Supreme: To Sadie, with Love

Rate this book
I thought I knew depth but dwelled in a cursory home.
I thought I knew vulnerability, but it was maladjusted fear.
I thought I knew comfort, but it was more like complacency and routine.
I thought I knew romance until I met Supreme.

Wife and mother of two, Sadie Williams crosses paths with Paramour's most eligible bachelor Supreme Miller. Supreme enters her world and shakes things up, but Sadie has yet to discern if his presence is for better or for worse.

This book explores heavy topics of domestic violence and infidelity. It does not feature an overtly strong heroine. If this is not something of interest to you or if you find these topics triggering, it is strongly advised to consider some of my other works.

“What do you see in me that causes you to pour without restraint?”

Hell I want to know as well because this pretty much summed up who Supreme was as a man! Protector, provider, listening ear, Mr. Make it happen, Mr. It’s handled! I mean I loved Supreme DOWN and he is the only reason this book received the 3 stars that it did.

There were trigger warnings so please read those in advance! There was however one extremely important trigger warning that she failed to mention and that was stupidity!! Chyyyyy the way Sadie was on the little bit of nerves I had when I began this book was unreal! We were first introduced to Supreme in “Saint” and when I saw he had a book I just knew I was in for a treat! Unfortunately the math was not mathing when it came to who he was paired with from an MFC perspective.

Supreme is the older Miller son and has always been the levelheaded protective big brother! Ramsey did his big one guiding Supreme to become the man we read about in this book and I have zero complaints about him. If you could think of the most perfect MMC that would be Supreme! He wasn’t hoe’ing, he was successful, wanted to settle down and make an honest woman of somebody’s daughter, the BDE was big…. Just perfection!

Supreme and Sadie first crossed paths after her release from the hospital in the middle of a snowstorm. Coming to Sadie’s rescue after her car stalled out would be the first of many times where Supreme came to her aid. Sadie and Supreme have an obvious connection however her being married kinda puts a pin in any plans either of them had to start something new. Supreme knew she would eventually be his and played the supportive background role until the time was right!

I need to cut this review short because I could really go on and on about this book. I really feel like the author that wrote Supreme’s book is not the same person that wrote Saint’s. Like I fell in love with everything about Saint’s book and while I expect for each book and book character to carry their own and be different, I feel like the author did a disservice to the type of man that Supreme was by giving him such a broken woman to breathe life into. Sadie had soooooo much baggage and it bled into the lives of everyone around her. Supreme deserved a whole healed woman and while he eventually got that the journey wasn’t worth the reward if you ask me.

I also didn’t feel a connection between Supreme and Sadie romantically. If he wasn’t coming to her rescue in one way or another, they were fkn but there was no real courting, dating and getting to know each other. They weren’t conniving at all! I also struggled with how the story was written. So many events that took place were summarized or skimmed over and the necessary detail was lacking. The conversation with her mother at the end…. Pointless. Also why didn’t Trenton express his desire of not wanting kids from the very beginning instead of turning into the monster that he was after the fact?!

I really need to shut up now because like I said I can keep going with this one 😵‍💫 so to keep this review from being longer than it already is. Skip this one… “The End”

2.5 ⭐️⭐️
If I had read this book first, I wouldn’t have continued on with the series. I’m so glad I experienced Saint’s book first. I’m not sure what happened between the first book and this one but I was unable to reconcile the character and personality that I got from Supreme in the first book with the person he was in book two.

I’ve never suffered at the hands of domestic violence so I can’t even begin to speak to the situation or fully understand what a person may have endured or how they think or process the situation. With that being said, I couldn’t understand Sadie’s actions and thought process throughout this book. Despite growing up in a house where she saw her mother repeatedly abused, it appeared as if she didn’t take her situation seriously enough. It’s like she thought “this won’t happen to me, or my kids, or anyone that I love”, as it was happening to her, her child, and eventually her best friend. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish this one. I hope that Sincere’s book is more digestible for me.

Rae Anderson’s “Supreme: To Sadie With Love,” the second installment in the Miller family series, is a compelling and intense read that delves deep into themes of love, resilience, and survival. The story follows Supreme Miller, the eldest of the Miller clan, who is wealthy, kind, and fiercely determined to protect what he holds dear.

Supreme meets Sadie Williams during a violent snowstorm, a chance encounter that changes both their lives. Sadie, trapped in a marriage with a man who is mentally, emotionally, and physically abusive, finds herself in a dire situation. Supreme offers her and her children safety and shelter. What follows is a gripping tale of their rapid, passionate connection and Sadie’s determined journey to free herself from her abusive husband.

The novel is a powerful exploration of acceptance and strength. Anderson crafts a narrative that is both heart-wrenching and hopeful, portraying Sadie’s struggle and growth with sensitivity and depth. Sadie’s character is a beacon of resilience, showcasing her journey from a victim of abuse to a woman who takes control of her destiny and finds the love she deserves with Supreme.

The romance between Supreme and Sadie develops quickly but believably, their chemistry intense and their bond unbreakable. Anderson does not shy away from difficult topics; the story includes serious themes such as adultery, domestic abuse, and murder, making it a deep introspection into the lives of survivors.

Trigger Warning: This book contains scenes of domestic abuse, adultery, and murder, which may be distressing for some readers. The portrayal of Sadie’s abusive relationship is raw and intense, serving as a stark reminder of the horrors many endure in silence.

Recommended For: Readers who appreciate emotionally intense romances with strong themes of survival and empowerment, and those who can handle the heavy topics presented with sensitivity and depth.

Whew chile Sadie tap danced on my nerve…

Supreme, I really enjoyed as a MMC however his need to fix and protect was extremely suffocating, but he was exactly what Sadie needed.

This one was a bit wordy for me, still with the poetic flare that Rae seems to carry in her books, but this one felt like it was too much at times, and I get it Sadie needed ALOT of affirmative dialogue to showcase her growth but there is a such thing as too much and for me this one was too much.

I wanted more of the relationship development with Supreme and the kids on page, in my opinion the addition of that could have brought some light to this very dark/emotional story.

***INSIDER***
Trent only getting 10years felt like a slap in the face, and regardless of how everyone felt this was Sadie’s fault, bc that shit at the house was NOT NEEDED!

I am happy they both got their HEA, and kudos to the patience of a man like Supreme.

a journey

This book honestly took me through it emotionally. I hate Trent with a passion like he literally only held on to Sadie to try and control and stifle her light, thank God for that snow storm thank God supreme is a man that listens to his heart and mind because he really saw Sadie for the beautiful vessel she is and did everything to cultivate that. Love their journey to love I don’t wanna spoil the book but this is a good one, prepare your tissues and grab your pearls for clutching but Sadie and Supreme are worth the read🤎

I experienced Saint’s book first and was very hopeful for Supreme’s story but unfortunately I was a tad disappointed. I can’t fully put my finger on it but I felt like the romance lacked a bit here and maybe that was the author’s hope, to shed light on the impacts of an abusive relationship and the rebuilding that takes place after. If that’s the case, I think that should be stated in the beginning.

I just couldn’t connect with Supreme and Sadie. Maybe I’ll give Sincere’s story a try but not sure.

Sadie and Supreme

Enjoyable read. The hero supreme was patient and caring. He carried a Persona that said " I can upgrade you". The damsel was a married woman who was taking care of her family and business. When they 1st met It was an instantaneous attraction. In through the rest of the novel they navigate how to make their fantasies reality. I would definitely recommend this book.

This writing is so good! The characters are likable! No grammatical errors. Just all around good love story. I love Saint and Supreme so much. They were so good to their women. Rae you write so good! My only issue with this book is that her friend had to die and as much as I love Sadie I have to blame her for some of it. Other than that I loved it a lot!

Supreme and Sadie🥺

SPOILERS!

I enjoyed this read. It kept my attention throughout and the story flowed well. Sadie was going through it, holding it down on her own 99% of the time. Pre was so patient with her even when it pained him to be. I’m so glad Sadie loved him enough o want to be whole and better for him.

That husband of hers needed to be buried UNDER the jail.

Good

Where do I begin. Supreme was a good man and motivated Sadie even when he didn’t truly know her. Sadie is like a lot of women who suffer abuse. I’m glad she finally walked away I just hate Leslie got hurt in the process. Supreme knew what he wanted from the beginning.

Great book!

I loved how the author wrote this book in such a poetic format but I really hated how weak Sadie appeared after the first domestic incident. After that I just didn't understand her character and she irritated me. Overall a good read.

Saint’s Book Was Better

Sadie worked my nerves the whole book. She was stubborn about all the wrong stuff and she never listened. She was the reason for the tragedy. Supreme was a sweetheart however.

Wow! Love at first sight for Supreme! My god! He was the perfect Bae!! Sadie was so broken mentally by her horrible husband! However, Supreme came along and showed her what real love was! It took her a while, but she got thru her issues and love prevailed!! I truly enjoyed this read!

underwhelmed. not the worst. not the best. i do realize one of the author’s intents was to convey domestic abuse situations—- much respect. however, if u are looking for clever plotting, this is more traditional Black Romance Literature. i was not put- off but i prefer novels to literature.
