A SWEET GIRL

Nicola Hart grew up under the heels of her older brother and his sexy best friend, Cash Garrison. Years of ignoring her spark with Cash has transformed their friendship into a slow burning sizzle. One night with him could ruin everything. Or it could be more than she ever dreamed. They play. They flirt. But they haven't crossed the line because too much is at stake. Family. Friendship. And the deepest kind of love that she'd have to be crazy to walk away from.

HE CAN'T STAY AWAY FROM

She's his best friend's little sister. The definition of hands off. Cash has tried to ignore her for years. Those innocent eyes and her smile that screams kiss-me-if-you-dare... Instead, he's looked at every pretty little thing who's crossed his path, all to ignore the girl he seems destined to want. But when his hard partying ways get old and everyone at school is interested in Nicola, it's time to stake a claim. To make Nicola his girl, no matter the risks, and hold the hand of the one he really loves.

Sweet Girl is the novel length prequel to USA Today best-selling Garrison's Creed. Before Cash and Nicola can fall in love forever, they have to suffer through their first love.

Don't read this book without a box of tissues, it ends so heartbreaking. Cash, Roman and Nicola have been friends throughout their life. Roman is very protect of his baby sister and so is Cash. But Cash is protective for a different reason he has loved her secretly for years . They are all attending the same college , the guys graduate this year , Nic has two years to go. Cash finally tells Nic how he feels , she feels the same. Then she walks into a mob killing at her job off campus and ends up in the hands of the FBI . I don't want to give away this amazing but heartbreaking ending . However she is taken away from her family and the men who love her. Leaving several families and friends forever broken.

Let me sum this up in one word...
MEMORABLE

Yup... I cried. I knew what was going to happen and I fucking cried anyway. I need to go and reread Garrisons Creed, which I also gave 5 starts to! Sweet Girl is the prequel to Garrisons Creed and I'm am SO happy I got to read Cash and Nicola's back story. It just makes me fall even more in love with them.

This is not the typical Cristin Harber military romantic suspense we are used to with our Titan boys. This is a softer and sweeter new adult straight romance with a little bit of action. Sweet Girl turned out to be even better than I could have hoped for. I loved everything about this and it clicked on every level for me. It was swoon worthy and gut wrenching. I'm a fan of the best friends turned lovers trope and for me that is the most wonderful and believable romance out there. It's rare and when you have that, you have magic. Cristin Harber, has that magic at her finger tips.

description

"I need you, sweet girl. Always have."

Cash and Nicola's story is powerful and just sitting here typing I want to cry for them all over again. Cash is the long time family friend and over protective alpha who is in Nic's friend zone. Nicola is the little sister to Cash's best friend Roman. She is the sweet but strong geek that doesn't have a clue about Cash's feelings.

description

"Just like she didn't have to remember to breath, loving him was a part of living."

If you've not read this series yet, I implore you to stop what you are currently reading and give the Titan series a try. Hot military alphas, suspense, panty wetting sex scenes, heroins that you love to read about and action packed story that will keep you coming back for more.

"One day, we get to happily ever after."

I only have one thing left to say and that is to Cristin Harber. Holy heart butterflies... that was beautiful and sexy and I love it when I can feel the characters in my heart.
Thank you!

A lovely sweet heartbreaking story!

I don't usually like NA stories and try to a avoid them but could not in this case as it tells us the story of Cash & Nicola's early life and how they fell in love. In this they are still quite young and are at university but they have known each other most of their lives as Cash is her brother's best friend. Having witnessed a terrible mob murder Nicola is persuaded by the FBI that it would be safer for her family and friends if she was to go into witness protection, for their safety it would be better if they believed that she had been in a terrible car accident which resulted in the car bursting into flames killing her instantly. Although they had already declared their love for each other and were going to 'out' their relationship to her brother and parents Nicola was not aware that Cash had every intention of asking her to marry him and had already purchased an engagement ring and requested a meeting with her father to ask permission to marry her.

Even knowing the outcome of this story and knowing (as have already read their main story) that they were going to meet up again ten years in the future and rekindle their relationship, the ending still bought tears to my eyes and was gut wrenching reading the section where Nicola was watching her funeral from a distance and seeing just how devastated Cash was because he had lost his Sweet Girl.

Even though this is technically a prequel this was designed to be read after reading 'Garrison's Creed' as it will have much more of an impact.

I want to give this novella more than 5 stars!!!! Order this book now!

Nicola Hart, Nic for short; has two best friends, her brother Roman and his best friend Cash Garrison. They have grown up together and Nic has loved Cash for as long as she can remember. She never thought he saw her as more than a little sister until he told her it was her choice if they walked across that line.

Sweet Girl is a prequel to Garrison’s Creed. The plot is easy to follow and gives us the backstory as to how Nic and Cash fell in love. Nic and Cash have an easy going relationship that only people who have known each other for a lifetime can achieve. Cash is more romantic than I had ever thought and their first “date” just made me say “AWWW”. It is sweet, hot and heartbreaking all in one. The last few scenes tore at my heart and I am so happy I know what happens next. Titan fans who have read Nic and Cash’s story will relish the short look we have into their romantic start. I suggest new Titan fans read this novella before the full length book. I myself started a reread of the full length book after I finished the novella. I loved Cash and Nic before but right now I will say I just adore them; they are firmly in my list of favorite romantic couples.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review; however I also have it pre-ordered on my Kindle.

Sweet Girl by Cristin Harber

Warning: if you haven't read the Titan series, stop here. You need to read the series in order to fully appreciate this book.

Cash and Nicola have their HEA later in this series. This book is the prequel to their story. It starts when they are both in college. They've been raised together with their families being close. Cash is Nicola's brother's best friend and in a way Nicola's best friend too. Nicola has been in love with Cash most of her life but between an overly protective brother and Cash's manwhoring, she's never felt like she was what he needed. At college, he has quite the reputation and apparently earned it. Still Nicola knows what she feels for him is love. She dates but never seriously, she's waiting for Cash to see her as something other than Roman's sister.

Cash has always wanted what he thought he couldn't have, Nicola. Like all stupid boys, he has glutted himself on other women. Nicola holds his heart and when the time was right, he made his move. I'll admit, his moves are swoon worthy. He wants the world to know his intentions bust respects Nicola's wishes to keep their relationship on the down low until the time is right.

This was an emotional powerhouse of a book. Honestly, Cash and Nicola's book wasn't even my favorite in the Titan series but this book was fantastic. It was even classified as New Adult, a genre I pretty much loathe and I still loved it. I adored the characters, the pacing of the story and the preciousness of first love. I love Cristin Harber's books but I think she's really hit her stride with this one. If you haven't started this series, there is something seriously wrong with you. Get hooked!

I kind of stepped into the middle of a series by mistake. This is book 1.5 to provide background for book 2. Maybe if I had read book 1, I might have had some invested interest in the characters and may have been charmed to learn their back story.

As a stand alone, I just wasn't connecting with the story. The setting of college life, frat parties, the trope of having a crush on your big brother's best friend, was all just ok. I didn't hate it but I didn't really enjoy it either.

This is probably a case of it just wasn't a good fit for me but could be for others. I was left with a desire for something a little more mature, a little less starry-eyed.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to try book 1.

Change in plans for the day when I got this book. Anyone who knows me and has read my reviews knows I love, love, love Ms. Harber's Titan boys. This book was awesome. It was nice to get the back story to Cash and Nicola. It had me in tears. Now I think I need to go back and reread all of this series. How much longer till her brother's book? (And it better be with Beth.) Then in the series list at the end...Parker gets a HEA.

Anyone watch So You Think You Can Dance?  Ms. Harber reminds of me one of the best kinds of competitors on SYTYCD and I'll tell you why.

So, let's say that a kick ass crumper or ballroom dancer comes the audition and EVERYONE loves that person.  They have a great personality and are truly talented in the genre of dance.  The question is, can this person do more than crump / ballroom dance?  Over the years, many one trick ponies have made appearances and I always get excited, hoping that they can do more. Many times, the judges will send those dancers to choreography to see if they can really dance.  It's truly wonderful thing when you see a dancer that is talented in all of the genres.  (And it's kind of sad when they can't follow choreography or just cannot dance in any other genre well)

Cristin Harber is no one trick pony.  Her romantic suspense series, Titan, is one of my very favorites in general and I believe she is one of the best writers in the genre.  Now she has given us the contemporary romance/NA backstory/prequel of Cash and Nicola's story from Garrison's Creed.  I absolutely adored Cash and Nicola in Garrison's Creed and I love them EVEN MORE after reading Sweet Girl.  The great thing about this book was that I immediately wanted to read Garrison's Creed again.  And I did.  After reading about Cash and Nicola in Sweet Girl, their relationship made that much more sense to me in GC.  Plus, finding out how Nicola's situation unfolded and knowing why Nicola made the decisions she did is enlightening.

Ms. Harber can easily switch gears between romantic suspense and contemporary romance because fundamentally, she an incredible writer.  She always includes little details in scenes that enhance the feeling of the scene for me.  It's things like describing the sound a wine bottle makes scraping across the concrete and small little things that always bring me right into the moment with them.
They stood there, connected, with his hand wrapped around her bicep.  Not talking.  Not looking.  The occasional jock or sorority girl walked by.  Said hey.  Unconsciously, his thumb smoothed over her skin, making his eyelids sink shut.  The quietest gasp fell form her lips.  He heard it, savored it, opened his eyes to meet her brown ones.  They were stuck in a moment that wouldn't quit.

In Sweet Girl, Ms. Harber gives us Cash, Roman and Nicola in college.  Roman and Cash have been uber protective of Nicola for most of her life and the more than friends feelings that Cash and  Nicola cannot be ignored any longer.  There is a lot of sneaking around, thanks to Roman being...well...Roman.  Roman is such the over protective big brother and he does not make Nic's dating life easy at all.  I loved all the moments between Cash and Nicola when they finally give in to the deep feelings and passion that they feel for each other.  And who can forget Cash calling Nic..."sweet girl"?  It's all very sigh worthy.

Sweet Girl is a contemporary romance with a touch of NA (Only due to the characters' ages) it did not feel like it in the ways that have a tendency to annoy me.   I just loved this book and it enriched my reading experience of Garrison's Creed.  This is one of the best books I've read in recent memory, it really stuck with me for quite a while.

If you have somehow managed to miss the Titan series (WHY?? HOW???) you need to rectify that ASAP.

P.S.  I CANNOT WAIT FOR ROMAN.

Sweet Girl is an awesome, emotional prequel to one of the most romantic couples I’ve ever read. I consider myself very lucky to get my hands on an early draft of this (thank you, Cristin Harber)!

When I finished, I debated if it’s better to read this one first, or Garrison’s Creed, which was published in 2013. This novella is the prequel from ten years prior, when the main characters are in college. I decided that it honestly doesn’t matter which one you read first – they both capture the sweet, almost magical, forever-kind-of-love of this couple. If you read Garrison’s Creed first, like I did, be prepared to fall in love with Cash and Nicola all over again. And if you read Sweet Girl first, make sure you have a copy of Garrison’s Creed at the ready, because you are NOT going to want their story to be over (and it isn’t)!

I have read all of the Titan books, and for me, Cash and Nicola’s love story is the most powerful, because of their history. In Sweet Girl, you will see how their feelings toward each other reach a turning point and unfold in new ways. You’ll see how those emotions come out, sometimes funny, sometimes with college-age awkwardness, and sometimes in scorching hot passion. Cash and Nicola must decide if they can risk a lifelong friendship by taking the chance on a once-in-a-lifetime love. And even though they know, clear as day, what they truly want, the events immediately following their realization explode in a chain of circumstances from which there is no going back and no do-overs.

In Sweet Girl, Cristin Harber does a great job of capturing a soul-melding love that’s deep enough to carry on, no matter what, even when the characters think they can’t.

5 shiny, “Cash-machine” stars! A must-read!!!

RUN, don't just walk away from this book! I read the premise of this book and thought it was your typical romance fare. For two-thirds of the book, it's a typical romance with its ups and downs. Then it takes some REALLY random turns and it becomes an ENTIRELY different book. I get that it's a prequel to Garrison's Creed, but saying that to me means nothing if I haven't read Garrison's Creed. Which I haven't. Nor did I read the description of Creed since THAT was not what I was reading.

There were plenty of issues with this book, including how perfect Cash was. He was always the strongest, smartest, quickest etc but the relationship bits were good and I was interested in the story. Then, and this is why is say RUN from this book, everything is turned on its head and the book just stops. It doesn't end, it just stops and they expect you to read the next book. Ok well, lets see what the next book is about then. Oh its a spy thriller type of thing that is not remotely believable from the little bit I read in the first chapter and the description. The next book takes place 10 years later and I'm just not buying it. I don't want to read a spy book with some romance, I wanted to read a romance novel with a proper ending. This book really was better than the one star review, but I CAN NOT and WILL NOT give points for that crap cliffhanger ending. It was out of left field, completely unnecessary and not worth the effort to find out what actually happens to these characters I met in Sweet Girl. I'm just not a fan of stunts and this seems like a stunt with this ending, hoping you'll pay for the next book. Booooo!!!!! And who's to say we find out the ending to these characters in that book? Will it too end in a cliffhanger? Cause I don't know and I'm not willing to find out.

I haven't read this author before but I love her writing and I'm in.

This book goes back ten years to understand the characters before Garrison's Creed. We meet Cash Garrison as a senior in college, his best friend Roman and Roman's sister, Nic. These three have been friends forever.

Roman is very protective of his little sister and though Cash loves her, he hasn't acted on it. Nic has loved Cash for years. When the football team starts to notice just how gorgeous Nic is, Cash makes his move. But they are both afraid what Roman's reaction will be. So they put off telling him and keep their relationship a secret.

At 200 pages, this prequel is a full story.

I love all three of these characters and really enjoyed how Cash turns shy Nic into his girl. Some notice, after all Cash isn't playing his normal guy whore roll. It's cute watching Cash try to stay off the market and deal with his many admirers. Enjoyed Nic getting to kiss the boy she's loved forever. Very yummy and sweet cause this boy has fallen for her hard.

Of course, this is the prequel to their story so there is a abrupt and sad ending. It just had me wanting Garrison's Creed NOW.

This book can be read without the other books in the series but you're gonna want Garrison's Creed when you're done.

So what happened when Nicola Garrison was Nicola Hart and Cash Garrison was just a younger version of his Stetson wearing sexy self? Sweet Girl is that story and as my favourite couple in Cristin Harber's Titan series I was excited to read this (and once again pretend I am Nicola, her being my namesake).

Rewind a few years and our couple are at college. The attraction is there and there is a line just begging to be crossed. We saw glimpses of their past in Garrison's Creed, this elaborates hugely and is a superb novella that has left me itching to re-read GC and pick up on all the little things that will no doubt mean that bit more.

If you loved Cash & Nic this is a must-read and if you haven't experienced them, then I seriously recommend you do so and then read the Titan Series; it's absolutely one of my favourite series' out there.

Absolutely LOVED this book. I couldn't put it down. I was one of the lucky few who got to read this before it's published and I must say that Cristin Harber did an amazing job writing this prequel.

We all know the battle Cash and Nicola's love went through in Garrison's Creed. Sweet Girl is a New Adult romance and takes place ten years prior to Garrison's Creed. Cash and Nicola are in college and hiding their feeling towards each other from themselves and from everyone else.

Their love becomes a battle and when things go wrong you are going to want to pick up Garrison's Creed to read the rest of their love story. Even though I read Garrison's Creed and knew what would happen I still wanted to reread it again after finishing Sweet Girl. And I did.

And...Even though I read their HEA book first I was still a little curious on how everything fell apart for a couple that had a love so strong. I couldn't wait to pick up Sweet Girl and when I did I laughed, screamed at my book and cried. Cristin Harber did an amazing job!!!

A thousand stars to you Cristin Harber!!! And thank you for letting me be one of the first to read it.

I absolutely adored this little novella and prequel to Nicola and Cash's story. In fact after I finished I had to go back and re-read their book.

This is such a great series and one of my fave in this genre. I loved the back story of how these 2 got together in college after being life long friends and it broke my heart how 10 years had to pass before they could be together again.

If you have not read this series yet, I highly recommend it!!!

Nicola and Cash have been friends all their life. They've also been secretly in love with each other for sometime but were reluctant to alter the dynamics of their relationship and hurt Nicola's brother and Cash's best friend, Roman.
But the time has come to either move forward seperately or act on their feelings.
Guess which way they choose to go...
This short story was written as a prequel to the next book in the series, to give the backstory of Nicola and Cash's relatioship but knowing the end took much of the mystery off the plot and the rest was just obvious from the start. Not memorable enough but still enjoyable while it lasted.

He tried to stay away from her, but when a lot of guys tries to get her attention, he knew it was time for him to stake his claim on the girl who have captured his heart for a long time. Despite the risk of him ruining his friendship with her brother, he jumped right in…

Nicola Hart
She knew Cash since they were kids, and tried to ignore the attraction that has been building within her for years. Cash was a heartbreaker, and she couldn’t afford to get her heart broken by a person who was too special to lose. But when their friendship took a 180 all of a sudden, and when the line is about to be crossed, things to be considered had put her in doubt: her family, the friendship, and the love that she had been dreaming for since she was younger. So, like Cash, she jumped right in. But first, they needed to keep it to themselves.

They were good together. I fell so much in love with their banters, their teasing. They were a good couple. They live in their own bubble, they knew what they were to each other. They were happy, if only they have told her brother, their friends or their parents about it – it would have been perfect. Cash was about to do something that would redefine their relationship, but before he had the chance to do so, he lost Nicola.

Major OUCH.

This is why I needed to read Garrison’s Creed! I needed to know if they’d see each other again. I needed to know if they’d get their HEA. They were a love so young, so real and yet so strong tested heavily by fate. Would distance, longing and time survive it?

This is my first read on Cristin Harber, and I must say, she got herself a new fan! It was short, it was sweet, it was enough for me to get hooked and buy the whole series after reading this one!

Nicola is starting a another year of college with her brother Roman and his best friend Cash. Things would be better if Roman and Cash weren't so protective of her. Every time there's an interest from a guy, the boys step in to "save her". But Nicola has her ways around it. And then there's Cash. Sweet, H.O.T. Cash. She can't stop looking his way when he's around.

Cash has been in love with his best frien's sister for a long time. It's a bout she knew how he felt. He's been dropping hints and getting her alone quite a bit lately but she doesn't seem to get it. Or maybe she's denying it. He'll just kiss her...

And they haven't stopped kissing. Until one day when Nicola is called back in to work and she sees something she shouldn't. Now she's on the run for her life.

I loved this book! Seriously. I don't give out 5 stars very often. It can be read separately from Westin's Chase, Titan Series book 1. The relationship between Nicola and Cash was very frustrating at first. I wanted to knock them both up side the head so they could see what was right in front of them. Took some time, but they got there. The characters were great. I loved Brandy. Fierce, protective, sassy and sweet all rolled into one. Roman, the brother I could beat lovingly with a bat! LOL! Read the book and you'll see what I mean!

And the ending??? Ugh...Seriously...who does that to their readers? LOL! An unexpected, but fantastic ending that brings tears to your eyes and your heart wanting more Cash and Nicola. Then you get a taste of the next book and if you're like me, you downloaded the next book immediately to find out what happens.

Five swoony, spicy, and gut wrenching stars!!

From guns and studs to young love at it’s best, Sweet Girl is everything I love about new adult with an added twist of romantic suspense.

We meet Cash and Nicola in Garrison’s Creed, book two of the Titan series, and although we get their HEA we don’t get the story of where it all began. Sweet Girl is that story.

Nicola Hart grew up the third wheel to best buds Roman and Cash, but somewhere along the line he became more than her big brother’s best friend. Attraction blossomed, but she never knew if the feelings were mutual. Would he ever see her as more than a little “Squirt”?

Cash has always loved Nicola, but in the blink of an eye she grew from kid to woman. Now she was on his radar in a big way and no amount of one-night stands and meaningless affairs could squash his desire to be with her.

When the pull becomes too much, Cash and Nicola ignite in a hot and equally tender romance that will have your heart melting and your blood racing. We know how it ends, but how do we get there?

Nicola’s college internship turns out to be more than it seems. When she’s eye-witness to something that could get her killed, or even worse, her family and Cash, she’s forced to make the toughest decision of her life.

Sweet Girl is a fantastic prequel to Garrison’s Creed, and the best part is it doesn’t matter which one you read first. They both can stand alone. I hope to see more of this unique new adult/romantic suspense blend from Harber.

Sweet Girl is proof positive that there isn’t anything this author can’t write.

WOW, Sweet Girl is a must read! Nothing I say in this review will do justice to this book. Amazing doesn't come close. Fantastic is an understatement. Passionate is inadequate. I can only say that I hope you give this book a chance and that you love it as much as I do.

I never thought I'd read a new adult book with no HEA and like it, but I just did. Considering I don't enjoy new adult books and that I refuse to read anything without a HEA it's amazing how much I LOVED this book. The reason I decided to give this book a try was because I had already read Winters Heat, the first book in the Titan series, and I wanted to read Garrison's Creed next. Since I read the synopsis of Garrison's Creed ahead of time I knew that there would eventually be a HEA for Nicola and Cash, which for me is important. I never expected to be blown away by Sweet Girl, the prequel to Garrison's Creed, but I was. After finishing the book I cried myself to sleep. That's a first for me. Writing this review, I want to cry again.

I am new Cristin Harber's writing and I am hooked. She is an impressive author with an astounding talent for drawing you in and making you feel. After reading Winters Heat and Sweet Girl, I am now a loyal fan and will read anything with her name on it. Well, except for paranormal that is, I can't read that for anyone. lol

Note: Sweet Girl is a contemporary romance about young love and introduces you to Nicola and Cash. It does not have the action-packed suspense that Winters Heat had, it's not meant to. Sweet Girl is the prequel to Garrison's Creed, the second book in the Titan series. Garrison's Creed is where the action-packed suspense is.

Well, its no secret that I'm a fan of the Titan series. Having read every book in the series, there was no way I was going to miss this one.

If you're like me and have read the rest of the series, you know where Cash and Nicola are now, and you know the basics of their past. Sweet Girl takes you into that past to give you the missing pieces of the puzzle.

This is not typical Titan. There are no high strung military heroics. What there is though, is a sweet, sexy love story laced with some suspense and a tragic ending.

Even though, this is 1.5 in the series and the prequel to Garrison's Creed, I don't think they should be read that way. I think to get the full effect of Cash and Nicola's story, you need to read Garrison's Creed first, then back track to Sweet Girl.

Cristin Harber did a phenomenal job with this. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I loved it. It doesn't hurt that Cash is my favorite. I hate him... and I love him. Cash and Nicola's story through both books hurts my heart and then heals it right back. This is definitely one that is going to rip your chest open and stomp all over your heart.

I can't wait for more from this series. It has quickly become one of my favorites!

Cash and Nicole are the couple that friends are not supposed to be. Sister to his friend is off limits. The heart does not care about that. Follow the flames developing. The paths they take will tear at you. No spoilers from me. A must read. Then follow the series with Garrison's Creed.

Bitter Sweet

Nicola and Cash grew up together along with Nicolas brother Ronan the boys were her protectors and no guy got a look in. The boys themselves are the school hotties evety girl wants.

Nicola and cash become more than friends confessing the love they have always had for each other but they have to hide it from overprotective brother Ronan who thinks no guy is good enough for his sister.

It's a sweet coming of age high school friends to lovers read.

Would of preferred it written in povs instead of third person I feel that draws you in more and makes the reader feel more involved in the plot.

Its a cliff hanger and teary ending and looking at the next book it continues and leads you onto a more military/spy type book were both characters are older. I feel thats a Big contrast from high school read to that seeing I chose this book wanting a high school read and to know how it pans out I now have to read an action romance? .

I was so excited to read this book! I absolutely loved Garrison’s Creed and Nicola and Cash are my favorite Titan couple. I couldn’t wait to read about how their love began. I’m happy to say that Sweet Girl did not disappoint! It was both sweet AND sexy and I fell in love with Nicola and Cash even more than before. They started off as best friends along with Nicola’s brother, Roman, and inevitably Nicola and Cash gave in to the combustible chemistry between them. Even back then Cash was a sexy, romantic, and sweet cowboy. I adore him. Be forewarned though, this one does not end happily. It will rip your heart out, BUT don’t despair because Garrison’s Creed picks up where Sweet Girl leaves off and Nicola and Cash get the happy ending they deserve. I love this series and highly recommend this book and the rest of the series.

Received an ARC

I loved Cash and Nic in Garrison's Creed, and I THOUGHT that I would kind of know what I was going into with Sweet Girl...boy was I wrong. Cristin melted me into one huge pile of goo. You will sigh you will swoon and Cash will knock you off your feet. That isn't all though, even though you know what's coming after reading Garrison's Creed nothing can prepare you for the emotions that she pulls out of you. I was a sobbing mess at 2 in the morning, and kinda dislike her for ripping me apart the way that she did. You feel every feeling and emotion right along with Cash and Nic. I think this is the best prequel I've ever read and the sweetest, but this is also Cristin Harber we're talking about here...it's got the steam to it too, and boy does it get HOT. So break out the fan, tissues, and bottle of wine!!

Nicole has been in love with her brother's best friend Cash since she was a little girl. Now they are both in college and Cash is noticing his best friend's little sister. They decide to begin a relationship in secret because they are nervous of how Roman will react.

The story began with juvenile drama. I was constantly checking to see how much time I had left in this short story. Then the plot took a hard left turn on wtf avenue. Listen, I enjoy action and mystery, like a lot. However, there was no way to prepare for this abrupt shift in the storyline. It felt out of place.

I enjoyed book 1 and probably should have read book 2, then circled back to book 1.5 because I am sort of annoyed with Cash and Nicole.

DNFing @ 25% due to substantial slut shaming, almost entirely from the titular (not so) "Sweet Girl". I need to start deleting all university/college based books because the characters irritate the shit out of me. GROW UP ALREADY.
