I always find that studying the water color masters valuable. Though I would have liked to see more color photos in this book, I am slowly appreciating the black and white ones. There is a lesson to be learned by focusing on values rather than color. It seemed like it took me forever to get through the book but I didn't want to rush it.

An easy read, and has a focus on how to paint rather than a lot of basic stuff about buying materials.

Advocates a simple style, with minimum kit.

Inspiring enough to want to buy a couple of brushes and give it a go.
