A nice reminder of why I was initially drawn to graphic design and how I have betrayed these ideals somewhat in the interim. While at times I find it hard to get behind some of Barnbrook's naïve political views——the borderline anti-Semitic bashing of Israel that Adbusters has also sadly engaged in is particularly base——his overall message and commitment to both his views and how it plays out in his work is nothing less than highly admirable. Not to mention that the work itself is so strikingly original, even divorced from its provocative subject matter. I felt guilty after reading this book—guilty for not being stronger in my ideals and applying them to my work, but also guilty for not doing work that is more original. Barnbrook is a true artist and we are lucky to have him.
