Lee's Maxims is an eclectic collection of quotes and anecdotes from the life of America's greatest Christian Warrior - especially chosen for our Nation's young "gentlemen."
My dad gave me this book when I was 5 or 6, around the time I learned how to read. I've read it through three or so times (not mentioning when I'd skim something for reference), once as a little kid, once in college, and once just recently. He is a fount of practical wisdom, and his incredibly difficult life only makes his Christian wisdom all the more cherished.
Great book. Real easy to read. Read it in about 2-2 and a half hours. This should be on some sorry if required reading list in school. I especially enjoyed the part about Lee's beliefs on the importance of reading and enlightening the mind. Excellent book.
A very worthwhile read for male or female, young or old, but especially for developing moral character and integrity during the preteen and teen years.
127 pages, with maxims categorized by subject for easy reference.
Well-researced and well-written, the book provides a window into the character of Robert E. Lee and a view of how that character was maintained, with the intent that the maxims and other tips be used for the reader's own character development.
