This book was a warm hug with impeccable trans rep, sweet cute and funny moments and almost zero angst. Myles the writer is looking for a roommate, and Avery the acupunturist is the perfect one for him. They see each other at Randy's, which is a place I wish I had in my hometown because is the queer refuge of my dreams. Myles is a trans man with a few insecurities and Avery is a bigender cutie with a larger than life personality. They are attracted to one another and the relationship development is perfection. They become each other's safe space and support. The little moments of gender reflection were AMAZING. And the intimacy was vers goodness and I'm SO HAPPY for such a sexy and sweet portrayal, so mindful and so little cishetnormative.

This book was trans queer perfection and I will shout my love for it from the rooftops.

Story: 5/5

OmGlob please Kat can you make Myles’s books come true? I want to read all that alien goodness. The little we know about the book left me intrigued, I can’t stop wondering what happens in those stories with all the research Myles is doing 👀👀👀.
I really want that book, I love (queer) alien romances!

Okay now about the good stuff that it’s Written At Randy’s.
This book wow!
If you’ve ever dreamed of a perfect queer book with everything, I'm mean everything — this is the one. And get ready because there's a whole series of them, with 10 more to go. YAY!

This book is funny, adorable without being mushy, with very good trans & bigender realness and vibes, with lots of queer rep, found family, low angst, great world-building (the diner *dreamy sigh*), lovable characters, AND it’s hooootttttt, very very hot, indeed.
Urgh......it's a balm for your heart, mind, soul, body...
This is simply the perfect trans comfort queer read, the best!

Main Characters:
5/5 – Myles, mid-20s, he/him, trans man, introvert, stubborn, writer of queer erotic alien romances, oblivious, clumsy, sarcastic, timid, socially awkward, funny (only with friends)
5/5 – Avery, nickname Aves, mid-20s, she/he, bigender, social butterfly, stubborn, acupuncturist, sweet, generous, kind, attention-seeker, funny

Myles & Avery's relationship is beautiful, from roommates to best friends to lovers.
Their journey is smooth, cute 😏 and hot (no 3rd act breakup).
What I liked most about their relationship was the communication bt them. They understood each other like no one else, they were eager to learn everything about one another. And their chemistry was intense since the beginning, making their journey even more static and caliente. 🥵

"Avery: Except then he leaned down and brushed his lips to mine, and I melted. The kiss was soft and seeking, soothing me in a way I hadn’t known I needed.
...
I wanted to feel his body against mine, and he lowered himself so our chests brushed together, his with a bit of softness at the tits that was hot as fuck against my flat.
He pulled back and pressed a kiss on the tip of my nose, the motion so goddamn cute I died. My heart tumbled, and yeah, bury me here because I didn’t want to leave this space at all."

Side Characters: 5/5

Let's start with the Diner.
The Diner is a wet dream to any queer person.
The calming, relaxing (and fun) vibes during the diner scenes are chef's kiss. It's so inclusive, a true queer safe space.

Among the SCs, we have Chloé, Avery's bestie, who has her own sapphic book (Extraction Play). She's hilarious, and I wanted a little more of her!
Myles's parents are super cool, and Avery's niece is just sooo cute & oblivious kind!
Then there's Graeme, Myles's write friend, he's funny too, and I can’t wait for their book in this series!

"Avery: "Considering you slept with Marisa, I’m pretty sure the bar can go no lower. Chloe said...
I wrinkled my nose. "Yeah, I thought she had a religion kink or something. I didn’t expect her to legit bust out the holy water and try to exorcise me midcoitus. Besides, who carries pocket-sized holy water?"
Greg snorted. "No, she was just trying to convert you."
"By having lesbian sex?" I asked, my brows drawing together. "One plus one plus two plus one equals I’m confused as fuck."
"She was also confused as fuck, if that helps at all, Chloe said."

Cheating?
Cons:The only thing I didn't need was the specifics on the food. My favorite kinds of books are the ones that don't describe the food the characters are eating in every scene, or at least only once or twice. It's not just because I'm vegan—I respect everyone's choices—but I also don't think it's necessary to define a character's lifestyle or personality by their food preferences. That's why I don't read chef or food-related books. That being said, this one is relatively tame, but it does have some mentions that, for me, don't add much to the story.

"Avery: The landlord refused to fix anything, and the standoff between us was getting ridiculous. I’d left a retaliative line of rubber ducks outside his apartment door daily for about a month, and I was pretty sure he was refusing to get my sink repaired out of spite.
But he hadn’t fixed anything in a timely manner beforehand either, so at least I got some amusement over the Eternal Duck Brigade—trademarked.

!! I don't equate fiction stories to real life. It's a matter of personal taste and what you are willing or want to tolerate in the books you read. We all have different opinions and preferences when it comes to the kind of books we enjoy, so it's important to respect and remember that it's just a book!!

4.5 ☆ 🏳️‍⚧️ Let me just say, beautiful trans ambience aesthetic that Randy's has. Loved every second when the reader got the description of the diner. 🩷🤍🩵
My first ARC! So fun! 😜
Thank you, Kat McIntyre for a chance to read this book for free. I'm leaving this review of my own accord.

This book was great! The main characters just *chef's-kiss*, such real, imperfect, and beautiful. Myles, you big little weirdo 😍, completely had my heart, as well as Avery but as a fellow queerdo my heart goes to Myles.
There is just one little tiny thing *prepare for harmless rant*(that is not important whatsoever), I really would like to read more about Avery's "need/choice to put on a mask" -not about when dealing with clients that's your job to be extra polite and make ppl comfortable in his/her line of work- but with ppl in general. I feel like her/his family is one of the superficial and shallow ones so I would have liked to read where that came from (is she/he a social butterfly that just loves to have fun with ppl just because, or was it something he/she picked up from surviving a futile/narrow-minded fam? Because I can read the signs of "people-pleaser" all over. Takes one to know one, Ig.... Do not get me wrong, I love love love Avery, I just would have liked to connect with her/him on that level. Like I said "its-not-you-its-me" harmless rant.

spoiler-not-spoiler?

About the side-characters, I really liked Chloé, Graeme, Zo, and all the others. They're so fun to read, and I lol many times, because it's that kind of book. Fun, heart-warming, with depth... I can wait to read the next book on this series.

This was my 2nd book of this author, and they Do Not disappoint!

I devoured this in one sitting!!!
I adored all of the characters, especially the MCs, trans male Myles and bigender Avery.
I've never read a bigender character before, and found this to be a perfect introduction. God, I just loved them both.
Funny, sweet, sexy, and oh so hot.
Looking forward to reading the rest from this universe. I understand that they are by different authors, so I hope they live up to this one.

Myles, an introverted writer, is looking for a roommate, so he puts up a notice on the cork board at the local diner, Randy’s.

When someone finally reaches out inquiring about the room for rent, it just so happens to be the club going cutie who Myles has seen hitting up Randy’s (and been crushing on from afar).

He and Avery hit it off almost immediately despite how different their personalities are, and open up to each other in ways they never expected.

Honestly, Myles and Avery were adorable. Their story was so cozy and sweet with little to no angst, deliciously steamy, and just all around full of wonderfully written trans queer rep.

I want to live in this series, and this was only the first book.

“Except Myles had seen me at once—recognized me from across the room like our souls were destined to find each other—and I’d seen him in turn.”

When these authors tell you their stories are just pure trans joy, believe them. I must’ve spent 20 minutes after I hit the end sitting here, reflecting on what I’d just read. My face is sore from smiling so much, and how did you make straight up (accurate, non-skeevy, and amazing) smut scenes so romantic at the same time?! The BEST kind of witchcraft!

I can’t think of anything I needed more than this level of happiness I’m currently existing in that this story caused. This is exactly what the genre needs, and there’s an entire series being dropped like the best kind of love 💣.

Also, go ahead and add these precious angel bbs to the list of book characters I would fight wars for. I just wanted to hug them both, and that’s saying a lot considering I don’t like touch 99% of the time.

Moving on… The setting, the story, the characters, and the anticipation for the next one were top tier. The only gripe I could come up with was some repetitive phrasing, and that’s trying to pick it apart for anything negative to mention so folx don’t @ me over my review. It’s not even a real issue, it’s more just my preference. So.

“The cool air clashed with the heat combusting between us, and I’d forever associate love with the sharp scent of fall.” Same, Avery. Same.

5/5. I promise you need realistic, healthy, respectful, sweet, and spicy T/Nb romance in your life. My heart is so full and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. I am going to remind all of my homies to mark their calendars, because this is the best stuff, not just the good stuff.

*I must’ve used up my highlight function with how much I wanted to remember forever. Don’t check the highlights if you don’t want possibly spoiler-ish vibes.*

I am always looking for well done trans romance rep. This was done so well without trying too hard. Low angst and sexy as hell. This series has been hit or miss so far but that’s mainly because of the quality of writing between certain authors. This one has the top spot so far.

3.5 stars. This is the first book I’ve read in this series and I really liked how Randy’s diner played a role in the story! I’m interested to see if any of the side characters we met at the diner are MCs in other stories! If you’re looking for fun romances with trans MCs I definitely recommend this story and the series.

This is the first time I’ve read a story where neither MC is cis. I really liked that dynamic because of the way they were able to support and understand the other as they had gone through it themselves in one way or another!

I liked both Myles and Avery as characters. My heart broke for Avery with their family. I was happy to have a little bit of support from some of them at the end!I did find there was almost too much sex. I liked seeing their dynamic and how they fit together but I would have actually loved more plot time with this one! But overall it was enjoyable and I would recommend.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion. (I took WAY too long to do this due to irl stuff but here we are.)

I ADORED this book! It was so fun to read. The setting was interesting, the characters were wonderful, and the background characters were just as much fun as the main ones honestly! And the relationship that developed between Avery and Myles was just captivating. I loved them and watching them work through things and discover things together was just so so good.

Also, the way Avery's gender was expressed and shown was something I've not come across in books I've read before and was so refreshing and amazing. Absolutely top tier in my book! I loved it so so much and was really happy to read a story with a character who had a body like this and was so confident and content within it... It made me feel so excited and a little bit teary because it's just not often I seem to find books with characters that feel so much like ME. Granted Avery is kinda the opposite way round to me but it was great to have that in a character.

Myle's total and easy acceptance of Avery and everything about them was heartwarming and wonderful and I really couldn't get enough of it. Myles was LOVELY and I couldn't have adored him more either.

This was a sweet, wonderful read with just a bit of angst from sources outside the relationship. I spent so much time in my feels one way or another with this book. I will say I spent a good chunk of it angry though. Not at the MC's or their story but Avery's family. The dismissive way Avery was treated by them... Absolutely infuriating! The rage was real and having a book that made me connect so deeply with the characters and feel so much anger on their behalf is a sign of a great book in my eyes.

Fantastic book and would definitely love to re-read some time.

Myles (trans male) spends his time at writing his next great alien smut romance, whereas Avery (bigender) spends his/her time at Randys after fun nights dancing at the local club. When Myles seeks a roommate to help pay the bills, he doesn't expect the club cutie to show up on his door. These two are so dang adorable that you can not help but want to squish them. Both just accept the other as they are and make them more comfortable being their true selves. What to expect from a kat McIntyre book a kink added in for funsies and oh boy does she deliver on this one.
Thanks Kat now everytime I see a squirell, I cackle, so there's that fun now.

This is book one of all the inclusive trans series, and what a way to start it was. Cannot wait to see what pairings come from this universe.

4.5☆

This first book in the Diner Days series really sets the mood. I really enjoyed the description of the diner and the people within, I could really imagine it.

Myles and Avery's story is very sweet. I loved how they both had crushes on each other before they met. Myles posts and ad at the diner for a room for rent and Avery is the person that answers the ad. Imagine their surprise when Myles opened the door and Avery was on the other side. They are opposites(Avery called them contrasts), Myles is introverted and not a fan of crowds, while Avery is extroverted and loves to be the center of attention. Myles is quiet and solitary, while Avery is loud and thrives in crowds.
I really liked the representation in the book, Myles is a trans man and Avery is bigender. I loved how they embraced theirselves, while also fighting dysphoria, and I loved how they felt at ease with each other. Really enjoyed Avery taking care of Myles when he was in his writing cave and didn't know if he'd eaten or what time of day it was.
It was hard to see Avery be sad over their family. Their family appeared accepting, but they put them on the backburner a lot, and they seemed more of an afterthought to them prioritising their other siblings over Avery. Most of them didn't even show up to Avery's wellness fair and the reasons they gave were so stupid: Avery's dad went fishing, their mom went dress shopping and they had a celebratory dinner planned for later that day for one of Avery's brothers who had gotten a promotion. In contrast, Myles's parents were accepeting from the get go and very interested in what Avery had to say, and they also showed up at the fair bright and early.

I really enjoyed this book, and the epilogue was everything and so very sweet!

I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is the first in a new series, by different writers, based around Randy's, a diner. Randy, the owner, is a bit elusive though!

Myles is a writer, who frequents the diner to write, or not, as the case may be. He is trans. Avery is bi-gender. THAT took a bit of getting used to, as sometimes, Avery presents as femme, and sometimes masc. I had to concentrate a bit till I got my head round the changing pronouns.

What this is, is a beautifully written story, that is really too stinking cute and sweet and super full of the warm and fuzzies, I freaking loved it!

I loved that both of them had admired the other in the diner, but neither was brave enough to approach. I loved the nature way they came to be in the same space, and how things progressed at a steady pace.

I loved the way Myles mum and dad knew, right from that first meeting with Avery, that this wasn't JUST a room-mate situation, even if at that point, it really was just that!

I did not like the way Avery's family made them feel. No ma'am, I did not. Their sister did try, and that was the main thing, though.

It's super sweet, but hella steamy, once these two get with the programme! Oh yes indeed!

It's a wonderful introduction to Randy's and a supporting cast who ,ay or may not appear in future books. I hope I get to read them all!

Can't fault this one, really I can't so it can only get. . . .

When I heard about this series, I was so incredibly excited and glad I was able to sign up to read the whole thing! Randy’s Diner is an entire series of a variety of trans experiences based around a central location. Low angst trans characters, lots of love and friendship, and all the different representations that have been teased...I’m totally sold.

In this opening book, we have Myles, the trans masc main character, who has a pretty immediate crush on Avery, the bigender main character. Imagine Myles’ surprise when the cutie he’s been checking out at the diner is the one who responds to his Room For Rent flier.

I did a lot of smiling and uttered many an “Aww” reading this book. Myles and Avery are so sweet and steamy together in this opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine, roommates to lovers story. I absolutely loved it!

Thank you to the author for writing it and for giving me and others the opportunity to read this wonderful story. You don’t come across a lot of bigender representation, at least I haven’t, and it’s sorely needed and amazing to see. It’s only the first book and I’m invested in reading the rest of this series and also any books related to the characters referenced that appear in other series. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone in this series by so many great authors, most new to me. I will definitely be checking out more from all of the participating authors.

Randy’s Diner is a little queer-friendly oasis. You can find Miles there, a trans man, an author, inhaling coffee, working like a madman behind his laptop on a delicious alien sm*t book.

Avery he/she, is there regularly with friends, after clubbing. Miles noticed Avery’s sparkling personality.

Their path comes together when Avery is looking for a room and finds a note on the wall from someone looking for a roommate.

The attraction is so palpable, two totally different people and oh boy, did they fit like a glove.Avery is so amazing, always open with communication, Miles for his part, learned from Avery.

What follows is something precious, quite special, there are moments of fun, endearment, sweetness, tenderness, heartwarming, eye-opening moments, heartbreaking ones, deep moving moments, and delightful sexy ones, did I say fun? So much!

Imho, the trans and bigender rep was perfectly written, it felt so comfortable! It made me emotional.

With blurred eyes and happy tears running down my face, I want to shout out: I loved this story dearly! Highly recommended!

I'm so excited for the Diner Days collab! If all the books are as good as Written at Randy's this series is going to be incredibly special. Not only does it feature trans characters, but the setting is fun and interesting as well. I love that right from the get go, this book has cliques and defined groups mixing and mingling and that everyone is so welcoming and supportive, whether it's the writer crowd or the after dancing crowd or maybe a group we haven't really gotten to know yet, they all seem so welcoming and friendly.

This first pairing is a trans man and a genderfluid person and it was lovely with a slow build to a very steamy romance! I love all the character detail, the background and the way this story just flows to the point where you know everything but don't remember how you knew...

I can't wait to see where the next author takes this series!

Solid B for this emotionally, satisfying high heat, low conflict T4T contemporary romance. This is the first book in a multi author series of trans masc romances set around an inclusive Boston diner named Randy’s. I think it does a good job setting up the series without getting bogged down in explanations or sequel bait.

I liked the story and characters better than the writing. The writing, especially some of the repeated phrases and unusual phrasing (frex, at least one MC, and maybe both, touch their nape a lot, like a lot a lot, and it took me awhile to realize that nape = nape of the neck), took me out of the story.

And can I just say, as a long time reader of mm and queer romance, that I love that this series exists? I can’t personally speak to the rep (trans masc and bi gender in this story) but it feels pretty significant to have a fluffy, sexy romance book and series focused on trans masc joy.

If you're looking for a Queer high steam romance than Written at Randy's by Katherine McIntyre will fit the bill. A monster erotica romance author looking for a roommate, his crush from afar who shows up be his new roomie, a trans male MC, a bigender MC, steamy scenes galore (including solo personal pleasure), found family low angst, and a happily ever after.

Written at Randy's is the first book in the multi author series Dinner Days. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the rest of the series. This book is about Myles an adorkable writer who is trans looking for a roommate and Avery a bigbender. This is a sweet low to no angst story with an amazing trans rep. I couldn't stop smiling after I finished this story. I hope the next book in the series is just as enjoyable as Katherine McIntyre's story was. I would definitely recommend this book and I can't wait for the next one in the series.

Myles and Avery Roommates to Lovers

4.5⭐️ so this is my second book of the Diner Days series (but first in the series) and just wow. I am hooked. The representation, found family, acceptance and openness in this series so far is so heartwarming and amazing. I am so jealous yet filled with such warmth over the queer community at Randy’s. Thank you!

Having a bad day? Stop what you’re doing & go read this book immediately.

Avery & Myles were everything I needed right now, just a healthy dose of unadulterated fluff, great representation, low angst, high spice. Reading this was like being wrapped in a warm blanket, by a fire, drinking hot chocolate with whipped cream & marshmallows. Gimme more. I beg you.

Such a cute and refreshing story, both mcs are super nice with their own "oddness". But amazingly, their "weirdos" personalities match with each other perfectly. Very nice story, low angst, and I loved Myles' parents, they were such wonderful people both with Myles and Avery.

This was good!!!! I really enjoyed the developing relationship between the MC’s. How they could truly be themselves with each other, support each other, and love each other - and OH the spicy times!!!! This seems like it’s going to be a really fun series bringing the right kind of attention to those who aren’t cisgender.

**4.5**
Randy's is a welcoming, inclusive diner that every town needs! This story is a very well written representation of trans and bigender characters.
Miles is an author who spends time writing at Randy's, to get out of his house and to sometimes have the company of other authors in 'writer's corner'. Avery often comes into Randy's after clubbing with their friends and Miles hasn't escaped their notice. A perfect moment of serendipity comes when Miles' advert for a roommate goes up just as Avery's best friend lets them down in getting a flat together.
Miles and Avery are a perfect match up together, balancing out one introverted social recluse and one outgoing social butterfly. Their relationship develops so naturally, their chemistry ignites from the moment that they allow it. Avery's loving and outgoing nature shows Miles what they like about him, especially those things that he is so insecure about.
It's a very low angst romance with the little bit of drama coming in Avery's relationship with their family. It's a wonderful found family as well with the group that is building at Randy's. I can't wait to read more from this series.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

A MX romance with a Trans MC & a Bigender MC, Opposites attract, & roommates to Lovers! There's fun quips, sweetness, sadness but also feelings of acceptance & being seen.
I loved Myles & Avery! Their friends were fun too. Devoured my #ARC in around 4hrs. I needed this book with all the social media controversy rn, this helped calm me!

Myles is a writer of Monster fucker romance books 😁. M's adorkably awkward, a trans man with hermit lifestyle & takes time to open up to people. His parents are sweet.
Avery has an acupuncture clinic. Av's Bigender, charming & friendly; the life of a party & loves to go club dancing. His relationship with his family is complicated...

Both frequent Randy's Diner & got crushes from afar on eachother 😳. When they end up new roommates, will their differences be too much or their mix perfection?

It was amusing to see the embarassing situations, word vomits, Av not letting M be self depreciating, the vulnerability, family situations & those realisations of love! Once they gave in, things heated 🔥. It was overall a lower angst, light hearted (with couple heavy scenes) book!

P.s. I feel the MCs are in their mid to late 20s, tho we didn't get a confirmation 🤔.

Ever since this group of authors announced they were doing a Collab series focused on trans characters, I have been eagerly waiting to dive in. After reading this, (the first book in the Diner Days series), I'm even more hyped for the rest of the books.

Katherine is really good at creating dynamic characters that has tons of background information, which I love because it helps us, (the readers), get to know the characters better, and understand them a bit more. Myles and Avery are so special and sweet together.

I adored how they met, it was awkward for Myles but it was such a sweet and funny meet-cute. I felt secondhand embarrassment on Myles's behalf but hey, Avery didn't mind, or hold how they met against him. The idea of these two knowing of each other from spending time at Randy's, to going to being roommates and actually getting to know each other personally, was a really great idea. It was executed flawlessly!

The found family goodness that occured within the pages of this story was so good! It made me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside reading about how everyone rallied around Avery and showed up to support him at his event. I have a strong dislike for Avery's family, I hate that they made him feel as though he's not important, or interesting enough to pay attention to. But, despite them being awful characters, Myles, his parents, and Avery and Myles's groups of friends showed up to support him and give him their love and acceptance.

The detail that went into describing Randy's Diner was phenomenal, I loved that there was so much attention to detail focused on describing that place. Especially because that's where this whole series takes place, it has to stand out, and it definitely did. I liked the bit of slow-burn that occured between Myles and Avery, I thought it was written out well. They go from becoming friends, to being friends with benefits, then transitioning to being lovers. It was such a smooth flow between each of those transitioning moments, it was written in such a spectacular way.

Something that I adored the most was the transgender representation and the Bi-Gender representation. I learned a lot while reading this story which I loved! I haven't come across any other stories that has a Bi-Gender character, aside from this one. I loved that there is finally a romance book with a Bi-Gender character, and I'm sure a lot of other people will love that too.

This story and these two characters pulled me in from page 1 and didn’t let me go until the end. Myles is trans and Avery identifies as bisexual and bigender, and these two initially see each other at Randy’s Diner. Both are interested in each other although never actually meeting there, but when Myles advertised a room for rent, Avery jumped on the chance to get out of his/her horrible apartment, and the meet is on. The two find an instant physical connection from the first touch, as well as a sense of ease and contentment just being around each other. The relationship moves fairly quickly from roommates to friends to friends-with-benefits to something deeper, as both find caring, compassion and peace with each other both physically and emotionally. The intimate scenes flow smoothly in the narrative, enhancing the growing connection between them. The reader gets the sense of the emotional pull between them, the support and backing of their individual friend groups which become a found family, and Avery finds the acceptance of family from Myles’s family. Both find that which was missing in their lives in the other person, making them feel seen, loved, and whole.

I appreciated the different sexualities of the main characters, and I felt the portrayal of each one gave me a better understanding of their designations and “place” on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Avery’s explanation of the way his/her body felt determined whether he was more masc or femme on a given day, rather than being determined by what would fit into a given situation for the day, and it did make sense to me, giving me an appreciation for and understanding of bigender than I had before.

I don’t think I am unusual in my general lack of understanding of designations beyond “gay” or “lesbian”, and I think books like this one can be educational tools, in a way, as well as good storytelling about the growth of a meaningful, loving and lasting relationship. I think characters representing other designations on the spectrum are valuable to show that under everything, we all have the same wants and needs for someone to see us as who we are, to accept us, and find love, no matter who or how we love. I hope this series can extend that understanding and bring it to more readers, and I look forward to reading more of the Randy’s Diner series. I heartedly recommend this one as a great beginning.

I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review for the ARC I received.

This is the first book in the Diner Days series, a multi-author endeavor featuring low angst trans stories. I absolutely loved this book! McIntyre sets the stage at Randy’s Diner up to be a queer-friendly safe space and it’s evident how much each patron feels comfortable and accepted there in that beloved space.

Myles is a trans author who specializes in alien romances. He doesn’t people a lot, but is hands down the most supportive person a partner could ask for. He shows up in a big way for Avery in this story and I was here for all of it. Avery is bigender and effervescent. People are drawn to his/her energy and he/she can connect (at least on the surface ) with lots of people. Avery struggles with family acceptance, however, (tolerance being offered but never really fitting in to their heteronormative lifestyle).
(Myles’ parents are loving and supportive, but fear of disappointment keeps him from revealing what he really does for a living).

Avery and Myles sync right from the start. They gravitate to one another and complement one another with their different personalities. They have an instant attraction to one another and once they finally give into it, their compatibility is off the charts. I loved all of the homey moments between the two of them and the way they easily fit into each other’s lives and comfort zones. They are real with one another and 100% themselves in ways they may not be able to be with other people.

Myles and Avery have intense chemistry. Once things turn from somewhat strangers at the diner to roommates to lovers, it’s a profound and heartwarming journey to their happily ever after. I love the small moments of vulnerability between them as well as the big moments of support. They are truly meant for each other and it’s a wonderful experience to see their relationship unfold. The epilogue is beyond swoon worthy.

You should read this book - and the others in the series - ASAP.

OMG, this book is just brilliant!!!!!!!
Firstly, let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews, and this is me leaving my honest review.
Wow, what a fantastic book. I just fell in love with Myles and Avery. These are two amazing people who just want to be loved for who they are but still they feel invisible at times. Avery is an amazing bigender acupuncturist, who has only found in last five years herself/himself. They have this larger-than-life personality that just makes you smile. But wasn’t fully recognised for the person they were by their family. as the middle child of five they are somehow always overlooked. And coming out as bigender she/he feels voiceless, invisible.
Avery is in need to find a solution to his/her housing problem. The landlord is a creep who didn’t fix issues and now that his best friend was leaving to San Francisco kind of felt lost until he rang a number that was on the board of their favourite café Randys.
Myles is the only child of very successful parents, and he doesn’t want to let them down by telling them he is a raunchy erotic author about aliens. So he tells them he’s a journalist. Myles Goes to Randys where he manages to write and drink loads of coffee. He feels extremely welcome there and when a group of people coming dressed up to the 9 in the club clothes, his eyes are always drawn to one person. But he just doesn’t have the courage to go up and speak to them. So when he opens the door to somebody who wants to look at the room he is renting out, to see the one person he fantasises about.
These two are so quirky and understand each other and know without even talking sometimes, what the other person needs. The passion that these two share is off the charts, it’s electric, but it’s the connection that really gets me . These two are beautiful people who deserve happiness.
. I cannot wait to read more on the author because, once again I am totally blown away.
