Stolen away from my mates, I've now found myself imprisoned, and at the mercy of a man far worse than Zorvan ever was. Day in and day out I spend my time answering to every whim of my personal jailer while longing for Feldorn and the people there that I've grown to love and care for.

Only...the cruel man in charge of making my life unbearable is not the one in charge. In fact, both of us are only pawns in a much grander scheme.

It doesn't take long for my tormentors plans to backfire, and soon we find ourselves in an unlikely alliance, working toward getting me freed from my cell in order to work toward the betterment of Sangaris. I've vowed that I won't allow myself to care for him, but fate is holding me hostage once again.

I only hope my mates back in Feldorn can forgive me.

Bound by force is a dark, why choose, fantasy romance with dark elements *within* the relationships themselves. If you are sensitive to any subjects, please read the preface. There will be far more sensitive subjects than in Bound By Chance.

I don’t even know what to say. I’m basically speechless. So much happened in this book that my mind has basically checked out “See you when book 3 comes out!” This book was non-stop action and kept me glued to my kindle from the first page. There were so many new revelations, but I still have a million questions! And the last few chapters are just brutal! My poor heart! I need answers! Someone wake me up when the next book releases.

Cliff hanger

This second in the series ends in another cliff hanger. It begins with many pages unworthy of print. I didn't know I had triggers, but these chapters made me furious and upset. I skipped ahead until events were a bit more palatable, so cannot review the first quarter. The second half returns Arden to her mates where she basically acts like terrible brat due to her treatment as a slave. The mates have the audacity to get angry at her treatment of them, and she apologized! Give me a break. Finally her reluctant mates admit their feelings and the relationships begin to heal. Meanwhile, politics and revenge drive the plot to the inevitable conclusion. Relatives and heritage are revealed. There are numerous typo type errors, mostly due to errant capital letters? I was hoping this was a duet, but no. I'm not sure the next installment would ever make up for the first two.

Book 1 was a bit of a wash but I'm a sucker for a book 2 so gave it a go. Still not for me. There was a lot of information that just seemed thrown together and still no end in sight. I know this will be for someone but not for me!

THIS BOOK EXPLORES DARK THEMES AND SITUATIONS! Please read the trigger warnings associated because from book one to two there is a difference. I was ready to dive right in my on this one wondering how the TWs were going to play out. I loved the FMC’s sheer will and determination throughout this novel. Her inner monologue was heartbreaking at times but also uplifting and motivational. I’ve missed my men during the wait from book 1 to 2. I’ve learned most are a delicious love/hate relationship (at least with me) but I love them all in their own special way. I cannot wait to see how this story progresses in the upcoming 3rd installment. I don’t want to accidentally spoil any biting so this one is more vague than my first one from this author. All I can say is buckle up, Buttercup you’re in for one hell of a ride!

The way the FMC battles through all the life curve balls and still is able to worth with and battle through anything with her mates is *chef’s kiss* i love how the FMC is a total badass, take no shit type of girl. she gains the loyalty of so many and its an amazing show of leadership and devotion. cant wait to see what book 3 brings!!!!

I'm not gonna lie it took me awhile to really get into this one. But once I did I couldn't stop and I'm ready for the rest of their story. I definitely have some love hate relationships with some of the characters in here Arden oddly enough being one. But it really is a great book.

SO… where to begin. The book opens with open door hard r of the FMC and her sister. I should’ve stopped there. Instead, I skimmed it. The next scene with the FMC, a new male character is introduced to assault her and ends up being her Star Fated mate. This does not stop him from SA’ing her and then forcing the bond onto her. You have to read the FMC telling him no and to stop. YET she falls in “love” with him and it’s all forgiven by 40% in even tho he refuses to apologize and says he’d do it again to have her.
“I won't apologize for who I am or what I've done. I certainly won't apologize for mating with you.”

THEN sis breaks herself out (and even helps out 2 women who are being forced into doing things against their wishes) with her new mate, only to have her other mates ask HER to apologize to THEM. They are mad she is upset with them and doesn’t want to be intimate or kind to them when SHE HAS BEEN LOCKED IN A DUNGEON AND SA’D. 2 of her mates started a relationship while she was gone and when she is hurt by that because she was being tortured while they were doing the nasty, they basically call her a wh*re for getting a new mate (WHICH, AGAIN, WAS AGAINST HER WILL). SHE APOLOGIZES! They make every excuse imaginable for why they didn’t do more to find her for the 8 weeks she was gone. She obviously has Stockholm Syndrome from being kidnapped 3 times because she falls for her captors at every chance.

Her mates have: cut her, strangled her, tried to drown her, called her a sl*t or wh*re, killed one of her mates out of jealousy, bullied her, SA’d her, taken away her memories, locked her in a cell/dungeon/bed room, forced themselves on her, betrayed her, gotten her kidnapped (from them, her original kidnappers!!), drugged her, videotaped her in intimate situations, the list could go on!

Literally not one of her mates hasn’t harmed her in some way. BUT Zorvan treated her like dirt and then broke the bond over something her father did AND then tried to drown her and exiled her. AFTER he finds out she’s a dragon shifter like him and can safely give him an heir (she’s pretty much the only one who could) he feels bad and wants her back. He’s suddenly a kicked and sad puppy who gives her everything she wants after she frees herself and returns to her other mates. I’m unsure how we are supposed to route for ANY of these men.

The writing is sad. The spelling is awful. Even names are spelled differently between chapters. The big reveal of WHO her grandfather is? Spoiled chapters ahead because she started calling him by that name on accident and didn’t notice. This series had the chance of being something great and instead its abuser sympathizing and Stockholm syndrome 101.

I tired to overlook the SA in the first book, and, now, it’s even worse. I did finish it to see how the author would allow Arden to heal from her traumatic experiences, but her character just refused to talk about it! Now, not only is she mated to two who already SA’d her, but another mate did even worse!!!! While there is potential in the story between the different magical beings and the warring kingdoms, the SA ruins it!!!

I just can’t get into a fmc who falls for her rapist even though he literally never apologizes for repeatedly raping her while she was in prison. And her sister apparently has Stockholm syndrome too. But then she had the audacity to get mad at the original crew because they didn’t immediately accept the rapist into their harem? That’s a no for me.

This series was very haunting/hunting Adeline with the first book of them starting to fall for each other and at the end she gets taken and then the second book is about getting her back. More fantasy than the first one

Bound by Force by KD Fraser is the second book that I have read by KD Fraser and is the second book in the Fate Bound Saga series. This was actually an advanced reader copy, but I decided to read it via KU to ensure that the author gets paid ;-D.

Bound by Force picks up where we left off at the end of Bound by Chance where Arden is kidnapped. There's more lies uncovered and we find out that those who are telling her the truths don't actually know all the truths. Arden is forced into sex slavery and forced breeding with her sister (who we thought was dead). Arden meets Camus (Queen Cyndair's grandson). They are actually fated mates and end up bonding. While in Cyndair Arden is able to shift after a month of slavery and gets herself back to Feldorn into Prince Zornan's custody with the rest of her fated mates.

As for spice, the beginning had a lot of spice because of the sex slavery. But once Arden got back to Feldorn, we got very little spicy scenes that were either not realistic (Livarius and Tavin not using any lube or enough spit made my eyes role) or everything was cut short due to Arden's trauma or to a duty that they needed to take care of.

Some things that I didn't understand: Why didn't Arden immediately bond with her fated mates as soon she got back to Feldorn? Everyone said that you're stronger once you bonded and even stronger if its a fated mate. Why didn't Lysander consult the stars more? Isn't that his responsibility (or consult his mother cause she seemed to be more powerful than him)? There was way too much fae/shifter/vampire/kingdom politics getting in the way of the actual romance. Nothing grew between Arden and the rest of her mates in this book, which was a let down.

Who didn't let me down the entire book was Camus! Absolutely loved him! Would have been okay with chapters in Arden and Camus' points of views only.

Lastly, again, as I said in my previous review of book 1, a last minute proofread would have worked wonders. This didn't deter me from enjoying the story and the worldbuilding, however, I had to pause a lot to edit in my head. Even still, some dialogue and inner monologue were lost on me; and some of the formatting needed to be fixed.

I do recommend this, start from book1, and CONSULT THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.

Bound by Force is an adrenaline-pumping ride through a dark fantasy landscape that's anything but predictable. If you're looking for a why-choose romance that breaks the mold, you've found your next obsession.

The plot kicks off with our heroine ripped from her mates and thrown into a nightmare under the thumb of a sadistic captor. But hold onto your hair—just when you think you’ve got the villain figured out, Fraser throws in a twist that turns everything on its head. Suddenly, our protagonist and her tormentor are forced into a shaky alliance, each playing a dangerous game in a much larger scheme.

Fraser nails the pacing in this one. The story barrels forward with relentless energy, mixing gut-wrenching tension with moments of unexpected tenderness. It's a masterclass in keeping readers hooked, balancing the action with just enough breathing room to let the emotional beats hit hard.

The character struggles are where this book truly shines. Our heroine is a fighter, constantly battling not just her external circumstances but the complex emotions that come with them. Her longing for her mates back in Feldorn is a constant, heart-wrenching undercurrent. Meanwhile, the captor-turned-ally adds layers of intrigue and conflict—his own motives and vulnerabilities slowly unravel, revealing a depth that makes their alliance both fascinating and fraught with tension.

And let’s talk about the dark elements. Fraser doesn’t shy away from the gritty and the grim, weaving these themes into the very core of the relationships. The preface gives fair warning—sensitive subjects abound, and they’re handled with a raw, unflinching honesty. The MM romance threads seamlessly into the narrative, adding another rich layer to the story.

This one isn’t just a sequel; it’s a gripping, dark exploration of love, power, and survival. If you’re into fantasy romance that pushes boundaries and keeps you on the edge of your seat, this book is a must-read. Buckle up—you’re in for one hell of a ride.

Warning this book has more triggers then the last one. It is dark, please make sure to read the trigger list! Because it goes right into right away.

Man this one is so good! There so much more that happens that man I didn't see! Like holy moly I did not expect that.

At one point though three people in the book didn't irritate me so much. It was kind of like I understood where some of it was coming from and then some of it I was just like that makes no sense why you have an attitude at all! The author really does a good job at making you get so irritated at what they do, at one point I was like trying to not pull out my hair to figure out why what certain people were doing were okay and made the main character fall more in love with them which made no sense to me honest truth!!

But aside from the characters driving me insane this book is still really good. Like I said in the beginning there is a lot of trigger warning so please make sure you read that. The author does a great job with it and I honestly was surprised I like the story a lot. The more the merrier is all I'm going to say lol! I can't wait to see how book 3 is. Because the way the book ended I really want specific things to happen to specific characters. Because they deserve it is all I have to say. And I cannot wait to see what happens next. Honest truth if you love a story about fae, dragons, magic, and a bunch of fantasy. This is a book you need to read. I hope the author makes me hate more people because it's hard to do that with me lol!!! So she does an awesome job on it.

imprisonment, forced mating, a test, and so much more

This book was a lot of things happening all at once. You find out so much new information in this one. I absolutely need the next book because I am both hopeful and terrified about what will come next.

The entire book I just want to kill the dang queen. She is absolutely horrible and all she wants is to rule the entire realm. She doesn't care what the cost is as long as she gets what she wants.

I love that with everything going on we get some time with Zorvan and the Keepers so we get more insight to how they are feeling, what is holding them back, and what they want for the future.

While I was so terribly pissed at Zorvan I also am so glad everything went about the way it did. He really needed to figure out a lot and I really hope that everyone can come together and become the strength the people need.

I read Books 1 and 2 back to back in 2 days and I am so angry that I now have to wait for another book because I am so hooked on this world and I need to know what happens next.

Also, Can we talk about that ending? I won't spoil anything but seriously WTF. I'm going to go hide until I have the next book and can process all these feelings.

I haven’t read a good fantasy shifter book in a hot minute (acowar being the last one) and I am sooooo glad this series is the one I picked up!

Did I wait until the arc for book 2 dropped in my inbox before I read book 1? Yes. Did I read 1000 pages in 2 days and lose a full nights sleep? Also yes. Do I regret it? Not for a single second.

7 mates, 4 of them being mm🥵

Bound by chance was my first from this author and I couldn’t be more pleased that I took the dive! Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. I had to know, do the guys stop fighting the mate bond? Will the group ever get their hea and finally get to just be able to relax and enjoy the bond? Will there be a dragon heir? Will they save the people from the evil queen and finally put an end to her reign? Uhhhhhh another cliffhanger. I need book 3!

If your looking for a rh fantasy shifter (with multiple kinds of shifters😉) that will not only have you turning page after page but will have you sucked into the story, this is definitely the book for you.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️ (but trust me the story more than makes up for the lack of spice!)

Did I wait until this book release was close before reading book one? I sure did.
Am I now upset I have to wait for the next installment?? Incredibly.

Beginning at the cliffhanger of book one, this story takes flight as if barely any time has passed.
For a good portion of the beginning, this follows Arden's POV since she is the main female of this series. This is where I felt the book lagged a bit for me. Her mates and their uniqueness are my favorite parts of this series and I wish we got more from their side of the story. Arden's trials and traumatic experiences were not unenjoyable or boring, I simply preferred the story the further it unraveled.
*note* There are some triggering content moments in this book, primarily in the first half that may make some readers uncomfortable. Please check the TW before proceeding *

The second half/ last quarter of the book is where I struggled to put it down. The pacing picked up, and I felt much more invested in the story. My enjoyment of this section of the book is why it almost clicks a five-star read for me.
And now we must impatiently wait for the next book.

Firstly, I cannot wait for book three! I think I am going to die having to wait!
This is the second book of the saga, not a stand alone. It builds onto many of the events and relationships of the first book - Bound by Fate.
I loved the book (except the first few chapters) and adore the character development. The relationships and story building is memorizing and addicting!
A great Why Choose, Fated Mates, Shifters/Paranormal, action packed, feeling driven book!

This book has more triggers and dark themes than the first.
Some extremely prevalent triggers being : Sex Trafficking, Rape, Violence, Stockholm syndrome (slight presence). Among others. Personally I could have went without the first several chapters with these intense triggers present. If you want to read this book without the major triggers (they did bother me), I’d recommend skipping the first few chapters.

Spoilers :
Summary of those chapters : abduction, evil queen wants hybrids so forces her kin to bred shifters, Arden is raped by queen’s kin to break her spirit, Camus forces bond on Arden begins by raping her then both grows with feelings until he begins to help her…

Non-Spoiler Review

Kidnapped from her mates and imprisoned, Arden finds herself in a much worse situation than she had with Zorvan in Feldorn. A cruel captor demands she serves only him and all his desires while she longs for her mates in Feldorn.

Forced to compete in a competition to prove her worthiness to be with her new mate, things begin to unravel and the truth behind what is happening to captive Feldorn shifters and her own hidden lineage makes her a pawn in a game with a much more dangerous foe than her captor, Queen Cyndair.

Picking up where book one, Bound by Chance, leaves off, this book continues with the plot twists, spicy scenes and also contains some darker subjects. Arden’s character grows and becomes stronger as she faces new challenges, starts to develop her magic and express her shifter side. With found family, fated mates, magical creatures and shifters this reverse harem story keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Please consult CW as this is a dark, why choose, fantasy romance.

While I received an ARC of this book, all opinions are my own.

Thrilling, Spicy, DARK Romantasy!

This was the perfect sequel to Bound by Chance. It left you guessing all the way through and still manages to pull unexpected twists. It is exceptionally dark and STRONGLY encouraged to read trigger warnings if you have any. I, however, ate this book up.

I typically get bored with the whole "captured" trope, and she does remain captive for a solid portion of this book but it still kept me engaged and interested. There is so much drama and unexpected turns that I was tempted to forego all my responsibilities preventing me from devouring this in one sitting.

I know KD was super nervous with her reader's reactions to this book, but in my opinion, she needs to stop doubting herself. This series so far has blown me away. I am completely obsessed. She knows what we want and definitely provides it. I mean, she could convince me to like Zorvan after loathing him during the first book. She deserves an award or something at this point.

"Book two in the Fate Bound Saga broke my heart in so many ways. Please be warned that this book has many triggers including SA, kidnapping, forced mating, attempted forced pregnancy, and torture of the MFC. Check the trigger warnings before reading.

Arden has been stolen away from her mates not once but twice. Now she is in the hands of Queen Cyndar and may never see her mates again. She is forced to endure torture while playing along to stay alive. Will she ever make it back to her mates and if she does will they still want her? What will she do about the new mate she has acquired will in captivity?

I loved this book as much as I did the first one. Parts of it made me so emotional and sad, but I could not put it down. I really hope the evil queen gets her comeuppance in the third book. KD has built a beautiful world and I hope we get more books set her after the last in this series. I will be a reader of her books for a long time to come."

SPOILER FREE REVIEW:

That’s a wrap on Bound by Fate, and it’s everything I hoped for—and then some. After the jaw-dropping end of Bound by Chance, book 2 takes dark romance and high-stakes drama to a whole new level. If you thought the first book was intense, just wait—this one is an emotional roller coaster and then some. It’s definitely on the darker side, so be sure to check your trigger warnings before you dive in.

If you love found families, drama, angst, fated mates, kinks, smut, magical creatures, and multi-POV narratives that keep you on the edge of your seat, you absolutely need to grab this book. But again, CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS!

This series has quickly climbed to the top of my recognizably loved series. KD Fraser lands the perfect balance between plot, detail, and drama, delivering a book that grabs your heart and won’t let go. It’s a solid 4.5/5⭐ from me. I’m eagerly awaiting Book 3 —bring it on ASAP pls!!

Oh my, where do I even begin, once again I devoured this book I couldn’t put it down, I lost sleep over this book it was that good I was staying up to read it, I kept telling myself I’ll just read this chapter then I’ll go to sleep but something would happen and I need to what the outcome was so this became a vicious cycle one I so enjoyed.
I don’t like to go too much in-depth about what happened because that will spoil the fun for you, but what I will say is this you will laugh, you will be angry and you may very well cry but you will also love. So buckle for one of the best reads of your life, don't forget to start with Bound By Chamce if you haven't already, you wont regret it.

I also want to say my deepest sympathies to KD Fraser, Iv experienced it my self twice before that I know and it never gets easier and we never forget but we learn to keep going. My thoughts are with you.

This book was gifted to me for my honest review, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was dark and light at the same time. It started out dark as the cliffhanger from the first book in this series left it that way. However, as the story progresses, Arden, the FMC, slowly comes back, bigger and stronger than ever. I love her personality and her spunk once she finds it.

The males in this book all have their own personalities and it seems like they each have something that the other doesn’t, which is good for her and what she needs. They are all crazy for her as only mates will be. OTT possessive too…some more than others. I also like the fact that they have relationships between them as well.

There are a lot of secrets that are revealed in this book. However, it was not difficult to follow. It’s a battle of the kingdoms and families are split between them. I really liked that this is different from other fantasy/paranormal stories I’ve read.

Book two babes. WTF? Our FMC is kidnapped and held captive...again. This time, things are much darker. This book is darker than book one and far more messed up. The things our FMC goes through 😱. We learn more family secrets in this book and more about the fae realm. We also meet new important characters, and our FMC finally has bonds. I'm still mad at every one of our MMCs. I think there should have been more groveling, and they should have tried to find her harder. I'm sure everyone had a hard time, but they could have worked harder to get to her. Also, I loved Liv in book one. This book I'm not sure how I feel. I feel like him and Tavin should have waited for our FMC, not just be like you know what she would be okay with it. I feel like they deserve her anger, and they should be working harder on winning her over. So while I like the story and how pur FMC is becoming a badass, I don't love the relationships with our MMCs at this moment. The book doesn't end on a cliffhanger like the first book, but it does leave the what happens next question. 🌶🌶🌶.5 spice. MM scenes, noncon, dubcon, kidnapping, imprisonment, murder, breeding, sexual assault, family secrets.
