This book was not too terrible, but the formatting was way off.
Something I noticed right off the bat with this book is: Extra line breaks, at least once per page, every 2-4 paragraphs. There is not a break in the story/time/narration, so why is there a break in the words? I was hoping it was just something for an Intro chapter and wouldn't permeate through the whole book, but no! It continues throughout. This isn't as bad as other books, that have an extra line between all paragraphs, but this is just excessive. It kept throwing me out of the story, expecting a break in what is going on, but then there isn't. I would actually prefer to have the extra line between all paragraphs, if you are going to do this, because then I can expect it.
Having a recap of each chapter from each point of view is tedious. Luckily, that only happened a few times, but even so, it was annoying.

The writing isn't so bad in this one, so I gave it another star for that, and keeping me interested.

I didn't like the ending, though. All of a sudden, Bradley just gives up and leaves, Neva comes home and is OK with it all, and they get married and have their HEA. It felt like the author reached their goal for the length of the book, and just wrapped it all up to get it over with. It didn't feel like a resolution.
The blurb also mentions "Trace is handsome, off-limits… And a Billionaire with a capital B.". Billionaire never came up at all. Actually, a ranch isn't mentioned, either, and that's where this takes place. It feels as though the blurb was written before the actual book, and there were changes in the book that didn't match the blurb.

I doubt I would read this again, and I probably won't recommend it to others.

Surprise Baby for My Bestie's Dad is another amazing romance from Everleigh. It's a steamy, small-town OTT, age-gap , runaway bride, surprise pregnancy, girl gets her best friend's billionaire dad romance. Ashlee is a beautiful young bride who realizes at the altar that she can't go through with marrying Bradley. She is an orphan as her parents are now gone. She runs away to her hometown, hoping to see her best friend Neva. It turns out Neva is traveling abroad for a year. Trace is Neva's father. He is a hunky, protective, silver-fox billionaire who runs a ranch and breeds horses. When Ashlee shows up in the middle of the night in her wedding dress, he invites her to stay at the ranch. The two are instantly attracted to one another. As she stays on the ranch, they develop an easy friendship and are falling in love. But her ex is crazy. Can Trace keep her safe? And what will he say when he finds out she's pregnant? How will Neva react to their relationship? This couple had insane chemistry, and after the drama was resolved, we got an amazing HEA. Trace is so completely swoon-worthy. These two had such good hearts and were perfect together. I wanted to slap them both at times to just talk and not assume to know what the other was thinking. I love all of Everleigh's books, but this is my favorite to date. It was so good!!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ❤️ Everleigh’s books. They are a work of art that you honestly can’t get enough of. I started reading this book about Ashlee who ran away from Bradley her fiancé on her wedding day. With no where to go she goes to her best friend’s dad’s house. Trace is a widow who lives on a ranch raising horses. When Ashlee and Trace start to develop feelings that they never intended to happen things are going to take off running. Holy cow does this book have some mind blowing 🧨, heart ❤️ stopping as well as heart warming romance. This book is so good that I can’t wait to see how wonderful the reviews are going to be. If I could give this book a perfect 10/10 stars that wouldn’t even be enough. This book really has everything you want to read about kindness, compassion, romance and the suspense alone will drive you crazy because you have no idea how this is going to turn out. The ending is just as WONDERFUL as well as the entire book. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥🔥🔥😱😱

Absolutely phenomenal! I’ve been in a reading slump for quite sometime. This is actually the first book I’ve finished this year and it has pulled me right out of my slump. So much so that I finished this book in less than 24 hours. I’ve never read an age gap romance before and honestly, didn’t know quite what to expect. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. Not once did it seem strange or feel off. I absolutely adored each character, down to the horses and the dogs. I was so afraid that the ending was going to feel rushed because I was down to less than 20% of the book left and they were still kinda stand offish of each other. However, the author tied it together seamlessly and I felt everything fell right into place as it should. Although this was my first age gap romance, and my first book of hers, it most definitely won’t be my last! 5 stars, all the way around!

Ashley is a runaway bride: walking down the aisle, she comes to the realisation that this is all a mistake and she must leave her controlling fiancé standing at the altar. When she stops running, she finds herself at her best-friends home, but only her father is home. Luckily, he remembers her and offers her a place to stay and think.
This is an emotional rollercoaster story: there were so many ups and downs, I was sea-sick until near the end when calmer waters approached only to have a twist at the end!
I loved this story both Trace and Ashlee were good people and this came across loud and clear and had me rooting for them to succeed.

Better than I expected

I am really tired of books where the main characters can have sex but they can't have a conversation.
The runaway bride, danger, mystery, violence and romance plus sex. It was intriguing.
The story had a plot - I'm happy the main female character found her bliss and happiness. No one could steal from either her or him.
Molly and Argyle were my favorite characters and we had a villain.... Bradley!
I would have liked !more of their honeymoon adventure and pregnancy plus the mysterious Marcus!

New Path

Ashlee has just escaped the biggest mistake of her life and shows up at midnight on the doorstep of her childhood friend in need of help. However, Trace answers instead and he is immediately attracted to this woman. The complications of this story are suspenseful and heart pounding, but it was wonderful to read how protective he was of her. It was very enjoyable to read.

This is Trace and Ashlee’s story.
This is a well written emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, suspense, intrigue, a crazy ex, forced proximity, regrets, an age gap, surprise pregnancy, twists, passion, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and steamy, heartwarming, small town romance.

Quickie review: This was a new to me author I just happened to come across. The romance was semi spicy and oh so sweet. I loved the lack of angst between the couple, as it suited this book perfectly. I couldn’t imagine Trace being brooding and angsty all the time. It wasn’t who he is. But the book was amazing and had me running back to the story every free chance I had. I look forward to reading more from this author. 5 Stars.

I loved the love story but I do feel the ending was a bit rushed. After everything that the villain attempted and then just POOF gave it up and disappeared. There was some room I think for one more dramatic piece from him.
But other than that I adore Trace and I loved the beginning of the book too, it was a good gripping start.

good story but choppy to read

Good plot and story line. It is very hard to read. Author wants to get so much in, so sentences/paragraphs/ chapters feel like something is missing.

I loved the story though. I’ll read more by this author in the future

A compassionate, humbling and passionate romance. There may be an age gap between Bradley and Ashlee but you couldn't tell, their chemistry is undeniable and the connection they develop is simply beautiful. I enjoyed this steamy story.

Slow burn

Enjoyed the book but it was slow burn. I didn't like having to figure out how old these people are. I think she's early to mid 20s and he's a widower who has to be at least 40+ but is written like he's 50+

Ashlee leaves her wedding before she makes a mistake and marries her abusive fiancé. She ends up going to her friend's home only to learn that she is out of the country. However, her father Trace offers her a place to stay. Its not long before she is doing things around the ranch with Trace. They grow closer everyday they are together. Its not long before things change between them. Can they be together? Will her ex leave her alone?

This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

It's a shame that the dogs were forgotten about once Trace decided to propose, and a reason why Bradley finally gave up would have been a nice touch, but still pretty enjoyable.
