When a famous TV journalist is murdered, the media spotlight falls on the Barn. Captain Aceveda orders everyone to be on their best behavior - which hampers the style of Vic Mackey and his Strike Team. As with the popular TV show, interweaving cases affect everyone on the force, with suspenseful and surprising results.

I miss this show so much!! It’s criminally underrated when it comes to people listing the greatest TV shows. How come they never made a spinoff about Dutch and Billings? And why is Acaveda so consistently a piece of crap? Watch The Shield, people!! Or, if you’re like me and already watched it four times, then read this comic.
I have actually never watched an episode of The Shield, but I plan to eventually buy the entire series and binge watch. I assume the series will be better than this comic series, and if that's true, it must be quite the series. Sons of Anarchy is one of my all time favorite shows, and it basically grew from the ashes of The Shield. That made me decide to check this out, plus all of the great things I've heard about the show. The art is really good as well, and the characters are recognizable as their actor counterparts.
This comic series was really good. It showed the corruption of Vic Mackey and his strike team, as well as corruption higher up. It also showed the good working to clean things up. I'm sure if you are a fan of the show, you'll like the series. And honestly, if you haven't even seen the show, like me, you'll still like this series.I recommend it to any fans of comics and crime drama.
I'd recommend this Shield comic book collection to any reader that is a fan of the former FX show. The dialogue always rung true to how the characters talked and acted and luckily the artist IDW hired drew the story well enough that there was never a confusing panel or moment and all the characters were easily recognizable. I place the Shield in my top 5 all-time best television dramas ever.
A decent stand-alone "Shield" storyline. The artwork is good, the dialogue is, for the most part, fairly well written and the story is an interesting one within the moral ambiguity of "The Shield" universe.
