The third edition of the leading introduction to traditional buildings contains a completely new chapter that carries forward the story to the Vernacular Revival of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and shows its influence on houses of today.
Very interesting, though I tend to feel that much of the value is in the way in which this book is illustrated and the captions for the images. The actual text, though also valuable and educational, tends toward the dry (which isn't unexpected, but is unfortunate). The illustrations and overall content, however, are a really interesting introduction to vernacular architecture in Britain.
