Finian Atropos once loved, laughed and lived his life in a care free way.
He never guarded his heart or tortured , he never defied the Fates.
Much has changed since then, he’s become the monster that everyone feared he would be, betrayal does that.
On one drunken evening Finian stumbles across a journal with pain felt and heart wrentching entries within it.
And so he begins to read.
Dragged through his past Finian relives the love and happiness he once felt for a particular Luck Oracle; Thane.
Will this journal of memories finally be what it takes for Finian to listen to Thane and hear his side of things , all those years ago or will Finian stick with his journal and continue his revenge mission?
Finian however, is not alone in his memory walk, ever the loyal brother Astathis reads along side with him dragging himself down memory lane.
but can Athis finally heal and move on as he sees his Love for Kincaid on those tatty beige pages or will this solidify the rage felt within the Fear Oracle?
Welcome back to Epinia! I've been waiting for to return and discover how Benny and Thane met Finian and what happened between our favorite characters in the past. How did Finian become so ruthless, and what happened to Thane? Read The Oracle's Path now and find out!
Finian had great banter at the start with almost everyone, eventually leading him to Thane. Their relationship was beautiful but also very painful, as was Kincaid's and Athis'. Finian's diary was so cute and heartbreaking at the same time, full of love and sorrow. Finian has changed so much, and it was surprising to see his soft side (which I adored) before his ruthless self. I loved seeing how everyone met and what led to their feelings towards each other in the present day.
I got to meet many new characters, but I have to mention Pandora (who is so cool) and, of course, the twins Anni and Lucien Malachai! I was so hyped to see my namesake in a book! I'm very grateful to be part of the story in this way. ❤️ Another great character I have to mention was Eris. I'm excited to see how her character development will continue.
I especially enjoyed that Ashby used Finnish words and our snowy country too, with a cool Viking-type character! Ashby has a skillful way of writing inclusive characters with raw and realistic problems, heartbreaks, but also full of love and care. Amazing representation among the characters is something I'm always glad to see. The character development to the present day is written in a very logical way. Also, the countries and places are described well, but most importantly, the reader can feel all the emotions alongside the characters. You can totally dive into this book and forget the real world, which is a feeling I'm after! I'm so excited to see what the next book will bring us!
"What a pair we made, the monster and the experiment."
Finian is lost to his grief after the events that transpire at the end of The Oracles' Dream. He doesn't even care about the trashed state of his room. And then he finds his old journal and we follow his memories to learn why he is the way he is now, how he became Death's Butcher. In trying to draw him out of himself, Athis instead remembers his own past with all its heartache and betrayal. No one is born a villain, not even Oracles of Fear or Death.
I absolutely loved this companion novel to The Oracles' Dream. We learn how Benny and Fin met, why Calix hates the Atropos brothers and get to see the beginnings and endings of each of their past love stories. Learning that the Fates (and Calix because f*** that guy) are the true villains makes everything hurt more but also gives hope for reconciliation.
Charli"s writing gets better with every book she publishes. This one has a bit less slow burn but there is still more plot than smut. I absolutely adore her well researched approach to all the inclusivity in her world. Deaf, LGBTQ+, POC, and mental health rep all abound in Epinia. The latter is especially prominent as we get multiple POVs from characters navigating new relationships while still dealing with past trauma, something I think resonates with a lot of readers. That being said, please check triggers as there are several.
Tropes include: Best friend's brother MM romance Morally grey MMCs Second chance romance Friends to lovers to enemies He falls first
*this is a companion novel and should be read between The Oracles' Dream and The Oracles' Nightmare*
Just a lot of emotions and revelations all at once coming from every direction, every character, at every point in time.
That was such a powerful walk through memory lane that just had me gripping my phone at the intensity of all these memories and flashbacks. Every strong emotion, every painful crack, and every faceted secret of the past.
The world was touched upon as we followed these characters through the memory lane. While most of the events happened in the past, you can clearly take note of moments that have changed from then on and in the present time. Which makes for a thrilling read.
This companion novel’s plot was on the nose for the title. We follow each oracle’s path, each god’s intentions, and each fate’s new revelation. As a book specifically made with probably around 65-80% flashback, it was dealt in such an amazing way that did not dampen my experience of the book.
Ugh the romance was just. Ugh. That hurt me (positive, I like angst).
All the characters feel more fleshed out because of all this new information from the past. How they changed their demeanor from this to that. What ever in the world happened that made for such disastrous breakups. How have their actions dramatically affected all their relationships. A lot of my questions got answered, and I’m very much in love.
STAR RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 SPICE RATING: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
Every single book that Charli writes just keeps getting better and better. The language that is used throughout The Oracles Path is simply stunning and so impactful.
I absolutely adored the fact that in Finian’s broken state following on from The Oracles Dream we spiral into learning more about his past when he comes across an old Journal. Learning about how Finian became the oracle he is when we meet him in The Oracles Dream, and how he met Benny who is hands down one of my favourite characters felt like the most perfect addition to the series.
There is a plentiful amount of smut, which Charli writes so incredibly well, but this feels important to the story and not overwhelming to the plot line that had me hooked.
I feel like this book really gives us more of that in depth knowledge we were frankly all craving about the relationships between the oracles as well as introducing us to a host of phenomenal new characters.
I 100% recommend picking this series up, it’s *chefs kiss.
First of all.... my babyyyy. Finian I love you sm. Getting more of his backstory was so fun and was really interesting learning exactly why he is how he is in oracles dream.
Also my other babies broke my heart (Athis and Thane) because whyyyyyy. Will say, sorry Charli, still hate Calix (he's such a cool character don't get me wrong but still hate him).
I will admit, I'm not very good at tracking storylines if there's lots of flashbacks which this book is largely made up of. Charli did a great job of dating when things happen but I struggle with that stuff so I know I've probably muddled some stuff so it did drop the rating from 5 stars. It also just wasn't as good as Oracles Dream and that was a PHAT 5 star so...
Still would definitely recommend, only AFTER reading Dream though otherwise you're gonna be very confused.
Finian Atropos is in agony after the ending of The Oracles' Dream. He tries to find solace in the bottom of a bottle but struggles. He's become a monster, full of pain and suffering, lashing out and torturing those he thought contributed to his loss.
One drunken evening he stumbles across a journal he kept during the years after his rebirth as Death's Oracle. It's full of heart wrenching entries that also give his brother Athis a walk down memory lane of his own love for Kincaid.
Can this journal finally help both the Atropos brothers heal? Or will they both destroy the world with their rage?
This was a good companion novel. It's kind of a prequel of sorts because you learn about the past of the delicious characters in Epinia and how they get to The Oracles' Dream. It's full of spice and suspense and heart break and one to read after Dream.
Following the devestating cliffy from The Oracles Dream, this is the companion novel which gives the back story of Finian, Athesis, Thane, Benny, Kincaid and other characters we have been introduced to.
Once again i absolutely fell for everything going great until, All the heartbreak that is referenced in Oracles Dream happens.
And oh it was heartbreaking.
Overall i adored this and i loved seeing how all the characters met and interacted (the banter is hillarious), before they got dealt a harsh hand.
I love this book more than I love the first one. I love how the author explore the chemistry between the couples, because I feel like first book was so confusing about this female character She just popped up out of nowhere and then it’s just an Insta love and spicy relationship without any connection. I got that they are faded maids, but that was just too soon.
Update: author need to stop with the word WINK

Move over Xaden, Rhysand and Nyktos… Kincade has come … 🥵👀😍
On that premise and the first line alone I was drawn into a world of dreams and death, love and lust and the most beautiful lyrical writing ✍️ I can be quite a slow reader sometimes and I am just devouring the ARC I was so very generously given! This is already my “read of the summer”. This book has some of the most sensitive and steamy spice Scenes I’ve ever read (…and I consume them Constantly!) and is legitimately the most inclusive and representative read I’ve ever come across ( including: POC, LGBT+, kink, varying physical Abilities and mental health conditions.) I can’t wait to finish this book and devour the authors back Catalog. /⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you have the hots for dream of the endless, Draco fan fiction and loved song of Achilles or the captive prince by C.S Pacat you’ll want to add this to the top of your TBR.
