I grew up in a small town in Alabama, and moved from there to a small town in Florida.

I never had an interest in writing until I was around 16 and my literature teacher had faith in me. I began to journal daily. When I was around 19 I started a blog on Myspace and was pleased by the feedback I got for my writing. When I turned 21 I did a blog talk radio show (was not interesting) and only kept up with it for about a year.

Writing is a passion yet has been placed on the back burner. After having a child, I would write here and there, but not daily as before. I have even started a journal for him from the time I was pregnant and so forth that I plan to give him when he is 18.

I am very family focused. I work a fulltime job, but also feel I have a lot to say and I am happy to have found a new outlet to be able to put it out there and also get feedback and be able to read what others have to say as well.

I have faithfully followed Brittany for several years on Instagram and I am so grateful for her knowledge and inspiration! I have purchased all books that she has previously released and I am glad to have finished this one as well! Relevant, easy to understand recipes and nutrition info to help you get on track with your health! I have never found a "diet plan" as easy to follow as JERF. I highly recommend this book as well as her others! Thank you again, Brittany!

I’ll note that I had considered myself a big fan of Brittany, I follow her on social media and have purchased all of her other books. However, I find several of the intro chapters VERY problematic with this newest book. I will be returning this one ASAP.

It reads as rushed and not fact checked or edited. As a scientist, it seems like Brittany really doesn’t understand some of the things she wrote about and really shouldn’t be offering advice on things she doesn’t fully understand. I’d encourage her readers to take some of her advice with a huge grain of salt. For example, within a few pages of this book, I was shocked to find blatant outright misinformation written about GMOs, claims she makes that are completely unsubstantiated by real scientific evidence but that could cause real panic for someone to read if they didn’t know more about it. I cannot support someone who has a huge following and makes such glaringly incorrect statements with no thought about the impact that could have on her readers who put their trust in her. It’s frankly irresponsible to mislead your followers so egregiously.

In addition to those problems, a lot of her recipes are recycled from previous books and online, so if you’ve already used those, this might not have a lot new for you. There are not many photos and lot of them appear to be random pictures of her family rather than the recipes. This was touted as “quick and easy” but arguably contained a lot of recipes that are neither. Some even rely on you making several recipes just for one dinner (such as make the mayo to make the dressing to put on the chicken)

Finally, a diet book that I really resonate with. There are no crazy rules and the food tastes good! William gets it. She doesn’t list nutrition info on her recipes because she knows when she counts calories, she starts looking for ways to maximize the junk food she can eat each day (literally what I do when I count calories too). She uses cheap ingredients and even recipe tested with a cheap blender to make sure anyone could make her food. Williams makes portion control and healthy eating seem really doable and I appreciate that! And the best part- it’s all gluten-free! Thank you for the gifted copy, Harvest Books.
😋
Here’s what I made:
🍌 The Best Gluten-Free Banana Bread- I was skeptical that this could really be the best… but I think it is! It’s got no butter or sugar and yet it’s excellent! Doesn’t taste like health food at all!
🍚 Teriyaki Salmon Rice Bowls- this was the only recipe that was just okay. Thankfully I had @hungryhawaiian #glutenfree teriyaki sauce to give it delicious flavor!
🐓 Taco Chicken- this one got my daughter excited about salad! Quite an accomplishment! (I was too excited to eat and didn’t realize till later that I failed to show off the corn/salsa/black mean mix in the salad)
🐟 Tuna Pasta Salad- tasty comfort food. Loved that this author wasn’t afraid to use mayo in a diet book.
🍜 Easy Chicken Ramen- this really was easy and very good and- bonus- now I know how to make perfect jammy eggs!

4th cookbook and it’s so good!! The frittata is amazing. Her story and her easy way to adjust what you have now until you can replace it with a better ingredient are amazing! Always love new ideas for dinner since cooking is easy to get stuck on.

This is a fantastic book. You learn how to do everything from making your own nut milks to eating healthy with do it yourself methods. I am definitely going to try some of what is in this nutritious book and... I might even purchase a pressure cooker because of how easy she makes this sound.
