He’s the famous hockey player, and I’m the pregnant Omega next door…
My past was filled with mistakes, and knocking on a strange man’s door for a taste of his spicy food to satiate my craving was bound to be another one. The sparks were instant, and the bond I never expected to have grew, leaving me afloat as my due date loomed overhead.
I thought my pregnancy would be the issue that kept us apart, and I’d raise my child alone. I hoped I was wrong, but everything in my world was uncertain.
Adding Jeremy, Devon, and Nate to the mix might not be helpful. Jeremy, with his caring heart, took me in, and Devon filled my new home with laughter. Together, they reminded me of a kindness that I had forgotten.
Nate was the only one who hadn’t accepted me, and although I never intended to come between the three of them, his refusal left him battling against his pack mates’ desires, sending us all into a whirlwind of emotion as they fought amongst themselves.
Because Jeremy might not be the dad, but he wanted to be.
Pack Plus Three is the first book in the Pucking Pregnant series and is in the same universe as the Pucking Alphas series. Although each book is a standalone, they should be read in order.
I've read other books by huxley. I rated them highly. I can't do that in this case. I checked twice to verify I hadn't read this book before. Unless Jillian West has developed a new pen name I believe someone needs to make her aware that many of her concepts are being used here. I've read plenty of the omegaverse. I've never been concerned about one author copying anothers ideas until now. I will be doing some research and emailing West and possibly Huxley to get to the bottom of this.
I was surprised at how much I did not enjoy this book. Usually I enjoy this author but this book was not good. The same phrases were repeated constantly throughout. Major plot holes as well, there was no flow or real sense on the passage of time. Like why was her apartment broken into and damaged with bleach? When she moved into the pack house, she when did she get new clothes? If severing sickness symptoms can be lessened or cured by bonding why did Nate not want an Omega? Why did Cole first want custody and then not want custody? How is the pack multimillionaires from hockey, but the one hockey player in the pack only makes 1M a year? All of this I could ignore if I connected to the characters but they were one dimensional. I’m still not sure what two of the three pack members look like. No bueno.
I didnt read this book but two of the women in my discord book group did. they had thoughts on what they read and I'll leave the facts of the story up to them if they chose to review
heres my thoughts no one asked for
if the title feels like a rip off then I'm wondering what else is too
would any author name their book Knot Your DamnED Omega Baby And The DAYTIME Howlers Pack DarlingS TWO Pucked Up Packs
how's this author going to use plus three when another OV author did a pregnancy trope book plus two earlier this year. I didn't finish the other pregnancy book. I did like this authors hockey books and after this I won't be supporting her anymore.
Pack Plus Three, book 1 in the Pucking Pregnant series, by Melissa Huxley @melissahuxleyauthor. TW: Please note that Daisy is pregnant throughout the book.
I absolutely loved this book about Daisy, Jeremy, Devon & Nate. I am a huge fan of Omegaverse, pregnancy/men taking care of women who have a child, RH, & everyone taking care of each other.
I really hoped I was done with the DNF books, but something about this week has my patience at zero.
A NHL playing plus part time contractor who actually hates hockey and would rather be a contractor full time. He does both those jobs but somehow has weeks/months/I can't remember to sit around and cater to this woman? Rarely leaves town?
Whiny asf FMC. If something isn't top quality in her life, she's gonna tell us AND the MMCs. Her laptop that needs to be replaced (instead of just letting us see that it's slow and dingy or something, she has to monologue how she needs a new one), her "lumpy bed" that kills her back every time she sleeps, her broken oven that wouldn't make the "budget version" of the fries she was craving (so of course the MMC had to take her out for the non-budget version fries instead), the free clinic she could only afford one maternity appointment for, the bus she has to ride because she doesn't have a car, the food cravings she can't meet in the middle of the night because she'd have to take the bus, and on and on and on. It's like the opposite of humble bragging where she "humbly" tells us and the MMCs how poor she is and every way in which she's struggling. She doesn't want to be a burden, but she'll freely hint to them everything they can do to fix her life.
The other two MMCs are an afterthought, and one doesn't grovel nearly enough.
Insta-love. The annoying kind.
For a hockey romance, this has very little hockey....
This storyline was so familiar to me. I skimmed ahead and can confirm that almost this exact same storyline has been done before and better by another author.
as a proud pregnancy trope defender and a shameful omegaverse enjoyer i did like this, but i have a few criticisms
there was a lot of repetitive phrases, such as “parasite” “beach ball” and a few more. i think the book would have flowed better if the author had diversified her word usage
and the relationships felt a little surface level to me but i think that also just comes with the genre. i still enjoyed it though! i loved how attentive and obsessive the mmcs were
This book was really full of plot holes and inconsistencies. You don’t ever find out what happened to her apartment, only one relationship is really even developed, the other two are added as an afterthought as though the author remembered that they were writing an RH book over halfway through the manuscript.
Can you even call this a Hockey book? There’s no Hockey other than the MMC calls himself a Hockey Player. He’s supposed to be in season but the story goes weeks without him having to go out of town for a game or series. He also supposedly hates playing Hockey. I feel like that was written into the story just so the author could advertise and claim the clout and popularity of the Hockey genre.
I also feel like the author copied large bits from another more popular Omegaverse author. I’ve only ever seen mini heats during pregnancy in one author’s work, and I’ve read a ton of OV pregnancy books. There were a couple of other reviews linking chunks of the story to a different book by this same popular author.
I won’t be reading any more books by this author in the future. If you can’t come up with your own ideas and stories, you probably need to find a different day job. This was a hot mess.
This was just what I was looking for: a super sweet and chill omegaverse story.
We get the sweetest single mom story who gets courted by a man who has always wanted a family. He has two pack mates but the first part of the story is all about Jeremy and Daisy and how his cooking lures her in because it's the only thing she wants to eat with her morning sickness.
This was the perfect amount of sweet.
It didn't get too deep into drama. Nate pushes away and is a bit mean at times, but it doesn't get overbearingly too negative motivation. And there's some weird drama with the ex (baby dadd7) that's not fully explained... but everyone gets their HEA and cute babies are born and cuddled.
Easy peasy... just a really nice story.
Safety deets - Daisy was left by the baby daddy but she hasn't got a lot of past experience. - None of the guys have a lot of experience with other women though Nate lost his really good friend omega who he'd bonded with. - Cute dog. - HEA with all of them happy and together.
Didn't really enjoy this story. The MFC, Daisy, just really bugged me, but I'm not sure why. I hated that she called the babies parasites, I know it was meant to be endearing, but for me, it just wasn't.
The relationships fell flat, the only one I really liked was Jeremy, the others love interests Didn't really make sense to me, it was sort of insta love I think and I don't like rushed/insta love. I ended up skipping a lot of this book as it just didn't hold me attention.
This book also reminds me of another book by one of my favourite authors in the same OV. I'm not sure if this was intentionally done or the author is unaware but when I realised (half way through the book) it kinda put me off. I dunno, just wasn't my cup of tea.
The main character was too whiny and reliant on her love interests which again I don't really like.
But it does have rave reviews so I think I'm in the minority with my opinion.
It wasn’t terrible, but something was off the whole time. Especially the whole thing with her ex? That went absolutely nowhere. And the break-in scene? She thought it was her ex ….ooh, suspense! (was my high hopes) and then… poof. Nothing. That whole storyline just vanished like it forgot it was supposed to matter. No drama, no twists, not even a decent fake-out. Honestly, I was not emotionally invested in this story(
I enjoyed this story for the most part. The writing was a little meh for me though and the overuse of exclamation points was really putting me off. The beginning also felt a lot slower than the ending, once we hit the 60% mark or so it seemed to rush through the end and I actually hated how the whole Nate situation was handled from there. We got to see so much of how Daisy and Jeremy grew together, then she and Devon had some good moments. All while Nate was barely mentioned and when he was he was still in the "hating Daisy" stage. And then out of nowhere he's all in, he's then quickly in love, and they bond.
Overall, I'm not sorry I read it. It felt more like it belonged on Wattpad circa 2015, but hey I use to read all the Wattpad stories for the plot and not the writing and that's what this was for me.
I give any author kudos for dipping into something foreign. Choosing to take on American language wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but the storyline was incredibly erratic. In one moment they are a wealthy pack in their own right and in the next without Jeremy’s job they would be destitute. I think the insurance angle, especially since Nate was positioned as a highly successful, high powered lawyer, was a little weak. I think that in an attempt to build a plot, the plot was mostly lost. Very little character building happened between Daisy and Nate, yet the L-bomb was dropped very quickly. The story felt rushed. It’s also positioned as a hockey romance - when the reality is hockey only comes to play as an insurance reason. The NHLPA, I believe, is who provides insurance to the players and not the league. These are little things that an editor and a bit more research could help build a robust story.
This had so many tropes that I love. RHOV, Neighbors and single mom/preggers to name a few. It started off great and had such potential. I did enjoy it and liked the characters, but it lacked relationship building with the second and third alphas of the pack.
I can definitely say that I did not love the author's writing in this book. I preferred the writing in her other works, such as the one featuring Zach and Grayson. In this book, the details felt overly repetitive, and I kept encountering the same information every few pages. The plot seemed cookie-cutter, with everything falling into place too smoothly and perfectly, especially after the main character had her twins. Overall, while this is a cute story, it felt like a big ball of fluff. I think it could benefit from incorporating more real-world examples to add depth and realism.

The book was good. The spice was 🔥, I just can’t get over glossing over her apartment situation. Why did someone do that? Who? If it was her ex why? Just for him to give up? Why did he call her only a few times with no messages. I don’t know. The story was sweet but the plot had holes for sure.
I was soooo looking forward to this but I should have just dnf.
How many times did the FMC “little parasite”? Duckie??? Flower??? I just can’t with these nicknames. Plot holes, so much skimmed because I was BORED. There was only a little relationship development with one of the MMC’s and the others were non existent.
Ugh what a cute book! Honestly what I needed!! I love omegaverse books and when I saw this series I know I had to check it out! Of course it was so good!
I loved the part where every relationship with the MMCs was different. They all were different and they all worked great together.
I love pregnancy trope so this was even better because of how devoted they were with the babies in the end 🥹
I also ended up listening to the audiobook version and it made me smile the whole time. The narrators did a really good job bringing the characters to life!
If you love a super sweet and soft omegaverse book, then you will really enjoy this! It had a lot of the things I love in an omegaverse book like jealous and possessive alphas, heat, nesting, and group scenes. The FMC was super cute, and the alphas fell for her right away. Well, all but one. My only wish was that there was a bit more angst or drama. For me, everything just felt too easy. The baby daddy drama could have been more in my opinion, or the third alpha could have groveled a bit longer. This is just me being knit picky. All in all, it was a sweet read.
Tropes: Multi 1st POV Omega FMC 3 Alpha MMC MFMM Pregnancy (not by MMCs) Forced Proximity 2.5🌶🌶

Man, this was bad! It had to be one of the most boring nonsensical books that really was a whole lot about nothing. She had three mates, but she was only with the one made for like 60% of the book, then out of nowhere she bonded with the second guy at 75%, and then she didn’t bond or have any type of relationship with her third guy till the 95% of the book. It was just really weird and boring as hell. Especially if you’re not trying to hear about baby shit the entire time.
This was a very “meh” book in my opinion. It felt like the same things were repeated over and over again. Yes, we understand the FMC is very pregnant and very broke… but to be repeated 50 million times was aggravating. The plot felt very stagnant for most of the book and I couldn’t help but skip good chunks of chapters.
Usually I fly through books quickly, but this one took considerable effort.
Very much meh Why is it in a RH one of the guys always has to hold back 🙄 I absolutely do not want my H's to have been with other omegas wth And for one of the H's to actually have severing sickness because he was bonded already? Nooooooooooo!!!! The bonding was accidental but still ewwwwwww
It was a pleasant read. I like the instalove and the sexy neighboor story. The way Jeremy supported Daisy, the FMC, was very cute. The guys accepted Daisy's baby as their own and it was 🥰
Melissa Huxley has done it again. How could you not fall in love with Daisy and Jeremy. If thisbwas just an MF Omegaverse, their story would be satisfying enough. His never ending love for Daisy and her baby from the beginning was everything you would hope for.
I enjoyed Devon' character but felt he could have been more of a fleshed out character and at the end of the story, I don't remember hom as much as the others.
Poor Nate. I love the hesitant alpha these stories tend to have but Nate's story felt new and it's refreshing to have an alpha who suffers from his situation with a previous bond that is usually not written about.
Again, I loved Jeremy. I loved that he was willing to sacrifice his own happiness to make sure his chosen family was always taken care of. He was the steady gentle bear and I loved his character so damn much.
Last, but certainly not least, I loved Daisy's character. I love that she was burned before and it made her be smarter with her choices. She made all her decisions based off the life she was given to protect and her journey to love and motherhood was really well written.
This wasn’t an awful book. It had quite a few cute and amusing moments. However, there were some things that were difficult for me such as: - I forgot about the dog midway through the book. Once they went to the pack house, it’s like Gilbert disappeared. He is mentioned once toward the end but played a big part at the beginning. - Until the heat at the end, there was really no talk of knotting despite the characters having sex. Do they not knot when pregnant? - Nate said some pretty cruel things to her and she slapped him and pretty much forgave right away once he told her his story. - I feel like we didn’t get a whole lot of background on anyone but Jeremy and his large family.

I really enjoyed this omega and alpha story. It was so real and heartwarming to read. There was tragedy, drama, funny incidents that required home repairs and funny and sexy banner between the four of them. We got to know each of the characters and fall in love with them. A great story until the end.
This book is soooo good! I loved the other 2 books Melissa has written, but I think this one is now my favorite. I devoured this one in about 5 or so hours, and I’m beyond obsessed with it.
Daisy and her guys are so perfect. I absolutely LOVED her meet cute with Jeremy! Jeremy is so sweet and just what Daisy needs. Devon is such a teddy bear when it comes to Daisy, and his willingness to watch 18 seasons of a tv show with her tells me everything I need to know about his devotion to her. And Nate… the broken boy of the pack. I just wanted to hug this man. I thought his story was written really well. They all fit together so perfectly, and I thoroughly enjoyed their story!
Thank you so much to Melissa and her team for giving me an ARC! ❤️
⭐️: 5/5 🌶️: 2.5/5
What to expect: Omegaverse Hockey romance Accidental Pregnancy (not the bio dads) Neighbors to lovers Millionaire romance Chronic illness representation (illness specific to OVs) Heats, knots, nesting, etc. Labor briefly depicted on page Why choose No 3rd act breakup
Pack Plus Three by Melissa Huxley is the third installment of the (Pucking Alphas, #3) series and is a hockey-themed but not overly focused Omegaverse super sweet romance! These books do build off each other but do not need each other to enjoy them (but I highly recommend reading them all they are fantastic!)
You have a lot of tropes, he falls first (and hard), grumpy alpha, funny alpha and cinnamon roll alpha, sickness, pregnancy, food as a love language. The world is based around a handful of locations and some great touches on some locations and people from the first two books so enough to keep things feeling fresh, solid, and not overwhelming.
Overall a great sweet romance, that leaves you warm and fuzzy I can't recommend it enough!
Melissa can do no wrong. I love every single one of her books and this one was no different. I’d give my left tit to read them for the first time again. I adored these characters but I can’t tell if it made my baby fever better or worse.
