Genre: Contemporary Western Erotic Romantic Suspense
Series: Cowboy Justice Association
FULL LENGTH NOVEL

People will do desperate things to keep the truth dead and buried.

Sheriff Logan Wright might be the sexiest bad boy Ava Hayworth has ever seen but she’s not interested in the least. He can have every other woman in town and probably already has. All she wants is to help him solve the murder of a prominent local citizen by a mysterious vigilante serial killer. A fling with a smokin’ hot cowboy cop isn’t in her plans.

Logan doesn’t need a mystery writer, who thinks she’s a detective, trailing after him while he tries to do his job. She’s smart and cute, but he doesn’t want her to get hurt. By him or the investigation. He enjoys the pleasures of women - many women - and that’s not going to change.

But as painful secrets are revealed, Logan begins to depend on Ava for more than just friendship. She’s the first woman he’s known who has kept her promises. It shakes him to his very core, challenging long held beliefs.

Everything Logan wants, but never thought he could have, is within his grasp. With the help of Ava and his friends, he’s going to have to fight the past if he wants any kind of a future.

Publisher’s warning: This book contains sexy scenes including a Harley riding, bad boy sheriff who knows how to dent the wall with the headboard and make his woman very, very happy.

My Thoughts
Really enjoying this series. I was a little wary given that Logan is a manwhore but he snapped out of it and went after Ava quite fast. Interesting plot and worth the read.

Mystery writer Ava Hayworth has always had a thing for playboy Sheriff Logan Wright, but they've never had much interaction until Ava's sister's new father-in-law is murdered on her wedding day. Ava jumps into try to help solve the murder, whether Logan likes it or not.

I like Ava. She's smart, strong-willed, and knows a lot about investigating a crime from her research as a mystery writer. At first Logan seems like a bad boy playboy with no hope of ever having a serious relationship -- and then he makes some discoveries about his past that change how he looks at his life, and that makes him a better person (and a more compelling character).

As a romantic suspense it's interesting, and adds to the overall plot line of the series, though there is some room for improvement in the writing and characer development.

Cowboy Truth was my first date with one of author Olivia Jaymes’ works, but it certainly won’t be the last. I’ve challenged myself to branch out and read new to me authors and I’d say that 2015 is off to a stellar start.

As the third book in the Cowboy Justice Association series, I could have easily been confused by backstory references, however the author smartly inserted just enough information into the plot that I was never in danger of being lost. It also enticed me enough to want to read the rest of the CJA books. Crafty, Ms. James. Very, very crafty (and I love it!). If the third book is any indication, I’ll enjoy wading through Cowboy Command (book #1) and Justice Healed (book #2).

I’ll come right out and admit it – I love a bad boy that’s ripe for a life changing romantic fall, and Logan Wright certainly fit the bill. Not really a “love ‘em and leave ‘em” type, Sheriff Wright appeared to be a man who had no desire to form any sort of romantic entanglements, making it plain to his bed partners so there’d be no misunderstanding. You know that there’s got to be more to the story (pardon the pun), and man did I have a good time peeling back the layers! Here was this man, who was obviously in demand with the ladies, who, in spite of appearing like a bit of a man whore, had integrity in spades. He loved the town who’s safety he was entrusted with – even if he didn’t like or respect everyone in it. I thought of him as an “old school” kind of sheriff – the type of men you saw in television shows in the 60’s and 70’s. The ones who maybe had a crappy personal life, but would give it all (and then some) to keep their word and perform the duties entrusted to them.

Ava was my type of woman - smart, funny, persistent, and unapologetic about her intelligence. That alone made her one sexy woman. She may have come across as innocent, but I think that was more a case of not having a ton of practical experience, rather than not being exposed to sex. She also appeared a little passive aggressive when it came to her parents, and I loved her hard for that. I think we all have those moments (some more than others) when we struggle with the identity that our parents have mentally and emotionally assigned to us, wanting to keep them happy but also have them see us as the adults we’ve grown up to be. Ava came from a very religious background too – being the daughter of a church deacon has it own sets of challenges and pressures to conform – yet she quietly worked to modify her father’s conceptions of how she should behave.

What I loved the best though, was watching Ava systematically wear down Logan, when it came to allowing her to help with the investigation. The instant “no” became less and less emphatic over time, and I did a little fist pump when he reluctantly admitted that she not only had the skill set for the task at hand, but that he really needed someone to assist him with that aspect of the investigation. His surrender was sweet.

What wasn’t sweet, was how Ava and the sheriff got in on between the sheets. Without being completely porn worthy, he teased, tormented and tortured her in the most delicious ways, ensuring that she’d fall for him in spite of her better judgment. He was equally surprised at the tigress hiding behind the demure exterior, making their dance even hotter than I’d anticipated.

Cowboy Truth by Olivia Jaymes has so much to offer – romance, hot and sweaty sex, suspense, and an emotional aspect that I think you’ll find very fulfilling. It’s one of the best books in this genre I’ve read in a long time, and I’ll be catching up on the previous installments of the Cowboy Justice Associationas well as checking out the rest of books released in the series.

Book three in the series. The sheriff is a playboy who feels unlovable due to his childhood. His love interest is an author, has a very conservative father, and is labeled a “good girl”. Fun, but not compelling. I borrowed the ebook from Lendle.

Good girl Ava Hayworth falls for bad boy Sheriff Logan Wright. Predictable yes, but...

The small town of Corville has a lot going on for such a small town. A couple of murders, scandalous affairs, and a smokin' hot sheriff who gets around to keep them all safe...one citizen more than all others.

Ava and Logan are paired up as bridesmaid and groomsman at her sister Mary's wedding to Lyle Bryson. Logan keeps his distance from Ava since she has the reputation of being a "goody-two-shoes" and Logan has his own demons to battle about women. No way is he going down that road even though he finds her, no raving beauty that he's used to but attractive. Ava's heard all about Sheriff Logan Wright and just assume he keeps his distance as well since she's only in town for her sister's wedding and needs to get back to Portland to get started on her next book. Inevitably Logan and Ava do more than walk down the aisle together and Ava is surprised to find out that Logan has read all of her books...murder mysteries.

After the wedding, the patriarch of the Bryson family, Bill, is savagely murdered in his home by most likely one of the wedding guests. Who would commit such a heinous crime and on such a beautiful occasion? And thus the mystery begins to solve the case of who killed Bill Bryson. Ava, being a mystery writer and all, thinks she can help Sheriff Wright find out whodunit. Sheriff Wright has a department full of deputies no less but allows Ava to assist him in the investigation...yeah, right! Before Ava and Logan can find out who killed Bill, someone goes and kills his brother George in the Bryson home. Is this family just unlucky or is someone out to kill the entire Bryson family that Ava's sister Mary just married into?

During the investigation Ava and Logan get intimate and both struggle with their feelings to keep the other at bay only to fall head over heels madly in love with each other, yadda, yadda, yadda. The predictable part of the story. The unpredictable part or red herring of the story, who turns out to be the killer and all the history and bad blood the little town of Corville has hidden up until now and once the first brick falls, the whole house collapses and Sheriff Wright may never recover..less the love of a good woman.

On my Cowboy Scale of Hotness, 4 stars.

Logan's the hero you've been wanting to fall since book 1. He's the womanizing bad boy that you knew he'd fall hard. I liked Ava a lot and thought she was the perfect woman for Logan. And poor Logan. He went through some bad ish in this book. I felt so bad for him. This seems like a weird thing, and the word itself does not bother me in any way, but I was glad for the reduced used of the word c*nt. After awhile it loses its punch. Overall, I enjoyed the book and the mystery. A recommendation from me.

Love this series and was looking forward to Logan's story. He did not disappoint. And yes, I laughed when he fell hard for Ava. I did get sick of him calling her good girl all the time though. I really liked Ava. She was one strong woman and wouldn't take any of Logan's crap. She was like Nancy Drew and I really liked how well she and Logan worked on the case. They were like true help mates as well as great together in bed.
Can't wait for the next book.

COWBOY TRUTH: Book 3 (Cowboy Justice Association) By Olivia Jaymes! It's a Western Romance with Suspense & Steamy! It kept me entertained!

Sheriff Logan Wright was the best sheriff that this small town had ever known, but the sheriff also had a reputation for being a one-nightstand kind of man. Dads had been warning their daughters not to try and date Logan with his reputation. Logan was to be in the wedding party of his friend, one of the Bryson brothers. He'd been friends since a boy with all three of them. He is to be partners with Ava Hayworth, and her sister was the bride. He had tried to charm Ava, but his reputation was well known in their small town. He did dance with her a few times, but her only interest in him was when he told her that he had read all the murder mysteries that she had written. Strangely enough there is a murder at the very wedding they are attending. The father of the three Bryson men, one is the groom, and the bride is his daughter-in-law to the victim. Sheriff Logan has a lot of investigating ahead of him and Ava wants to help him. He refuses her offer but when she turns out to be a good helper, he appreciates all the help. It doesn't take much time when the two of them realize the great job they are doing together, and they make a perfect couple. Yet, nothing difficult is ever easy.

Enjoyable!

I really did enjoy this book. Mordern day cowboys are right up my alley and this was one of the better ones. I loved the cast of characters as they played off one another. Strong, fun leading characters are very important and this book as them in aces. Great story line with great twists and turns to keep you guessing. I enjoyed the strong female lead in this book as well as the strong male. At first I was upset with the roll between the Ava and her parents; how they treated this 30 something woman like she was still a child. Then I realized it really can be like that with some families! Daddies little girl will always be daddies little girl. Sex without marriage first may be old fashioned by todays standards, but in a lot of families it still remains the standard. Hold the phone! Did I say sex???? Yes there is sex in this book. So sadly if you don't like to read about well thought out and well written sex, then this book isn't for you. I started with book three and not book one, and I liked it so much I will look for the previous two! As far as I could tell, each book is a standalone book. If you want a mystery with love, sex and laughter then this book is for you!

Very good

Logan is the bad boy sheriff of Corville. Ava is a mystery writer who is from Corville but lives in Portland. She is back in town for her sister's wedding and is partnered up with Logan. When the grooms father is killed at the reception, Ava wants to help Logan. The gun belongs to a vigilante killer that has been killing in different towns. Logan and his sheriff buddies have Logan makes her a temporary deputy but only to help him look through files. Logan is not a man who wants a relationship or commitment, he's happy being free. Ava starts to get under his skin and they agree to have an affair while she's there. As they search for the killer, Logan uncovers lots of secrets and he is part of one of them. Will Logan have to take down someone from his own town?
A guy who is used to people walking out on him and doesn't want to settle down. A woman who would rather stay home than go out and isn't looking for a husband anytime soon. These two are excellent together. Smoking hot sex. Secrets. Suspense. A little bondage and spanking.

Loving this series!

Logan is the sheriff of Corville. He is also one of 6 small town Montana sheriffs that have joined forces to fight crime in their areas. Working together, sharing information and supporting each other makes them stronger. Logan is the ladies man of the group, never a shortage of women who want him. But Logan has secrets. He and his sheriff friends are working on a vigilante murderer case but there is way more involved than they know. Ava is a crime mystery writer, an independent woman, and a bit of an innocent. But when a murder takes place at her sisters wedding, Ava and Logan join forces to find the culprit. Little did they know what they would uncover and how their relationship would evolve in the process. Great book!

Tanner and Ava: The Beginning

I read this book several years ago but just read Vengeful Justice, book 9 in this series. I needed to go back to how Tanner and Ava started in order to understand all the bitterness of “VJ”. Read this book before VJ. I relearned how Tanner interacted with the brothers Wade, Lyle and Aaron. Ava’s sister marries Lyle who we learn is Tanner’s half brother. Tanner and Wade were best friends growing up. Watching how Tanner calls Ava - good girl. Of course, the help from all the sheriffs who step in to help.
Love, love, love this series. I enjoyed going backwards.

Nothing but the Truth

Ava is a mystery writer. But her storytelling is based on her imagination and research. Not reality. Logan is Sheriff and he's knee deep in a vigilante determined to fatally dispense justice his own way. This is truly a murder mystery wrapped in a romance, and they're both good stories. Ava convinces Logan she can help him with his investigation, and much to his surprise, she can. Fraught with secrets from the past, wanton murders and the development of a strong and well developed love story this mystery is well paced with interesting characters who draw you in to the intrigue of who done it. Well played and written.

Past sins and secrets.

Ava is an author of crime novels and has seen plenty pictures of dead bodies but seeing one in real life is another story. The fact that the dead body is her sister's new father-in-law just adds to the mystery. Logan, town sheriff, finds out the dead man was actually his father makes the murder even more complicated. Loan and Ava team up together to solve the murder little knowing what other secrets will be revealed.

Dang I didn't think I would like these series since it was Paranormal but I'm hooked now. There is not one book I have not enjoyed by this author. Now to Autumn, boy she reeling me in. She was so stubborn and head strong but she hid a lot away from others. Keaton he sure had me wanting to smack him in the back of the head and knock some sense into him but he made up for it at the end. Anyone who reads this will be in the emotions with these characters.

Love this series

Bad boy Logan and good girl Ava work together to solve a murder. She knows his reputation and he even confirms he'll never be in a relationship, but she can't help but fall in love. She decides she'd rather love him as long as she can, and leave when he says they're done, than stop when she realizes her true feelings. Her eyes are wide open. Love that part of the book. Selfless.

Loved Logan's story.

Finally, the 'bachelor viewer's met his forever woman. I have loved Logan's story, Ava is his perfect other half. So many reveals and so much action. This series improves with every book.
I'm sure I have read this series before, maybe years ago. Either way, it is definitely worth reading a second, or maybe a third time around.
I can't recommend this series enough.

Third story

Is a charm. Logan and the rest of the law enforcement guys are still trying to find the vigilante killer but no luck yet. He is at his friend Lyle's wedding. He was set up with the bride's sister Ava. She is a mystery writer. The groom's father gets killed in his office during the reception and Ava offers Logan help, it's the beginning of a interesting story.

Ava is not looking for a man, especially a hot cowboy cop, she just wants to write her stories.

Logan does not want more than a one night stand from any woman, until he meets the infuriating Ava at a friend's wedding. When the groom's father is murdered during the reception and Ava offers to help Logan solve the mystery he really wants no part of her help.

Cowboy Truth. #3

Olivia James has never failed to write and interesting and intriguing book. She keeps all the characters believable and the story lines true. When she integrates the other characters from other books it done seamlessly. As a reader I can't wait very patiently for the next book. Her stories are so realistic, she must use real events for the basis.

Suspenseful and intriguing

This is the first book that I have read from this author and I was pleased with the story. I don’t usually like suspense books. The I liked the blurb so I gave it a try. I’m glad I did. It was enjoyable. If I had one criticism it would be that the sexy scenes were tame. Until next time y’all happy reading.

Truth will set you free

Hot and intense is a good way to describe this entry into the series. A vigilante running around and two murders in his own town bring together our main couple. One scared to love thinking he isn't worthy and the woman that orives he is. Great mystery and loved the updates from the other sheriffs.

I loved the first 2

Absolutely love this author and this series but only ten percent in and I couldn't do it anymore I know it's just a happy romance but he is a sheriff an DC he let's her on a murder investigation it's just way to far fetched and certain other things they do...if u like light hearted romance I'm sure this will be good just to unrealistic for me
