I want to like this book, I really do.
I want to like every children's picture book.

But this is a turn-off record for this Goodreads reviewer. Right on the first page, a boy is standing with both of his bare feet on a toilet seat?

Gross!

At least the story doesn't reach that level of ickiness again. But then Zachary winds up getting a great big dog, and (according to this story), how nice. His parents will be surprised.

But what, and they will have to keep it?

Not a book I would ever buy!

Sweet book! Children will enjoy hearing this story. I always wondered what happened to our dreams in the morning ~ now I know!

I liked the story. It moved a little slow at times. The end was a bit predictable, but the humor was great. The illustrations were well done and the color was awesome.

This is a wonderful picture book. I read the book many years ago and still have it on my shelves. I always loved it because it is so creative. The illustrations are fantastic as well.
