Every single short story was captivating. The storylines did not feel rushed. Will leave you speechless and with slight questions that are along the lines of 'how did they get away with this'. Like how 'New Year, New Me...Now What?' featured a woman that wanted to change herself for a man. However, I did not see her reaction coming.

I will be reading more by author!

Twisted collection of short stories

“Twisted Endings” is exactly how it sounds. A collection of short suspenseful stories with twists to usher in a surprising ending every time. Fun little reads. Recommended for those times when you don’t feel like investing in a full-out story, and looking for a bit of entertainment.

A nice collection of short stories. Most of them had my mouth open at the end because I was not expecting that twist!

Listen… There needs to be a special padded room at Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital for every major character in every one of these stories!

This is my first time reading Samayra Alexander’s work, and she most definitely did not disappoint! From start to finish, “Twisted Endings” had me completely hooked. I enjoyed everything about this book. The title and intriguing cover set the tone for the dark, unexpected turns. And what really stood out to me was the anticipation of predicting the “Twisted Endings” in each story. I thought I had it all figured out, only to be totally surprised every time.  If you like a book that is as entertaining as it is unnerving… This is that!!! 1-Click and read what all of my hype is about!

Be prepared for anything when you pick up Twisted Endings by Samyra Alexander. The unexpected surprises in each story made this an absolute page turner. Just the titles alone let you know you’re in for an electrifying experience:

• Family Meeting
• New Year, New Me…Now What?
• If You’re Reading This Letter
• Crappy Grandmammy
• He Hurt Me. How Could He?
• The Motivational Speaker
• Exposed

I loved how each story was uniquely different while having a few things in common, such as The Hamilton Psychiatric Facility! I had several laugh out loud moments especially when reading the Crappy Grandmammy. (My favorite) So, if you must, check the trigger warnings, and brace yourself for a twisty, thrill ride.

I Didn’t See That Coming

I give Twisted Endings 5 out of 5 stars, I couldn’t believe how each story ended. The craziest and most surprising things you could think to do in each of these stories and that’s what happened. Yes, this book has violence and abuse from most of the main characters in each story. I believe these people were at the end of their rope and just lost it. I do appreciate how each story got crazier. I had my mouth open the whole time. There are some crazy people out there once you get past all the secrets. Oh and don’t judge a book by its cover.

Creative!

Each of these stories was unique and creative. The twists were well placed and I guessed most of them but each story also had a twist I didn't guess. I love when authors do this. Looking forward to the next read!

Nearly everyone in this collection of short stories needs therapy or go to the psychiatric hospital. Twisted stories, indeed.
It wasn't quite to my liking, but it was well-written. (Just needs more description on the race of the characters.)

I went into Twisted Endings hoping for a gripping, twisty thriller and while the concept had promise, the execution unfortunately didn't work for me.
The storyline felt disjointed, with multiple plot twists that seemed to appear more for shock value than to serve the narrative. There was also a lot of religion that just didn’t work for me personally. I often found myself confused about character motivations which is important to me. I really wanted to connect with the characters but the emotional depth just wasn't there.
I also listed to the audiobook and the narration also detracted from the experience.
The delivery felt flat and lacked the nuance needed to bring tension or distinct character voices to life.
In a genre where I believe tone is everything, this made it harder to stay immersed in the story.
While this book might appeal to listeners who enjoy fast-moving plots, it wasn't a good fit for me.

Diabolical & Deranged. I listened via audio and boy, what an experience! I wanted to stop but I had to keep going and see it through. The narrator did a good job bringing these deranged stories to life! Two short stories that stuck with me:
“If You’re Reading This Letter”-
This one was beyond challenging to digest. When the trauma you’ve endured leads you to ending it all…. what do you do… who finally saves you, if they can. *sigh*
“The Motivational Speaker”-
Sadistic! Be careful who you try to confront, they may very well be your worst nightmare!

I received the audio for this book from the author and it really added an extra layer to the stories for me. Each short story had me thinking I knew where it was headed and then BOOM—Samyra said, “Plot twist!” and snatched the rug from under me.

The way these stories are written? So vivid, so engaging. I felt like I was in the room watching everything unfold. The first story left something to be desired but the rest were good. Some endings had me clutching my pearls, others had me laughing, and a few had me just staring at the wall like, “Now why would she do that to me?!”

What I really love is that no story overstayed its welcome—quick hits that pack a punch and leave you rethinking what you just read. If you enjoy juicy, wild, and unexpected endings, this collection will give you exactly what you're looking for and then some.

So yes, I 100% recommend picking this up. Samyra Alexander did what needed to be done. 👏🏽👏🏽

This was such a great, fun read — and at times even funny (but I'm mentally unwell). It hits such a sweet spot of being dark, twisted, a little unhinged, and VERY entertaining. The stories play with your brain in a clever, layered way — like little psychological puzzles. It drowned me in this feeling of being constantly kept guessing, and then rewards you with its out-of-pocket endings. I listened to some parts over and over, which is a testament to how entertaining and replay-worthy the twists were. Funny, quick, and fun — and it leaves you with something to think and talk about, i loved it

If you love short stories with jaw dropping twists, you will enjoy Twisted Endings. Samyra Alexander's seven unpredictable stories dive into everything from messy relationships to personal struggles. The characters feel real, and the twist were so crazy! I had to go back and listen again a couple of times because I couldn’t believe what I just heard. I wish that some of the stories were longer!

I love books that have several small stories all in one. I get to go through different emotions. The author made it to where I could relate to what they were all feeling in each story. A good read for those who love psychological thrillers!
