It’s a time for celebration. Unfortunately in Twilight Cove, the festivity is masking something ominous...
PI Dean Steele has had to solve many strange mysteries throughout his career. This time he is called to the small seaside town to unmask the truth behind a chilling murder. Who would kill a man and tie him up to a parade float?
While following clues in this case, Dean stumbles upon an intricate web of secrets. Skeletons that seemed to have shaped Twilight Cove for many generations.
Across town at the palatial home of Joseph Palmer, a Gatsby-like figure. The most incredible party in town is being held. The guest list is long, the house is packed, and the night is filled with food, laughter, music, and drinks. Everyone is having a wonderful time… except for the host. What could be tormenting him?
There's a time for celebration and a time for death.
The Mardi Gras king, enthroned on a device to slowly rise from inside his float at a specified location on the parade route, emerges on cue - except he’s a corpse.
And Dean’s new missing person case thrusts him directly into these two very different separate matters transpiring in close proximity, with collateral damage right and left.
Death by Midnight (Dean Steele Mystery Thriller Book 8)
OMG!!!!!!! This book was so good that I read it straight through. I could not put out down. Dean starts out looking for a missing mother and gets tangled up in 3 murders. It is not stop action. I can't wait to read the next book.
In this 8th installment of the Dean Steele series, we find our favorite PI in Twilight Cove looking for a missing woman. As evidence is found, he discovers connections to a separate case he's working. Can he put all the pieces together before anyone else gets hurt?
In this latest Dean Steele book, it's Mardi Gras and he's busy with a new case. And then another. And another. It's non-stop action and intrigue. And the ending just makes me want the next book ASAP. Luckily, AJ Rivers never makes the wait very long.
Whoa! Dean is getting more twisted than Emma, and I love it! This case was convoluted and fascinating. And what an ending! Love this series and happy that Dean is getting closer to Owen.
Taking the case of a missing person While catching up with an old friend Steele views a murder & is caught up in the investigation of the mystery. His friend is targeted & so is he, as he unravels each & every thread to get it right.
This is a great mystery book but I did not like the ending. I hope the next book put an ending to this book. We are kept in suspense through out the book and then the end does not put the book to rest. Hope the next book does.
Very entertaining book! I was wondering the whole story about what was going to happen! I loved this book! I think this author is wonderful! I love all her books! Dean Steel and Xavier are wonderful characters and I also love cupcake and the sitter!!
This book is excellent, so many twists and turns. I felt like I needed a map to follow the story. I certainly was surprised by the ending which I think isn't completely written. There's more to this one. Can't wait for book 9.
I enjoyed this story about Dean and Xavier and the chaos they walk into. Exciting and lots of twists and turns. The characters are always great and feel like family. You'll love it!
Two very interesting stories. A missing woman who was found murdered and a number of people murdered which Dean isn't sure who is guilty not hiring an individual to do the murders. They also had a Mardi grad parade which sounded interesting.
This was a doozy but I’m glad they had Dean and X. I really read this as if it’s a Netflix series! It’s so good! I’ll be reading the rest of this series and starting with Emma’s series!
Enjoying the series, Dean and X seem to make a good team. Excited to see what type of construction the soon to be new country house is going to be. X is a extrodnary person, but he has so much love for the innocent.
This was a excellent story with Dean trying to solve two different cases and trying to find answers who done it with lots of suspense and action. Thank you for always writing such great stories.
What the heck? Read the whole book and didn’t even get a full resolution- and by reading the description of the next book, doesn’t seem like we will. Boring overall, with no interesting character development. Dialogue between characters is SO cut and dry. Wish I would have spent my time reading something else.
