An Ancient Prophecy... A forbidden love... Now, there’s nowhere to run...
André's abilities have always marked him as special, but fulfilling an ancient prophecy is enough to have him ostracized into the cosmos. Love was his motivation for preventing his parent's execution, now in Earth's refuge, love is his undoing again.
The Commander's daughter is off limits, but this kind of love is destiny, forcing Katrina and her alien paramour to elope.
Word of André's survival reaches his home planet when his image is broadcast across the universe. This time, his very existence may well trigger the destruction of a planet, his haven, Earth.

Andre and Kat were an interesting couple. Matthew's dedication to the boy he found in space was admirable. However, I felt this story was a quick outline that left me wishing for more depth to the story. There seemed to be an over fixation on sex that really wasn't necessary to keep the plot interesting and moving. I liked the alien plot but wish there had been more story and less of a shock and awe approach. Teenage attraction, loss of control and unplanned pregnancy can all be appropriate subjects for upper level students. However this book goes too far with the crazy sexed up women throwing themselves at Andre. And was the rape of mom and Kat really necessary? These scenes prevent this from being an acceptable title for the classroom. I received this book as a free preread in exchange for my honest opinion from Netgalley.
I was provided with an ARC for and honest review. This book was interesting. Andre is brought to Earth at the age of ten. This book tells how Andre, an alien with super mind powers adjust to living with his new parents, hiding from the government and accepting responsibility for his actions. I loved the secondary characters in this book and sometimes that broke my heart. I love Andre's point of view for the reason he is exiled from his home planet. It is very evident that the author put a lot of thought into Andre's background, powers and history. I honestly wish the book didn't jump in time as much. I would have loved the details of his everyday life a little more. I would also like a sequel.
I am so, so, so disappointed! The first few chapters of this book were brilliant. I try so hard to finish books no matter how much I dislike them, but I couldn't bring myself to finish this one. I only managed to get a quarter of the way through. This review is going to contain spoilers!
After being exiled from his own planet at the age of six and put into a little spaceship with not enough food or oxygen to survive, André was found by earth. He had somehow managed to survive five years in the ship. When he got to earth, he set eyes on Katrina. They were quickly banned from seeing each other. So, after barely saying a word to her, he falls in love with her. They don't talk again for another six years. After the six years, they talk on the beach once and pretty much tell each other they are in love with each other.
I feel like I have been forced to say this far too many times recently, but I can't stand instant love. Personally, from the moment André saw Katrina I was hoping they would be friends not lovers. You can imagine my disappointment when on the first day that they began talking after the six years, they profess their love and he takes her virginity. And then, to make matters worse! That night, they run away together and the next day they get married! I'm sorry. But no. This is just too much, I can't read books this ridiculous.
I am reviewing this book after receiving it as an ARC from the publisher. Andre is an alien who is discovered floating in our galaxy as a boy of about 10. He is adopted by the commander of the ship that found him. He was exiled from his home planet because of his blue eyes and although human-like, has different powers such as reading minds and moving objects with his mind. By age 17 he is a hormonal boy in love with Katrina, daughter of his adopted father's boss. They are supposed to stay apart, but can't, so they marry. She gets pregnant right away and they have various trials and tribulations, some typical teenage and some due to Andre being an alien. There's another skip in time and Andre is an adult and must deal with the evil Emperor from his home planet who has come to kill him. The story was bland and predictable. The author could have made more of Andre's differences and how humans dealt with them. His powers seemed to wax and wane without any real reason - he would tire, but then anger would ignite them again. He could shatter a meteor but couldn't restrain a hovercraft in another part. There was a really weird section where Andre attracted all the women around him sexually that didn't seem to make a lot of sense except to throw in some sex scenes.
