If you think that "Noo Yawkers" talk funny, this book might be for you. The writer/illustrator team who gave us The Boston Dictionary are back with The Boston Handbook, an informal, delightfully informative guide to all things Bostonian. This handy companion initiates you into Bean Town customs, oddities, rituals, weather, sports, transportation, and cuisine. It's proof positive that Oliver Wendell Holmes was right when he designated Boston as "the Hub of the Solar System."
Humorous little essays and cartoons; I read this book a lot as a kid, even though I didn't get all the jokes. Some of the references are now dated and will be inscrutable to younger audiences, and there are a couple of jokes that are kind of offensive, but a lot of it still lands.
