This needs more than 5 stars!!

I will start off by saying this is the fourth and final
Book in the series, you will want to read the others first and check your trigger warnings.

Of course Brittany delivers us another knock out with Collin and Kay! I have been waiting for these two to have the spotlight and it was everything I could have wanted!!

Collin is the perfect morally grey villain! I love him for being the best kind of bad guy. His devotion for Kay is swoon worthy for a mafia boss who constantly kills people😈.

Kay is such a badass!! Her past and present self is strong and determined and drawn to the darkness. Her ability to love Collin as fiercely as she does is beautiful!

I loved how this story played out in the final installment! It will give you answers and stand offs as well as leave some room for what the future holds! This was a perfect conclusion to a series that combined sports and the mafia, two of my favorites!! Be warned there is some great steam and so much spice you will need to fan yourself with your kindle😉!

WHAT AN ENDING!! I absolutely loved that this book focused on Kay & Collin and gave them both a chance at redemption. The Author tied up all of the loose ends from throughout the series and I was on the edge of my seat throughout. Each of the three couples whose perspectives we read in the series really dug their way into my heart and I was incredibly invested. I'm still yet to read the extra book in the series Slugger which will focus on Jeremy & Casey, and I'm excited to know that the Author's upcoming series is based on the street racing community they are from.

Hear me out. I did not like Collin at all in the prior books. He was cold, mean, a betrayer, he killed people all the time, and he freaking left Kay for dead in an abandoned building for 2 weeks.

But the author, Brittany, sure does know how to make this villain seem human. She shows us his internal battles and the thing that he wants most, even though he tries to push it away. You see him through Kay’s eyes and get to rifle around in his own mind. You see the ways he uses his darkness to protect and show love the only way he learned how.

This book gives a great grand finale to the series, I couldn’t even guess what was going to happen next. So much is going on, you will have to read it twice to get it all.

Brittany’s writing has gotten stronger since book 1 and her story telling has increased ten fold. You will not want to miss this one.

As always, with Brittany’s books, there are dark themes, trauma, super spicy scenes and TW to read first. Enjoy!

This was a beautiful ending to a beautiful series. If you like dark sports romances, badass female characters, morally grey men, mafia, tainted FBI agents, and found families that have each other’s backs. Then you’ll LOVE this series!

"He was my demon, the one who haunted my dreams and thoughts, but I was his angel. I would bring him into the light. Even if it meant letting him drag me into the dark."

I discovered earlier this year that I LOVE redemption stories and this most definitely is a redemption story. Throughout this series I have had an extremely strong dislike for Collin (which I get it...we are suppose to) and I could not figure out how in the world Brittany would redeem him. She not only redeemed him she has him as my second favorite of the men in this series. Totally did not see that one coming.

Collin is a very complex character, or so it seemed, until his plans are finally revealed and you think back on the entire series and totally get it....everything connected into place. He is like one huge magic trick....while you are watching him he is only letting you see what he wants you to see not what he is actually doing. Karina though....she sees him....all of him.

She is 100% the light to his darkness. I love how he is her demon and she is his angel. It really works with these two. His love for her is true and he is fiercely protective of her....even when it comes to things in her past from before they met. There is no limit to what he will do for her and vice versa. Kay is willing to lose her family for Collin. Her love for him is that deep and strong. No matter what gets thrown their way she will not leave his side. He is it for her no matter the consequences.

While each book in this series focuses on a specific couple all of the characters you come to love appear quite a bit. The main storyline is ongoing in each book. I definitely recommend reading these books in order for the full effect. Ms. Ann wrapped things up nicely with her epilogue.

I wasn't convinced Brittany was gonna make me like Collin but she said "hold my drink" and went and made me fall in love 🙃 I love me a fictional bad boy and Collin is a self confessed demon but we finally get to see all his sides. Brittany has only made us privy to Collin the villain, the hit man, the enemy but in Grand Slam we get to meet Collin the survivor, the lover, the friend. He has fought to stay alive, fought to find his place and, whilst he is morally (very dark) grey, he still has heart and we see that through his love of his Angel. The touch her and die vibes are *strong* with this one since those who have touched her do literally die by his hands 👏🏻

We don't know much about Kay previous to this book but we find that she is as strong as she is beautiful. She is called the light to his darkness but she holds a little darkness in her too and that's what makes her and Collin a perfect fit. She sees Collin, really sees who is inside, and she uses that knowledge and that power to help him let her in and boyyyy is it beautiful when they finally let themselves love. The spice in this is *chefs kiss* and the use of Daddy was surprising but very much enjoyed. Brittany writes possessive hotties with itchy palms and filthy mouths and I'm absolutely here for it.

The road has been rough for this gang and it'll probably always be but the soft romantic in me absolutely loved that everyone gets their HEA 🥲

Ok, so hear me out. Nothing crushes my soul more than being utterly encompassed by a series and then having the final installment be lackluster or the final wrap up fall short. I cannot bear being left feeling underwhelmed. The ending to a series can either make or break you and I promise you, Brittany and her decision to end the series with Collin and Kay, DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The absolute CHOKEHOLD that all of these MMCs have had on me since Dean in book 1 is unmatched and the fierce and fiery FMCs are top tier. Perfectly balanced plot and spice just as all of the books of the series before it, this book is just yet another impressive notch in Brittany’s literary belt. I have said it so many times before and I will say it again, I am absolutely DEVASTATED I waited as long as I did to read these books, but now that the series is complete, I miss these characters and this family of misfits already. Do not hesitate to pick any and all of these stories up, and dive head first, you will not regret it. My saving grace is looking forward to Jeremy’s novella for one final hoorah in this corrupt and gritty world Brittany has created. Very, very well done! 5/5 very well deserved stars.

Oh, and the spice level and delivery is absolutely DECADENT. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Just when you think a series can't give you any more Whiplash - in walks Grand Slam.

I was fully confident and invested in my opinion of Collin. Then @authorbrittanyann_
Humanises him.

Wow. What a book. Who would have thought an Angel and a Demon, with the whole world against them could be a perfect match.

Once again. The multiple POV is perfectly done. The way Brittany Ann write is flawless. The plot never wavers and when you think you know where you're going here comes the rollercoaster. Karina and Collin. She should hate him. Despise him. Want him dead. Yet her love for him overrules everything. One of the best series use ever read. Hands down.

🖤 Quotes 🖤

“That’s twice you have tried to kill me, maybe the next time you won’t strike out and it will be a grand slam.”

“My mama used to say that when your soulmate was near, the world would slow down for you. So that you could appreciate the magic.”

He made the hottest sounds. It was fucking porn to me. I loved it.

“No, Angel. The eyes of the dead don’t deserve to see you coming undone on my cock for me.”

3.5⭐️ - ugh, you know you’re a little messed up when this couple is your favorite. He’s a serial killer/hitman for the mafia and she’s his captive. But I stand by my feelings, it’s the best of a not so great bunch.

Kayla/Karina was taken in the previous book by our old friend, now hitman for the mafia, Collin. Collin and Karina have apparently been inevitable since nearly ten years ago when they met.

While Karina is his captive, Collin has provided her own room, has kept her well fed and gave her all new clothes. She has been well cared for and has been allowed access to his entire house. While her family is worried and looking for her, she knows she is safe with her demon.

Collin is finally beginning to unravel the effects of his “Dark King” (and secret father) throughout the book. He is starting to connect the dots and realize that he’s been played. When this happens, he begins to enact a plan to bring down his empire, or at least take over as heir.

Overall I did enjoy this book the most out of the series, it definitely was a mafia romance though, I wouldn’t even consider this a sports romance. The plot was interesting enough to overlook the massive spelling and typo errors, but all in all was a pretty meh series.

Well, pun intended when I say this was a grand slam. Brittany wrapped this story up perfectly, with the extra little box taped on the top! Another gift is coming if you don't wanna stay away from this family of friends.

True definition of villian gets the girl, but I don't see Collin as the villian. The love story between him and Kay is a unique one. Years of pining and unspoken words leads Kay to snap and stand up to him, giving him all of her, and taking all of him

"“You keep calling for the wrong man, baby. There is no God here,” 🥵

Of course, the badass group of family and friends she has don't give up looking for Kay, or Haley.
And my man Dean is still shining 😍
#iamteamDean

"“How ya doing, boss?” he asked with a snarky smile.
Dean Connors. The smartass, ladies and gentlemen."

In the action, the interrogations and the bonds and feelings of the families intertwined. I cannot wait to keep seeing the guys and ladies pop up in future books.

Holy crap i can't tell you how much I loved this book!

In this book the villain does get the girl and I've never been happier for that. I rooted for them since the beginning.

We got several povs which I loved bc there was A LOT going on in this book and that made us get some insight into what was happening with everyone. I do think that the story was very well written. It had a plot that didn't feel rushed while still having a lot of romance.

For the characters i loved them all. Collin was someone that was very misunderstood mainly bc he did really bad stuff and wouldn't confine in anyone😭😭 but because we got his pov we saw how much he actually cared for his friends and especially for Kay.

Collin and Kay had me going through every emotion. You can just tell how much love they have for each other. Even though Collin was supposed to be a ruthless killer he still had a soft side. They also had some very steamy scenes.

Idk how the author did it but this is one of the rare books that didn't make me cringe when they used the word daddy😭 the mouth Collin has on him has me melting.

4.5⭐️ rounded up.

This is book 4 and continues the Batter Up series. These are not stand alones in any way! This book focused mainly on Karina and Colin. There are time jumps and multiple POVs. Collin is the antihero I wasn’t expecting to love! He is as so tormented, he’s life has been terrible and he has had to endure and survive so much, it made him what he was. But I love that Karina was always his weak spot even if he did terrible things to her and her family. Karina has endured a secret pain for years but it was Collin and her love for him that has given her so much hope. Karina wears him down when he has resisted her for so long and I loved the push and pull. Karina is badass and so strong for never giving up. She knew she would have to stand up to her family to fight for their love and girl was ready to battle! This book is technically the last in the series and I loved how it ends! Every character gets a wonderful resolution that had me smiling so big. And while this series is over, it paves the way for another series in the Brittanyverse! This was the longest book of the series but I could not put it down, finished in 24 hours!!

This is the final book in the Batter Up Series (not counting the novella 4.5) and I can say hands down that this was my favourite. And I think Collin and Kay are without a doubt my favourite couple.

Collin Stevens! What can I say? He’s a demon who is in love with an angel. He gave me everything I needed from his broodiness to his soft side with Kay. The Mafia King is what I have been needing to satisfying my Mafia needs and boy did he deliver. His character is impeccable with his charm and his darkness. I want him and I want him now.

Kay Jones. A spitfire as well as an angel. I loved her character and she is definitely my favourite of the girls. Her feisty protectiveness gives her the charm she possesses to have Collin falling over himself for her. The love she has for the man and for her family is admirable and I love her!

Overall, the book was fantastic and a brilliant end the to story. The twists and turns were great and the story flowed so well. Brittany Ann is becoming my new favourite author and I need all of her book on my shelf right this minute.

The fourth book in the series has some serious actions and is high on emotions. The plot is thick from the start and takes off in a very addicting way. The need to know what comes next makes the story already like love for me. I admire how Brittany wrote the story of Kay and Collin and gave insights from all the characters' points of view. It’s a multiple-POV book and I enjoy a story more when I get to know everything from every angle. It clears the picture more vividly.

Kay is the real Angel in this dark world and her character is soft with strength in her heart. She’s the sweetest of all. Collin is the hitman who is on everybody’s radar and is the villain of the story for everyone except Kay. The intense chemistry is fully enjoyable and the spice is next level. I am all for the stories of ‘touch her and die’, possessive males are everything. There is a lot of action going on throughout the book.

There are so many lines the author wrote in every chapter which I loved and couldn’t stop myself from highlighting. Read the series in sequence to understand the background and emotions of the characters that follow in this book. Happy reading.

It’s a 4.5⭐️ for me.

Sports Romance, Second Chance, Mafia Romance, Series

⚾️Quick Synopsis: Kay is supposed to hate Collin with everything she has. He has caused her and her family so much pain. However, Kay can’t help but love the bad guy that is currently holding her hostage. Collin will do anything to keep his feelings for Kay locked up while trying to keep her out of harms way. Kay’s friends and family will do anything to get her back. Will Kay be able to break down Collins wall or will she learn to hate him like she should?

⚾️Liked: This book was just as amazing as the authors last book. I could not stop reading this book and was so hard to put down. The characters chemistry and growth was phenomenally written. Having read all of the other books in the series I did not see this ending and was not disappointed. This book just like the others was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This review is for all those who want to read this Finale but haven’t read the first three books. As I said in a previous post that Batter up is similar to Runyx’s Dark Verse and you should read all the books in the correct order. I, however, am a different story 🙈 I WENT INTO IT ALL BLIND except the knowledge of the tropes and blurb. But surprisingly it took me only 3 chapters to integrate myself completely into the BU world 🥀

This book was written perfectly and believe me when I say that this book will suck you right in🌷

The characters and the way they developed and evolved is worth mentioning. I loved to see the gang come together and take down the darkness. The main highlight for me was THE DEVIL himself and his angel 🥰

I found a new husband in Collin Stevens. This man 🥵🙈
Such a dirty mouth on a wicked man 🙃💘 and I found the redemption trope for this guy amazing as hell! Rest is for you to discover yourself! ;)

I absolutely loved loved loved BADASS GWEN😩 I saw her and I was like DAYUMMMM 😌

and Jeremy and Casey, circling around each other like sharks but with *heart eyes … we all will have to wait for SLUGGER 🤫🥹

What a way to finish out a series! I think Grand Slam jumped to the top of my favorite list of the series! Collin was everything we needed and more, and honestly so was Kay. This entire group of characters and their stories has left such a mark on me! Also, I won't even begin to try and lie. Collin definitely dethroned Dean as my favorite BU guy... I am not even sorry about it. I am a sucker for a bad boy with a big heart! This book drew out all the emotions for me & the spice was just *chefs kiss* perfection! Collin had me really second guessing my moral compass plenty of times because I refused to stop being #TeamCollin & I found myself relating to Kay in more ways than one. I am heartbroken that this is the last one for the Batter Up series, but I am so thankful the ending was done perfectly!

Beautiful Dark Monster 😈🥵

I don’t know how Brittany does it! I fell absolutely head over heels for this series. Each book had multiple point of views where you learn alittle deeper about each person. The characters all pull you in and make you feel so many emotions. But never did I think I would fall in love with a person like Collin. But I truly see him the way Kay sees him. He is beautiful with all his dark glory. All thru out this series I completely despised him. The fact that he continued to hurt people who were in his “friend” group, but little by little… the ice around his heart started to melt and crack away all thanks to his angel 🩵 each book has some SERIOUS drama and complete chaos which kept me on my toes with so much fear and excitement. Hands down perfection!

Do we always end up loving the villain?
The character development for Collin over this series is perfect! We hated him and now, well I can’t get enough!

But there’s always a beacon of light and that comes in the form of Kay, I’m so happy to see how this book ended for her, it’s something I’ve been rooting for but always felt as if it was always going to be our of reach. He’s her safety and they understand the darkness they both harbour.

This book brings a brilliant end(ish) to this series, it’s dark, fast paced and multiple POV’s that’s keep you on your toes. All relationships are unique and well written.

I can’t wait to see what Brittany writes next!

Full of drama, this ties the series up so well!

Collin is not someone I expected to like, but he definitely redeemed himself here. There's far more to him (and his behaviour) than you realise, and Kay knew this (deep down) and believed in him. I loved Kay and Collin together and really enjoyed their story.

I also liked that we got to read from multiple points of view, so we could follow along with each character from the series and see how their stories ended.

A great end to the series!

Grand Slam? More like Slam Dunk!

Okay, dodgy pun aside, this book was an amazing one to close off the series with maaaaaybe the possibility of revisiting the world in the future. Looking at you miss author 👀

Everyone loves a morally grey hero and Collin is just that. You cannot change my mind how much he just adores kay. Gave me 'touch her and 🔪 vibes'. Kay definitely gave off angel vibes with a hit of I'll be the one to fix the broken hitman. Lmfao i loved it. The ending how it tied everything up perfect. An amazing job I 100% recommend 👏🏼

Grand Slam

Brittany Ann’s Batter Up series is nothing short of a Grand Slam itself. Collin and Karina’s story is EVERYTHING. I am pretty sure Collin may be in my top 3 favorite book boyfriends ever, actually. The end to the series was bittersweet and I found myself wanting even more epilogues just to stay with these characters. I couldn’t recommend Brittany Ann’s books more. I’ve read them all and none of them disappoint. They’ve had me up until 2-3 am on more than one night just because I cannot put them down.

No spoilers. Read on Kindle via Kindle Unlimited.

No surprise here that Brittany had us on a wild ride with this book. This is a dark romance, that had all the thrill, spice, darkness, and everything I like. It had my attention throughout the whole book, and I could not "flip" the pages fast enough, I am sad that batter up is completed, but her other books continue to be amazing and I cannot wait to continue her other series and new series.

Would I recommend this? Yes, if you are okay with trigger warnings, you will enjoy this whole series and her other series.

Good book. Good ending. The only thing I'm very disappointed in, is that we didn't get Jeremy and Casey's story. I REALLY liked him in book two. I liked him with Gwen. I wanted him to get his story because he deserved it. In this series, he ends up with Casey. But it's in the background. There's literally not even hardly a scene of them together alone. I think they got one, max. That was a real let down. She really made you like him, and he does get a happy ending, but you didn't get to see any of it.

Oh man. What a way to end this wonderful series. I devoured this whole series in 2 days. I could not put them down. Who needs sleep? I am so glad that we get a conclusion for all the characters. I am so amazed at how good this series is. It was for sure a 10/10 for me and one that I will always recommend to every! Brittany did a fantastic job with this series and I can not wait for more from her! This is for sure a series that you want to go into blind. Amazing work!

What do you get when a devil and an angel fall in love? This fantastic, perfectly written story. I was given character growth, steamy sexy times, flawed people deserving of love, all wrapped neatly in a sports romance, mafia, second chance package. I haven't read the other three books in the series and even so I felt like I got the perfect ending only for Collin and Kay but for "the gang" as well.

These two. I knew that these two were going to break me for a long time, and they did. And then they put me back together.

Collin is unapologetically not a good person, but he has exactly one soft spot…Kay. And he will burn the world down to protect her… from everyone except himself.

She shows him her darkest side, and Collin being who he is doesn’t shy away.

This is the heart pounding conclusion to Brittany Ann’s Batter Up series, and you don’t want to miss it!

Why did o fall in love with the villain?! Colin was the worst. And then, he was the best. *swoon* This whole series was on the edge of your seat, face red, tears streaming down your face! I laughed, I cried, I blushed hard, and I got a bit hot and bothered! I would read this series over and over again! Brittany hit it out of the park with this one!!!! 😉

This series had me locked in for a week while I tore through every book. I was looking for something to break my lull and this definitely did the trick. This is probably the spiciest of the series and had “he will burn the world down for her” energy hard. I love that there is realistic psychological thoughts for the characters and it’s so so good.
