A romantic rags-to-riches saga. From life as an underage cam girl in Fresno to mansions and prep schools in Malibu, one girl tries to stay true to herself. Ella Sinclair is a survivor. She’s fierce, brave, and jaded. She finds herself a teenage orphan in dead-end Fresno trying to stay afloat and finish high school on her own. Enter The Royals. Through circumstances Ella can barely believe, wealthy father-of-four sons, Callum Royal, plucks Ella out of poverty and welcomes her into their posh lifestyle a world away in elegant Malibu. Even though both Royal boys are intriguing, the most magnetic is the oldest, Reed Royal. Reed seems determined to keep Ella from settling comfortably into her new charmed life amongst the rich kids of Malibu. But what is Reed hiding? Ella is just as determined to come through it all with her soul intact. Based from the book Paper Princess by Erin Watt
I actually really enjoyed this sort of audiobook! It was my first audiobook and I loved that it had sound effects and different voice actors like you are watching a movie but with only the audio. This was filled with drama and after each episode I wanted to listen to the next immediately. Ella sometimes got on my nerves and was a little ‘pick me’ at times but it was a fun pallet cleanser.
I can’t wait for season 3! If anyone has any recommendations like this one, please let me know!🩷
I absolutely loved the Erin Watt books, so I was thrilled to learn that this podcast series existed! The story is slightly different from the books (as in: different setting, more pop culture references and there are three Royal brothers absent in the podcast series), but it’s still great to relive this series. I forgot that there was so much drama! The voice actors really did a great job bringing this story to life.
It's surprisingly interesting. Love how it has a lot more sound effects than an ordinary audiobook, and every character has a different voice. It's almost like everything happens around you. It's like a tv-show just for your ears. Can't wait to listen to season 3.
SHUT UP. This was SO good. Wow. First of all... Reed I love you. Second.. The plot was a-ma-zing. Loved it so much. Make this into a tv-show now! Thx xoxo 5✨️
An easy, fun and bingeable audio-show. The production was great and the story line was very entertaining and full of drama that kept me wanting to listen. Excited for season 3.
This was a FREE audiobook on Apple Podcasts like… WHAT?!? I’m literally blown away. The acting is freaking amazing and the audio just blew me away. It’s so immersive and literally sucks you in! I’m so busy with school rn that I would’ve finished this in 2 days if I could’ve! The episodes were not long enough 😭. No one has confirmed if there’s gonna be a season 4 or not so who knows, I literally wanna cry.
This audiobook was based off of the book paper princess by Erin watt. I’ve never heard of this book till I looked into this podcast. I literally found this audiobook from instagram!!! I saw a video of Alyssa McKay in the studio recording a scene and Chris Cafero. I started listening immediately to pass the time in the studio and I was hooked! So much that I binged the 1st season in one day 😭. I can’t believe I’ve blown through this whole audiobook this fast. I’m begging you Diversion and Emerald Audio to come out with a 4th season PLEASE!!!
Ok ok now let me actually talk about this audiobook. From the comments I’ve read a lot of people didn’t like Ella’s personality and the way she acted at times. She wasn’t perfect and she definitely annoyed me at times but I tired to give her grace cause at the end of the day her character was 17years old and so she’s still carries that immaturity even though she’s had a rough life. This audiobook sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions. By the end I didn’t know who to trust. All the characters were so well developed and the scenes were so good. I especially loved the episodes that were done by Valerie and Dinah. It was so cool to finally be able to see into their perspectives. I wasn’t enamored with Reed but I still loved his character. The whole Royal family is messed up in their own way but I loved them all!
❗️Very small spoiler below❗️ Lowkey sorry I accused you Dinah I lowkey thought it was you but tbf you did do some fucked up things…
this is for s1, cringy but in a fun and entertaining way and the plots actually good. first audio book! and callum voice is insane like fair play to him this is for s2- I knew a murder would happen because I saw the titles for season three and I did think it would be broke but yikes the fact that there was no last final showdown with her and Ella was kind of crazy to me. I kind of hated the whole Isaac and reed love triangle because they made him way too perfect and they made him and ellas relationship way too good I guess as in she really liked him and really considering him over reed and I’ll be honest Ella was really really annoying this season as she made so many mistakes do so many things wrong and other people around her would enable her behaviour by apologising to her and instead of recognising that she did wrong and they shouldn’t be apologising to her she would just accept the apology and everyone is acting like Ella has invented gold and she is absolute perfection and I’m like oh my gosh you’ve known for a month, how can she have such an effect in your life? For example Easton. how you gonna tell me He literally went crazy without her there and agreed to be sober just for her to stay that is wild to me and I’m so mad that reed is gonna get the blame for Brooke‘s death, because I know he does I’ve seen a clip of them recording I think season three episode six about him taking a plea deal but I guess we’ll see what happens

This was my second audio book that I’ve listened to and I thought it was pretty good. I seen this on the TikTok of the voice actress for Ella and knew I immediately needed to listen.
It seems directed towards a YA audience so there are some… cringe scenes but thankfully I didn’t have to endure it for too long.
Scenes felt like they jumped back and forth, one second Ella’s in school and the next she’s somewhere else. I know this isn’t supposed to be as detailed as a book it’s based on but the jump does seem a bit all over the show. Some scenes go from 0-100 as well which catches me off guard too.
Otherwise it was a fun and easy listen. It preoccupied my time when I was doing chores or cleaning. Would recommend if you’re into YA romance.
I loved this! It skewed a little younger than my usual preferences with them being roughly 16-18 over the course of the series but I still found it gripping and enjoyable. I stuck to only listening to this when on long train journeys but always found myself looking forward to getting stuck back into it!
so cringy, so good. didn’t know fiction podcasts that weren’t a book were a thing but i love them for hot girl walks, had me giggling at the damn air tbh.
