Really good read

This book gives the reader a good perspective on what the early years of WW II was like for the merchant marine. These men were the only hope of England when the Kriegsmarine was trying to starve them into submission. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Interesting book never, read about the merchant service At war in 1940s

This is a different part of the north Atlantic war , brings a whole new perspective on just sailing on and letting the Navy do the work however the sailors had their trials and troubles too

Reality

A study in the harsh reality that was the Atlantic supply run in the earliest years of the WWII scene. The hint that the US could have sides with the Nazi,a something of a surprise. although every nation has its share of opinions!

The day to day workings of a vessel including whilst on war time convoy duty are impressive. The romantic segments however are a bit ordinary.
