In Another Lid to a Potless Existence author T.R. Dailey walks a tightrope of free verse poetry. Written between the ages of nineteen and twenty-five, these poems capture the essence of the arduous journey through the slush, muck, and strangeness of young adulthood. In language that is often humorous, and sometimes gritty, it explores the beauty, power, and darkness within nature, as well as the insecurities and inhibitions that often accompany finding one's hopes and happiness among life's maelstroms of confusion.
A lifetime ago, T.R. Dailey was an animator. A mass layoff changed everything. Since then, she and her boyfriend moved their entire home and forty-four pets from San Diego to Los Angeles, then to Louisiana where her boyfriend became her fiancé, and once again to New Jersey – all to follow her fiancé’s visual effects career. (It continued to New York, and back to New Jersey, never by choice.) Finding it difficult to hold down a job between moves, T.R. Dailey spent her time writing. In 2014 she published “Another Lid to a Potless Existence: Collected Poetry 2006-2012” which is about sloshing through the muck and hopefulness during the transition from young adulthood to being a new adult. She is currently revising her second manuscript.
