Effective Business Writing, now in a new, revised and updated edition, willh elp you write the letters and memos that are so important to your career: persuasive memos, goodwill letters, complaint letters, sales letters, executive summaries... Whether you're writing an email message to a co-worker or a proposal to an international colleague, this book will help you choose an appropriate format, style, and tone. In addition to discussing the elements essential to good writing, this book will tell you - among other things - how to overcome writer's block, achieve an easy-to-read style, write for your boss's signature, organize messages for maximum impact, and find an efficient writing system.
Although a fairly old book, some information could indeed be considered relevant nowadays. The book had many great tips on writing e-mails, memos, etc. There are definitely more relevant and modern books out there in this subject are, but I would not consider this book a waste.
I read this book to decide whether or not I wanted to use it as a supplementary course text for the college 'business & professional writing' course I'm teaching fall semester. It is a quick, easy read, but I didn't really find any 'new' information in it that I haven't seen in other business writing literature. I won't be using it for the class, but it will be a nice addition to my reference collection on the subject.
