Easton
I’m the youngest Swift brother. The one who’s always in trouble and can’t get his life together. I wouldn’t know where to start, and ever since my twin died, I can’t bring myself to care. After my last “situation,” Dad washed his hands of me. And though my brothers should’ve done the same, they stood up for me, fracturing their relationship with him too. He’s a terrible father to all of us, but considering we’re just figuring out how to build a relationship, I don’t want them to lose him because of me.

Officer Archer Thorn won’t stop coming around either. After every screwup, every bad day, Archer’s there to offer a hand. Before I know it, we’re going to dog parks, sharing meals, and Archer seems at home hanging at my place. When he touches me, fills me, all the noise in my head goes quiet. He makes me want more, but he doesn’t know how much that terrifies me, how much I worry that getting better means breaking a promise I made years ago.

Each moment with Archer shows me how good a man he is. For the first time, I actually want to face my trauma and get over my past. Archer makes me see there’s beauty in the world and, more importantly, he makes me want some of it for myself…that is, if I don’t ruin Archer Thorn first.

* Easton is a small-town, hurt/comfort romance full of heart, heat, a touch-starved MC, and brothers learning how to have a relationship with each other. It deals with themes of grief, death of a parent and a sibling, and mental-health struggles.

"Yeah, but you like me."
"I don't like anyone."
"You like me," I counter.
I don't expect it when he leans in, effectively ending the conversation by pressing his lips to mine. It's a hard and fast kiss—just as his tongue pushes into my mouth, tasting me, he's pulling back again. "Now shut up and drive."
I grab his chin, tug him closer, and give him another kiss, this one slower, languid, and he lets me ravage his mouth with my tongue.
When I ease away, I say "Yes, sir", then start the car and drive away.

i loved Easton. i loved Archer. i loved the side characters (except for the obvious). this book had me crying almost every other chapter bc i felt for Easton so much and i just wanted to give him all the happiness (he was also a lil too relatable at times 😩) he deserves. i'm so happy he has Archer who was determined to show him love and never gave up on him. not once. i also just loved seeing how far the brothers have come and their development from book one up to this point was lovely to witness. you could tell they were trying and, in the end, that's all that truly mattered. 🥺

RHETT, MY LOVE. YOU DESERVE ALL THE LOVE TOO. i'm excited for his book and i'm curious to see how it will develop with his li, but i'm the most excited to simply see his journey of finding himself again after spending his whole life being brainwashed by his shitty father and being in his shadows. <3

Archer + Easton 🖤
Good boy | Broken boy | Touch starved

"We're an always, me and him."

Absolutely perfect! This book is so beautiful.

The best "good boy" book I've ever read. Good boy in this book was truly used to make East feel like he really was good and not the bad that has been pounded into him since he was young. It was done so well.

I love books where one MC helps the other find their worth.

....

"Show me how good you can be for me, East."

"I can't believe I have you beneath me."

"Good boys say please."

"So fucking sweet."

"You're so fucking beautiful." "Shut up." "You are, East." I walk toward him, stroking my cock. "Such a pretty, good boy."

"There's never been a person in my life I wanted more than the man beneath me right now, and I feel so damn lucky that he let me have him."

"If anyone has made you feel like you're too hard, then they don't deserve you."

"You're so good for me. You're in my head all the time. I can't stop thinking about you, wanting to be with you. I spent my whole life not realizing there was something always missing, but not I know it was you, sweetheart."

"You're a good boy, coming with me today. I'm so fucking proud of you." ... "Your good boy."

"I can't fix the world for you, but I can promise you'll never have to face anything alone anymore."

"Why do you feel so good?" "Because it's right, East. We're right."

"You're worth it sweetheart... worth everything. You're so fucking good, sweetheart."

....

I am so happy I picked this up😭 I was craving a good mm romance, it’s been a while since I’ve read one. This really reminded me of the older Riley hart books. The ones I started reading when I got into MM; it was sweet and soft and mushy 💗 the kind of book that’s cozy and makes you ache in the best way.

Both the characters were absolute darlings💗 I love the progression of their relationship with each other and their friends. It was all very perfect ✨

Easton deserves all the love in the world. Getting his perspective was both heartbreaking and completely tragic in his guilt revolving around a traumatic event from his childhood. Thankfully he has Archer in his corner willing to patiently wait and guide Easton along in his healing journey. These two are so perfect for one another with their endless support and love as both navigate their pain and turmoil stemming from their past.

Overall this series gives you all the feels while offering moments of hope as these characters move towards their HEA realistically and healthily. I'm so excited for Rhett's story. I cannot wait to get his perspective.

I knew this book was going to make me cry! What Easton has been through and the way his family all essentially forgot about him or wrote him off was heartbreaking. It was so good to follow his journey along and see him finally getting the mental health support that he's needed since he was a kid.

I liked how we got to see the backstory to how Easton and Archer's relationship developed, and I really loved how Archer was everything Easton needed. Easton coming out of his self-imposed exile was also really cool to read, and him being the glue between his brothers and not even realising how much they both care about him but have never been taught how to show it was really sweet.

I'm really intrigued for Rhett's story after the little hints we were given throughout this book too!

I think my favourite thing about this book though was the dogs. They sounded so adorable and the way they flock to Easton as their safe space was the sweetest.

Review:

I was really excited to read this book and yesterday I had the honor of receiving an ARC copy, and as always, Riley Hart did not disappoint us.

Easton is a complicated and broken character, who feels he doesn't deserve to live because he blames himself for his sister's death. He feels he doesn't deserve to be loved, that no one really care for him, and that he also doesn't need anyone. Archer has this need to take care of everyone around him and protect everyone he loves, but his desire to be there for Easton and take care of him runs much deeper. It was like his soul call to Easton’s.

Both men have gone through different stages of grief and suffering, and together they bring out the best in each other. I loved how Archer never gave up on Easton, how he always fought for him and how he was able to see beyond Easton's rough edges. Also the way Easton needed him, how he became addicted to his touch and eventually opening up to him, when he never done that with anyone other than his sister.

I adored seeing the relationship between Rhett, Morgan, and Easton evolve, and how the three of them began to heal from Elle’s death. This book was emotional and beautiful at the same time; it was everything, and I can't wait to read Rhett's story.

Oh this was so good and everything that I hoped it would be when I finished book one. Loved it. Archer and Easton are just so beautiful in their own special ways.

Easton has experienced the worst. Just devastating. And as an adult that’s never dealt with trauma in a healthy way, he’s very combative and not good with people at all. He’s kinda feral. Archer is a healer. He loves people and loves to help, and doesn’t view Easton as a lost cause like most. He just wants to help him, and along the way the relationship that develops is just so amazing.

The star of this series is the relationship of these three brothers. I am so invested in how this pans out. It spans all three books and you can see a growth that I don’t want to really touch on, because I don’t want to take away the joy of seeing it unfold. Just know that it’s so worth it. Love. I cannot wait for Rhett’s book. These were my first Riley Hart books and I have a feeling they will not be my last.

Oh my god🥹definitely didn’t expect to like Easton more than Morgan but here we are…

Easton has been lost since he lost his twin. Him and his brothers relationship is extremely strained because of their father. He lashes out and doesn’t let anyone too close.

Archer is a police officer and frequently gets Easton out of trouble. He keeps showing up for him and is determined to prove that he won’t leave him like everyone else.

Archer was absolutely perfect for Easton. The way he loved him and was there for him time and time again. He never pushed him and just understood him.

Easton was such a black cat character and he deserved everything good in the world after what he’s been through!

I loved that there was no third act break up. Archer was just always there, no matter what!

I’m most excited about Rhett’s book. I fear it will be a hard read for me but I can’t wait that grumpy man get all the love in the world!

Alright, babes, gather ‘round—because Easton absolutely wrecked me in the best way. I went in thinking I’d just get a cute hurt/comfort romance and came out holding my chest like Easton’s pain was my own.
This boy? He’s not just the youngest Swift brother—he’s the walking definition of “I’m fine” while clearly drowning. He lost his twin sister, his dad barely acknowledges his existence, and he’s been labeled the family screw-up. But underneath all that bravado and sass? Easton is this raw, aching soul who just wants to be seen.

And then we get Archer. Oh my god—Archer. Calm, steady, protective... this man had no business being that patient and that hot while Easton spiraled all over the place. But did he judge him? No. He held him. Over and over again. And y’all know I’m a sucker for that “touch-starved mess meets gentle rock” dynamic. It hits so hard. The way they slowly go from tension to trust? From guarded moments to full-body confessions? Ugh. I was kicking my feet and sniffling at the same time. I wanted to wrap Easton in a blanket and whisper, “You deserve love too, baby,” while Archer watched from the kitchen with his arms crossed like, “I got it covered.”

Riley Hart really said, “Let me write pain, healing, trauma, and love all in one gorgeous book” and I ate it up.This book is about grief, yes—but more than that, it’s about letting someone love you when you feel unlovable. And if that doesn’t rip your heart open in the most delicious way, I don’t know what will.

Final thoughts? 5/5 broken boys and healing hands. I’d reread it just to cry again.

Easton is the youngest Swift brother as well as the one with the most trauma. He’s angry and also prone to isolation. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, for him, Archer Thorn, simply refuses to leave him alone.

Archer is a police officer and so is not a stranger to the type of trouble Easton gets himself into. But Archer knows there’s more to the "bad boy" persona than what Easton lets everybody see.... including Easton's his own family.

I really liked the first book in this series, Morgan, that I had read some time ago, so I was really looking forward to the rest of the brother's stories. I already knew some of Easton's background. His trauma and difficulties were well explained, and I thought that Archer was the perfect character to help him through them to find the love he so deserved.

This series is very much character driven, and it was very easy to get sucked into the drama, but also the final happiness was so worth the wait. The characters were wonderful, and the happily ever after was simply perfect.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

I've been trying to write a full review for this perfect book and I simply can't . I can say I loved both our MCs. Especially Easton the trouble maker, constantly living with the grief and loss of his twins sister, who adopts rescue pups no one wants. Archer who has a huge heart and is patient, caring and loving to all those he cares for. I can say I loved the way Archer was there for Easton , unconditionally. I can say I loved the sexual chemistry between them. I can say I loved the healing that Easton had with himself and his brothers. I can say I loved everything single second of this book that made me cry on multiple occasions . Lastly I can say that I can not wait for the final book.

There’s never been a person in my life I wanted more than the man beneath me right now, and I feel so damn lucky that he let me have him.

Easton
is an emotional romance between to people who carry guilt for losses in their lives but channeled that guilt in very different ways. Filled with adorable rescue pups, found family , butterflies, mental health, healing , hurt/comfort, steam and the perfect ending for Easton & Archer.

I have been beyond excited to get my hands on this story after reading Morgan’s! It is Easton’s turn and we all know how badly this guy needs some love and happiness. And the best guy for that job is Archer. Even before this book, you could see there was something sparking between them. But as soon as you start this story, you can see exactly where it starts and how impactful it is. Easton hasn’t been the same since his twin, Ella, died when they were nine. Even before then, things were never right. His dad hated him when Easton’s mother died after birthing the twins. And when Ella died, the anger grew more twisted to the point where it truly damaged Easton. Their family is a mess. Between his dad and his brothers. But things are starting to change. And it started when his brothers finally stood up for him and cut themselves from their father. They’ve had enough and realized it would be best for them all. Because the bond between them is so important and they need one another. But for years, Easton hasn’t been drowning in this pain. Holding on to his sister as tight as he can. And when he gets into trouble, Archer has been there to help. And now things between them are finally shifting into something more. Something way more potent. Archer sees past the armor Easton has on himself. He won’t let Easton push him away. Especially when Easton finally let’s him in a bit. He doesn’t know how he can help exactly but what he does know is that he won’t abandon Easton. His heart belongs to Easton even before he realizes he has given it away. I adored these two. I loved watching them fall in love and support one another and just be there. They fit. And neither are willing to give the other up. I adored this story, in case that wasn’t clear. The author knows how to tug at your heartstrings and this one definitely didn’t hold back. One more Swift brother to go and something tells me he may have the toughest story yet. There is a lot we don’t know bout Rhett but we are gonna find out.

Easton broke my heart. His childhood trauma had consumed him to such a degree that he wasn’t able to form relationships with anyone, including his brothers. His guilt nearly destroyed him. He had zero coping skills and he had all but shut down.

However, he had a kind heart and helped those who couldn’t protect themselves, even at his own detriment. He was wildly misunderstood but he did nothing to contradict those negative opinions because he felt like his existence was a burden.

It would’ve been easy to write Archer as this knight in shining armor, which he kind of was, but he had his own struggles. The difference was that he had a support system he could lean on and draw strength from when he needed. He was able to give that to Easton - if/when Easton would allow it.

Archer saw through Easton’s defense mechanisms and got to the core of the man. What he saw in Easton was everything Easton never recognized in himself. Once Easton began to open up to Archer, his world started to expand. He was terrified but Archer was with him every step.

I loved the dynamic between these men. Archer might’ve had a bit of a savior complex but what he gave Easton was actually the strength to save himself and a safe place to call home.

Easton is book two in the Swift Brothers series. This hurt/comfort, small town, MM romance story is about Easton and Archer.

After meeting both Easton and Archer in book one, I knew Easton’s story was going to an emotional one. The loss, hurt and pain Easton experienced was truly heartbreaking. The way his father treated him was so horrible. It was also unfortunate that Easton didn’t have the support from his older brothers, Rhett and Morgan, but thank goodness they were finally making an effort to rebuild their relationship. When Easton would get into trouble, Archer was always there for him. Archer was such an amazing man and his support and love for Easton was everything.

Be prepared because Easton and Archer’s love story will definitely pull at your heartstrings. This book does deal with themes of grief, death of a parent and a sibling, and mental health struggles so please make sure to check out the trigger warnings.

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

My heart broke for Easton, god that man had to endure a lot throughout his life. Archer was the balm he needed. I loved his character.

Riley Hart pens this story with a lighter hand than I’ve come to expect - though that doesn’t mean the Angst and emotion in this one is in short supply. Also tonnes of spice and heat and dirty talk. I loved the side characters and also the dogs, some of those scenes were so touching. I definitely hated Gregory Swift.

This has some signature elements which the author always does so well, hurt comfort, small town and a great mental health rep. I throughly enjoyed it.

It wasn't bad but it did not pull at my heartstrings as I expected.
Also, and this is totally on me, I did not like the 'good boy' & stuffing aspects of the book, so it hindered my connection with the characters. I know other people will love this though, so it's just a case of preference.

Leave it to Riley Hart to finally take me out of months long MM reading slump!

Easton was all kinds of emotional.

•Loss
•Guilt
•Trauma
•Self-loathing
•Verbal abuse from a parent

Your heart can't help but want to protect him, and luckily, Archer is there ready to do just that. He's patient and understanding. Easton and Archer are each others missing piece.

This story has

•Mental health rep
•Dual POVs
•Hurt/comfort/healing
•Chemistry
•Family
•Rescue dogs 🐾

Loved it!

“Archer can’t fix me, but for the first time in my life, I’m wondering if I can fix myself, want to find a way to do it.”

ENG) We knew this second book in the series would be tough to read, but Riley really knocked it out of the park with Easton. I was so moved by how she developed his character and explored his pain and guilt. We can only love him, want to hug him, and wish with all our hearts that he gets his happy ending.
And then there's Archer, who is just the loveliest character. He's the perfect partner for Easton, not trying to fix him but accepting him for who he is and giving him the motivation to succeed.
I think the author does a great job of handling the topic of mental health. It's so important to recognize when someone needs professional help. We all love a good romance, but the truth is that love can't always fix everything. This story shows us that, and it's so well-written!
Each book in this series focuses on one of the siblings and their romantic relationship, the real story is the family drama they're dealing with. I think you'll get the most out of the series if you read them in order, as each book builds on the last. It was so moving to see the three of them taking the first steps to rebuild their relationship from a healthier place, even though it made me cry a lot!
This is definitely one of the best Riley books I've read! I'm really looking forward to reading the series ending with Rhett's story.
You simply have to treat yourself to reading the Swift brothers! I can't recommend it highly enough.

💜 I'm so grateful to the author for sending me the eArc of this book! 💜

Easton is just the typical character that I can't stand, in theory he was supposed to be the classic troubled boy, tormented by guilt who needs someone to help him love himself and stay close to him (the whole thing can be interesting if well developed).
On the contrary Easton becomes boring, he is continually in anguish in a tragic and above all senseless way, he only sees the darkness of his life when he clearly has so many things he could be happy about, but I understand that the book is supposed to be a story of how the protagonist learns to do so, but really Easton is not described as closed in his pain, he is described as a prima donna who must be the center of attention so he creates trouble, in short if you suffer and have problems you don't flaunt it every day to the four winds in everyone's face because you want to be pitied, it quickly becomes a boring and poorly written story.
For years he causes fights and trouble because deep down he knows that there will always be someone ready to rescue him and get him out of trouble (contrary to all the lies he tells himself, but they are in fact not credible lies, he assumes an immature attitude by not recognizing the reality of the facts).
He professes to not want to bother his brothers and to be left alone, but he continually does the wrong things to get their attention, in short I wanted to read about a truly tormented character, who would convey to me his pain and his feelings of guilt.
Instead I find myself with a poorly written character, a prima donna who clearly wants to be indulged (even if he has to profess loneliness and push everyone away uselessly, because he is clearly not alone and clearly has people who care about him), Easton chooses to see only himself and his "problems" (honestly he wastes more time self-aggrandizing than doing concrete things).
The relationship between the protagonists was impersonal and miserable, it was not deep
(predictable phrases and actions already read elsewhere, the story was a script to follow) I really did not feel any kind of special connection between them, the sexual moments were mechanical and not felt, in short a script already seen with nothing that characterized this story differently from many others with similar plots.

“...you’re so goddamned good, and there’s a dumb fucking part of me that wants to be around that. Wants to pretend. Wants to feel like I could be that, have that. Fuck, just be close to it.”

Thanking my own self for not being done with this series after Morgan's book (it was awful, sorry not sorry) and picking Easton's up cuz i adored this book. Easton was such a sad, broken man that i wanted to give him hugs every single chapter for what he's been through. And Archer being the best guy for him out there, staying beside him and giving him all his love and patience had my heart soaring. I loved them so much, loved watching the brothers starting to finally make good with each other and trying to heal themselves with the shit they went through with baby steps. And i just know I'm gonna eat up Rhett's book as well cuz for me, he's the most sad and broken Swift brother

This is without a doubt my favorite book written by Riley Hart. I knew it would be. I knew I'd love Easton already from the first book, and I knew I would obsess about his relationship to Archer. I have a weakness for the broken, and they're both broken in their own way, but Easton seemed broken beyond repair, so it was an absolute wonderful journey to read this book and see how he was dealing with his grief of his lost twin sister and his mom, the guilt he was carrying, and his effort in overcoming his *insert curse word* of a father.

She always loved me. She is my person. My heart.

I loved how Easton and Archer's relationship built over years, it simply took that long to gain Easton's trust. It gave some realism to the story, and the hurt wasn't just fixed as they got together. A lot of things happened between them as time went on. Easton tried to push Archer away but Archer wouldn't let him

Because I want to make sure I do this right, want to make sure I’m there for him in the best way I can be. Somehow, it feels like one of the most important things I’ve done in my life.

Easton definitely had black cat vibes, while Archer was more of a cinnamon roll, and I simply adore that kind of relationship. I loved the effort Archer put in to get to know Easton, the real him, and not the guy who causes trouble and is angry at everyone and the world.

“Why are you doing this? It’s not like we’re really friends. We both know that eventually you’re going to get tired of my shit, so why keep this going? Walk away now and save us both the trouble. You can’t fix me.”

I also loved seeing the Swift brothers together, and Easton's part in trying to get them all to be closer, to be real brothers. I'm very excited to read Rhett's story. I wonder if Cass will be the love interest.

Also, dogs! Loved how Easton took in rescues.

3.5⭐️ Sweet and sad. I really liked Easton and his story and, similar to book one, I’m fascinated with the brothers’ tragic history and how they relate to one another and cope with their grief and guilt.
However, I thought Archer was way too perfect, to the point that it felt inauthentic. He always had the perfect thing to say, unbelievably patient, and existed only to please Easton—and so he didn’t feel like a fully fleshed out character. I wanted some more turmoil and realness between them. Instead, all we get is sex. Lots and lots of sex. I think I’ve just outgrown Riley’s writing. It’s all kind of just okay at this point.

I believe this can be the most emotional series Riley hart has written so far (along with Broken Pieces), the level of hurt/comfort is high and I can just imagine how intense "Rhett" will be.
I think she did a very good job describing all what happened in Easton's life and all his emotions: the hurt and the pain of losing his mom and, especially, his twin sister, the feelings of being abandoned by his big brothers, because he was not enough. He was so so lonely.
Easton is such a precious soul, his pure nature reflects on how he takes care of his dogs and it really broke my heart seeig that his dogs' love was the only one he felt he deserved.

Archer is a patient man, a very patient man, he always knows how to approach Easton, how not to scare him or push him too much, but, above all, he knows how to make Easton feel safe.

There's a lot to unfold in this story and, like it happened with the previous book, "Morgan" (my review), this is not just the romantic story of a couple, but of three brothers who are trying to reconnect after life threw at them so much hurt and loss.
It's painful but it's also very very beautiful and I cannot wait to read "Rhett" too.

P.S.: I hope there's a special place in hell waiting for Gregory...

I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.

OMG. This book!!! EASTON hits some pretty serious topics, but it still has that classic touch of Riley Hart that just tugs at your heartstrings.

Easton, the youngest Swift brother, lost his twin sister when he was 9 and has never gotten over it. The whole family has so much going on and so much toxicity, and their dad did SO MUCH to mess them up... it's a miracle Easton was as sweet as he was under all of that ✨️mad sad boy✨️

Archer, our loveable cop, was such a big hearted & hard loving man. He was ALL-IN and made loving Easton his number one priority. It was never about "fixing" Easton. It was about giving him the love he deserved.

My favorite part, outside the romance, was the fact that loving Archer wasn't Easton's magic fix. He needed lots of help and healing, and sometimes the only way to find that is with professional HELP. Loving Archer opened the door of Easton's heart so he could get help. Love wasn't the big fix.

Easton was a wonderful.book full of love, grief & grieving, loss, family, found family, healing, and falling in love.

The spice was NICE. Easton's needy-ness was hot and absolutely tracked with his character. I loved Archer's dirty mouth - these two were 🔥🔥🔥

Easton comes out October 10th, Riley, break my heart again!

I loved Eastons character, there was so much depth to him. The hurt and the insecurities, the dysfunctional family dynamic, the desperate attempts to connect made him such an interesting character to read about.
Archer on the other hand 🤦🏻. His side of the dialogue felt like AI generated conversation, he was so bland that i found myself spacing out on some of his monologues. It wasn't the problem that he was boring, he wasn't, it was that his only personality trait was supportive and every response he had to anything Easton said was, "thank you for being honest with me" like some generated voice message when you call tech support.
Rent aside, i think the fault i find here is that so much time was spent on developing Eastons character that Archers was left undeveloped and one dimensional. I'm disappointed because with a little more depth and time spent on just him outside of Easton i would have loved this book.
Despite everything i still can't wait for Rhetts book because even from the start he appeal to me the most.

p.s. (also the scene with Easton and Archers mom was so soo, so cringe and rushed that i cant even be bothered to rent about)
