The Book Soul

Rate this book
Elsie Shufflebottom is bored to begin with. As bored as a door nail... That is, until she is handed The Book of Providence by ageing librarian, Kerrigan Sheriwinkle, and asked to help in his search to find his heir. However, with Kerrigan's arch-nemesis, Mr Sparkles, waiting in the wings to steal both the book and the library, Elsie begins to realise that there is a much darker plot in motion. A whole way of life is in jeopardy, as Elsie finds herself in a race against the clock to unearth the truth. The answers, of course, are all in the book. The problem: the book is completely blank.

Librarian note: There is more than one author in the GoodReads database with this name

Rachel Mann has been writing for as long as she can remember. She has since compiled a large collection of short stories and plays, many of which have been commissioned by local schools and Youth Theatres. She became a published poet in 1996 and has appeared on HTV's 'Artifax, ' after her adaptation of Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' was used as part of a community project. 'The Book Soul' is her debut novel, a venture, in her own words that has been 'long overdue.'
