This anthology was so much fun! I loved all the different takes on magic/witches but also how cohesive the collection was. My favorite stories were:

-"Spells for Inept Witches" by BV Beuge: I wish this was a full-length novel! I want to know more about why Nora's family is in charge of this doorway to another world and I want more scenes with Nora and Emry.
-"Spells for the Watercolorist" by BA McRae: I loved the concept of this story since I'm a sucker for plots where characters go into books, paintings, movies, games, etc. Again, I wish this was a full-length novel! I need more info on if the shepherd was good or not.. the overall vibe was that a romance would blossom between the two characters, but the shepherd was also giving evil vibes which I thought could be cool if developed more.
-"Spells for Philoxenia" by B. Wilder was my second favorite story in this anthology. I love a transformation/curse story. There were so many cool details in this story that I wish had time to be flushed out.
-"Spells for Unwanted Neighbors" by Monroe Wildrose was my top story in this collection! It had intriguing magic, a well-flushed-out background for the MC, and a cute romance. I also love a plus-size FMC who is hot and knows ittttt.

All in all, this was a super fun collection to read in the falltime weather! Super cozy.

3'5 / 5 ⭐

I've been lucky to receive an arc of this anthology in exchange for my honest opinion. It contains seven short stories written bu different authors, and as such the style varies a lot between stories. I enjoyed reading some of them even if I resonated with or liked more some than others. Overall they are great to read during an autumn afternoon, cozily wrapped up in a blanket or curled up in bed. They share the theme of magical witchy stories but each of them has its own little twist. I would've loved to see a bit more of development in some of the stories, but being a short anthology I understand there wasn't much space to develop a full story. In the end they feel a bit like fairytales, and reading this made me think of a collection of fairytales around the world I loved as a child, which made me enjoy the anthology so much more.

I'd recommend picking this book up if you're looking for cozy, witchy stories, or if you enjoy magical stories with a dash of romance and good friendships.

I absolutely loved the concept of this book; a variety of authors creating cozy witchy stories. I really enjoyed the opening with a poem. This was a read outside of my normal comfort zone, but it definitely has a wide appeal. With being a collection of short stories, this book is one you can pick it up to read the next story at any point, as a mood reader, I love that!.

A delightful collection of ten cozy fantasy stories in this autumnal anthology. Witches dance under the full moon, weaving magic and romance. Each tale casts a spell, whisking readers away to a world where enchantment and warmth intertwine.

Pros:
Atmospheric Setting: The authors excel at creating cozy, immersive environments. From crackling hearths to misty forests, the settings come alive.
Diverse Characters: A variety of witches—quirky, wise, and mysterious—populate these pages. Their unique personalities add depth.
Romantic Undertones: Love blooms amidst cauldrons and spellbooks. The romantic elements are sweet and satisfying.

Cons:
Pacing: Some stories could benefit from tighter pacing. A brisker tempo would enhance engagement.
Predictability: A few plot twists are telegraphed early on. Surprise factor could be heightened.

Overall, A Grimoire of Honeyed Spells is a delightful brew of magic, love, and autumnal charm. A perfect read for cozy nights by the fire!.

Definitely a big fan of most of the stories. There were 2 or 3 that I wasn’t able to fully connect with, or that kind of missed the mark for me.

Objectively though, the way the authors were able to capture the atmosphere and story perfectly within so little pages amazed me. There are definitely some authors I want to check out and read more from. I think my favorite stories were Spells for Teashop Strays and Spells for Philoxenia, which I admit are kind of similar in tropes but still very different in execution and setting. It really was fascinating to see a world built and a homely feeling created in so little words. Makes me wonder why other people are unable to do it in 400 pages.

A great anthology for a cozy rainy day or just in between irl responsibilities.

I love the idea for this book, but I think by nature, since there are multiple authors, the quality varies. There were seven stories total. Two stories were enjoyable enough that I was wishing for more at the end. Two were overly wordy and I ended up skimming (they were also weirdly similar stories). One was just frustrating and didn't make a lot of sense. The other two were cute. However, the book as a whole had editing errors throughout (spelling mistakes, sentence fragments, etc.) and multiple stories that included a lot of irrelevant details or plot holes, so I didn't ever feel like I got fully into it. With some editing, this book could be a very cute, cozy read!.

This anthology is made up of seven different short stories to kick off Fall the right way. Some are quirky and lighthearted. Some are steamy and a little lustful. Some are funny and mysterious. But all have magnetic characters I couldn’t help but be drawn to.

They are all SO different so there is something for everyone, and while I did have my favorites - I can honestly say that I enjoyed them all. I spent much of my afternoon yesterday reading these and honestly can’t think of a better way to celebrate the first day of Fall.

If you’re looking for cozy vibes with some amazing witches, I cannot recommend this little book of warmth more.

P.S. this is the only time I will be okay with tea over coffee, because the vibes were vibing.

There were seven short stories within the pages of this read along with an opening poem that set the stage wonderfully. If your into the witchy vibe I would recommend this easy read. Although not all of the stories resonated with me at a five star many of them came extremely close. The creativity that went into this makes each story interesting in its own way. Animals, classic witchy, some romance, tickle your heart events, fantasy, nature.

I rated this book based on my average rating of the poem and each short story.

3.5/5 - This anthology of witch focused short stories was a nice easy read. Some of the short stories I liked more than others for various reasons including completeness and writing style. Many stories were charming and I do not feel that I wasted my time reading this collection. The stories all resolve very very quickly with minimal (if any) serious angst, danger etc. so if you're just looking for a book that you can enjoy with a hot cup of tea without fear of spilling hot water on yourself going "OHMIGOSH" this is the book for you. It's sweet and cute and sometimes that's all you need from a book.

The gorgeous cover art sucked me in and the stories within did not disappoint. All of them had excellent world and character-building and very different tones. From cozy romances filled with humor, scares, and mystery, to a sad and cautionary fairy tale. I couldn't pick a favorite as each story was so different but the darkest story, Spells for Growing Old Together by H.S. Jackson really stuck with me. Inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne and the film The VVitch? Yes please. The tarot card art between each story is also a nice touch.

Every story welcomes you in and feels like a friend. It truly is ‘cozy’. The characters are relatable and each story has its own vibe while all blending together in one anthology so well. It is a book full of stories that you will find yourself thinking of and popping into your mind for years to come. Quips that are catchy and could slip their way into your day. Definitely recommend curling up with this book and a cup of tea or coffee with your favorite sweater and blanket.

This anthology will have you dreaming of cool fall nights & wishing for a cup of cider.

While not all the little stories are my cup of tea, they were all entertaining & very cozy. I enjoyed the ones written by Williams & Wildrose in particular. If you are looking for the perfect curl-by-the-fire book, look no further!

I found this book so unique in one way it was like a spell book and another way. It was a conversation between characters in each chapter even though every story was different, I felt they flow together almost. The art gave it that cozy feel of something you’d read by a fire. the characters felt very flashed out and real. I would read anything from these authors and these books again.

Each story definitely leaves you wanting more in the best way! I can’t wait to see if these authors expand on their short stories! 5/5 would recommend!.

This is a good book with a different way of what happens when crossing a witch. It is slow at the beginning and had me questioning what this is all about. I kept reading and as the story kept going the more I was hooked.

This is the perfect fall read to dive into wrapped up in a blanket by the fire with a warm cup of tea.

As with any anthology, I enjoyed some of the stories more than others - but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the collection as a whole. Each one brought me into their cozy little world.

This book is for you if you enjoy tales involving witches and magic, folklore, cozy settings, light romance, and perfect fall vibes.
