Olivia Masters grew up familiar with all of them. The daughter of the President of the Nordic Lords Motorcycle Club, Olivia always knew she wanted nothing to do with any of it. Her plans were made to leave the town she grew up in as soon as she and her boyfriend, Daemon Knight, turned eighteen.
But then Olivia was shot. Her mother killed in front of her. Fleeing became her reality. Forced to return to her hometown of Jasper Bay five years later, events beyond Olivia’s control put her directly back into the life she swore she’d never return to.
Her dad wants her back in the family. Daemon wants her in his bed. But just as Olivia begins to accept her destiny, history finds a way to repeat itself.
This time, will Olivia be strong enough to fight for the family she once turned her back on? Or will she once again flee from the only life that has ever felt like home?

I didn’t know what to expect when I first picked up this book. The last few MC books I have read had been such a disappointment to me and I was gearing myself towards another DNF book. Thank goodness I was mistaken in that assumption. I liked these characters and found myself really gunning for Daemon in his quest to win Olivia back.
At first I was on the fence with Olivia’s character and her relationship of using another guy just to cure her loneliness – I felt she was shallow and instantly kept flip flopping back to hating her and then dealing with her. I think it was around the time that she made the decision to finally grow up and make some responsible decisions that I started to come around. When tragedy confronts her, this is the point where I really feel for this character and she begins to develop in my mind.
This is about the same time I start to really like Daemon and his love for Olivia really shines through. I love how he stands up for her and puts her desires before his own.
So in a wrap….I did enjoy this MC by Ms. Lynn and can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
Motorcycle Clubs, are they a world onto themselves? Are they above the laws that rule the rest of us or, like so many groups who deal with illegal businesses, are the codes of honor that bind them to be both admired and reviled? I’ll be the first to say, there are those bad boys whose alpha pheromones just ooze from their pores and they are hot, sexy and a fantasy for those who like a knuckle dragging caveman.
Point of Return by Stacey Lynn has it all, conflict, anti-heroes galore, women who don’t mind being the sex toys of the burly bikers and let’s not forget the turf wars, the drugs, the murders and the undying loyalty to the brothers. Which puts people like Olivia, daughter of the club president into the category of second place and the night her mother was murdered and she was shot, she knew she could not handle, so she ran, far away. Now she is back, in trouble and avoiding the club is impossible, especially when the boy who stole her heart is now a man, whose innocence was lost the day he became an NC member.
Told from the point of view of both Olivia and Daemon, only through Daemon’s most inner thoughts do we see a man I love, a man who sees right and wrong through different eyes and most definitely an anti-hero. We get see Olivia’s evolution from a woman striving to be strong and independent to one falling back into the unique world of bikers as she and Daemon make mistake after mistake failing to communicate what they feel except through sex. Their chemistry is real, but their lifestyle is not one I could reconcile with.
Definitely filled with intrigue, feuds, wars, death and all the sex you could want, I just couldn’t quite let go of reality enough to say, wow, that was HOT! Stacey Lynn is a powerful writer, she is NOT afraid to lay it all out there and say, here it is, in all of its creative glory. I admire that, and I did like so many elements of the plot, some of the characters are fantastic, but it’s hard to love a group that places so little value on life or considers another their property.

So....plot. One MC has a hate on for the H's MC and somehow the cops are playing both sides. But then it's really the Italian Mob. Except then it's not. Then it's a villainous betrayal.
The cast: It's basically 3 girls and 3 guys that grow up in the MC life and then shit gets ugly and they're all separated thinking the worst about each other. Now they're all dribbling back into each other's lives and even more really bad shit has happened to everybody while they were apart and OW/OM abound.
Enjoy!!
SG Ladies, The Deets: --H/h kiss and in their own POV Headspace they tell us how they still have deep feelings for each other --H/OW - immediate fade to black sex scene with a barely legal girl. --h/OM - graphic and she hates doing it (even tho she came twice) because she feels like she's betraying H...quite the 180 of what was going on in the H's mind when he went to fuck his OW. Aren't these two precious? --H/OW - BJ from the same barely legal girl as before, the H/h babysat her as 12 and 13 year olds...classy. Did I mention the h walks in mid blow?
None of it would have bothered me if the H/h hadn't kissed and told us (repeatedly) in their POV Headspace how much they wanted/cared about the other.
However the H/h don't even get it on until 91%. There're "together" after 40% but they just can't seem to find that pesky bed.
Bonus drama: The h is pregnant with the OMs baby. He's also a cop. And she loses the baby before 12 weeks. Cheers!!!
MY RATING: ☆☆☆☆ "Point of Return (Nordic Lords MC, #1)" by Stacey Lynn
Complimentary copy provided by the author "Stacey Lynn" in exchange for an honest review.
A gripping story of Deceit, Love lost, Love rekindled, Destruction, Vengeance and Death.
"The family that she hated and wanted to escape, was the only one I had who would make sure our enemies would pay for what they did to her and me."
This book really surprised me, once I picked it up I was so absorbed in the story that I struggled to put it down, so much drama, angst, you name it this book delivered it, the only thing I found lacking which is why I'm only rating it 4 stars is the raging hot biker sex..Other than that this would be getting slapped with a 5 star review!!
"Not gonna fuck you tonight, Liv." She moaned against my skin and the vibrations went right to my dick. "Gonna make it good for you though. And when you're ready for me..For all of me..To be on my bike, and in my bed, and livin' in my house permanently..Then I'm gonna make love to you. It might be hard fuckin' or sweet and slow lovin', but however I give it to you, you're gonna take it."
"He had been my FIRST kiss, my FIRST boyfriend, and my FIRST love, I wanted him to be my FOREVER."
"Finally. Five years of wanting and I finally had her in my arms again. It was heavem. Until I felt the sting on my tongue from her teeth. "What the -, " I groaned pushing back from her, wiping my lips with the back of my hand. A small drop of blood showed on my hand."You just fucking bit me."
And yes I know I'm using Jax on my review but come on who no better than him would suit Daemon Knight!!
I was gifted this book for an honest review. I will try not to spoil anything.
First of all I would like to say Oh Nordic Lords this book is awesome and I am sure the next in the series will be just as awesome. This isn't your typical biker book but it also isn't you typical romance. It is by far the best one that I have read so far and I LOVE it. It has sex, guns, mayhem, murder, gun fights, death, tragedy and all sorts of other things that make for an excellent read.
The prologue of this book sets the tone for what we are in for right from the beginning. It isn't going to be sunshine and daisies. It's going to be blood, bullet wounds and bad ass bikers...and some pretty steamy sex. I love that this storyline just grew right from the beginning and just kept getting bigger right to the end. Nothing was rushed and every situation was well written even the ones you wished wouldn't have happened. You could feel the chemistry between Daemon and Liv front the very first time Liv lays eyes on Daemon outside the clinic.
This book has so many things going on but none of it is confusing or too farfetched to make for a believable read. All of the, let me call them side situations, that are introduced in this book have me ready to read the next ones in the series ASAP. Like Jules and Jaden...What will happen with that? Faith and Ryker...How bad ass is he? I would even like to see if Finn finds himself a lady whether he gets his own book or he is just added as a "side situation" I will be happy. Heck I am happy now. I was consumed by this book as soon as I started the prologue and I just couldn't wait to see it all play out.
I like that this book has plenty of action. I like that this book doesn't focus solely on the romance aspect of the story. I like that it is told in dual POV...I mean what is better than reading from a hot male perspective, right? I like that Liv finally accepted her role in life and stopped fighting who she really was and where she belonged. I like that all the big bad bikers rallied around and proved to be the right family for both Daemon and Liv. I also like that they are still big bad bikers with their rough ways. This book is very believable as a biker book and at no time was I ready to call bull$hit ;)
This is a great read and I recommend grabbing it as soon as it goes on sale. It will be 99 pennies the first week and it is set to release Tuesday April 22. Happy Reading!!!
Oh I am such a sucker for MC stories. With the popularity this genre has due to the success of authors such as Madeline Sheehan and of course the juggernaut that is Sons Of Anarchy; authors seem to be making the transition over to the gritty and raw world of Biker romance. Some are okay, other's not so much... Let me say, this for me was up with the best.
This is Olivia Masters and Daemon Knight's story. Both of them grew up in the Biker world and were determined to leave it together as soon as they were old enough. The daughter of the President, Olivia leaves Jasper Bay following a incident that leaves her shot and her mother dead. Daemon stays and becomes VP of the club.
5 years later and Olivia has returned to Jasper Bay but wants nothing to do with the Nordic Lords, in fact she starts a relationship with Travis a local deputy and is resolute in her decision to make her own path in life. However life has a habit of surprising you and she soon finds herself in Daemon's path and in turn her father Bull's and the club.
I really don't want to say more about the story than that as it twists and turns and throws up a lot of surprises throughout. Olivia is a great character. Unlike a lot of female characters in this genre she is strong and knows her own mind. What she does know is that she still loves Daemon but cannot and will not involve herself in that lifestyle anymore. Daemon is a typical alpha biker. He deeply loves Olivia and believes they are destined to be together, but his loyalty to the club is unwavering and this conflicts with his feelings towards Olivia. They share a real chemistry and you will honestly want them to sort out their shit from pretty early on in the book. There are a whole load of various characters in this book and the author does a really good job of incorporating the whole back story (which is pivotal in the storyline)as well as setting them up for future books. The baddies are bad and there is violence, blood, guns and a good amount of steam (without it being over the top) - my perfect MC book!!
I loved the ending, it left you ready for book 2 but without a cliffy that leaves you frustrated. This is a well thought out story with great characters and everything you expect from this genre. I look forward to book 2 and have a feeling it may well be about a certain other Knight.
Point of Return delivers readers with an ultra sexy story of love, loss, fate, choices, and redemption.
Olivia Masters.... An MC Princess who does not want the crown or anything to do with the Nordic Lords Motorcycle Club for that matter. Not even Daemon Knight, the boy who broke her heart and who will do anything to get her back in his life.
But running away from everything you know and a tragic past, Olivia is about to be thrown head first to confront her demons as well as “HIM” again. How will it all turn out? Will Olivia come to accept what destiny has to offer her or will she turn her back on it? And with external forces and betrayal posing to be a deadly threat, will they all make it alive? Or reach the point of no return?
Read and you will find out!
My thoughts: To be honest, I actually had no expectations when I first embarked on this read. Granted, I am a self-professed MC lover, but I was highly skeptical about a relatively new author taking a swing at the MC world.
However...
As my first Stacy Lynn read, I'm happy to say that I actually really enjoyed this book a lot minus any mention of the name Missy! Her involvement was disturbing really.
Point of Return definitely weaves solid ground to instill enough plot and characters to carry on this series as we can tell that this is just the beginning. I really hope that Ryker and Faith's love story comes into highlight and that Olivia and Daemon are still heavily kept in the mix as well as Jaden and Jules' past is revealed.
Gosh, I am so on board with this series! I already can't wait for more!!
A great, great start Stacy!
*I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review for the blog tour. Thank you!!*
Spoiler Ahead This was a pretty good book. Olivia Masters is the daughter of President of the Nordic Lords Motorcycle Club, she grew up in the club. But then Olivia was shot. Her mother killed in front of her she leaves her hometown and her boyfriend Daemon Knight only to return five years later. When Olivia needed Daemon the most, he wasn't there for her and she realized that she had to leave on her own now she has returned and he wants her in his bed. I liked both of these character's Daemon will do anything to get her to stay. Olivia was strong and capable and had been raised to be tough. The book had a lot of things going on in it and when Olivia is in danger she turns to the club. This was my first time reading this author's work this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Gave this one a go as an author I like recommended it but have come to the conclusion me and MC books don't get on! Didn't feel the hero at all in this one and the beginning of the book was just odd almost as if it was the second book in a series, lots of people introduced as if we already knew who they were. Olivia and Daemon the hero haven't seen each other for five years but within minutes of meeting again he comes on strong as if they were only together yesterday! Just found it all a bit odd. I also found myself liking Olivia's boyfriend more than Daemon!
I've been on an MC kick lately and I'm always on the look out for a new twist in the MC storyline. Stacey Lynn gives us the story of an MC Princess who finds herself back in her father's MC and unsure how to deal with the past, which includes her ex-boyfriend and current MC VP Daemon.
I liked Liv and Daemon. They didn't have the typical MC romance. He wasn't a complete and utter asshole, unlike most of the men are. He may have slept around with other women, but once Liv was back and within his grasp, he gave everything up for the one girl he had always loved. He wanted a better life for her and wondered, repeatedly, if he should have done what they talked about when they were kids and left the MC life. Despite the dangers that lay ahead for them, Daemon didn't want to lose Liv and was desperate to do what he could to ensure her safety. It was hard not to fall for Daemon. Liv had a crap hand dealt to her. She was dealing the best way she could, but she wasn't really living. Even though she wanted to be as far away from the MC life as she could, when things went wrong she found herself back in her home town and ultimately back to the club that she detested. She had a tough choice to make: embrace the MC life that she ran away from or risk losing the one man she has always wanted. In the end, Liv had to decide what was more important and if Daemon was worth everything that she had been through.
There are quite a few little sub-plots laid out for the secondary characters that I'm positive will eventually have their own books in the series. I'm hoping, based on how this one ended, that we'll get more of Daemon and Liv's story, in addition to the others.
A great start to the start of the Nordic Lords series and this is definitely one that I'll keep on my radar.
Second re-read of this book. I think I enjoyed it more the second time around than the first. A definite recommendation to those who enjoy a good biker romance.
With so many new releases for supposedly MC romance stories, I was pleasantly surprised to read a new one that had a new approach, engaged me with the characters and didn't make me roll my eyes. I liked the book but there were a lot of confusing issues to me also. Wish the author had included some more details about what went down 5 years ago at the start of the book. She kept referencing back to players that kept confusing me. Seems like Jules just popped up out of nowhere, didn't have a clue who she was and then the references to Scratch. I loved Daemon's dedication to not let Olivia run away again but I did get tired of Olivia's emotional roller coaster and sometimes stupid decisions.
This book would have been possibly a 5 star read for me if the author had fleshed out more of what happened 5 years ago so that I could keep track of the characters better. Another question left unanswered, how did they assume Ryker accidentally killed his father. Too many unanswered questions. But overall a very good new MC romance book. First book by this author for me and I'll probably get the next one in this series.

Recomendo!

I really liked the story and I'm curious to read more about the other characters. I came from a series of disappointments in reading books on the subject and I was surprised by this book. The story and the characters capture our interest and we were absorbed by the story. Recommend!
I just finished Point of Return and I really liked it. Its a biker book so of course I was willing to give it a try and damn am I glad that I got to read it. It is on of those ones that you know is gonna be gritty and dirty but that is what makes it good. Olivia has had some hardships. She is the daughter to Bull, Bull is the president of the Nordiac Lords MC. She ran away a few years ago, has bit of a grudge. Who can blame her. Almost getting killed and then when she is saved feels like she had to handle that all on her own. Deciding to come back she hooks up with Travis. Sources say he is a bad cop but no one knows for sure. All Olivia knows is that she is with him not only because they were friends growing up but she doesn't want to be alone. Not wanting to do with the club she tends to stick to herself. What she didn't count on was Daemon, Vice President to the Nordiac Lords MC. He was her first everything. First love, friend, lover, and heartache. Will she be able to forgive Daemon for the wrongs committed to her by him? What will happen if the club finds out that Travis is a dirty cop when all they were trying to do was protect the town and their own? You will have to read and see....
Daemon, Daemon, Daemon. What a sexy beast. He is everything you could ask for in this story. Biker, sexy, and dirty but what makes him better for me is that he is loyal. His interaction towards Olivia is sad, yet understanding but she knows the life and has to either except it or leave. Olivia is a good girl at heart but she does have to make a decision. What she sees and hears in this story shouldn't surprise her. She has grown up in this lifestyle but at the end of the day you do feel bad for her. Things happen that shouldn't, they had to but you just want her to be able to be happy. I can say that the chemistry between Daemon and Olivia is on fire. It is sexy and hot and man does it just scorch the page. You want nothing more then for them to be together but I have to tell you, it is gonna be hard for them.
Overall this was a very good story. Like I said at the beginning and have been saying.....I'm a biker girl. I love everything about the biker story. The characters, the plots, how gritty and real they are. It truly tends to make an enjoyable read. This has all you could ask for. What makes it for me is the characters. Even though there is many, they are original and trust me, you will want to stick with this story because there is still more to come. Jaden, Jules, Finn, Ryker, and Faith. All I can say is bring on all the drama cause I'm a waiting!
I power read this book in 24 hours and I do NOT regret doing it at all. Now, this is my mood ring over MC 'Romances'. I mean for the most part I think they are overly dramatic for the sake of being overly dramatic. I think we toss in some violence, cheating, and really really triggery situations just to well, trigger the reader.
I have mood swings where I'm like "Worse book ever", or I'm like "This was just amazing."
Apparently, I like to cry when I read MC Romances because the ones that tug at my heart strings do it for me the most.
Now this is the tale of Daemon and Olivia.
From the moment I opened the book I was hooked. It began with a similar tone--a chick was shot. I was like "Of course a chick was shot!" I have this issue with women getting the raw end in these stories. I mean they are 'behind' the men. It always rubs me wrong yet I keep reading them. But Olivia. Oh, Olivia breaks all the preconceived notions, and Daemon, oh boy does he push my BS button about a gazillion times, especially when she walks in on him getting head.
Honestly dude, you should have known she was gonna roll up in there.
These parts always trigger me!
Anyways, as a whole it wasn't a triggerfest MC story. It was solid, emotional, engaging, and very well written.
I connected to and felt for each character and I'm kinda still grumbling over some loose ends the author left so she better give me some more Nordic books because I must have the HEA for more of these characters. I'm shipping hard Finn and Jules but I have this weird feeling its gonna be Jaden that ends up with Jules.
I cried so hard for Olivia more than once. Life just liked kicking this woman when she was down. She had her moments to allow the sadness to simmer, and then she was back on her feet. I appreciated that in her. I felt like the story as a whole could have tied up a bit better. I got it, but it felt a touch rushed. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded another chapter for her to close it up with Liv and Daemon just a touch better, but as a whole I was happy with the read and I will be grabbing more of Ms. Lynn's books in the future.
*I received a copy of this title for FREE via Between the Sheets Promotions in exchange for an honest review.*
Oh Daemon, I loved you I really did, "a vein on the side of his temple popped out. "You're right," he snapped and grabbed his cigarettes and keys from the coffee table. "It isn't my business. But I'd eff you again, anytime." He can be so soothing, "hey, baby," I said, not thinking about what I was calling her. My hands rubbed the tops of her thighs and I gently brushed her knees. "It's okay, Liv. It's all done now. You're okay." Daemon has a temper on him, "slowly I turned around, slipping the gun to the back of my jeans and took a few steps to her. "Does it really matter who I eff?" He's a protective man when it comes to his Liv, "Liv. What did he do?" His hand shook with rage against my skin and his green eyes darkened. "Did her effin' hurt you?" I loved being inside Daemon's head, "my shirt. The one I had always let her sleep in. Something inside of me swelled. Lust? Definitely. Pride? Abso-effin-lutely. Love? God, I want her to love me as much as I did her." These two are like magnets, when together they just automatically go toward one another, "I climbed on the bed and my towel fell away. Liv's eyes dropped to my di** that was hard and throbbing again. Not that it was anything new when she was around." I really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to see what book 2 has to offer.
My first read from this author. Lately I've been on a MC kick and when I came across this book on amazon, I downloaded the sample. It grabbed me by the throat and I didn't hesitate to purchase. This book has everything - MC activity, family challenges, past and current lovers, and most importantly...two strong lead characters who you can't help but root for. The action was fast paced. There was some good smexy stuff however it didn't overpower the story.
Point of No Return offers readers the grit, anger, and chaos that seems to be missing from the avalanche of MC roms that are flooding the market. Lies, betrayal, and pain is the base this world is built upon. Fans of Joanne Wylde and Madeline Sheehan will enjoy.
I really enjoyed this book!! I am beginning to like MC books. This was filled with a lot of action and many story lines and characters, that will keep us busy for a quite a while. :)
POR ebook I loved this book for so many reasons. There was drama, angst, deceit, lies, suspense and a love story in between.
Olivia had grown up in the biker world, with her father being a member of the Nordic Lords MC. Growing up she mostly hung out with the other "biker kids". She had Faith who was her best friend, Ryker who was like a brother to he and Daemon the love of her life. Her and Daemon had plans to get out of town and leave the biker life behind. Until their whole world completely fell apart. Olivia was shot and witnessed her mother's murder and Daemon lost his father. Olivia was left alone at a time she she needed her family and Daemon more than anything. She had just been shot and lost her mother and needed Daemon. But after all that happened Daemon's plans to escape with Liv changed. Feeling alone, let down and angry she decided to leave town.
It's been about 5 years since she has been in Jasper Bay and being home is not exactly where she wants to be. Even though she is technically home she has no desire to see her father or anyone from the club for that matter. But due to unforeseen circumstances Daemon is thrown back in her life, whether she wants him there are not. Daemon has always loved Liv. For him she has always been the one so having her back in Jasper Bay means a second chance with her. But Liv is determined to stay away from the club. Daemon knows she has a boyfriend, who he happens to hate, and knows that convincing her that she belongs with him and back in that life is going to be a challenge, but one that he is willing to accept. Will Liv finally give in and realize that her place in with the Nordic Lords or will she run again?
I loved Daemon. He was the sexy bad boy biker who loved Liv. As far as he was concerned the only place that she belonged was on his bike, in his home and in his club. And he was determined to make sure that, that happened. You knew how Liv still felt about Daemon but she still put up a fight when it came to being with him mainly because she still held onto the hurt from 5 years ago. The club was there to protect her and keep her safe, even if she wanted no part of it. She was one stubborn heroine but I loved her.
Point of Return had so many elements and characters to which I loved. There was the drama and suspense aspect and trying to figure out who to trust and what will happen next. There was Jules and Jaden and trying to figure out their story and wanting more. And then Faith and Ryker who also have a whole history together. I loved seeing bits and pieces of the side characters which sets up the story for the next books in the series. And then their is Finn who I hope gets a book. Beneath all the drama, suspense, murder, deceit and lies is a love story between two people who have loved each other since they were kids. It is their second chance at making it work. Daemon and Liv were meant to be together and with him, on his bike is exactly where she belonged. I was rooting for these two all the way! Stacey Lynn did an amazing job with their love story and everything in between. I cannot wait to see what happens next with these characters that I fell in love with.
A good ride, not quite The Dragon, but still good.
I'm a huge fan of biker culture and MC series; as such, I've seen a lot of films, documentaries, yes, Sons of Anarchy, and read basically everything I can get my hands on in the genre from both a nonfiction and a fiction basis. That puts me in a tough position when I'm asked to review for the genre.
High expectations come into play when it's the first book someone is willing to pick up out of a pile of TBRs, right?
Point of Return does a nice job of setting up a solid entry into the world of The Nordic Lords MC. There's enough background on the town, the other clubs they run with, their major competitor club -The Black Death MC-, and plenty of sidebar characters to flesh out a full series. That makes this book an excellent jumping off point for the series, but that's exactly what it reads like: a jumping off point for a series.
This is a pilot episode. There are literally tons of side plots put into this -(i.e. Jaden dealing with Jules and Sophie, back story for a bunch of people like Finn and Ryker and Faith and Scratch and a bunch of others, the whole Sporelli thing, etc.)- which leaves room for more than one full "season" of stories in the world of The Nordic Lords. I'm willing to sign on for the next episode. I want to see where it goes.
It was still a little too much like reading a pilot for a series than reading a story about two people and their journey. There were too many distractions. There were too many random interjections which could have been held off for the next book. There was too much going on, period, all the way through, and the ending was rushed as well as being predictable.
Was it a bad read? No. I enjoyed it. It was fun. It was a nice ride, but The Dragon? That's the best ride a biker can take if you ask someone who really wants to ride, and this wasn't riding The Dragon as much as riding Route 66 with the boys down familiar pathways with Easy Rider's soundtrack blasting along the way.
I'd recommend it as a solid read to anyone who is a fan of MC books. I don't know that I would recommend it as an intro novel to someone new to the genre though. It's definitely worth 4 stars on the writing quality, the consistent storytelling throughout, the attention to detail, as well as the three-dimensional nature of all the characters. Great weekend read!
***NOTE: My review was based on a complimentary copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest opinion on behalf of This Redhead LOVES Books Blog.***
Olivia Masters is the daughter of Bull the President of the Nordic Lords MC and she's done everything she could to escape that life along with her first boyfriend Daemon, actually Daemon wasn't just her first boyfriend he was her first 'everything' and they were making plans to leave town as soon as they turned eighteen, but then their world goes to hell and in one night Olivia's mum and Daemon's dad are both killed and Olivia herself is shot, and everything changes, everything she'd dreamt and planned for was snatched away and life will never be the same. Consequently Olivia leaves Jasper Bay alone for five years but then she returns and fights hard to avoid being dragged back into the life she never wanted...or did she. I'll admit I struggled with the beginning, I was having trouble getting into this book, at times it felt like a second book not a first in series, I even stopped reading to check I hadn't missed a book, I also checked the other reviews but no one else seemed to have issues so I assumed it was me, I just felt I'd missed something but since all the reviews were so good I continued on and I'm glad I did. I enjoyed this book although I admit at times I liked Travis a lot more early on, Daemon grew on me of course and by the end of the book I think I was really starting to like him which surprised me because I couldn't stand him at all for the first part. Olivia, I moan about authors not being able to write a decent female character since a lot of the time female leads are little more than brainless idiots, Olivia I liked, for the most part she was strong willed but even she had a couple of 'stupid' moments and I didn't like the way she treated Travis, in fact now I think about it there was a lot that annoyed me about her so maybe I didn't like her as much as I thought. I also had issues with the 'romance' it's difficult to get fully on board with this when the main couple spend so much time with other people, and I have to say it never fully won me over. This book had a lot of great characters, too many to mention and therefore some interesting side stories running through this book, will I read the next book 'Point of Redemption' yes, as soon as I've finished this review I can't wait for Faith and Rykers story.
Olivia fled her home and the motorcycle club she grew up in after her mother was killed in front of her and she was shot. Feeling abandoned by those she loved when she needed them, she stayed away for five years. She then finds herself back in her home town but fighting against returning to the life she once knew and loved. Circumstances beyond her control place her back in touch with the motorcycle club she fled and her first love Daemon. Through all the struggle and chaos, it becomes clear to Olivia that she might not want to continue fighting the life she once loved, and the man she finds she still wants.
If you like books about motorcycle clubs and the special kind of drama, chaos, and personality that goes with that lifestyle then you will enjoy this book. The characters are a little raw and a little rough, but are easy to engage with and take interest in. Olivia is an easy character to connect with. It is clear that she's been hurt and has had a hard time moving past that hurt and the people she associates with that. It is also hard to see that she isn't really living a life that provides her with any real fulfillment because of being stuck emotionally. Daemon has had to make a lot of tough choices himself, and he isn't always the easiest guy to get along with. It is clear, however, that he is a sexy man who is in love with Olivia.
There are all sorts of plot twists and turns, but through it all we get to see Olivia realizing who she is, what she wants, and embracing the life she is choosing to live. The sexual tension between Olivia and Daemon is intense and hot. I really hoped that they would be able to figure things out since they obviously loved each other and had for a very long time. I enjoyed the action and excitement in this book as well as the intense emotional roller coaster these characters went through. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
