I received this book as a winning for a giveaway drawing, and was drawn by the cover of this book. I normally don't read books about Faye and magic but the cover was so intriguing that I have to read it and bumped it up my tbr list. when i started this book i was instantly hooked, knowing it would be a fun weekend read. the main character clover and her curse are so different and believe me I felt had for her with that curse (evil evil). the discriptions of the characters are very well written and i could picture them while i was reading even down to the green slimy skin. not to give to much away, the fight seen toward the end was short but not long enough where it takes over the book it was the perfect length. the description of the fight seen was well written and i expected the very ending of the book but how it came about i was totally wrong about, so nice little plot twist :)
over all i would love to give this books 4.5 stars but since it has to been an even star (boo) im giving it 4 stars. a very fun and a bit sexy read when you have a weekend that needs some fun!!

Poor Elfess Clover has been put under a spell by a very nasty little goblin. I don't normally read about elves, but this one is a page turner!
I really enjoyed it. Clover has a problem that made me squirm. :) It's an awesome read for a lazy weekend afternoon. I couldn't stop till I finished it! I will definitely read more of this series. I highly recommend it!

Yes, Yes and double fucking yes!
For weeks I have been craving for something that would just give me a major overload. Something that would make me squirm in my seat. And Decadent Kane brought it!
Clover made a huge mistake one night, caught out in the rain in the forest a friendly human guy offers her shelter and she steps into her very own prison. It wasn’t a human, but a very powerful goblin. Because he help Clover she is indebted to him forever, in order words, she became his very own little pet to keep and use as he please. For two years Clover have been seducing men to bring back a special ingredient needed for a potion to turn the ugly goblin into a human. And for two years Clover have been driven wild with lust, but is denied an orgasm.
Cursed to disappear every time she became sexually aroused, always coming back to the same damn place.
Frustrated and desperate to escape the goblin, Clover searches for a way to escape. Then the goblin makes a huge mistake, he sends Clover out to seduce another man, and this man or elf is the dead sexy, no bullshit Reed. Clover’s hormones double up the moment her eyes finds Reed, the owner of the bar she ends up in. But Reed isn’t playing her game, he’s not looking for a quick fix, he’s looking for forever. With her hormones flying high, and her emotions out of control Reed ignites her fury by trying to intimidate Clover in his bar.
“No, I won’t hit you, but there are plenty of things running through my mind to appease the whip of your tongue. I should see to it that you are punished for your brazen words.”
When Clover turns the tables on him, his left utterly dumbstruck and totally in love.
He did not just call her a slut. She didn’t even know what to say. So many eyes were watching. He’d basically fucked her with words and left her hanging, then insulted her. “You’re right, savior. I eat elves like you alive, devour them between my lips, suck out their souls, swallow their juices, and spit out their hearts.”
The only problem is how does he find Clover, when she just vanished in thin air?
This was such a great read. Kane created a feisty elfess that doesn’t take any crap, and when she turns on Reed and gives him a dose of his own medicine, I was snickering with delight. Clover is a fighter and she doesn’t give up at all. She was magnificent! Kane went even further by throwing in the mysterious, dead sexy elf Reed. I fell in love with this guy in one page! Kane develop some amazing characters that would fill pages forever. But the best part was the special ingredient needed for the goblin’s spell. OMG! That was some creative thinking!
Kane’s writing style was fresh, easy going and well written. The editing was spotless and I had no trouble settling in and just taking off and devouring page by page. It was exactly what the doctor ordered! In the end I was screaming for more. I will for certain be looking out for any new reads from Kane. So, if you are looking for a hot read with some amazing characters, go get your copy today!

By now, I've had the pleasure to read a few of Decadent Kane's Trouble With Elves series (some of them even before release! Neener neener neener.) Tempting Clover, Kane's newest novella, has quickly become my favorite.
Clover is an elfess with a problem: the goblin Malik has tricked her into a contract, wherein she is doomed to be returned to him every time an enticing male gets her feeling hot and heavy--and always before any fun can come of it! Malik collects her "sexual essence" to turn into a potion which will make him human, long enough for him to go out and score a hot date with a lady. How ridiculously unfair.
But Tempting Clover is not some sort of "odd couple" comedy. The story takes a quick turn towards the promising elvish bartender, Reed, who may be the first man Clover simply cannot imagine skipping out on in those final moments of heat, and then another quick turn into the dark and dangerous territory of navigating a counterspell behind Malik's back, to free herself for good.
I found this story to be one of the most compelling Kane has written. The chemistry between Reed and Clover is dynamic and very effective: I don't normally go for true love matches in a short novella, because so often they rely on a poorly-forged "instant" connection to justify them as soul mates. For Reed and Clover, though, there is no deus ex machina to use as an excuse: they have a rather whirlwind turnabout from competitive denial into want and passion, but it travels along some very relatable and endearing lines. I found myself very invested in their happy ending, and even more hateful of the villain Malik, because he stood in their way.
My one complaint about Kane's writing is that I always want it to be a bit longer. I do enjoy a "quick read" now and again, The Trouble With Elves feels so rich already, I'm often yearning to see a fleshing out of some of the world's more creative and interesting features. In Tempting Clover, I yearned for more time with the characters: Reed and Clover are just such a loveable pair, with an excellent dash of contrast and a gruff but beautiful affection.
Not only Reed and Clover, but Malik and the fourth featured character, Idis the Sage Witch, are such dynamic creatures. You love and hate them with a real enjoyment. None of them is stale or lacking in dimension.
I give Tempting Clover an enthusiastic five stars, and must say it is one of the most satisfying short love stories I've run across in the genre. I'm eager to see more coming along in this series, but I'd love to see a continuation of these two and their unfolding passions.

Writing Style:
If I could sum up Decadent Kane's writing has one of the highest degrees of allurement I've ever encountered. She has an ability to grasp the reader's attention from the first sentence and keep them begging for more. Her character's stand out due to their reactions to the fascinating situations she places them in. The world development is visually striking and is filled to the brim with magical elements. The plot flowed well but seemed to be missing something. The story progressed quickly and the ending was rather brief. The ending left me feeling a bit unsatisfied, it needed to be longer.
My Opinion:
I have to admit I really liked the storyline of Tempting Clover. It was unique and quite intriguing. Imagine being cursed by a goblin and not ever being able to act upon your sexual desire AT ALL. Seems like a nightmare, don't you think?
The curse that Malik (the goblin) placed on Clover was vexing and disgusting. Malik is a repulsive and selfish jerk who I so wanted to punch in the ugly nose. He took the primal instinct of lust and passion away from Clover all for his own bidding. NO ONE should be forced to withstand what he inflicted upon her.
One of my favorite aspects in this novella was the characters. I fell in love with Clover from the moment she was introduced. Oh, how her predicament tore at my emotions. Reed made my heart skip a few beats; he is just so damn perfect. I despised Malik. I thought the sage witch was pretty freaking epic. The attitudes and personalities of each character was represented in such a glorious way, I can still visualize them in my mind.
I only have two problems regarding Tempting Clover. I feel like the story should have been longer, especially the ending. The story doesn't seem fully complete to me. I also think it should have had more erotic scenes. I was expecting something high up on the spicy ranks but it fizzled down to just a little spicy. I honestly think I'm just upset that I may never read anything more about Clover again. (Pretty positive that's my problem, I feel like my drug has been taken away)
Overall, I would still recommend Tempting Clover to anyone who enjoys unique and beautifully written novellas or someone who enjoys paranormal romances. I plan on reading more from Decadent Kane in the near future because I truly enjoy her style of writing.

One terrible decision to trust, caused Clover her freedom. Now in the hands of a goblin she is unable to leave. Using Clover to obtain sexual essence, used for a spell, the goblin forces Clover to do his bidding. He sent Clover to a bar one night, and there she finds the elf of her dreams. Reed wasn’t looking for a woman, but when the sassy Clover walks into his bar, she turns his world upside down.
But before he could act on his desire, Clover disappears right before him. Afterwards Reed is plagued by the sexy elfess, but she is nowhere to be found. When she returns to his bar, she quickly tell him of her curse just before she disappeared again.
He follows lead and finds himself at a witch’s door, where he discovers that his elfess was being kept prisoner by a powerful goblin. Determined to free her, he waits for her to return to the witch and help lift her binding curse to the goblin. But the goblin is much stronger than anyone anticipated.

I was clinging to my kindle, dreading the outcome. The characters was amazing, and well developed. Clover was the sassy elfess that doesn’t back down from a fight, yet become the gently woman locked away inside her when she finds Reed waiting to rescue her.
Reed is the perfect hero. At first he denies his attraction to Clover, but soon can’t resist to get his hands on her. He is fierce and stands up to fight for the elfess that captured his heart within just a few minutes. Kane’s writing style was perfect and well written. I found myself at home immediately and simply devoured this story. I am definitely looking out for the next edition to this series. Well-deserved 5 stars from me.

Clover is an elf with a problem; she has been cursed by a very nasty goblin and for the last two years she’s been denied any kind of orgasm as whenever she gets *ahem* hot and bothered, the goblin zaps her back to him to use her arousal for his magic potions. When she meets Reed the sparks fly between them, but can he help her to break the curse?
I really enjoy the storyline on this, it was a very original idea – I’ve certainly never heard of a curse like this before! The magic elements were well planned and the world building was solid and realistic. I especially loved some of the descriptions of the elven world, like Clover’s glen – beautiful and poetic.
Character-wise, you can’t help feeling for Clover. She’s smart, determined, strong-willed and doesn’t take any crap. :) The interactions between her and Reed are fantastic, and the chemistry between them is sizzling. I would have perhaps liked a little more relationship development between them, but for a short novel it was well done. Reed was a great hero, strong and sweet, and the secondary characters were quite developed. In particular Malik was a truly nasty ‘bad guy’ that you really wanted to get his comeuppance, while Idis was interesting and quirky and left you wanting to know more about her.
Overall, extremely enjoyable read, couldn’t put it down! :) Decadent Kane’s elves are currently on my ‘must buy’ list and this book doesn’t disappoint. Shall be eagerly awaiting the next instalment.

The beautiful elf Clover has lost her freedom all for want of shelter from a storm. Next time she'd be more careful to check who is taking her in! Held under a goblin's curse, Clover must supply him with the evidence of her arousal so the ugly beast can use it for his potions. She meets a gorgeous bartender named Reed who makes her hotter than anyone else before, and even more so, makes her heart beat faster with something else. Can Clover find a way to break the goblin's curse and be free to love as she chooses?
This book was so much fun! It's a modernized fairy tale with a naughty twist. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but gives the reader a fantastic story about elves and goblins. There isn't too much world building or back story. It wasn't needed. This tale is all about the characters and the present conflict.
Clover is a strong protagonist, never giving up trying to find a way to free herself from the curse. She's beautiful and daring. Reed is incredibly sexy. An alpha with powerful morals. The scenes with the two of them are sizzling! As for the goblin, I loathed him. A villain that twists my stomach.
You don't need to read the first book in this series to enjoy this one, but you don't want to miss out on any of the Trouble With Elves books. Decadent Kane does know how to tantalize her readers!

An evil goblin disguised as a human, show Clover the elf compassion one night when she was caught out in the rain. Little did Clover know that she was about to step into her own prison. Under the evil goblin’s power, she cannot leave and is forced to do his bidding.
When she is forced to go out one night and secure his ingredient needed for his potion, she walks into the bar of the elf Reed. She found her man, but he didn’t want to submit. When he pushes Clover over the edge, they both fall deeply in love with each other. Now they must find a way to free Clover from the goblin’s clutches.
I must say this was a really nice read. I was really enjoying myself reading this novella. I loved how Kane balanced the story with lust and action and didn’t overdue on both sides. You get to venture with the characters as their story unfolds. Her writing style was fresh and well written, making the read even more pleasurable. A great read, with intriguing characters and plot.

Clover ~ For have been trapped/held prisoner for two years, she has a lot of hope still left inside of her and is willing to do just about anything to be freed! When she first meets Reed you can tell there is an instant attraction on her part but no more! But as she goes throughout her plan of becoming free she starts to have stronger feelings for him! In the end she makes the ultimate sacrifice for him!
Reed ~ He's a fighter and loves to fight at that! So fortunately when he finds himself squaring off with Malik in the hopes of saving Clover it doesn't seem to faze him to much. When they first meet yeah he's attracted to her but what she does right before she disappears is was seals her into his mind!
Overall its a good read and a quick read!

Reed ~ He's a fighter and loves to fight at that! So fortunately when he finds himself squaring off with Malik in the hopes of saving Clover it doesn't seem to faze him to much. When they first meet yeah he's attracted to her but what she does right before she disappears is was seals her into his mind!
Overall its a good read and a quick read!

The Verdict?
Though this story is written with a darker plot than the first in the series, it is one that grabs you from the beginning and sweeps you up in the escape. Filled with twisted deeds, provocative situations, and an enslaved elf who is willing to do anything to free herself, this story had me flipping the digital pages, and praying that the little Elfess would find her redemption. I so want more from this brilliant author! Bring on the "Elf" revolution!

Welcome to my review of Tempting Clover, Book 2 in the Elven Obsession series.
Clover wishes she could rewind her life. Two years ago she sought refuge from a homeowner during a raging storm. Unbeknownst to her at the time, her "savior" was a nasty little goblin. Her repayment to him was to pretty much become his prisoner and help him obtain what he needed to complete the spell that disguises his gross and smelly body into that of a sexy human male.
How is she indebted to him? Well, she is required to get all hot and bothered and provide him with the tell all panties. Totally just like a guy, isn't it?! This goblin isn't just raiding her panties to get off, however. She holds the key to the spell. Desperate to get out of her debt, Clover seeks out a sage witch, but not before catching the eye of Reed, a local bar owner. Will Clover find a way out of her mess so she can have real relationships?
Tempting Clover is clever tale of love, debt, and greed. The world building and character development were done very well in this novella. We were given the exact amount of back story that we needed without going overboard or skimping on the details.
Clover was an excellent main female character. What a humiliating curse the goblin put on her, yet she did was she was told all while plotting how to get out from underneath his thumb. Thank god that's the only thing of his she was under - the goblin's description is very vivid and paints a not-so-pleasant picture.
Reed turns out to be a very dashing hero to our cursed Clover. He judges her pretty harshly at first but we see a subtle change in his demeanor that had me sitting on the sidelines waving pom-poms around. The path that both Reed and Clover take to rid her of the curse is filled with bad luck, inconvenient occurrences, and a surprising climax (no pun intended....this time). Sometimes true love does exist - but does our story make room for it?
I was totally fixated on this story. While it is short and should be easily read in one sitting, my household is generally not conducive to reading more than 20 pages before immense interruptions begin....my time with Clover and Reed was no different. It took me probably 3 times longer than it should have but I savored each and every one of those minutes. Tempting Clover is a sexy novella filled with adult themes and scenes.

The second installment in Decadent Kane’s The Trouble with Elves series surpassed the first. The first was a cute tale, with slightly darker undertones. This one, however, added a darker undertone than the first. Tempting Clover is steamy, hot, and has just the right amount of mystery to leave you sitting on the edge of your seat.
You learn quickly how evil goblins can be, and how deep their curses can go. Clover, the poor girl, has been cursed for the past two years, unable to attain orgasm, even from self-pleasure. Clover has become desperate to break the curse, especially after meeting the hot, tempting Reed.
Reed is sick and tired of the female gender. Too often they only want one thing from him, and he simply isn’t that kind of man. With a temper sharper than a blade, and a tongue equally so, he holds nothing back from Clover in his assessment of what she represented. And yet, even after a sizzling first meeting, you see a slow transformation in him, leaving you wondering if just maybe there is hope for Clover.

Clover the elfess is under the spell of an evil goblin Malik. Cursed to disappear every time she becomes sexually aroused. Where once she is retuned she must hand her panties over for Malik to use in an potion to make him appear human and more attractive to women. After two years of this she is determined to find a way to escape. Bad enough having to forgo physical pleasure but to do it for the benefit of an ugly nasty goblin is to much. Until the night the goblin sends her out to seduce a man and she runs into Reed. The sexual attraction is instant but as usual as soon as she is ready to do the deed she is zapped back to Malik. Pissed of Reed tries to forget about her but he can't and when Clover comes back she quickly tells him about the curse before she gets zapped back again. Reed fins himself at a witch's door and from her he learns how to help Clover break the spell. It's never as easy as it sounds.
I have to say I am loving this series. Reed is one hot sexy hero, he makes it worth being under the curse of Malik just so he can help you escape it. Clover is a strong elf. She is determined to escape and nothing is going to stop her. As usual the sex scenes are steamy and have you squirming in your seat.

The Trouble With Elves series just keeps getting better. Goblins have never made my skin crawl the way they do in Tempting Clover. I was hooked from page one and read on until I was finished. Clover has been under Malik's curse for too long and she is eager to escape his clutches. I felt Clover's disgust as I read and by the end Malik had dug skin deep and made he hate him just as much.
Reed is a bar owner who falls for Clover the moment he sees her but then she disappears. As odd as it is, it draws you in to find out why. His journey to find Clover leads him into lands unknown. Reed is sexy as can be and I love the journey him and Clover go through to attempt to escape.
You'll find yourself sucked in desperate to find out if she escapes or not. Does she? Read to find out!

I read this as part of the Elven Obsession Omnibus...
Ok, so I really don’t want to get into each book, because to do a full review for each I’d probably spoil some damn good things for you, so with this I will write a summary for an overall. These are quick, sexy, intriguing, very fun books. Each one is a tale of different characters but set in the same world. The world building is quite good for being short stories. The all have a beginning and an end, so no worries, these have the perfect setting if you want something fun to read but not a whole lot of time. I also liked the writing. I swear I though I was going to either pass out from the suspense, or need a cold shower from the sexy. Oh yeah, it’s sexy LOL. I totally say GET IT! You won’t be disappointed!! 5 Elfy PAWS though please don’t tell them, or the crazy goblins I said elfy, I want to keep my life and my limbs intact :)

Clover has been at her goblin's beckon call since she wanted to find shelter two years earlier. A curse from a goblin is never a good thing. Especially from a goblin that is as old and as ruthless as Malik. He requires Clover's desire to use in a potion to make him human. Clover has been good for two years learning that a Sage Witch might be able to help her and gaining trust for the goblin. Along the way, she runs into Reed, an elf she truly desires. When Malik learns of this, he wants Clover to continue using him since the stronger her desire, the better the potion. Will Clover ever be able to free herself of Malik, or will she be under his curse forever? What about Reed, when he realizes she's in trouble and has a need to help her, will he live long enough to help, after all there is the blonde guy standing in his way after Reed kicked him out of his bar.

The concept of this story is brilliant and so very creative. I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, but the curse that she is under and what the goblin needs from her, I thought was a very interesting concept. Definitely original, and something I haven't seen before. I truly enjoyed that part of the story.
The part that falls a little flat for me is how quickly the story progresses between the hero and heroine. Their story seems to happen at warp speed.
Overall, it was a very original enjoyable read. It was the first piece I have read that contains elf main characters. Makes me want to pick up the rest of the series.

He uses her arousal as a way to pose as human, forbidding her her own release. When Clover meets Reed, her desire to be free of the goblin intensifies, and she takes on a daring mission to break the curse.
This tale kept me enthralled from page one, along with its incredibly delicious sexual implications, a wonderful romance develops and takes just as much center stage. Miss Kane has once again captured my heart with this delightful read, and love conquers all tale.

Loved this book! For being a novella it has so much action and emotion packed into it. I always say that I love a good romance novel but sometimes it's nice to just get right to it, and that is what I love about these books. Evil goblins, sexy elves, and a lovely old witch, what else does a story need?! Maybe a few bedroom scenes.... I adore Ms. Kane's writing, she can put so much into something so small and not leave you feeling like you've missed anything. Highly recommended reading, turning out to be a great series!

As ‘Tempting Clover’ starts out, it is so incredibly different from its predecessor in the series and is instantly full of action and mystery. In no time at all, secrets are revealed and action ensues and turns into steaminess before the end. Malik is a creepy little bastard but you should come see for yourself. I read this in under and hour as it was a fast, fun read – and time well spent at that. As usual with Kane, I am left wanting more and will be sure to check out her other works.

Tempting Clover indeed. More like tempting the reader to say, "MORE! MORE! MORE!". This second installment of 'The Trouble with Elves' series is fun and fast paced, moving along too elffing fast and leaving the reader wanting to know more of this world and its elves. I received this book as a gift from the author. What an awesome read!!! I couldn't put it down until I finished it. Its a great quick fun read for a weekend. Clover was a great character and wouldn't give up until she got free from her goblin captor. Another winning book from Decadent Kane!!!
