What can you do with extra paper plates and cups? Simple, step-by-step instructions and full-color photos help turn ordinary household items into DIY fun.
Not very Green unless your family is in the habit of throwing out extra supplies from parties. But if you are, or you're willing to spend a little money you can have some fun with some pretty easy crafts. Some of the projects are worthless, but I do like the idea of turning a plate into a box-shaped bowl or two plates into a box with a lid. And the cups that can be used to hold small gifts are clever. There is a list for further reading.

Personal critique/strengths/weaknesses: The layout of the book is very well done. The font is big and the background uses different solid colorful colors making it appealing to the target audience. The photographs provide a visual of what the finished product should look like, as well as some of the more difficult steps are illustrated through the photographs. The last page of the book also provides a list of additional resources that include similar books and an internet site. The book provides very creative ways to use everyday items.
Education: This book can be used during Earth Day to teach about recycling and reusing materials to make art.
