Hi our names are Karen and Kathy Sills, and yes we are twins. We are very close and share all likes and dislikes. We love to write, and have written a children's book titled Feelings, Feelings, Feelings, which is out on amazon. We have a passion for cooking as well, and hope to have a cookbook out soon!

We live in Harrisville Mississippi with our Mother and dog Molly. We have an older brother who lives in North Carolina. We enjoy spending time with him when he visits.

We both work in child care, and that is how our writing children's books came about. We both have a dream of writing a novel oneday. A big dream also would be to have our own catering business or food truck!

We hope to touch the hearts of children with our books, but also reach the hearts of parents too that read our books to their children. We hope to touch people with our love for food as well.

Wiggle Worm Review

‘Wiggle Worm’s Shape Adventure’ is a fun book, with bright attractive illustrations, that is also educational.
Wiggle Worm is worried because he must find six shapes for his school homework. There are hints in the illustrations and words to help the reader find the shape. This engages the reader.
There are entertaining characters throughout the book to also help Wiggle Worm, like Black Crow. Black Crow helps Wiggle Worm recognize the circle shape of the pillow on the bed.
As well as learning about shapes, subtraction is also introduced when Wiggle Worm tries to work out how many more shapes he needs to find, after discovering each shape. The reader is helped to work this out by a visual image of boxes numbered one to six, which are gradually filled with the shapes each time one is found.
Wiggle Worm goes outside to look for shapes. Tiny Ant helps Wiggle Worm to recognize the shape of a square in the box Wiggle Worm had been sitting on. The reader is given the properties of a square in Wiggle Worm’s description of the square’s four corners and sides that are the same.
Next Wiggle Worm crawls along the river bank. This time Flounder Fish comes to the rescue. He gives Wiggle Worm a hint about a shape that is right under Wiggle Worm. He starts to sing, “Twinkle, twinkle……”
Wiggle Worm realises the shape is a star in the shape of a starfish on the rock he’s been sitting on. Children reading this book or having it read to them would also enjoy this clue.
All the shapes that Wiggle Worm needs now are a triangle, rectangle and a heart. Wiggle Worm is going to give up too easily, and panics about finding these last three shapes. But again someone else is there at the right time to help him.
Something falls on Wriggle Worm’s head. It’s Chester Squirrel munching acorns in a tree. This time Wiggle Worm recognizes the shape all by himself. He sees the shape of a triangle in the party hat Chester Squirrel is wearing. Chester lets Wiggle Worm borrow his hat.
Shaggy Dog meets Wiggle Worm in his quest for shapes. He invites Wiggle Worm to join him in a snack. Shaggy Dog pulls gives him a dog biscuit. Wiggle Worm doesn’t want to eat it; but he realises that the biscuit might be in the shape of a rectangle. Shaggy Dog confirms it is a rectangle and lets Wiggle Worm have it for his collection.
Wiggle Worm only needs a heart shape now. He gets sad again, because he doesn’t think it’s possible. Back at the house his Mommy asks him what’s wrong. She makes him close his eyes, and hands him a heart-shaped card, and a heart-shaped lollipop.
At last Wiggle Worm has all his shapes. He counts them happily.
This book is suitable for children to read themselves, or to listen while it is read to them. It can be used at home, or in an educational institution equally. It can be a stimulus for much mathematical discussion about shapes in the immediate environment.
