Never have I ever...
Broken the Rules.
Had a one-night stand.
Lived out a fantasy.
Slept with the hot neighbors I've been crushing on for a year.
Lost Control.
But I want to...

First of all, if you haven't read any other books by this fantastic author, you're seriously missing out. If you liked erotic BDSM romance than you really need to read her Loving on the Edge series. I first fell in love with this series when I stumbled onto the very first book, Crash into You and absolutely loved it. Not Until You was originally written as a serial spin off from that series, with the heroine being Cela, who is the younger sister of Andre (the hero from Melt into You). I knew right away that I wanted to read it, but my poor impatient self just couldn't bring myself to read it one crumble at a time...so I waited for the full serial to be out and read it as a full book.
I was spellbound. Things like this did't happen in my life. I didn't allow them to. My world was safely constructed and populated with people who didn't push my boundaries.

Marcela or Cela has been a good girl all her life, constantly feeling the pressure to be the obedient child while stuck under her father's overbearing thumb. Now she's finally achieved her goal of graduating veterinary school and is preparing to go back to the family nest to join her father's practice. But before she does that, she wants to truly experience passion and life...and what's a better way to do that then one sinfully sex night with her two incredibly sexy neighbors.

Now before you go getting any ideas, while this book does have a VERY hot MFM scene, it is NOT a MFM romance. It's made clear from the very first encounter that the true passions burns the hottest between Cela and Foster.
You want to play this game, angel, and know what I'm really like? Want to see what you think is such a little issue? Because I've had a real bad day, and there's nothing I'd like more right now than to fuck that notion right out of you.

Foster was absolute perfection. He was also a breath of fresh air since he was (are you sitting down for this) a dom that actually WANTED a relationship and a commitment of having a sub. That's not to say that he doesn't have issues, because he had those aplenty. Guilt from a tragedy from his past, fear of the woman he wants not wanting his particular brand of dominance. He falls hard and fast for Cela (though no insta-love found here), but he's afraid that she's just sowing her wild oats with him.
It was the perfect moment.
With the perfect woman.
And for just those few minutes, as they rolled over and curled into each other, he let himself imagine that it wouldn't be temporary. That'd he'd found that girl.

Cela develops feelings for Foster but she's afraid of being weak or getting out from one man's thumb and right under another. She struggles with her submissive nature and questions their relationship.

I really enjoyed this book, but I also felt that it was a little dragged out at parts. I found myself skimming through parts of the book since my interest would wane. But this wasn't frequent and didn't last long.

My only other quibble is Foster's constant use of the "angel" endearment. It drove me a little batty. I understand that was his "thing" for her, but switching it up at times wouldn't have hurt. It was used 153 times. And I'm a reader that tends to nitpick, so you can tell my dilemma here.

But nonetheless, the book was still highly entertaining, the romance was sizzling, and even considering my 2 quibbles I did still really like it.

There is also a bonus novella included here, So Into You. Which was a nice little addition to the book. I loved getting Bret's story since she really intrigued me in Cela and Foster's book.

If you're wondering if you can read this without having read the other books in the series? Absolutely. Though if you've read Melt into You, you'll appreciate the appearance of Andre, Jace and Evan in this one. However, it can easily be read as a standalone.

3 Oh My Stars

Even though Not Until You is labeled as #3.5 in the series, it’s a full length novel. I sometimes think that in-between books are novellas, but this is not the case.

Cela has her life mapped out. She’s in Dallas finishing up school and will soon move back home to take over her dad’s practice. She just graduated and she wants to live a little before she goes home.

Foster and Pike are Cela’s live next door to Cela and they never really interacted with Cela. Cela knows about Foster and Pike, she hears them in her apartment, especially late at night when both guys bring ladies home.

I liked Cela’s story line. She’s the good girl that wants to go bad, but doesn’t have the guts to do it because she’s been trying to be good her whole life. I like that she is older and she’s at a crossroads. When I read a character graduating from school, I always think of that as the time to finding oneself.

I find it hard to believe that Foster, Pike and Cela never really interacted, but I don’t really talk to people near my area, so okay.

Not Until You is a very steamy read. It’s mostly Cela and Foster’s relationship with each other, but Pike does make an appearance here and there.

Foster has a troubled past and he’s trying to make amends for it. He’s spent years trying to atone for it. He’s storyline is kind of sad and you feel for the guy. Foster is also a dominate and he loves being with submissive. Cela doesn’t know anything about that world.

Cela doesn’t act like the typical newbie submissive, but there are some parts where I kind of wanted Foster to take her a little future. I would say that this novel is for beginners, it’s light and steamy.

Cela is confused with the relationship because she does want to have something with Foster, but she also wants to go home and work with her Dad. I understand the obligations Cela has towards her family and you wonder what she is going to pick.

You can read Not Until you as a standalone and if you are a fan of steamy reads with a touch of D/s, then this is for you.

Cela is an innocent who has caught the eye if Ian Foster. Ian shares his apartment with Pike, both men have shared quite a few women and Cela is well aware of what goes on in their apartment. When Cela goes home to her empty apartment she gets an offer from Ian and Pike which she rejects initially, however when she agrees and they explore one another but she finds herself drawn more to Foster.

Foster is man who knows he wants a woman who he can dominate. He has not found the right woman but when Cela enters his life he tests her to see if she might be the one. Is Cela the one that Foster is looking for and will Cela accept him for who he is?

I liked this but felt it was a little long. The story starts off engaging the reader right away, Cela comes off as naive but she grows up quickly. Foster is a bit gruff but I liked that about his character. Looking forward to next book.

Talk about a story that brings the heat! This was flaming hot, erotic, and passionate! I loved the intense and heated relationship between Foster and Cela, it was awesome! There was a nice mix of emotion, vulnerability, and drama as well making it a really exciting story.

I thought the main characters were great. Cela was so sweet and curious but totally sheltered and I loved seeing her experiment and grow in this wild situation. Foster I loved right from the start, so powerful and commanding but he really had a care not only for Cela but for himself. I loved watching them work through their feelings in the midst of this intense situation. There are ups and downs and a bit of conflict that keep things moving along nicely. I understood where Cela was coming from with her views and I loved Foster’s patience with her.

I really liked the other characters as well, Pike was awesome and helped bring his own amount of heat to the story. The writing was great, descriptive with a good flow that was exciting to read and I loved that it's told from dual POV. I really enjoy learning their histories, about some heartbreaking moments in their pasts and families, and how that played out within the story.

Overall I thought this was a pretty fantastic read. Super hot and passionate with likable characters and I loved the journey of coming together.

I started reading NOT UNTIL YOU back when it released as a serial. And distracted reader that I am, and as much as I love the author, the series and this story. I didn’t finish reading all the parts. *Hangs head in shame* And what a shame that was, because I was missing the most explosive and emotional parts of the story!

NOT UNTIL YOU is the story of Cela and Ian. Cela is actually the sister of one of our already loved males in the series, Andre Medina. Her family has certain expectations of her and one of them is that she’ll return home after graduation. She’s young and innocent. She’s the classic good girl that has lived under her family’s thumb for far too long. And maybe she wants to live just a little before going back to her regulated lifestyle.

Enter Ian Foster, and his roommate Pike, who help rid Cela of inhibitions and show her she can have a great time being just a little bad. But it’s Ian that captivates her heart, as well as mine. Suit wearing, alpha male, that exudes dominance and power, while being serious and brooding. Hits all the marks to probably make your next book boyfriend. He’s the one that you want to save. A tortured man that you’re willing to go past your limits to please. And that is exactly what Cela does.

My favorite thing about their story was how polar opposites they were, but how well they complimented each other. Like pieces of a puzzle. They were perfect to drag out things from the other and help heal those old wounds.

As always with the books in this story, not only is NOT UNTIL YOU an erotic story, but it’s emotional. We go through the ups and down with both Ian and Cela. Their personal struggles as well as their relationship ones. This was such a well rounded, great story that you won’t be able to not fall for these two. Roni Loren gives her characters so much depth that I am helpless but to want to peel back all those layers. And I loved what I found under these!

This edition has a bonus story! I was so very pleased with SO INTO YOU because, even though it’s short, it managed to capture my interest and was very enjoyable! This is about Bret, Foster’s friend, private investigator and Dominatrix. And her partner Malone, alpha male and willing to explore his submissive side to be with her. Can’t wait to see more of these in the future!

So, I did something I NEVER do; I read out of order. I picked this book up having never read any of the others in the series. I am shocked and horrified to report that...it didn't make much difference to the story or the characters. Granted, I would have known a lot more background information about some of the background characters, but it didn't effect the romance between Foster and Cela.

Foster is after someone he can dominate, and not just for the night, and Cela is a good-girl, never doing anything that might cause others to be disappointed in her. An unlikely couple, but together they really brought the best out of one another, Cela stands up for what she wants and Foster gets the unconditional love and acceptance that he has been craving.

They were also hot together, the sexual chemistry between them is well portrayed and Loren peppers enough sex scenes for it to be sexy but not enough so your start skipping pages out of boredom. There relationship also had an element of sweetness in it as well, I loved seeing them together and watching the sexual chemistry grow into something stronger.

A great book and I will definitely be reading more in the series.

I just finished Roni Loren's The Ones Who Got Away (which I found fantastic), and wanted to read something else by the same author. This was the only one available for immediate check-out at the library. I didn't fully hate it, as the one star rating suggests, but it had some ridiculous troupes that created enough eye rolling as to make it hard to read through a page. I still plan to read the author's other series, but I'm going to avoid the other books in this one.

I was absolutely enraptured with this book from the start, and I was dragged kicking, screaming, crying, and smiling through the entire thing.
This book starts off ultra spicy, which really encapsulated my interest and then evolved into the relationship we follow throughout the story.
While I know the whole "I want him but we aren't compatible" and vice versa trope is overdone, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I think the author took this from the typical trope and really morphed it; I cared deeply about the main characters and found myself tearing up or crying on more than one occasion, but I also found myself absolutely enjoying the "scenes" in this book as well.
I keep telling people I opened this book for the smut and stayed for the story/plot!

I've been waiting for the complete novel of Not Until You since I read the first part back in May of 2013. While it's been a long wait, this story did not disappoint. I loved it!

In the beginning of the novel, we are introduced to Cela, a hard working veterinarian graduate who's spent the past seven years studying and being the good girl her family wants her to be. Armed with a little bit of liquid courage Cela decides that she's finally ready to let loose and have a little fun after graduation. And who better to have fun with than the two hotties next door?

Foster and Pike create the perfect balance for this story. Ian Foster is the domineering suit who's cool, calm and in control, except when it comes to Cela. Any time he's around his curvy Latina neighbor, Foster finds it hard to restrain his desire and control his inner dominance. Opposite of Foster, we have the sexy Pike with his boyish charms who's a combination of sexy and funny. Foster and Pike together would tempt any girl out of her panties, so it's no surprise when Cela decides to seek their help in knocking some the items off of her 'Never Have I Ever' (to-do) list.

What I loved about this story:

I loved that Cela showed some culture in her character. We get to see glimpses of her background, her heritage and her strict family. Cela was easy to like and fun to get to know. I really liked Ian and Pike and how they're a balance beam for one another. Right off the bat, I felt myself drawn to their characters. Both Foster and Pike have dark pasts, but it really makes them all the more interesting. I have to admit that even from the beginning, I couldn't help but like Foster more than Pike. I thought that the majority of the story would focus on the relationship between the three characters, but it was obvious from the beginning who Cela really cared for.

It was hard not to squirm with anticipation every time Foster and Cela were in a room together. The chemistry between them was intense and it made their sex scenes all the better. I loved that although Foster was hesitant to dive back into another serious relationship, he still did so many things to show Cela that he truly cared for her. I was refreshing to see that he wasn't your typical playboy.

I really enjoyed the buildup. Usually, I find myself bored after the first sex scene or two, but Roni keeps things interesting. It was fun reading about Cela learning more about the BDSM lifestyle/scene and although the inner struggle that she felt was frustrating at times, it made for a great story. The tension between Foster's broken past and the insecurity he felt with his relationship with Cela, had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't wait to see how this story ended. In fact, at one point I was tempted to read the end just to make sure it ended with a HEA.

I think my only complaint about this novel is I wanted to see more of Pike. Believe me, I definitely loved Foster but I felt like Pike fell off the face of the earth for too much of the story, and he is such a fun character. I really do hope that Roni writes his story. I would love to see more of Pike.

Overall, I would highly recommend reading this serial novel. It really took me by surprise, in the best way possible. I look forward to reading A LOT more from Roni Loren.

Posted on What I'm Reading

For those who don't know Not Until You actually started as a eight part serial: Dare, Risk, Crave, Trust, Beg, Surrender, Believe, and Love. If you are like me, you are not a fan of the serial thing and didn't get a chance to read Not Until You. However, that's not the only reason I hadn't read the serial, the other reason is I hadn't discovered Roni Loren yet. That has been rectify since then. Anyway, the eight part serial has become a one book, YAY. I got a chance to read story as the entirety, and here are my overall thoughts on the Not Until You:

First off, I love Roni Loren's writing, because it's the story that fuels the plot instead of sex. Granted there is some hot steamy sex, but that isn't the main point of the plot. Basically we have two people that have an attraction to one another, but come from different worlds. Cela who was raised in strict family environment, and lives in fear of getting disown and banished from the family. To me that doesn't sound like a family. If you can't tow the line than you need to hit the road is not the definition of family. So, Cela has always tried to stay with in the line and never questioning it until she gets a taste of what Foster offers. Now Foster is interesting guy. He's fueled by this need to protect and dominate. Foster finds that Cela calls to all his need, but he's afraid to touch her cause of her innocence. I think he has a this fear that she's going to run once he gives her a taste of something she secretly craving.

I love how Not Until You is laid out, because you can see each section focuses on one part of the story. You have Dare which is gets Cela out of her comfort zone and taking a chance with her neighbors. Risk, where Cela and Foster have to decided if it's worth it. Crave, coming to terms that they want each other. Trust, both of them have to learn to trust one another which isn't easy for one another. Beg, yeah pretty self explanatory. Surrender, a lot of this deals with Cela deciding if she can surrender to Foster. Believe, Foster trying to get Cela to see the possibilities. Love, we have to have a happy ending. In each part builds and I think each part was title appropriate. Overall, I love the characters and the story, because it's just beautifully written. Plus, Roni Loren packs a lot of emotion into her stories. They aren't one sided characters, but deep and flawed. I love Foster cause he's a tad bit over protective and feels the need to protect. Cela is great because she has such character growth. At first, she's shy and innocent, but grows into this confident person that she didn't know was there. So, if you are looking for that hot steamy read that's going to keep you warm these cold winters night you might take a chance on Not Until You.

I'm ashamed to say that,

NEVER HAVE I EVER...

read anything from this author before.

I know, I know. Go ahead and slap my wrists. I can take it.

I will however, read anything and everything that this author puts out from this point forward. What an incredibly HOT and EROTIC read! Whew! I am still fanning myself thinking of all the incredible scenes in NOT UNTIL YOU. Roni Loren knows what the hell she is doing, and she does it VERY WELL! NOT UNTIL YOU was written as a serial spin-off to the highly talked about Erotic BDSM Loving On The Edge Series. Now it is all packaged up in one sexy, smart, and erotic novel.

NOT UNTIL YOU is a story about a woman who has accomplished everything that has been placed in front of her. She has been a good girl all her life and it is starting to bore her. When a sexy and alluring proposition is put forth, with little hesitation she takes advantage of it. Cela has never experienced such passion, such euphoria, than she has from the man next door. Foster has yearned for this woman for as long as he can remember, but he stayed away thinking that she wouldn't want anything to do with his type of desires. In one night, passion explodes and takes them both on a journey that is sure to break both of their hearts. Will Cela run away and hide once Foster shows her sensual pleasure she has never experienced before? Will Foster turn away for the fear of losing his heart to a woman whose life is already set and mapped out for her? NOT UNTIL YOU is bursting with secrets, sex, and passion beyond your wildest dreams. It is entertaining, enjoyable, and out of this world erotic.

This book can absolutely be read as a standalone, although if you are anything like me, once you devour this you will be checking out the rest of the series as well. Not only do you get this great novel, but you get a little gem at the end of this book in the form of a bonus novella. What a great surprise, and amazing little addition to a fabulous read.

Not until you is a great read if your in the mood for a kinky, sexy, well paced BDSM book with a good story. Both main characters are well developed and very likable and although they have smoking hot chemistry they come from very different lives and backgrounds.

Cela is a good girl who comes from a very strict home. After graduating from Vet School and preparing to move home to work at her fathers clinic, she realizes that being a good girl is very boring. She's ready to take a walk on the wild side and have some fun before her new job starts and she knows just the guy to bring her out of her shell.

Foster lives on the dark side. He has certain tastes and desires that his sweet innocent neighbor couldn't handle...or can she? After living two years next the shy but sexy neighbor, she makes him an offer he can't refuse.

"Never have I ever"...

What started out as a fun game to help his sweet and naïve neighbor take a walk on the wild side, turns into a much bigger connection than the two had ever anticipated. Foster is older than Cela and has had some trauma in his past. He's ready to settle down with someone but comes with certain kinks that aren't for everyone. Cela has been thumbed down her entire life by her controlling father and is just beginning to find her way. She's not entirely sure who she is or where she belongs but she knows she feels something deeply for Foster. More than she ever expected. However, Foster needs control in a relationship, especially in the bedroom, and Cela's done with being controlled...or is she?

When secrets are revealed and desires discovered, how will these two handle being together? It's a journey filled with scorching sex, unraveled secrets, self acceptance, and discovering who you are. If you're looking for a book that will keep you entertained, has a bit of mystery, and is bursting with hotness, this book is for you.

I really hope Pike, Foster's best friend, get his own book. He was a yummy and hysterical addition to this book.

I just read this book this week, and overall I found it to be pretty enjoyable. Not Until You by Roni Loren is book 3.5 in the Loving On The Edge series. If you look at the series numbers, you can see it's the compilation of a serial, I believe. And if you ask me, it shows in the reading.

Cela is a young woman, just finished college to become a veterinarian and she will going home to work in the family practice. But before she goes, she's going to have a wild night with TWO of her sexy neighbors, Pike and Foster. Yep, we are talking a HOT threesome. As for Cela, I liked her for the most part. I did find her a bit wishy-washy at times, but the overall arc of her character was likable.

Now the guys - holy geez, they are are something else. Pike is a drummer and he's tatted and laid back. I really liked Pike. In fact, I liked him more than Foster. Foster is more reserved, business suit sexy. And the man is a Dom. And as it turns out, Cela is a natural submissive.

This all carries the millionaire vs. virgin theme that's pretty popular in the romance world right now. But these two make it hot, and it works for them. The sex is incredible. Seriously, these two get it on like Donkey Kong!

The arc of the story moves pretty well. It actually covers a lot more of time than you'd think, and I like that. However, there were several points in the book where I felt like the story could have ended right there and I'd be satisfied. That's where the feel of a serial comes in.

So yeah, pretty good story, hot sex, likable characters. I've not read Roni Loren before, but based on this book, I'd give her another go-around.

Review from rawbooksonline.com
First time reader turned life time fan with this one book. I liked the synopsis (obviously) but the synopsis didn’t do this justice. The writing, the storyline and the character development is so well done that I was reading along enjoying the hell out of Cela and Foster and thinking that things were wrapping up; I was ready to sit and write my 4 star review. BUT…then I checked my progress and discovered that I was only 44% done with the book! I was blown away. I was happy with how things had been going along. Most authors would have wrapped it up and called it a day around that mark, but Roni Loren went on to give me another 56% of amazing storyline and smokin’ hot sexy times. Now I am scrambling to get and read more in the Loving on the Edge series and I am sitting here writing a 5 star review because I was given everything I wanted for Foster and Cela. Cela learns A LOT about herself and Foster gets some closure and the girl. Can’t go wrong with that! Also, I always ask myself a couple ofquestions to see if I am being reasonable in my star rating or if I am having a fangirl moment and riding the high of a good book. Questions like: What there anything that I was left wanting more of? Was there anything that irked me while reading? Would I reread this book? Would I buy this book for a friend to read? I can say with raw honesty that I got everything I wanted and then some with Not Until You. I got everything I wanted and I would definitely buy this for a friend. Reread;27/7/15: I finished Pike's book yesterday so of course I just had to reread Foster's. Still love the angst.

3.5 to probably a close 4, tbh. I went into this expecting smut and I got so much more. I didn't expect the characters to be so...intense.

I didn't even read the blurb before diving right in and, for those who know me, that's saying something. I'm like a Pavlov experiment the second I see 'Roni Loren' on the cover. Roni Loren...gotta have the book yesterday. And this one, like the rest of the series, hit early, hit deep and hit often so that I couldn't have put it down if the house was on fire like 'grab the book, grab the other living occupants and out to the neighbor's lawn to keep reading'.

Okay, okay, seriously. So this book started out as a serial story that in the sequence came between books three and four in the series and now its all together accompanied by a bonus novella (yep all that goodness and the extra story about a side character). It could be read as a standalone in a pinch though I would definitely suggest trying to get book 2, Melt Into You, in first since it is the heroine's brother's story and will make better sense of what is going on with the strong connection there.

The story begins when Cela comes home from her graduation to a lonely apartment and a bottle of tequila. She has done the right thing her whole life and the sight of her hottie neighbors, Pike and Foster, in the hall nearly undoes her. They issue an invitation to come over for pizza and porn (though she's only iffy whether Pike was kidding about that). She gives them her standard good girl response of 'thanks, but no thanks' and heads in alone only to realize that she's blowing perhaps her one last chance to do something spontaneous and daring and maybe wicked. She left her small town home and overbearing parents to see how the rest of the world lived and instead had just been following the rules long distance. A few shots of liquid courage later and she is knocking on their door.

Foster has watched his young, innocent and naive neighbor for a long time. Normally, he's not into someone so vanilla, but she fascinates him and awakes the dominant in him that sees the natural submissiveness in her. During his times of bringing women home and sometimes sharing them with Pike, his best friend and roommate, he deliberately gets things loud knowing the secret of their shared thin walls. She gets off to his escapades and he gets off to that even when he is with the others. Pike's invitation to Cela meets with the response that he expected and knows is right. She doesn't belong in his world or even have a clue just how dark he can get. Cela would run away screaming just like the last one did and his heart couldn't take more rejection like that. It's best to play with those who know the score and aren't tempting enough to touch his heart. But then, there's a knock at the door and his innocent Cela begins to show him that maybe, just maybe he might have gotten her all wrong. Dare he take just one more chance?

Wow! Each time I pick up one of these books, it is a different story each time. It's not the same story with just a new set of names. They all offer a different glance into the BDSM world. In this case, it is following a young woman through her introduction into the world and her response to it and the man who is putting himself out there trusting her as he showed her his world.

It was interesting how sections of the narration are told in first person point of view when it's Cela and Foster's is in third person to offer the feeling of up, close and personal experience it right there with Cela to more of an objective, step back and breath with Foster. Although, that in no way means that Foster is distant or unrelateable. Nope, this poor guy was so vulnerable that my heart felt for him as he waited it out to see if Cela was 'The One' or was 'the another one to break his heart' as he was used by her to scratch an itch and satisfy the curiosity or maybe just maybe stay around for something deeper.

I really wasn't sure if I was going to like it at first. Certain things made me nervous. Cela was in a different place than Foster in just about every way that mattered, but particularly when it comes to sexual experience. She is sexually naive and nearly innocent. Though like any other younger person, she is 'rarin' to go full speed ahead damn the consequences' to dive in head first instead of sliding into the deep end of the pool carefully. Foster has grave misgivings about the whole thing because he knows that she isn't taking things seriously. This is a one night experiment and fling for her even if its not for him since he's wanted her for a long time and understands her better than she understands herself. He tries to do the right thing while treating her like an adult, but she lies about something important and then later she does it again claiming at the same time that she feels she doesn't know him. This type of relationship is about trust and communication and Cela is not demonstrating either of those. That always gets me tense when I see that. Thankfully, I was in good hands and the author knew what she was doing and so this ended up as the kink version of 'My Fair Lady' instead of a disaster (admittedly that analogy falls way short, but it was on my mind as I read this so I tossed it in for good measure).

Here's a little quote of the passage where Miss Cela decided to poke the bear or should I say wolf:
He raked his hand through his hair. "You know why I walked away."
"Right. Yes. You're the Big Bad Wolf, and I'm innocent, Little Red Riding Hood. Got it. Let me go find my freaking picnic basket."
She moved to walk past him, hair whipping behind her, but he grabbed her wrist, halting her. "You know it's more than that. Don't act like it's a small thing."
Those chocolate eyes held challenge as she met his gaze. "Isn't it though? So you're a little kinky. Whatever. Big Deal."
"Whatever?"
pp. 142-143, Cela and Foster, Not Until You

So yes, these two were in two different places in their lives and they had so much to work out between them as a result, but I loved the author's cunning way of telling a story so that I was more than willing to be right there with them through it all. Foster is an experienced Dom and enjoys inflicting a bit of pain in his passion so he despairs of ever finding a woman who will commit to a lifetime allowing him to own her and dominate her in this manner. He has his eye on the lovely, but pure and innocent woman next door who takes care of her sexual needs alone on the other side of his bedroom wall. For all his dominance, he is more emotionally vulnerable than Cela because of a terrible tragedy in his family's past and a broken engagement. I loved that scene near the end when Cela is right there beside him telling the world how wonderful he is and how his work makes him a hero. Just so heartwarming.

Gah, yes, heartwarming. I keep saying that about this series. It gets hotter than Hades much of the time with the kink, but it is emotionally engaging too- humorous, heartwarming, sweet, sad, and so passionate. I get so vested in the lives of the characters and not even just the main characters. Foster's buddy, Pike, is the coolest guy. I love bumping into other characters from The Ranch in various scenes. The one with Cela, and Jace with her brother Andre was so hilarious.

As to the novella, I was unaware it was there when I got the book, but was so glad for that surprise. The heroine, Bret, was a really minor character in Not Until You though her presence makes a pretty good impact. I guess a ton of people were curious about her so generous lady that she is, Roni Loren wrote a little follow-up piece for Bret. I enjoyed Bret and Malone a lot and this was only my second ever book with a Domme so that aspect was quite the novelty for me.

All in all, this was another one that drew me in and got me vested in the characters and their lives. I can't push this series enough to those who enjoy mild to moderate BDSM and a whole lot of character and plot development in their romance.

My thanks to Penguin Group and Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Dr. Marcela “Cela” Medina comes from a very conservative Mexican- American family. Her father has been grooming her since childhood to join his veterinary practice. He has her life all mapped out for her, including a house across the street so he can look out for her. Nevermind that she’s 24 and is totally capable of living her own life. Cela has always been the “good” daughter especially after watching her sister get disowned when she got pregnant as a teen and had an abortion. As she gets more involved with him, Cela struggles with his over-protection and desire for control. She already has enough people ordering her around, she doesn’t want another one! I really liked Foster, his company, and he was very respectful.

It’s really sexy and very hot, Roni Loren has always handled sex scenes very well. It’s very sex-positive, no shame about being a submissive partner or about the Never Have I Ever game she plays with BOTH her neighbors. There are multiple explicit sex scenes including m/f/m intro game with Foster and Pike…melt your panties off hot lol! It also has ample BDSM, so if this is not your thing, consider yourself warned. This is an older novel (2013) but Roni Loren was one of the authors I recommended to beginner BDSM readers when Fifty Shades exploded. Cela enters into the relationship well informed with plenty of consent. It bounces between both POV, so we understand Foster’s protective side right away even if Cela doesn’t.

It is a longer series (9 books) but each follows a different couple, so they can be read on their own although characters pop up in the latter books. I know some get more diverse. I believe a m/m/f is later in the series. in the paperback edition, there is also a short story of Bret, a Domme (female Dominant) and a male sub, so if you like some variety continue on after “Not Until You.”

This was originally an online serial, so each part is about 40 pages, so this was a little long (360+ pages). As a result, it did get a smidge repetitive with Cela waffling between duty to her family and desire to stay in Dallas and be independent. I can understand her dilemma, but Foster made it an easy decision for me lol! I will definitely be continuing on, especially since I already own the series in paperback

Roni Loren's Loving On the Edge Series has been a rollercoaster ride for me. Unfortunately, it's one of those series which everyone absolutely loved and couldn't get enough of while I'm just cruising by in the story, hoping it'll get better. The first few books I really didn't enjoy and unfortunately, this is similar.

This story revolves around two characters: Ian Foster and Marcela. They're neighbours and have been for several years. Now that Cela is graduating, she feels like she deserves one night of no-inhibitions and she enlists the help of her neighbours - Pike and Foster for that. The attraction between Foster and Cela is from the beginning but they engage in a little menage after which Pike backs off knowing the two of them have feelings for each other.

Unfortunately, Cela has a future for her waiting at home. She's been groomed to take over her father's clinic. Her ex-boyfriend who is the only man her father ever approved off is waiting for her at home and pretty much an apartment is paid for. She's terrified of going against her family's wishes because she's seen that her father kicked out her sister and never patched things up. She loves her family and doesn't want that to happen to her.

However, she can't live with the what-if between her and Foster and decides to stay for a few weeks. Foster already has scars from an old relationship. A woman who he proposed to never said yes because she couldn't live with the 'kinky things' he did and it broke him. Now, understandably, he has trouble trusting anyone. Especially because Cela is leaving, he doesn't want to feel anything for her. Unluckily for him and luckily for us, that's not how it works. They can't control how they feel for each other and soon, they're falling deeper and deeper.

[spoiler]

The one thing that I did love about this story was the fact that Cela didn't abandon her family to be with Ian and nor did they abandon her. We late find out that her father did go to make amends with her sister but sadly, her sister didn't think so. I've written this on several reviews because it's my opinion, that families should stay together.. There's no amount of wealth, property or anything materialistic worth giving your family up for.

So now I've read a few of this series, I can speak like a pro about BDSM right? Well, this is the first one which sagged a bit for me. I really wanted to abandon it. Here are the things that did not do it for me, but I know other people love so don't not read it on my account!

Fluffy BDSM - I get that Cela is so innocent. I get that this is a slow introduction but it was a bit too slow build and tame compared to the other books. There was too much thinking, preparing, talking, angsting. Just get on with it people!

Virgins - It's just not my thing. Cela is just too innocent! She has lived in a town studying and made zero friends. She doesn't party, live on campus or interact with any course mates to my mind. She doesnt seem to have much reason to stay in town because she's barely explored it. I just found that a bit sad. And one minute she's so shy she can't even flirt, then boom... menage!

Changing your life for a guy you just met - It just makes me grind my teeth. I didn't like all the guilt. Her guilt for feeling dirty. Her guilt for betraying her family. Just infuriatingly non 21st Century.

Fighting for independence then being bossed around by new boyfriend - I get that he's a dom. I get how the author explains Cela's desire to be submissive but I just wanted her to grow some balls and break free from all of them.

Millionaire romances - Not my first port of call. They just give me the eye rolls. Rock stars, bikers, jocks and geeks are more my thing.

Pike vs Foster - Come on people. Cela is such a prude! How can she turn down Pike?! He was by far my favourite character. I loved him more than aloofed, suited Foster.

Instalove - It was all a bit too quick and too intense

BUT. Still, 3 stars as in general, I love this series big time!

This book wasn’t my favorite of the series but i still enjoyed it. It got kind of slow at parts and was super frustrating because the female lead character was super indecisive the entire book. One minute she would be about it and then the next she was shaming herself for liking what she liked. So that was super frustrating at times to me.

The book starts with this vet student graduating and starting her life after college. She is staying in town for a month to help at the clinic but she is planning to move home to her dads vet clinic back home like it has always been decided upon. Anyways she finally meets her neighbors next door that she has a super big crush on and she is able to hear them having sex all the time. Anyways they invite her over she says no but then goes over later after she realizes she wants to live a little before she moves back home. They end up taking her out and she tells them she has a list of things she wants to do before she leaves. They promise to help her fulfill them. Apparently a 3some is just what she wanted so they go to a hotel and menage. She realizes though that she only cares for one of them, foster. But foster has an appetite for controlling women and she doesn’t want to be controlled because her dad has always been controlling. Well they go back and forth and then they end up ending and she moves back home. She finds out she is miserable and so when he comes to see her and is busted by her dad he opens himself up to her one more time and apologizes for everything, they agree to see what happens..kind of…family stuff gets in the way. There is a lot of outside of the bedroom issues in this one that are heavy things. Anyways she goes to him and goes herself over and they live HEA.

Roni Loren is a new-to-me author. I didn’t know what to expect and I went into this novel expecting a sexy little romp and enough “dark, dominant alpha dude awakens sexuality of wide eyed innocent, awkward girl.” And I was fine with that. It’s kind of my thing these days. However, what I experienced with Not Until You was so much more. The depth of character and unexpected plot developments made this such an intriguing read. It is not a fast read. You really have to settle in and read this novel, but I was game and was certainly rewarded in the end.

Cela is a young, recent veterinary school graduate who has lived an uber vanilla life, always being the good girl, focusing on her studies, staying away from trouble and living her life, knowing her ultimate plan was to move back to her little hometown in Texas where she would save her father’s fledgling veterinary medical practice and marry her puppy love sweet heart. Cela sees the path before her and while resigned to place her first steps along that path, she can not help but detour and explore a road well traveled- but previously forbidden to her. Cela has two hot (HAWT) neighbors (Pike and Ian Foster) who are going to be her fling, her first and last experiences of reckless abandon that she will lose herself to before she has to return to her vanilla life fulfilled with unfulfilled desires. I like a good, sexy scene with a threesome for kicks…but I am not usually a fan of polyamorous relationships. I found myself deliciously excited when Pike, Cela and Ian got all hot and handsy with each other, but I dreaded reading a story where the heroine lives a lifestyle of continued pleasure with both men. Needless to say, when it became obvious that Foster was the only man for her, I really connected with the story. I know, crazy- I like my BDSM kink and dirty nasty things- but I get wigged out at the prospect of a sustained Big Love situation- hey! Don’t judge dude. *wink*.

Foster. Foster. He has had some serious suppressed needs that burst free once he found Cela to be his willing little submissive. There was quite a bit of convincing Cela had to do to get him to open his heart (and flogger) to her. It almost boarded on excessive, the lengths she went to, the damn near chasing she did, which felt out of her character. One night she is bashful and so nervous she nearly shatters her cell phone and splatters her Chinese take-out dinner, when she merely runs into Pike and Foster and the next she is trying to get Foster to engage with her in a very vixen kind of way. That nagging disconnect aside, I found Foster to be a deep male hero. I rooted for him for sure. When Cela had her head in her ass, I cursed and flailed my arms about. When Foster exposed his own vulnerabilities, I wanted to see him happy. I love when good character development engenders such visceral reactions and connections with myself and the material. The obstacles Foster and Cela were not super angsty, but the reader is definitely taken on a journey. What was supposed to be a one night stand, walk on the wild side, evolved into two people coming together – and repelling like opposing magnets. Foster had his own emotional shit going on and being treated like a playboy fling grated at him deeply. Cela had baggage with her familial obligations and innocent lifestyle. She wanted to break free and run to him and he wanted her free and running to him- but not the “For-A-Good-Time-Call- Guy,” so he pushed her away when he wanted nothing more than to hold her close.

“You know what it makes me feel like when you lie to me?” he asked, his voice soft now.

I pressed my lips together and shook my head, feeling a little more miserable with each passing second.

“Like your fuck buddy, Cela. Like some guy.”

I winced at his pained tone. So it was true. I’d hurt him. The thought ran through my head like a storm warning on repeat. Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. Foster wasn’t just angry that I’d lied to him; Hurt meant that this was important to him. Hurt meant that his feelings were involved. Hurt meant that earlier tonight, he hadn’t jumped my case about the peephole because he was some overbearing asshole- he did it because he was genuinely concerned about me. Hurt meant everything.

Get ready to break out the Herbal Essence…Yes! Yes! Yes! OMG this book is chocked full of awesomeness like this. Yes! Dammit Cela hurt does mean everything. By the time she finally GOT IT, I was spent! And not only from this ah-ha moment goodness. Foster was Cela’s first in every carnal way. He took her innocence and molded her and it was damn sexy to see them ignite the pages. Their passion, did not come across as cheap-o teacher-student, dom-sub pairing. Loren took care to sow the proper seeds so that their sensuality was beautiful and meaningful and that is damn impressive for a BDSM themed novel.

Though secondary, the friendship between Pike and Foster was amazing as well. I was pleased as spiked punch when Pike, knew and respected his best friend’s desires and gracefully gave him privacy and room to connect with Cela, when he could have pushed his own agenda and plowed right through her. Pike’s stepping aside and joining Cela and Foster together was a small but integral and pivotal moment in their coming together. Gotta love Pike!

Not Until You was a meaty take on a often cookie cutter genre. It wasn’t just about the spankings and sensuality between dominating and submitting. It was also about two people reaching for each other in love and passion – when they would have otherwise lived beyond each other’s orbits. Cela is a heroine who I lost myself in…I mean after all…this sounds like a fun way to pass the time hunh…

Oh, God,” she moaned, her grip on him easing and a softness smoothing her tense features. “Yes…this.”

And that was all he needed. He moved inside her again, the feel of her like hot cashmere around his cock…she was so maddeningly sexy. Sweet agony bled through his veins as he pumped into her with a cadence that belied the urgent need building in him. He would not rush this. He didn’t want it to end. He didn’t want to lose the beautiful sight of her beneath him…the pained bliss that was coloring her features…”

Well played Loren. You certainly made a believer- and a reader out of me.

Roni lorens heroes take some getting used to. The hero in this story, Foster isnt AS hypocritical as the other heroes in books1-3 but he definitely has his moments.

At some point in the story he is stalking Cela and ponders how after a month could she be over him so quickly. This coming from a guy who deliberately called another woman to his office after an argument with Cela. Cela sees this woman while she is waiting for a cab in the lobby. Not only that the reader is privy to his inner dialogue where he would have attempted sex if he didn't feel bad about it. Mm, just the thought is pretty damning but he wants to be all high and mighty if Cela had moved on after a month without contacting her.

Or, his constant crap about not lying yet he texts her with his roommates phone. That was low. I did like this hero after reading his history but as usual the hero harps on and on. One minute he understands she is inexperienced next he is punishing her for her reactions to things.

I was frustrated with how everyone in Celas life treated her. Including her mentor/ boss who stated she had time to respond about a job offer bu then gives the job to someone else.

And why couldn't we explore 4N developing a collar for animals? Just saying what a marketing opportunity!🙃

I am loving this book so far! It's giving me Fifty Shades of Grey vibes but I must say/feel that it's very much well written than E.L. James'. I am enjoying the story line and the author's writing style as we go back and forth between the male's POV and the female's. We get a really nice pacing and dual POV. I love the whole neighbors aspect to it and how the mixture of BDSM. It's just the right amount and it's very on-the-edge-of your-seat pacing as you want to know what happens next to the heroine. Will she give into temptation and go for it? Or will she play it safe and follow the path that has always been layed out for her? It's a very emotional roller coaster and the secondary characters are funny as hell too. Am going to continue reading and hopefully update more!

Just wanted to write a quick review before I dive back in but I still haven't finished the book yet! Hoping to get to page 175

I've been struggling with an intense book hangover. It's been weeks since I could read something.

And then Foster and Cela happened. And I read them in 6 hours.

I know I should be talking about Cela and how much I adore her but Ian Foster made this book a five star for me.

He is just so precious. He's older and experienced and is willing to be used to fulfill whatever fantasy that our innocent Cela has. But I just want to cuddle him. He opened himself to a devastation that he's experienced before ...all for Cela to complete her "Never Have I Ever" list before going back to her 'real life.' His motivations behind everything was just so beautiful. No spoilers but it brought tears to my eyes.

Cela is young and a little flighty, so she doesn't understand how much this means to him. At least not at first. But she learns.

And love still finds a way.
