Description coming soon!
Beyond the Nox is the sixth and final book in the Blue Avengers MC series. It’s HIGHLY recommended to read this six-book action/adventure series in order due to the continuing story arcs (subplots). However, each book focuses on a different couple who gets their HEA. This series has no cheating or relationship cliffhangers.

Nox's story is another emotionally draining one. Readers have gotten glimpses into his life through the other books but no one fully understands until reading this book.
He has been lost in grief since the loss of his wife but was finally starting to see the sun again. Then the task force found Sloane's sister Sadie after an overdose in a random motel room. This sends him spiralling again.
His brothers in the BAMC are concerned for their brother and don't like to see him like this- which causes the to give him an ultimatum. Get help or risk loosing his job.
He starts to attend a grief group that is now run by Aaliyah who helps him gain the hope of getting better. Aaliyah doesn't let him hide from his grief. And of course sparks start to fly between the two of them.
This book is filled with all the emotion, action, suspense, sadness and love that I have come to expect though the different books I've read by Jeanne St. James. What a way to end the series!
Fitting end for the last book in this series. Nox finally found someone that could help him with his grief. Book is filled with action, suspense, sadness and true love.
By now, I should have been more prepared to handle the conclusion of a series from this author, but once again, I was completely caught off guard! From the Dirty Angels MC, the Guts and Glory series, Down and Dirty: Blood Fury MC, Blood and Bones: Blood Fury MC, Brothers in Blue, (Magnum, Crash and Romeo - and all the crossovers), and now the conclusion of the Blue Avengers MC series - I have been in love with this author’s incredible creativity for years. Seeing beloved former characters appear in the plot was absolutely amazing. I wished my time with these characters would never come to an end.
Merely suggesting her work is incredible would be an understatement; it's beyond compare. What she produces is truly exceptional.
The further I progressed in the Blue Avengers series, the greater my worry for Nox and his mental state. I was aware that his story would evoke strong emotions in me, and that's exactly what happened. It was easy to empathize with his deep sorrow and intense love for his wife, and I had conflicting feelings of both admiration and frustration towards his emotional turmoil.
Aaliyah was a delightful surprise! I admired her resilience and how her journey of overcoming loss and reinventing herself aligned perfectly with what Nox required. Watching her handle the strong men in her life with such strength and patience brought a smile to my face and made me cheer. Their connection is a rollercoaster ride of emotions - it's complex, filled with both sadness and steaminess, and is undeniably addictive. I loved how she effortlessly navigated her relationship with Cait, gracefully balancing the contrasting aspects of her life.
Just like every other MC book by this author, these brothers navigate through challenging and gritty circumstances. My frustrations grew, as I knew that the Task Force's dedication to operating within the boundaries of the law hindered their ability to apprehend the problems they were facing immediately. The troubles involving the Russos and the Deadly Demons finally reach a conclusion in this story, and I was pleased with how everything was resolved.
My heart aches knowing that this series and its extended storyline have reached their conclusion, as each of these stories holds a special and irreplaceable place in my heart. Having Romeo's story still to come fills me with joy, as it allows me to hold onto the characters in this world a little longer without saying a complete goodbye. To truly enjoy the series, I strongly suggest reading this and all the other books in the author's recommended order. An engaging, addictive, and exceptional experience awaits you within these pages.
Beyond the Badge: Nox Blue Avengers MC, Book 6 By: Jeanne St. James Narrated by: Ava Lucas, Connor Crais
I am never ready for one of Jeanne St James's series to end, but listening to Nox's story gave me the closure I needed for this task force. Nox is a mess. Still grieving over the death of his wife and daughter, his colleagues are concerned about his well being. Forcing him to go to a grieving group and for therapy to deal with his grief is not how he wants to spend his time. But when Aaliyah takes over the group, and doesn't let him stay hiding in the back, everything begins to change. Aaliyah has her own ghosts, and though she has had more time to deal with her grief, she still feels that twinge. Now as she works with Nox after hours, he begins to come to terms with his loss. The task force is coming to it's end, and now with things he has seen and new concerns, Nox isn't quite sure he's done with his tasks. When things take a turn and danger comes straight to him, he teams up with the unlikeliest of people. How does it all end? This story packs a punch, that is for sure. St James compassionately deals with relevant situations, breaths new life and love into family, and brings people I love in to keep that feeling of crazy family and community. The crossovers are one of the things I absolutely love about the different series. This is fabulous, passionate, tear jerking and the best listen I have had in a long time.
Ava Lucas and Connor Crais are the story tellers and this team could not be better cast. Aaliyah is ambitious, spunky, and passionate. Her personality is strong yet vulnerable and Ava Lucas plays her perfectly. Each scene is a different emotion and played out as if I was there feeling it. Connor Crais is Nox and this man is layered. He hides behind so much, and as the story goes, Crais begins to use his nuances to play out peeling those layers back. I loved this pairing as always and loved every minute of their performance.
Jeez grab a box of tissues for this one! It had me tearing up in the prolog, then again in chapter 1 and chapter 3, I’m not going to list all the times I cried, I could literally feel Nox’s pain.
“He wasn’t there to make friends. He wasn’t there to socialize. He wasn’t there to compare scars to see whose ran the deepest”
I didn’t just cry, the book made me laugh. When Aaliyah compared her dad angry to hulk smash. Or when Nox mentally recited his Miranda rights as an excuse not to participate in group therapy. Or The “unable to find the most basic stuff” gene was deeply embedded into the Y chromosome. And so much more, I laughed our load when Aaliyah told her dad “I don’t need you being Sherlock Homie” 🤣
I felt dread, I felt relief, this book made me feel all the emotions.
I especially loved all the connections “six degrees of separation” discovered in chapter 6. I think this was especially endearing to me because I have read all of the Down and Dirty books as well as Guts and Glory books. So these cameos were definitely appreciated!
The only bad part is that this series has now come to an end, I feel like I lost a friend. When the other books ended I knew I just had to be patient and more would come, but this is the end and I’m more than a little sad.
I couldn't wait for Nox's read. Grief is a crippling thing and some people never crawl out of it. Nox for two years mourned the death of his wife and child. You don't find out what actually happened until this book. It was devasting and he was struggling. His brothers in blue were all concerned. Especially after a raid where they found a young women who had gone missing. What Nox saw thru him into a tail spin and deeper into his depression. His brothers did an intervention with an ultimatum forcing him to go to counseling and a support group. That's where he met Liyah (Magnum enforcer of the Dark Knights and Liyah's father). As Pig headed and stubborn as Nox was Liyah was able to break through his shield and boy did she. The task force was getting ready to wrap up their almost two year sting against the Demons when it was done for them by the La Cost Nostra. But it appeared Saint and T-Bone got away until they didn't. T-Bone kidnapped Liyah and Nox lost his mind. He went to her father Magnum for help. Not mind you Magnum does not like Cops. This was a pretty tense moment in the read. Not saying anymore you'll have to read it. But I have to admit Jeanne St. James was new to me author and I so do not regret trying her out. I can't want for Romeo's book, but I have a feeling I may not really like him LOL. We shall see.
With every installment of this series I find another reason to love this author and the way she grabs you and pulls you into her world. This series was expertly written and packed so many punches it left me breathless. This is the final installment and if you haven’t read the previous 5 books you must read them first. We have followed our joint task force from beginning till the end. Watched them fall in love, cry, heartbreak, but always finding their happy ending. Nox, carried so much grief and pain throughout the series that I knew his book was going to rip me apart. It absolutely did. Watching as he hid his feelings, swallowed his grief and refused to let anyone in- then seeing how his brothers step in and have an intervention. It was painful and beautiful to watch. Aalyiah is the perfect match and balance for him. She gives as good as she gets, strong, determined and quick to put anyone in their place. I loved the way their relationship grew and all of the interactions along the way!! I laughed so many times and I cried a lot. I cringed and felt pain. I cheered and rallied behind these characters. You will absolutely love this book and this entire world! Want an exceptional ending to an amazing series.
What! A! Book! Wow. I had to wait a little while after reading it to write this review, mostly because I was crying a whole lot of happy tears at the ending and then some sad tears that this is the end of the Blue Avengers MC series. I know it won’t be the last we hear from these amazing characters but I’ll miss them. Nox and Aaliyah’s tale is one of hope. These 2 have had life put them through the wringer and then some. It was lovely to watch these 2 overcome and triumph together. It was an amazingly beautiful story. Don’t worry, we get LOTS of mystery, intrigue, MC drama, the wrap up to the investigation that has been the foundation of the series, HEART-STOPPING moments, super spicy good stuff - LOTS of all the above. I also squealed like a kid in a candy store when some of my FAVORITE characters (not just of this series but EVER) were brought in. I laughed out loud - A LOT!!!!!! I found myself excited about the next book because one of the characters (Shade) is one of my all time favorites and Romeo just doesn’t have a clue what he is in for. Although I’m sad the BAMC series is over, I cannot think of a better way for everything to wrap up. It is PHENOMENALLY PERFECT.
To say that I was excited to read Nox’s book would be an understatement. I have been waiting for his story since he was first introduced way back when and this one is really beautiful. I’m blown away by Nox and Aaliyah’s love story. It’s tragic and angsty considering both of these people have tragically lost beloved spouses. Aailyah’s heading up the grief counsel group as her husband was killed in the line of duty years ago. Nox’s loss is fresher and he has a terribly difficult time letting go and living his life. The text messages that he still sends to his wife, oh man, my heart broke.
I loved Nox and A together, learning how to love again. You can actually see Nox coming alive again through their interactions. No one writes better mature romance than JSJ. These are two people in their late thirties. They’ve both lived other lives but are finding their future with each other. She’s chef kiss a master story teller. As the last book in the series so this one tied up lots of loose ends and the Blue Avengers won the day, of course. I loved every minute of this one and it’ll stay with me for awhile.
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow! Where to start? First off, I have loved this series so much, each and every book. I will say that I have watched Nox in the previous books and he intrigued me. I wanted him to have his own story and a happily ever after…pretty sure I got my wish. Nox’s story has now become my favorite of the series. His grief is overwhelming until he meets Aaliyah. I want to point out that Ms. St. James doesn’t make him sunshine and roses overnight. That man hangs on to his pain and loss like a drowning man would hold on to a life preserver. Luckily for us, Aaliyah is a force to be reckoned with. She has had terrible losses too but she didn’t let them take her under and she refuses to let Nox go down either. Exciting, sexy, sweet and hilarious…this book hits you in the feels. It also throws in Magnum…another favorite…and Romeo…can’t wait to get more of his. We even get a glimpse of Mercy…oh my gosh, made my day! Thank you for the amazing read Ms. St. James, Nox is a definite winner!
A beyond excellent wrap-up of the Beyond the Badge / Blue Avengers Series. Also a happy ending to Nox's seeming everlasting grief, the final shut down of the Tri-State Federal Drug Task Force and their dangerous monitoring of the Deadly Demons, and the surprise disappearance of all the Deadly Demons MC! Only the evil Saint (the Taint) and T-Bone escape so that Nox has a chance to see them arrive to their fitting end.
Yes, you can read this as a stand alone but only those who have read the Down and Dirty: Dirty Angels and the spin off of Diesel's Shadows Security with Magnum and Crash's Crossovers can fully appreciate the world building ability of St. James that is big and bold throughout Nox;s story. Even if you haven't read these back stories, you'll still feel Nox's sadness, enjoy the constant teasing of his brothers that supports him, admire his bravery as he takes steps toward a new love and faces off with Aaliyah's father Magnum, and meets Destiny, his own HEA!
This story was overflowing in the feels department. Nox has been in a bad place for a long time. Stuck in his grief, he is tormented with thoughts of the past. He has been given an ultimatum by his brothers in the Blue Avengers. Work out his issues or be kicked off the task force and lose his badge. His brothers and his job are all he has, so he has to make an effort. Just because they are making him go, doesn't mean he has to actual talk to his therapist or the grief group. He goes through the motions until he is knocked for a loop by the new group leader. Watching Nox work through his pain and loss was incredibly emotional. I went through a gamut of emotion as we watch him take his life back with Aalyiah's help. She was a phenomenal character, I absolutely adored her. Her interactions with everyone had me laughing, she was so intelligent and witty. While I am incredibly sad to see the close of this series, what a fantastic conclusion!
Having followed Nox's depression over the loss of his wife throughout this entire series, it is awesome to read of his HEA. Jeanne was awesome in depicting the grief, the loss, the emptiness, the guiltfelt not only by Nox but also by Aaliyah. The two main characters were just what the other needed to heal their troubled past and help them find everlasting love. There were quite a few interesting twists and turns that had you turning the pages until the very end. And lets not forget the humour as well that kept you entertained. And last but not least the sexy scenes that revved up your own motor. Well done Jeanne. Fitting ending to the Demons and to this BAMC group. It's a little sad to see the rnd but hope we will continue to get glimpses of some or most of all these great characters throughtout the remaining series and/ or new upcoming series.
It's amazing the difference Nox is at the start of the book compare to the end of the book. He was stuck in his grief before. And sure it hurt as he moved forward, but he needed too. He was just lucky to have someone like Liyah at his side during the process.
I loved how Liyah wouldn't put up with Nox's crap and just kept picking at him until he was forced to face what happened. That there was an attraction between the 2 of them was just the bonus on top of things. I thought these 2 were well suited to each other, despite Liyah's family and how much they hated police.
Things got a bit crazy towards the end, but Nox did what he had to no matter what. He knew what was important and didn't GAF how things were resolved as long as Liyah was safe.
The very end was great! Loved to see this couple build such a great family, despite the differences in the extended family. Both of them deserved to be happy.

I have been looking forward to Nox's story and this did not disappoint! He needed someone strong, smart and that would stand up to him. He finds that in Aaliyah but will do everything in his power to fight the attraction. This is a very emotional path for Nox and it will be a long hard road. They both have gone through a terrible loss. I love the way Jeanne writes a story. They are always suspenseful, exciting and romantic. The humor will have you cracking up with some of things that go on with Aaliyah's father. Once you start a book you just want to keep going till to see what will happen next. What more can you ask from a fabulous book that's from a fantastic author. A wonderful way to end a phenomenal series. I can't wait to see what will come next. I received an issue of this book which I voluntarily read and evaluated; all opinions expressed are my own.
Right from the very first book was released in this series, I was biding my time waiting for Nox's book to land on my kindle. Each previous book there was a little snippet about him that made me just want more. So, when I cracked open this bad boy, I knew I was going to be in for a hell of a ride. I laughed and I cried, admittedly I cried a lot. But to read Nox actually "live again" was nothing short of amazing. I loved Aaliyah for him. Unfortunately, they both had incredible grief in their lives and probably would never have met otherwise. Not only did they understand where each other were at emotionally, I think it made them the wonderful couple they end up being because of it. As this is the last book in the series, all previous storylines are tied up nicely. I am a bit sad that this is it, but I do know that I cannot wait for when JSJ releases the next book.
Wow!!! What a great way for an amazing series to end! Nox and Aaliyah’s story was fantastic! I loved it! It was so good to see Nox coming out of his grief and pain. Aaliyah is a big part of his recovery. She fights him tooth and nail to help him even though he fights her back. Their feelings grow for each other. The task force is close to rapping up their investigation so they can deal with the Deadly Demon’s MC. Will Nox and Aaliyah be able to make their relationship work or will there be to many obstacles in their way? Nox’s story is suspenseful, exciting and full of romance! I loved seeing characters from Jeanne previous stories. It was great! I can’t wait to see what Jeanne gives us next!
Dear Ms. St. James. Thank you. Again. You always give me exactly what I didn't realize I needed or wanted. I was a little worried about starting this book because I knew it would be emotionally difficult, and I wasn't sure I was ready due to certain circumstances in my personal life. But, as with ALL of your books, I couldn't resist and HAD to read it immediately. Needless to say, I am so glad I did so. Thank you for providing so much enjoyment to my life. I love rereading your books and seeing past characters whom I love. I'm so looking forward to anything and everything that you will create. Knowing that you do all of this while you have so much going on in your personal life makes it even more special, and I am so grateful for you.
Beyond the Badge: Nox is the perfect final book for the Blue Avengers series. Nox was everything I was hoping he would be. The chemistry and love between Nox and Aaliyah was beautiful to see build and grow as he learns to breathe and move through his grief, and Aaliyah is the amazing person who shows him the way to do so. I think I cried more through this book than any other in the series. And then there is the task force business with the Deadly Demons. The who, what, when, and where of the undercover ops and getting all of it wrapped up was done so well. I couldn't wait to find out how it was all going to go down. The entire book as a whole had me enthralled from start to finish.
"It's obvious that when you give someone your heart, you do it completely." "And now it belongs to you."
5 stars are not enough - best book of 2024!! Holy crap, Jeanne St. James has out done herself with this the 6th book in the BAMC series. Not only did she give her readers wonderful characters in Nox and Aaliyah, but the storyline was PHENOMENAL!! So much emotion, so much heartbreak but in the end it can only be described as a second chance at love. And lets also not forget the humor and undeniable fabulous interaction between Nox and Aaliyah's father who was a former character. Talk about alpha males going head to head. IN all honesty this will be one book I will read and re-read again and again as it has everything I could ask for in a MC novel. Bravo!!
What an exceptional ending to an exceptional series. This book not only focuses on Nox but also on the final days of the Task Force and the disbanding of the Deadly Demons. This book will take you through every emotion you can think of starting with loss, heartbreak, loneliness, and despair and then as the healing process begins, gratitude, laughter, and eventually love. The interaction between Aaliyah’s family and Nox and Nox and his fellow Task Force partners is absolutely hilarious. When it is time to take down the Demons, tensions run high and the ending is one that I did not anticipate. Jeanne does a great job tying up all the loose ends and taking us out on a high note!
Oh Nox. This story is a fantastic end to an amazing series. Nox’s story was heartbreaking to read. I definitely cried some tears while reading. Aaliyah is a tough single mom. She has gone through her own loses & now is helping other people cope with their loses. I love how JSJ wrote Nox’s progression to dealing with his wife’s death. He wasn’t immediately over her & jumping into Aaliyah’s bed. It was a struggle for him to deal with his feelings for Aaliyah & his feelings towards his wife.
There is a great end to the series long police task force. I loved how Magnum & In the Shadows Security favorite, Mercy popped up in this story. Hearing about Aaliyah’s upbringing from her perspective & her thoughts on Magnum was great. I loved Magnum in his story so getting another side of the story from his daughter was nice.
So sad this series is over but this book really wraps it up! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read! Everyone should read this series!
Jeanne St. James has a way of wording stories that you do not realize how invested you are in the characters until you come to the last page and realize there isn't anymore. Then like a drug addict looking for your next score, you continue to shuffle the pages to see what is in store for her next book. When it comes to Nox and Liyah, the push and pull and emotional roller coaster is like a punch in the chest. Their beautiful but intense love story hurts so good, like trying to catch your breath after jumping out of an airplane. If I could give this book more than 5-stars I would! Not only because of her fabulous writing but because it is about darn time Nox got his happy ending!
This is a wonderful ending to a wonderful series. I have been looking forward to Nox's book for sooooo long. To say It did NOT dissapoint would be an understatement. It perfectly wrapped up the series while giving Nox the HEA he so deserved. I love him with Aaliyah, they make a perfect couple. I loved how she didnt let him get away from dealing with her and her help and seeing him finally healing was beautiful. OMG, dont even get me started on the texts - crying! So touching and beautiful. There are so many things I want to mention but I cant because of spoilers, but I will say, I really wanted to deck Magnum. Suffice it to say, you will LOVE this couple and this story. AMAZING!
After the devastating loss that Nox endured, he is struggling to move forward and is pushing away everyone who cares about him. Even though it is the last place he wants to be he finds himself at a support group which brings Aaliyah into his life.
Aaliyah has endured a devastating loss of her own which has led her to help others so that they can begin to heal as well. She and Nox feel an emotional connection to each other but are either of them ready to open their hearts to another person?
Neither Nox nor Aaliyah were looking for love but that isn’t the only obstacle that they must overcome as they take us on a heartbreaking and inspiring ride.
Loved it!! So emotional so powerful! The banter was amazing as usual!! Read it all in one day!! So many tearful moments and so many funny ones too!! The guys together kill me! Was amazing to see how Aaliyah cracked wide open the Hard Nox into the Old Nox! ❤️ seeing him smile again laugh again just melted my heart ❤️ I laughed so much at the part when Magnum had to put the glasses on to make a call!! 🤣🤣🤣 That scene was so intense so much bad ass biker and the he has to put his reading glasses on 🤣🤣🤣 hilarious!
Amazing work as always! Your stories are fantastic and definitely a reread ❤️❤️
Nox and Aaliyah's story was the best story of the Beyond the Badge set!!
timed. Nox is still grieving his wife. He's told by Crew to go to meetings to help him. He meets Aaliyah, who has taken over the meetings. She has been through the same issues as Nox. He's stubborn and truly doesn't want the help, but slowly and surely, Aaliyah brings him out of his slump. This book made me laugh, cry, and want to hit Nox over his head to wake him up and see what's in front of him. I love the banter and the scary Magnum as he makes comments about Nox. Jeanne has written a fabulous story and one I'll enjoy to read many times.
I loved reading this story. I was wanting his story since book 1 of the series. And it was worth waiting till the end for.
Aaliyah is the perfect match for Nox. She's resilient, so compassionate and she knows what's important in life. The world needs more people like this character in it. That you can accept people even if you don't agree with their lifestyles ie her first husband being a cop, her father in an MC and now Nox, a cop.
I'd just have loved a bit more of where all their lives went after the task force was over. But that's just me. I always want long epilogues with good information on their futures.
Another great story/series written by this author comes to an end - and this makes me nostalgic, as I once again fell for her another MS book. How can you do this to me, dear author? Nos (our MC) needs to deal with his past traumas and this is not easy or nice stuff and he needs help. This is how he met Aaliyah, who is the daughter of another MC group member (outlaw). Do you feel the clash? I hope so as there will be some of it - and I loved it! I hope the next series from this author will also bring me to love her characters as much as I did for now!
The elusive Nox gets his story told. I knew it would be an interesting story. Beyond the Badge: Nox has everything you enjoy from Jeanne St. James. There are cameos by characters from her other series. Which is my favorite part. The main one being Magnum, since he is (spoiler alert) Aaliyah’s dad. Got to love all the ribbing the characters do. This story does overlaps a bit with the previous book. I just wanted to finish the book so badly that I stayed up until close to midnight. I did not want to put the book down.
