My four year old son and I read this one together! He absolutely loved it! He enjoyed interacting with the book when the child in the story would ask questions that he could easily answer. We have one of the other books in this cute series, so he was happy to get this copy as well! I definitely recommend this one for all younger kids. It’s bright, interactive, fun and engaging!
My nieces came and we had the opportunity to read and share this book with them. My 6 yr old niece read this out loud to her little sister and they both had fun. I asked her how she liked it and she said it’s really fun and I noticed that she managed to read all the words correctly. One interesting thing is that it held the 18th month old’s attention and she took the book from big sissy. The funny part is they both were singing the “clean-up song” that is usually sang at preschools. Well all I can say is that it was a successful read after all.
The sturdy board book and size are perfect for little hands. Bright artwork with noticeable shapes keeps the interaction easy. What’s best about this book? The text encourages interaction, offers praise, plays hide and seek, inspires counting, motivates decisions, and ultimately cheers picking up after yourself! Additionally, the child could pick all the yellow on the page, find simple directions like top/bottom, or search for the squares on the page. This simple book packs a powerful punch. We also love Play Outside with Me and Play with Me from this PlayDate Series.
This is one of the best board books I've ever read. Not only did every single page engage my two year old, every single page had a simple way for her to interact with the book on her level, from answering what her name is to playing hide and seek to find the dino stuffie. There are so many board books that don't consider what a toddler is able to do or understand, but this one did and did it really well.
Alex and her best friend Rex, a stuffed dinosaur, invite readers to play games with them. From building blocks, to pretend cooking, there are numerous games to choose from.
I found the book to be very engaging and depicts what an equal share playdate embodies. The illustrations are colorful and fun. My niece really enjoyed this book!
Readers get a chance to play and clean up with Alex and his dinosaur Rex. It’s like a playdate in a book. What a great way to pretend on a cold or snowy day when meeting up with friends isn’t possible.
The illustrations are bright and cheery and so fun to see.
What a fun book to read and I see there are others in the series.
