Developed by a renowned team of experts, and described by critics as leading the field, these acclaimed books entice prereaders by using color photographs of children. The pictures provide clues to the simple words on the page, so when the students hear the repetitive sounds, they begin to associate sounds with letters With one sentence per page, the clean format builds critical confidence in recognizing consonants, vowels, blends, and digraphs.
Alice K. Flanagan has written books on many subjects. Exploring Parks with Ranger Dockett is just one of her books about jobs. Many children enjoy her books about birds. She has also written books telling about different Native American groups.
"Dogs: The Sound of D" by Alice K. Flanagan is a great resource for your child when they're learning how to read and pronounce words...also the pictures that accompanied the sentence of each page was great!!! My daughter really liked it, was excited about going through it and could name all the colors. The author also included a vocabulary list of the "d" words she used in the book - "dig" and "dogs". As a parent, I really thought this feature was a great complement to the book because I can use those words in making flash cards for my child for us to go over and over again. I give it 5 stars.
Phonics series. Enjoyable title about dogs...offers one of the better flows of story than other titles in the series. Photos are both fun and touching.
