Rate this book
The rocky shore of Stage Island captures a body drifting in the outgoing tide of a new moon. LT Nichols, Laurel, Maine’s chief of police, discovers that it’s the son of Laurel’s most noteworthy summer resident, Randolph Grimes, the sitting US Secretary of Commerce. The case is deemed too big for the small-town Nichols. A United States marshal is flown in from Washington. When she arrests one of Laurel’s native sons for murder, Nichols has his doubts. He launches his own investigation. A host of federal agents line up to shut him down. That’s when the real trouble starts.

Flood Tide is a great crime mystery book. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend reading this book. It's about a guy who is found dead, his father is trying to make the cops rule it as a accident without doing a investigation. This is a fast paces who done it that kept my attention throughout the entire book.

I would like to thank Goodreads for hosting the Giveaways where I won this book!!

The second in a crime series staring LT Nichols, a small town chief of police from Maine, who is faced with a murder investigation involving the son of a big time political operative. The feds want to shut the case down but Nichols has his doubts as to their motivations, continues his unauthorized investigation, and ends up uncovering a far more interesting mystery. Fast paced and fun.

This book keeps you in from the beginning and doesn't let you go. A page turner for sure. The main character is a likeable guy and I'm looking forward to more in the series.

The second in the LT Nichols mystery series raises the bar, with a tightly written story that delivers an appealing whodunit. The stylistically noir narrative pits small-town cop Nichols against a series of powerful forces trying desperately to keep him from doing the right thing. Strong dialog and many layers of intrigue and social commentary throughout make this a great follow-up to the Ruins of Woodman’s Village. I’d consider it a must-read for crime fiction fans.
