This bills itself as a horror anthology, but some of the stories ("The Car with the Green Lights" by William Le Queue, "The Hitch-Hiker" by Roald Dahl) are really suspense stories. That's not a complaint, because I really enjoyed most of the stories here. My favorites were: "Auto Suggestion" by Charles Beaumont, which has a startling, almost poetic ending; Richard Matheson's "Duel"; Stephen King's "Trucks"; and Roald Dahl's "The Hitch-Hiker." Some of the older British tales don't quite hold up, but they were still fun if predictable.

Duel - steaming down the desolate highway is a car being chased, tormented, frightened and played with. This is an intense, fast, creepy and well told story. Simple yet effective, no real dialogue but the evil truck pursuing an everyday man for no real motive. Fully captures the insane terror.
