For ten years, Sydney and her husband, Craig, tried to have a baby without success. Sydney is devastated when Craig tells her he’s met someone else. Desperate to escape, she books a flight to the Bocas del Toro Islands in Panama. She hopes the remote location will help her cope with being abandoned and her lost dream of becoming a mother. Her spontaneous decision brings about a surprising change in the course of her life.
Sabrina Devonshire, an avid swimmer most of her life, can usually be found near or immersed in a body of water. If she's not seeking an endorphin rush in a pool, lake or ocean, she's usually writing or practicing yoga.
She received a John Woods Scholarship and an Arizona Commission of the Arts Professional Development Grant toward her participation in a 2007 Prague Summer Program writing workshop. She also studied writing in Arizona and northern California and has a M.S. degree from the University of Arizona.
Sabrina loves traveling to off-the-beaten-path places where outdoor adventure awaits. She especially enjoyed Peru, Belize, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Greece. Sabrina lives in southern Arizona with her husband. They are planning to live as expats somewhere south of the border and fun in the near future!
Sabrina Devonshire, Never Let You Go, was about a nice sweet romance between two people who had been hurt and disillusioned in the past and were ripe for a relationship. The timely meeting that came about between Sydney and Lucas, and the even more incredible event in which Sydney got the one thing she wanted more than anything, a son, and how she was able to care for him, makes this story so incredible that you have to read it for yourself to discover the power of a woman’s love.
The synopsis is the book really intrigued me because for some reason I'm twisted and I like books about cheating husbands and women that get their revenge by living happily ever after without the Asshole cheating husband. Well I was saying WTF about 15 minutes into this book. Basically this is what happened.
Sydney's husband cheats on her because she can't get pregnant, then dumps her. She a packs bag and runs to airport and books a flight to Panama. She meets a young woman with a baby on the plan who has also left her husband. Plane crashes and woman leaves her baby with Sydney before she dies. A HOT guy in a boat rescues Sydney and the baby and takes her to the resort he owns but don't let me forget to mention that there's an IMMEDIATE attraction between the two.
(Now here's the part were I had my WTF moment). Sydney, started lactating after being around baby for a few hours and gets breast feeding lessons from the HOT guy, Lucas.
WTF, REALLY? Where the heck did that come from? Way to ruin a book.
So back to the HOT guy. Lucas is falling in love with Sydney (who he's only know for a few short hours), then finds out that she has lied to him. The media show up, then the father of the baby shows up, and tries to shoot Lucas, But Sydney is shot instead, and somehow the father the baby dies, but the uncle wants him, so Sidney pays off the uncle, and then the book abruptly ends.
This book and such potential and was a HUGE disappointment. How this book is has a rating of above 4 stars is beyond me.

I was first drawn to this novel by the beautiful cover and the title, and I’m glad I read it.
I loved the vivid descriptions, the characters, and above all, the amazing storyline. I read the entire book in one sitting, and I found myself crying, laughing, and crying again, with Sydney, Lucas and little Kevin.
When Sydney's husband, Craig, casts her away as if she were little more than yesterday's trash, she realises that their relationship truly was a matter of give and take, as in she had done all the giving, while he only took. Her decision to board the first flight available, however, might not have been the best decision, when fate steps in to turn her life upside down in a series of events that will leave you gasping. As Sydney learns to realise her own worth, she is torn by her decisions, and the consequences they will have on her future.
I won't give away plot spoilers to Never Let You Go. You will just have to read it for yourself, to appreciate what an emotionally heart-warming story it really is. As I have come to expect from Sabrina Devonshire, she doesn't disappoint in her abilities to create vivid scenery, suspense aplenty, and a sensual connection between her characters that will leave you not only reaching for the Kleenex, but with a breathlessly, satisfied smile on your face, as well. Don't miss this one, it is my favourite of her works so far, and I can't wait to see what else she has in store in the near future!
"Never Let You Go" by Sabrina Devonshire is a beautiful romantic adventure story set in the idyllic Carribbean. It follows heart broken Sydney as she survives a plane crash on her way to Panama and lets us watch her building a new life for herself. Sydney fulfills a dying woman's last wish and takes care of said woman's baby. Sydney is still trying to come to terms with the end of her marriage. The sad central issues are explored with warmth and grace without ever becoming depressing. Sydney is a great character, determined and strong, and supported by her attractive hunk of a saviour who provides a great romantic interest. The story covers a lot of ground in realtively short time, from sadness and grief to more joyful experiences. Devonshire manages to give her central charactes and story enough space and depth. The book is a wonderful tale of survival and hope, well written and all loose ends are perfectly tied up at the end. If you love romantic stories with some depth then this is for you.
This is a loving story, albeit a little far-fetched. The beginning is action-packed and heartwarming simultaneously. The two main characters are made for each other and compliment each others weaknesses and strengths. If you are looking for a quick read that packs a lot of punch, check out Never Let You Go by Sabrina Devonshire.
Author Sabrina Devonshire surprises us with her latest novel. Although there are certainly the elements you would expect in the Romance genre, what this book is really about is love. The main character, Sydney, has wanted and tried to conceive a child for many years. She also deeply desires a loving marriage. She has neither.
Devonshire takes us on a journey to an exotic island, exactly where we'd like to be during this cold winter! How Sydney gets to this tropical paradise and into the arms of love has a mystical feeling of inevitability. What the author has done very well here is to make us like Sydney so much that we are rooting for her to find her heart's desire, even if she asks us to suspend belief a bit in the process. We don't really care, we just want Sydney to win!
I won't give any spoilers here, but Devonshire makes sure the reader is not disappointed. Written from a distinctly female point of view, this book is overflowing with love. It is a fast read and anyone who wants to escape to a tropical island for a romantic adventure should enjoy this very sweet and charming novel.
I loved the blurb of this story but once I started reading it was completely unbelievable. I kept reading in hopes that the book would turn around but unfortunately it didn't. Sorry but I really tried to like this book but I just couldn't.
I received this book from the author for my honest opinion.
I find Sabrina Devonshire a very good storyteller. This book was no exception.
I think my only complaint would be when she was rescued from the sea by a man. O k he was obviously going to feature quite a bit, but she's in the sea with a babe in arms and all she thinks is he's sexy and hot! I'd be thinking, get me out of here, then the steamy thoughts could grow.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVED this book, but for me that bit was...... The rest of the book was fabulous and I enjoyed everything else about it.
That is my honest thoughts with no upset intended.
This is a story of love and loss, finding love, and about a growing need of a Mother bonding with her son. A son that was given to her in her care. I found this story very moving and will stay with me for quite some time.

This was a great short read. The love story was lovely and the multiple plot twists really kept me turning the pages. One thing I really liked about this story was that the plot twists could have been ripped out of today's headlines.
The author, Sabrina Devonshire managed to weave a believable love story around multiple tragedies and tied these plot twists up with a tidy bow by the end of this book.
It was such an easy and interesting read that I finished it in one night. Highly recommended.
This was an ok read for me. There were a couple of things that made it a little hard to believe, and i just never got that invested in the story or the people. Probably a won't read again book but at least it was free.

Sydney clamped her eyes shut and braced for the sudden end to the consciousness she’d known as life. Oh, please, God, don’t let it all end like this. We just need one more chance. The roar of metal striking the wall of water drowned out the shrieks of terror. Why can’t I scream was her last thought before her head struck the seat in front of her.
Then the book sadly went down, as the final scene felt to me as if Ms. Devonshire, wanted to finish the book so she tried to fit in everything.
I enjoyed this short read, and the novel was very well written. The novels plot was definitely unique, but so much of this story seemed so far-fetched that I had a hard time believing that most of this story could happen.
