Great book about weather for younger children. I like the simple experiments that it includes and the way it keeps asking "How's the weather?" then stating. "Look at the sky," because after all that is where to look for clues about the weather. The book includes a description of the basic three cloud types and compares snow, sleet, and hail. The book also gives simple tips for predicting the weather and reading weather maps. My five year old was able to read the weather map in this book.
This is a fun, informational book and I find it something the students would find interesting and want to pick up because of its great illustrations. The illustration are bright and colorful. The students can really understand the maps and graphs represented in the book. I could use this book in my classroom to show my students how rain is formed and show how certain actions occur. Like evaporation and how certain cloud formations create different rain patterns.
Easy reader about weather - includes simple science experiments that are not overwhelming to put together (you only need a pot on the stove and a lid!). Great for my 5 year old.
