How do you catch a monster?
You become one.

The King is dead. Murdered, by his dear friend and old ally. Or so they say. But who knows? One shouldn’t always believe rumors, especially when they could start another Great War.

The White City has fallen. Its people, no more. Butchered by the Serpent God, himself; their screams still echoing through the blood drenched, palace halls.

The demons have returned. Evil always comes in pairs. A long forgotten threat from the East has awoken, unveiling a new, unexpected enemy right in the heart of one mighty human kingdom.

When darkness consumes the world, can a sliver of light ever survive?

AUTHOR’S NOTE: This book contains an intense, all consuming, dark romance with high steam, forced proximity, touch her/him & die, hidden powers, and an over-the-top morally gray shadow wielding MMC. 18+ recommended.

Make sure to read books 1-3 (The Snows of Nissa, The Storms of Fury, The Sands of Titans) in the Forgotten Kingdom Chronicles before starting this book since they are all connected and CANNOT BE READ AS STANDALONES! All books are available on Amazon and KU.

the plains of wrath is book four in the series so be sure to check out the other three before you start this one since they can't be read as standalones<3

WOW. that's all i can really say.
duna finds out A LOT about her history in this one, and has to come to terms with it all so suddenly.. i feel like she took a little bit less of the "girlboss" role she's had previously and more of a quieter one where she struggles with the fine line of what's real and what's not because of her past. there is a whole rollercoaster of emotions to experience here, and a lot of good story progression too!!

one thing i absolutely loved about this book is the fact that duna and cathal are FINALLY TOGETHER (i have waited the entire series to finally see them happy honestly) so many wholesome moments with them :,)

i cannot wait to see how this story will end (i'm so not ready omg)

This is the fourth book in the Forgotten Kingdom Chronicles, a dark fantasy romance series. This book picks up immediately after the end of book three. Tropes include shadow daddy, shadow play, hurt/comfort, morally gray characters, hidden identities, and touch her/him and die. This is a dark fantasy romance so please see content warnings for dark themes and explicit content.

The Lovely: This book, even compared to boom three, went all out on the emotional impact. While the MCs want each other and to be together self-doubts and past issues creep in, pushing them apart. You can feel their struggle as they keep trying to make the relationship work. I love how the author creates angsty, emotionally charged moments between them. And the spice was amazing in this book.

Also Lovely: I also loved how we gradually learned even more about the lore and history, especially as Duna tries to remember what happened in the Plain during the war. Now Fate is involved too and not in a good way.

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars 4/5 Flames

Recommendation: I received an advance review copy, and am leaving this review voluntarily. This book delivers as a dark and spicy fantasy romance. Note, this is a dark fantasy *and* dark romance. I am so invested in the MCs relationship and how it’s threatened by the world around them that I’m worried for them. The fifth and final book in this series is due to be released in July of this year and I’ve never been so glad for only a three month wait. If you like spicy fantasy romance with a strong FMC and gods and myths, I think you would like this book.

BOOK IV | THE PLAINS OF WRATH

As we inch towards the grand finale of this series, the characters in the Forgotten Kingdom Chronicles are facing an extraordinary set of challenges which are set to fulfill fate’s unfortunate plans but just as ordeals worsen and our courageous leads are seemingly thrown down, something unexpected occurs — they each find their wits and will to fight to protect all that they value.

The Plains of Wrath is the amazing penultimate chapter which sets up this breathtaking series final steps and this incredible adventure of a novel kept me at the edge of my seat in the most thrilling ways. Every element of this story was graduated to new heights, offering an alluring, darker shift of the story in its entirety. Threats and dangers once hinted upon finally come to shocking realization and gives way for a truly vile villain to take center stage. Most exceptionally done throughout was how Isabella skillfully shedded a light upon the atrocities of their new reality and offers glimpse into the terrifying new existence that could become a consistent truth should our beloved heroes fail in their epic fight for a free and safe world for all beings.

While central conflicts deviate to more harrowing spaces, the foundational romance between Duna & Cathal only grows deeper in Book 4 and quickly became one of my favorite developments in this series stage. The miscommunication our two leads often run into in previous novels melts away organically in this chapter and seeing them tackle new challenges together while building their own relationship was so lovely to read.

Those who have grown to appreciate the generous spice in this series will be pleased as it is amped up to very steamy levels & the descriptive scenes will have you reaching for a tall glass of ice water ❤️‍🔥 While the spice knocks it out of the park, it is the exploration and vulnerability of the couple’s inner most selves that really shines in this book. There were many surprisingly tender moments nestled within their scenes, especially those heartwarming moments where the rarely emotional General reaffirms his commitment to his love whilst defining himself as a firm safe haven for Duna in a tumultuous time where nothing is truly guaranteed. Much like other critical facets in this tale, this intense love story finds itself treading new grounds which impacts both of their paths moving forward.

FINAL VERDICT // With every book in this series, Isabella manages to ace the direction of plots and character ambitions while infusing every moment with emotional notes that keeps one deeply immersed till the final page. The Plains of Wrath is an exciting novel which wonderfully advanced crucial story points as well as highlighting fresh dimensions of mysterious characters and detailing essential memories that directly impact central characters and the story at large. Best of all, the many surprising and unexpected moments tucked within these pages further drove my intense need for the final novel in this utterly riveting series. I simply cannot wait to rip into the last book of this tale and discover the fates of these dynamic characters I’ve grown to love over this enthralling 5-Book series.

"𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦. 𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘖𝘧 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦. 𝘖𝘧 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺. 𝘖𝘧 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦."

Well, this series will ruin me. When I finish the last book, I will either be blown away because of Isabella Khalidi's brilliance, vaporized into tiny water atoms because of Cathal's filthy mouth, sleep-deprived after too many wild shadow dreams or being an emotional wreck because "Valley of Tears" screams I-will-break-you-while-you-read-me.
Consider me not afraid. No, not at all...
I was planning to savour "The Plains of Wrath" by deviding it into three or four portions from which I would sample from day to day. Joke's on me because I lost the battle of wills after one day and finished it some hours later. Goodbye, real-life commitments!
Now about the book... I don't know what to say to make it not spoiler-y. You open Plains, expect a slow building action, and fall from your chair, gasping for air and crying because your heart is SHATTERING!
After that, it got better. Even my dislike of annoyingly buzzing flies got voiced! Squelch the fly!!!
Anyway, what I really loved was Duna and Cathal working together. Not in the literal sense but just talking to each other and being open and honest. It was time correcting their past mistakes and they learned exactly that.
The spice!!! First, I was a human being, then melted from the heat into a puddle and when dear General opened his sultry mouth, I became oxygen and hydrogen atoms. You can find me in the atmosphere now!
About the plot: My friend once told me that you can never forecast a Stephen King's book. Well, I claim not even he could predict the Forgotten Kingdom Chronicles! There are still so many questions and they are driving me insane!!!
To sum it up, a great, great book. Read it and join me playing detective in our quest to solve the greatest mysteries the Continent has to offer!

The Plains of Wrath is a captivating tale with multiple layers. It gripped me emotionally, bringing tears to my eyes just two chapters in. Like I'M Sobbing. Cathal's witty comebacks and playful banter with Duna had me laughing hysterically, and his pettiness was unmatched. The interplay of Spice and Shadowplay added depth to the narrative, keeping me engaged throughout. Speaking of Duna, witnessing their growth, both in power and emotional maturity, has been incredibly rewarding. The blossoming relationship between Duna and Cathal is a highlight, showcasing their development and mutual support. Cathal himself has undergone significant growth, particularly in his willingness to open up and seek help, revealing a more vulnerable side that's truly remarkable. However, I couldn't help but miss Petra and Axel's presence; their limited appearances left me craving more. Their comedic relief and character development added a delightful dimension to the story. Here's hoping they'll receive more spotlight in the next installment or perhaps even a spin-off dedicated to their adventures.
5 fucking Stars! But that ending, no, I didn't like it. lol I can't wait for the next book no cliff hangers, ugghhh 😂

Thank you so much to Isabella Khalidi for my Advanced Reader Copy of 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐖𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐇! This review is comprised entirely of my own thoughts & opinions, & is based on the copy I received.

In true Isabella fashion, this book was AMAZING! I am so in love with this whole series, and each book that releases it just gets better and better. No detail in these books goes unaccounted for. The lore and world building are so beautifully intricate and every single world in this book has a purpose, and I absolutely love that. Duna and Cathal are EVERYTHING to me! The emotions that Isabella is able to invoke through her storytelling are remarkable - I laughed, I cried, I swooned, and literally everything in between. This series is so easy to emotionally connect to, and that is so important to me when I read!

We pick up almost immediately where we left off in the Book 3, and the action starts right away and doesn’t stop for the whole book. We get hit with revelations and one thing I absolutely loved was getting to see Duna come more into her own after all the revelations about her identity came to light. Duna is probably one of my favorites FMCs ever - she’s so resilient and fierce and I admire her so much. She was hit with a lot in this book, and she really takes it all in stride and you can’t help but root for her. And I will literally never get over the relationship between her and Cathal. Their chemistry is electric, you can feel it through the pages as you read and I just couldn’t get enough of it. I was so happy that they were back together in this book and, in even more true Isabella fashion, the spice in this one didn’t disappoint! Make sure to have a fan near you because holy moly! They had a lot of missed time to make up for and just.. phew! The spice was spicy!

Cathal has also gone through a lot of emotional growth throughout the series and it is highlighted very well in this book! I love that we get to see more of his vulnerable side, and I love that he’s more accepting of help than he was in the earlier books in the series. These two are everything to me and I have so enjoyed watching them both grow as individual characters, and as a couple!

Overall, yall know I will recommend this series every single day if you’re looking for a darn fantasy romance series!

I’ll be back to write my review. I need to think. But holy cliffhanger of cliffhangers.

4/20/24–Okay. Here’s my official review.
*I received an ARC copy from the author and these thoughts are 100% all my own*

Plains of Wrath has to be my favorite thus far in this series. We see so much character growth from Duna, as well as Cathal. Both as individuals and as a couple. We also see a sassier side of The General, which had me *rolling*. The way he was able to open up to Duna melted me, and it was just perfect after how heart wrenching book 3 was.

Because this is book 4 of 5, we see so many threads coming together. But *because* this is book 4 of 5, we’re also left with unanswered questions. The attention to detail and hints/threads Isabella puts throughout the entire series is incredible, and to see some questions answered gives you a “aha!!!” moment.

So many times, I felt like that clip of Sheldon Cooper going “why?! Why!? WHY?! Ohhhh. THAT’S why.”

But also, while we’re talking about Duna, let’s talk about how fierce she is. Overcoming lies and deceit time after time, yet still coming out on top? Yes please. And then there’s the way she gives a whole new meaning to “touch him and ☠️”. She makes it clear where she stands with Cathal, and expects him to do the very same. She does not share, she doesn’t allow people to “touch what’s hers” and she’s not afraid to steal his yummy croissants either.

We also see more of her missing memories and find out more about why they were hidden. I seriously spent most of this book gripped and mind blown.

If I could rate it 10 stars, I would. 100%. Even though the ending made me irrationally angry and made me want to throw something. Which takes *a lot* to do. Only one other book has made me feel the same way in the last year. So, do with that what you will. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The Plains of Wrath is the fourth book in the Forgotten Kingdom Chronicles, and boy, was it a good one! I keep my reviews spoiler free, so I won't do too much of a recap here to avoid them! As the fourth book in the series, I knew this would work toward developing the storyline and bring us closer to getting all the answer we want. Things are not looking good - the demons have returned, and no one is safe. Duna is learning more about her past, but there are still some holes in her memories...and those memories might be the key to saving everyone.

What I liked: Isabella has a style of writing that drops in the middle of a deep, rich world, and you become enveloped in it. You know the song in Hamilton - "How do you write like you're running out of time?" Isabella is a machine - she cranks books out left and right, but her writing is so flawless that you wouldn't know that she didn't take years to write a single book....she writes them in months! This series has some incredible history and lore - and we got to find out more in this book - more than I thought we'd learn. Pieces have started to fall in place. I cannot wait to see the conclusion. The spice in this book is on another level. Duna and Cathal have finally started to truly love each other, and that shows. Their emotional intimacy has increased, along with the physical.

What I didn't like: I'm nervous for Duna and Cathal. I feel like its going to get worse before it gets better! I can see where there is a lot building for the final book, so this book felt a little transitional in a way. But still SO GOOD.

I cannot wait for the next one! Isabella has become a must read author for me and I'm so grateful she has given me the opportunity to be a part of her ARC team!

Once again, Isabella Khalidi knocks it out of the park with the 4th installment of the Forgotten Kingdom series. At this point, we know to expect intricate plots, sassy characters and burning hot spice, but something that was a pleasant surprise in this book was the absolute JUMP UP in the fantasy element. Books 1-3 very much range from low to mid level fantasy but this book jumps into HIGH fantasy and I'm not mad about it at all. Now that Cathal and Duna's secrets have been revealed, we finally get to properly delve into the Isle of Ur Chisisi and the Gods, with their magic and prophecies and of course - their magical creatures. 🪽

We also get a few new characters for POV chapters and this was a really nice addition that allowed us to check in with the other kingdoms without needing Cathal or Duna to make a random trip to them for story updates. Overall I think this gave the book a much smoother feel.

Of course, in true Khalidi style, for every longstanding question we have answered in this book, we are given 100 more to ponder but that's just what keeps me coming back to this series because I NEED TO KNOW THE ANSWERS!!!

Are there parts in the book where I'm not completely convinced by the timescales? Yeah, maybe, but it's fantasy and I'm not reading it for realistically paced adventures so it's totally forgiven.

Oh and the spice? Oh boy. I had to take several comfort breaks during this book (if you know what I mean 👀) so yeah, it delivers. It REALLY delivers.

As always, grateful to Isabella for gifting me an ARC of this book and super proud of her hard work 🖤

Have you read the "Forbidden Kingdom Chronicles" series by Isabella Khalidi? If not, you're missing out on a fantasy romance with mythical gods, fantastical beasts, prophecies, and a bitch named Fate. "The Plains of Wrath" is the fourth book in the series, and it continues to follow Duna and Cathal.

The story starts right where the third book left off, and it reveals the "big bad" who is going to shake up (not in a good way) all the kingdoms. Duna, who is a demi-god, is still figuring out her lost memories and coming to terms with her powers. Through her eyes, we see the connections from the prologues of the earlier books, which makes this fourth book even more exciting!

Cathal, the prince of death, is trying to prevent history from repeating itself, and this ties into the prologue of the second book. I'm confident that this will have a significant impact on the characters' journey in the final book, "The Valley of Tears," which is set to release this summer

Isabella Khalidi's writing style and storytelling are top-notch as always, and I'm eager to see how she weaves the plotlines and character arcs throughout the last book in the series. While there was some other woman drama that I could have done without, it does serve a purpose in exploring Duna's self-discovery and her relationship with Cathal.

Some readers might find the actions and dialogues of the "big bad" to be a bit over the top, but don't worry, there's plenty of action and excitement to keep you engaged.

If you haven't read the previous books in the series, I highly recommend doing so before diving into "The Plains of Wrath". The plotlines and character arcs are intricately woven throughout the series, and it will make your reading experience even more enjoyable.

A big thanks to Isabella Khalidi for giving me the opportunity to read "The Plains of Wrath" in advance. It's a fantastic addition to the series and a must-read for anyone who loves fantasy and romance novels. So, add "The Plains of Wrath" to your reading list and don't miss out!

⚠️AUTHOR’S NOTE: This book contains an intense, all consuming, dark romance with high steam, forced proximity, touch her/him & die, hidden powers, and an over-the-top morally gray shadow wielding MMC. 18+ recommended.⚠️

What the previous book, The Sands of Titans, might have lacked in the action department this book made up for, and then some, in every sense.

The main part of the story is driven by re-establishing relationships, in light of new information and knowledge of previously hidden and unrevealed identities.
The Plains of Wrath felt like a more intersubjective and relational story compared to the previous books in this series and perhaps due to this, and due to being accustomed to a more introspective narrative, there were moments where I struggled to understand Duna's thinking in regard to how she was handling matters.
An example of this was around the reveal of Petra's backstory. Petra has always been a favourite character of mine and I absolutely loved the plot development that put her on a more equal footing to Duna, although I felt that Duna's acknowledgement of, and coming to terms with Petra's actions was bit rushed. I very much enjoyed the idea of a life threatening situation being the catalyst for forgiveness, but on the other hand, as this comes in the guise of a battle scene, it perhaps lacked the emotional depth and internal dialogue necessary to back up the thought process that allows Duna to come to this decision, although I suspect that this is going to play out further as the story progresses.

As hinted, this part of the story brought lots of intimate scenes back into the narrative which I am sure many will welcome, but on a personal level I felt that some of these were a bit on the heavy side and unnecessary to the plot.
I did however thoroughly enjoy the build up towards what promises to be a finale of epic magnitude, due to how the threat of Apophis is being presented in a calculated and layered manner, which helped me visualise and process such a complex vision.

I have high hopes for the fifth and final book and I cannot wait to find out how this series will conclude, although I am sure I will also miss these characters just as much once it does.

If you like Fantasy with Romance you will just swoon for this series and this book sees the stakes raised even higher as Duna and Cathal, The General, find even more mysteries uncovered, Cathal's eternal foe gathers strength and forces and the Heavens look on for the battle that will define the fate of humanity. As if that isn't enough, there are more secrets revealed, the connection with friends and allies are called into question, new betrayals and secrets are revealed, and battle lines are drawn with new allies being found while old allies are being lost. and out intrepid pair of lovers...their passion ignites the page and their bond is tested in even new ways.

Isabella is an author who you can count on to leave you fanning yourself from the romance, holding your breath with mystery, and leaning to the book from the tension on the battlefield and bedroom, the throne room and the backroom, and the very hearts and minds of her characters. All are equal parts compelling, inspiring, and thought-provoking. Her command of mythology creates a tension that leads you through a wonderfully wrote universe and the cast of characters is consistent and equally well developed.

This is a series that must be read in order and beware the cliffhangers...but know the next book will be soon and is being written so no need to worry if you will be able to read the end of this series. If I could give this book and series six stars I would so do that right now!

✨ARC REVIEW✨

How do you catch a monster?
You become one.

The demons have returned. Evil always comes in pairs. A long forgotten threat from the East has awoken, unveiling a new, unexpected enemy right in the heart of one mighty human kingdom.

When darkness consumes the world, can a sliver of light ever survive?

How do you even begin to describe a book that leaves you searching for words? As we dive deeper into the saga right where book 3 left us, on the edge of our seats, this journey does not disappoint. It’s a whirlwind of relentless action, emotional twists, and revelations that keep you glued to the pages. And then there’s Cathal, with his obsession adding a whole new layer to the intrigue. We’re on the brink of concluding the Forgotten Kingdom Chronicle series, and the mix of excitement and fear for what the final book holds is palpable. This series has been a rollercoaster - one that intertwines the fates of characters we’ve grown incredibly attached to with a storyline that’s both immersive and relentless. Waiting for the finale is like holding your breath underwater; you’re not sure how long you can last, but the anticipation of surfacing is thrilling. Here’s to the journey so far, and the leap into the unknown that the final book promises.

Isabella has done it again in my opinion. She’s somehow managed to weave intricate details of myth and history through all of the books, you don’t even realise until you get further along in the series.
All of the books are wonderful and enjoyable from the start and you don’t feel like things don’t make sense, but as the books continue and the story evolves, the history and the little nuggets of extra information pop back into your mind, it makes you go aha more than once and ties together parts of the story very cleverly.

This book grabs you by the throat from the get go, there’s no easing in gently and taking it slow like a shadow being kind to new places 😜
No it strangles you and throws you across the room immediately, and it doesn’t let you put the book down.

Duna and Cathal’s growth and vulnerability is a beautiful thing to witness, but it would be amazing to learn more about the stories of Petra and Axel and where they will eventually go, that was such an awesome surprise that sprung to life, we just want everything what can I say haha

I want to keep this a spoiler free review, but if you enjoy reading fantasy that’s a little dark and with a decent serving of spice, myths and legends and will keep you page turning, then you won’t be disappointed.

4.5 stars

I’m not sure I want this series to end ☹ I am so invested in this series and I am 50/50 on wanting to know what happens vs never wanting it to end.

This is the second to last book in the Forgotten Kingdom Chronicles and it 100% delivers.

There is a lot of spice in this, a lot more than in the previous books so make sure you have a fan.

Duna is just the sassiest, most bad a** FMC and I love her. Her heart is so big that she still finds room to forgive even when she has been betrayed in the worst way. And I feel her love for pastries!! Haha.

And Cathal, our Shadow Daddy General.. One word. Swoon. I was a little mad in the last book but all is forgiven. The banter between him and Duna is amazing.

The action is amping up now and I feel we’re headed for an almighty battle!

My only teeny tiny feedback (and the reason for not pushing it up to a 5 star) is that I really wish the plot took forefront over the spice. I get this is a spicy fantasy series, I do. However, Isabella has created such an amazing story line and world that I really want more of that and less spice! The actual plot is unreal. The characters, the history, the mythology… It’s phenomenal.

I am very much looking forward to the final book and I feel my heart is about to be broken.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Isabella is an absolute master when it comes to weaving such beautifully interconnected threads within a story. Every little detail is so relevant and it all comes back to interplay with the plot line at one point of another.

I cannot overstate enough how phenomenal and breathtaking the world is that Isabella has created. Every creature, building and environment is considered so carefully and gorgeously depicted through the words amongst the pages.

Duna and Cathal are such mind blowing characters and in every book we find out more and more about them and it’s both spectacular and soul-wrenching.

The spice is another magnificent part of the story, don’t get me wrong it’s HOT, but there are also aspects of it that interlink so carefully into the emotions and vulnerability of the characters that it feels so pointedly placed.

I feel that this story has been left in the perfect place for the next book, absolutely torturous with that cliffhanger but definitely left me hungry for more.

I just finished this ARC last night and WOW. This is book 4 in a series so yes, you do need to read the first 3 books to understand WTF is going on cause there's a lot happening 😅

Immediately we start off with how/why King Lucan is dead, and the aftermath that ensues because of it (RIP King, you will be missed 😭). We also get to see more of what's happening in each kingdom in this book (which I absolutely LOVED tbh) and these events are absolutely eye opening...the final book is gonna be a doozy for sure. Also, Cathal and Duna get SO many spicy scenes in this one y'all 🥵 like, holy shit. I'm still thinking about some of them🤭 That ending though? It had me feeling all sorts of ways - dumb for not seeing it coming and appalled at the chain of events. I won't spoil it but I'm honestly still going over it in my head cause I just can't believe it.

Isabella absolutely knocked it out of the park (again) and I can't wait to see how she will rip my heart out in the next one. 😂

Isabella did it again. And seeing just how much more Duna is coming into her own, it is perfect. Cathal being there to help her and not holding her back was such a great test to his character. Plus seeing that mate bond growing and others catching on to it, did make me chuckle. The shadow play throughout the book, whew, that was some great detail and insanely hot. And honestly it is hard to go intro great detail as a lot of this book is spoilers especially if you have not read the first three books. These will forever be apart of my guilty pleasure reads. I highly highly recommend this whole series. Plus it keeps me hook to the point I can finish the book without even noticing it. Though I need the next book like now.

I can not begin to find the words to describe the epic-ness of this series!

Duna uncovers so much relating to who she is at the same time, we are discovering the nightmare that is about to unfold, and then some -well that's what I'm preparing for.

If you love your books with unfolding storylines, littered with elements mythology, a great romance, mystery, intrigue, shadow daddy of all shadow daddies, feisty female lead, plenty of spice, amazing world building and sideline characters - this is your series!
Make sure you read from book 1-3 first, like get hold of them all now, that way you will have read all 4 before book 5 comes out.

I freaking love this series! Each book builds on the others and they keep getting better. The fourth book picks up right where the third book ended.

This couple has gone through so much and this book shows a couple reconnecting. Their journey has readers feeling everything and yes it has spice.

Isabella thank you for this amazing book. You have answered so many of my questions and added a few more. I’m excited for the next book! While I love this couple I would love to read more about Axel and Petra 😉

Holy Moly!

I could not put down this installment of the Forgotten Kingdom Chronicles!

Following directly on book 3, wherein a LOT became revealed, this book has some crazy revelations. And action. And banter. And such great spice. It has something of everything, and keeps you wholly entertained, while riding a rollercoaster of emotion.

I loved every moments, the scenes, the setting, the characters, the intrigue. It is absolutely gripping.

This continued story totally sucks you in, and when you reach the end you'll be begging for more!

I have loved each and every one of the books in this series and "Plains of Wrath" is no different. First of all, I absolutely LOVED that the book starts off with action that really continues throughout which was a change from the 3rd book where it was more building necessary foundations in the first couple hundred pages. I also loved how Duna and Cathal's relationship progresses in this book which is different than book 3 where I wanted to slap the both of them silly :P I liked how we really get to see individual growth in Cathal and Duna as they navigate their reality and relationship.

I am ABSOLUTELY shooketh to my core about the ending and cannot wait until the 5th and final book is released.

You will love this series if you love:
-DARK romance
-High fantasy
-Touch her/him and die
-Shadow daddy/shadow play
-SPICE TO THE MAX
-Fated mates
-Sassy/strong FMC

As a series as a whole I really enjoyed this. I loved the second epilogue and the narrator revealing himself it made it all tie together so much stronger.
As far as the book goes it filled with action pact fighting scenes keeping you engaged and I loved the magic elements our goddess Duna really threw it all out of the back for our strong warrior.
Madir taking control was just the closure we needed for his character and once again we have balance across the cosmos.
I'm so glad I gave this series a try and continued after book 1!

Oh Isabella what are you doing to your poor readers!?

I LOVE how these books immediately pick up from where the last one ended. From the first page it’s action packed and it doesn’t let up throughout, just keeps building momentum.

More questions are answered and there are those mysterious ones still toying with us. This keeps a reader completely enthralled with this series.

What I loved the most was the vulnerability Duna and Cathal shared with each other. We’ve seen it separately but I feel they both really took that final step towards their destinies.

I missed Axel and Petra and wanted more from them but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Isabella has great plans for them in the next book.

All in all… how could I have given it anything less than 5 ⭐️

There is a clear relationship that determines the quality of a book based on the amount of all caps and exclamation points used. That is all!!!!
