Unrequited love sounded so cliché when it came to describing what Sansone Sultana felt for his business partner and best friend Nyssa Blackwell and yet, it seemed to be the only viable option of words. When you spent the majority of your time staring at a woman and wondering if you could get away with bending her over your desk without being slapped ugly, there wasn't much else you could use to characterize your feelings. But when Nyssa slips up on the night of her birthday, giving Sansone a taste of the sweetest mouth he’s ever know after one too many, he finds himself questioning if his silent adoration is truly as unreciprocated as he thought. A man recognized for his voracious predatory instincts in their profession, he can’t very well let this slide through his fingers can he? After all, he is called the barracuda…
When Nikki wrote her first story in the tenth grade, she knew without a doubt she was destined for greatness. Now if she could just convince everyone else... Buckling down, she‟s taken the time to polish what she refers to as her "writing superiority." She hopes that the tales she has created grab the readers‟ attention, and make them devoted slaves to her will fans.

This is a double review with What a Bear Wantsbecause they are both by the same author, I read them in close proximity and my feelings for the books are both very much the same.
Both books have very similar strengths and weaknesses
I liked the author's writing style. She writes in a very humorous style that is incredibly reminiscent of Shelly Laurenston. I love LOL humor in romance and feel that we don't get enough and this author really delivers in spades. Her writing in very sharp and witty. The words are like little funny bullets that puncture as you read.
I also really enjoyed her basic set ups in both books, both the backgrounds and the professions of the main characters.
lAso in both book the chemistry, both emotional and sexual between the hero/heroine was excellent.
However, as much as I liked these things they weren't enough to really elevate either of these books to a place where I just flat out loved them.
Probably, imo, the biggest weakness of both books was that I don't think the author gave her characters distinct voices. They all sounded exactly alike. They all spoke alike. They -- to the person -- were all sharply snarky, quite witted, expert verbal fencers. Characters who had never met each sounded exactly alike.
Sansone and Nyssa are an amazing couple and kept me in stitches. Their attraction and denial and chasing of each other made this story to die for. I loved how Sansone protected Nyssa at all times while trying to manage his love and desire for her. Nyssa loved Sansone but the effects from her past relationship made her hesitant and scared to love Sansone like he deserved.
I laughed through their conversations and actions. I cheered when Sansone handled Woodward. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good love story with a lot of humor.
This was my first time reading a book by this author and I loved it! The chemistry between ALL of the characters was totally tangible. Ms Winters' writing is not only intelligent but also very witty. I'd love to read more about all of these characters.
This author could have had a great romantic comedy on her hands, but certain aspects makes this another sex book. the woman were a little too vulgar for me. So as most IR books with BWWM.
Another lighthearted, easy-to-read little "Winter RomCom", but with some serious belly laughs mixed into the constant witty repartee.
While not unique in anyway, the story itself is more than palatable, made so by engaging characters, both primary and secondary, with a penchant for come-backs that can only be described as enviable.
Just what the doctor ordered, and beats an apple any day...
Nikki Winter was a find that was unexpected but greatly appreciated her characters are crazy sexy funny and Soo hot like Sansone big crazy sexy Alpha this book was great on to the next book
Sansone and Nyssa are business partners and best friends, both afraid to act on their feelings for each other. After too much alcohol, Nyssa makes a bold move and kisses Sansone. She regrets it in the morning, but she couldn’t put that Genie back in the bottle. Sansone had a taste of what he’s always wanted and he’s not ready to go back to the friend zone.
I love Nyssa’s character. She is sassy and spirited but she’s scared of possible repercussions if their love doesn’t last. She doesn’t want to put their business and their friendship in jeopardy.
I. LOVE. SANSONE. He is alpha to the max and I just live for that! He is bold and sexy, and refuses to give up on Nyssa and their relationship.
There are plenty of deliciously sensual sex scenes to enjoy and the banter between the couple is hilarious. Ms. Winter has a great sense of humor!
If you are looking for a fun romance between a sexy but relentless alpha and his strong and fiery heroine, look no further than “Beauty and the Barracuda!” :)
Beauty and the Barracuda by Nikki Winter was published in 2014 and is still easy to read and entertaining. The story starts with a sweet prologue that lets readers know where they are and then we get to see how they got there! We get some backstory as flashbacks and reflections. This book is one of those slow burn romances where friends have danced around their feelings for years without acting. Sansone and Nyssa are connected by their family (his brother/her sister), their jobs, and Nyssa genuinely loves him but does not feel that she can take the leap from love to friendship. Can the ardent, sexy and endlessly patient Sansone change her mind? He is going to work double-time to make her his own!
That was so many thing or emotions in a book. I love Nassya and Sunny relationship, because they was friends first. He had her back, against them all. Then he loved her when she didn't think anyone ever would, and what girl don't want a love like that? But Nassya is scared to give Sunny that one thing.
I just can't begin to explain the stomach cramping laughter that was caused by this book. Friends to lovers is a common trope but this book was anything but. It was witty and snarky and showed great understanding and evolution with these characters. Nikki Winter killed it!
