DNF. Tapped out when he started listing the reasons why people don't exercise and used the quote " Would you rather exercise for 30 minutes or be dead" or something along those lines. The general health content was fine but the tone of the book felt condescending and like it was trying to guilt trip people into taking care of their health. Worst health related book I've read!
Surely this author is not a medical doctor. The amount of broad sweeping purposefully misleading statements is astounding. Ablest, male centered and fat-phobic. Sure fire way to get angry at a book. Reads like self help from the 90’s. Don’t waste your time.
Couldn’t find this Goodreads so I could check out if this will be worth my time….should’ve tried harder to spare myself from this. The premise is right up my non-fiction alley, and jeez Louise did it take me forever to gather the will to finish…
This book was a lot of common sense. Exercising is good for you. Smoking is bad for you. Get to know your body and what is right and wrong. But is always positive to have these things confirmed and some of the science was really interesting. An inspiring book to start the New Year.
DNF audiobook, 90 minutes in. Writing style not grabbing me. Some new content to me, but not much so far. Audio Narration too fast for my listening too.
As a health teacher I enjoyed the read. It was nothing new to me. Perhaps if I was less informed around health data and healthy habits I may have got more out of this.
