“W-what are you doing?”

He set her cup beside his and boxed her in, one hand resting on each side of her.

“I’m going to kiss you,” he said over her lips. “Taste you.”

Her breath caught somewhere between her lungs and her brain…the short circuit could bring her down. “I…I—“

“You want to taste me too.”

One of the best parts about having the opportunity to read and review books, is coming across a series or author that is new to me that I really enjoy. That was the case with Taken By Tuesday by author Catherine Bybee.

This is the fifth book in the author’s The Weekday Brides series and I consider it part contemporary romance, part romantic suspense (lite), and part chick-lit. I haven’t read any of the previous books in this series (how did I miss this series!) and the book worked okay for a stand-alone. The series is sequential, and have the same cast of supporting characters throughout. Previous story lines were referenced heavily throughout the book. For that reason, reading this series in order may make the most sense. If you want to start with book one, read Wife by Wednesday first. After reading Taken by Tuesday and realizing I liked it, I wish I would have started with book one and read the series in order.

The story was told from the dual points of view of the main characters, Judy and Rick. Rick is a security guard for Judy’s brother, who is a famous actor. After graduating college Judy moves into her brother’s house while he is working overseas on a movie. Unfortunately, she becomes the victim of a dangerous stalker and Rick must step in and keep her safe. The chemistry that has developed between these two characters (apparently in previous books), finally comes to the surface and Rick must work to keep Judy safe as well as convince her that they should be together.

Overall, I liked this book! The writing was good and the romance was enjoyable. It wasn't off the charts steamy but it's what I expected from a contemporary romance/chick lit title and was well done. Fans of marriage of convenience may want to check this series out as it seems like it may be an ongoing theme in these books! I love the names of the books too, really cute:

1. Wife by Wednesday
2. Married by Monday
3. Fiance by Friday
4. Single by Saturday
5. Taken by Tuesday

I definitely plan to go back and read the series in order and recommend anyone interested in reading the series to start at the beginning! A solid FOUR STARS!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

After her college graduation, Judy Gardner and her best friend Meg move to Los Angeles. Judy has accepted and internship while Meg is going to look for a job. They're planning on living with Judy's movie star brother, so they don't have to worry about rent. Arriving in LA, they immediately run into Rick Evans, the man in charge of security for her brother's home. Judy and Rick met a year ago and there was an immediate attraction. It's no different this time around. One day while leaving work, Judy is attacked and beaten by a masked man. Rick sticks by her side at the hospital, never leaving her out of his site. But the police are looking at him for the attack. Can she trust him?

After reading the last book in the Weekday Brides series and seeing the chemistry between Judy and Rick, I couldn't wait to get to the next book. It didn't disappoint. Judy is a very likeable heroine who, even though she is in danger, doesn't have any TSTL moments. Rick is totally crazy about her. I loved how protective he was and how he worried that she would believe he was behind the attack. My rating: 4 Stars.

Judy Gardner has been trying to ignore the chemistry that has been bubbling between her and Rick since they met. She has just graduated college and is afraid acting on that attraction will derail her career goals.

Rick refuses to give up on Judy, he’s been patient so far, and he can wait a little while longer. When she moves into her Movie star brother’s house it only increases their interaction and attraction. When she is attacked, he refuses to leave her side. He’s done playing!

My Goddess, who isn’t in love with Rick? I have been charmed by his dimples since he first appeared in this series and his book only added to his charm and my love. Why must fictional characters be so delicious? Damn you authors for making it impossible for mortal men to compare!! 

Rick is Yummy with a capital Y! He and Judy create enough heat to burn the reader’s hands! LOVE THEM! Everything about this book was great, the characters, the mystery, the sex, by Goddess, the sex. In my previous life I would have devoured this book in an afternoon. But now that I am a working girl I have found that it’s frowned upon to read while punched in!

I love this author, this series and this book! Who will be next? Meg? Whoever it is, the book, like this one and those before it, will be fantastic. Can’t wait.

I am a huge fan who has loved every one of the books in the Weekday Brides series by Catherine Bybee and I have been eagerly awaiting Rick and Judy’s story, TAKEN BY TUESDAY. Just the hint of them together in Single by Saturday was enough to know they were going to be great together. Taken by Tuesday can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend you treat yourself to the first four books in the series with an easy promise you will be glad you did. For those of you who are devoted fans like me, yes, it does at least reference all of the main characters from the previous four books.

Rick and Judy met when Judy’s sister-in-law, Karen came to visit the family in their home town for the first time. They had some serious mutual chemistry, but Judy does not want to be like every other small town girl. She’s in her last year away at college and a dead set on pursuing a career in architecture without allowing for anything or anyone to sideline her goals. Not even the oh-so-sexy, Rick and his irresistible dimples. Rick on the other hand, is hooked on the beautiful girl with the silky blond curls who can kick butt at pool. He can’t get Judy off his mind and is just biding his time until she is finished with her last year of school.

After graduation Judy is offered an internship in Los Angeles so her and her best friend, Meg, decide to move to California where they stay at Judy’s famous Hollywood movie star brother, Mike’s home while he is away working on location. Rick and the security firm he works for just happen to be in Los Angeles too, but Judy is still determined to do her best to keep him at arm’s length until the unexpected happens and she realizes having Rick around is the only thing that makes her feel safe.

Rick Evans, a former Marine is a big, gorgeous, alpha male who always has a smile on his face. He works with Neil and he handles all of Mike’s security for him at his house and when he’s in town. Rick refused to give up on Judy, is patient and instead of pushing he finds ways to be near her. He even enlists help from her friend, Meg, on Judy’s favorite things so he can impress her. VERY romantic! When Judy was in danger, I loved how he cares about Judy and insists he is the only one who can keep her safe, refusing to leave her side. Bottom line, the man is a hot, protective, funny, and unwavering in his determination Judy is the woman he plans to make his for a lifetime. Yum!

Catherine Bybee always pulls me in with the promise of sexy and romantic love story and then completely enthralls me with a plot filled with danger, passion, intrigue, and at least one lunatic trying to kill someone off! Taken by Tuesday is no different. It quickly turns into a fast- paced blend of romance and suspense that I found difficult to put down. Didn’t in fact, put it down until I had reached the end. I had to know that my girl was safe, or that is, that Rick’s girl was safe and in his arms where she belongs. 4 stars

I know every time I write a review on Catherine's books I gush on and on about what a great author she is. I promise I won't do that too much this time.. Not that she isn't a great author- oh she is.. But I've reviewed enough of her books by now that you definitely know how much I love her. It's a love that is deep and true.

Again, each and every time I read a book in her series, I declare that THIS is my favorite book in the series. Well... uhmm yeah.. I can't help that she keeps making them better and better!! lol! One thing I always hate about a great book is that eventually it ends. It doesn't matter how well it ends, if the book is amazing (and Catherine's always are!) then I want MORE. This is what I love about her books -- each new book in the series still includes our previous couples. Not as a main role anymore, of course, but they are in there enough that we get to catch little glimpses of their lives and how things are going for them. That warms my greedy book loving heart!

Taken by Tuesday is Judy & Rick's story.. I've been waiting to hear their story since we first met them earlier in the series. Pair an ambitious college graduate who doesn't have time for love to distract her from her life plan with a determine Marine-turned-bodyguard who has been waiting for his chance to pounce on her.. I'm putting my money on the Marine any day :-) Judy is a lovely little spitfire who loves to hustle pool (although it's not hustling if they aren't playing for high stakes and always warn the people they are playing, right?!) and has more courage than most people twice her age. When someone begins stalking her, she has nerves of steel. Rick is determine to date Judy despite her constantly pushing him away- when he finally gets her to go on a date with him, she is attacked by her stalker. He is now thrust into the role of protector and also suspect (in the eyes of the police).

I felt like I waited forever but this suspenseful, sexy romantic novel was well worth the wait! These books just continue to draw me in and I can't wait for the next installment. While I sit here and mourn the fact that there should only be 2 more books in this series, I will begin to read the entire series over again - because yes, I am that person who re-reads her favorite books over and over again.. LoL!

Ok this one is another one of my favorites in the series ... What can I do? Hot hulky guys that might have military backgrounds, and intensely obsessive and protective of their woman, Who really can say no to THAT? XD

- Loved the main couple and their chemistry since the previous book

- Loved their heavy flirting XD

- Loved how Micheal became more engaged with the family, and the scenes he was included were nice, showed brotherly actions, like him and Zach on Rick in the fundraiser, or when he came to his sister's office.

- I really felt sorry for the heroine, and from the pattern in this series the woman face danger and the men come to the rescue, but she was the one who really was under the psychopaths mercy.

- Loved the flower thingy it was so adorable

- loved the washing and diaper changing little scene, it was cute to see such enormous men trying to muddle their way through changing a diaper XD

Overall, *thumbs up*

Judy and Rick’s story stood up to my expectations. I loved that Rick was full on chase mode with Judy. In fact, he could be put under the stalking type of hero. He’s in security, so it is more explainable if your not into that kind of thing... I’m totally into it in my books. 😉

I loved this! Judy was a great heroine, and Rick an excellent equal to her. I loved the tension, their built up history and how their chemistry, just as much as their circumstance, forced them together. This felt much darker than the other books in this series I have read, but the suspense, and not knowing what was coming up next, kept me on the edge of my seat. It felt like the perfect balance of romance and suspense. I fell into this story and laughed, cried and gasped. Each book in this series just keeps getting better, and I love that we get a glimpse of other couples in every book. I also love how supportive all the women are of each other. I definitely recommend if you enjoy romantic suspense. Brilliant!

Judy and Rick met when Judy’s brother and sister in law were in trouble a while back. They had major

chemistry but Judy went back to College and was pursuing a career in architecture. But she could never get

Rick out of her head. Right before graduation Rick found her but she is scared of her attraction to him. She

dosn’t want to be like every other girl from her home town. Go to college then find a man, get married,

have kids and never pursue a career. She’s afraid that what she feels for him will put her in that category.

But during her internship she is attacked. When this happens she realizes how stupid her reasoning for

keeping him at arms length is.

Once Rick first seen Judy he could not get her out of his mind. He even almost went to a wrong college to

look for her thanks to Karen. Once she moves into her brothers house and she can’t run and hide from him

he is relentless when it comes to trying to get her to go on a date with him. When she is attacked he is

determined to find her attacker no matter what.

But when all fingers start to point to Rick and the cops stop looking for the real attacker Judy may have to

marry Rick for reasons other than love but when all is said and done Judy will have to figure out if that is true or

if she really does love Rick.

My Opinion: ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! This was maybe one of my favorites of this series. I was looking

forward to Rick and Judy’s story once their chemistry was brought to attention in the last book and I was not

disappointed! The was a great story. Very well written and greatly thought up idea. Catherine has a great

way of taking a very popular concept and making it her own and writing a book that draws you in hook, line

and sinker and you just can’t put the book down. I know I could not put any of the books in this series down

once I started reading them, this one included. I’m hoping that the next story will be either Mike or Meg’s. I

can’t wait to see what Catherine comes up with for those two! This book is the fifth in the series but can be

read as a stand alone although I do suggest reading the whole series and it is such an AMAZING series! I

definitely recommend reading!

At last Rick's story

Let's just say I waited long for this book. I was waiting before I knew I was. Judy and Rick are all fire from the first page. They had a year of acting like they did not like the other but there is only so long you can keep that up before the fire gets to much to say no to. And when they let into the passion nothing can stop it not even a crazy stroker or bars between them. Apart they are strong but together they are unstoppable.

Let's face it from the first book Rick popped up in he was hot hot hot. And let's just say his one man that can make anyone blush and giggle with nothing but his smile and cheek. He even had me breathing hard with some of the things that wicked hot man can do. I even rolled my eyes at his cheeky ways.

Judy is the small town girl who just wants a chance to make her dreams come true in the big city. But with her dream job going slow and not getting the chance she wants. And trying to forget the crazy feeling Rick gives her every time she hears his name. The man makes her want things she swore she would not have till she made it to the top. But now she has to trust him with her life and them maybe her heart.

I really hated putting this book down it was that fantastic. I'm a reader that tends to work out the twist and the Who Did It early but not this time. It kept me wondering the whole time. I love a book like this and I really recommend it to Romance lovers. But don't forget to read the first 4 books they are stand alones but they flow so well so it's better to read in order.

This is not my first Catherine Bybee read... I really enjoyed "Not Quite Enough" from her Not Quite series. Talented writer without a doubt... her writing is engaging and the characters and story in both books I've now read are well developed.
I agreed to review "Taken by Tuesday" even though I haven't read the previous books in the series... was told it could be read as a stand alone. After reading though, I think it would have been more enjoyable and engaging to have started with book one. I did enjoy this one but would like to go back at some point and get caught up from the beginning.
This book is part Contemporary Romance and part Romantic Suspense... and, I love an author that puts a little something more into their romances to keep us on our toes. I like a little more substance in my romances and this author does it well.
Very likable couple with excellent chemistry! There is a nice progression to the romance since they met somewhere earlier in the series. Judy is a smart, strong character and well, Rick is an EX-MARINE so... that's an appealing quality for me all day long. I love me a good 'ole military hero!
There was one scene at the end of the book involving that kind of freaked me out a bit... but, hey it is romantic suspense and the guy was a crazy stalker so there ya' go...
I definitely have Catherine Bybee on my radar... looking forward to reading more of her work.

I won an ARC in a FB contest - but with no promise of a review - this is my own effort.
"Taken by Tuesday" is another great read from "The Weekday Brides" series and picks up on the attraction between Judy and Rick which was hinted in the previous book, "Single by Saturday" (which remains my personal favorite of the series). Although this book can stand alone, it does mention nearly all (if not all) of the characters from the previous four books, and weighs a bit heavily on their stories, so I would recommend for most readers to save this one until reading the others, if only to enhance the story with the full background.
Having read all of "The Weekday Brides" series, I do recommend them! Why? Because they are not simple boy-meets-girl romances - each book has an interesting secondary plot and "Taken by Tuesday" does not disappoint with a dangerous stalker that has targeted Judy, and a handsome bodyguard trying to protect her.
I loved the flirting and the banter between Rick & Judy as they each try to avoid the inevitable relationship for their personal reasons. How the author, Catherine Bybee, incorporates her "Weekday Bride" theme into this book is brilliant.
This is a great read and I give it a "highly recommend"!

I am totally in love with Catherine Bybee's Workday Brides series. This isn't your average romance novel. These books deliver a good helping of romantic suspense. Taken By Tuesday tells Judy's story. If you've read Single By Saturday, you'll remember Judy. If you didn't, not to worry, these books can be read as stand alone novels.
Judy is living in her brother Michael's home in Beverly Hills until she can score a job after graduation. Michael is a big name Hollywood actor. So some protection is needed from the paparazzi.
Rick is part of his security. For some reason, he reminds me a bit of Ranger from the Stephanie Plum novels. Maybe its because he's always calling Judy babe. Whatever way you see him, he's smokin' hot. I wouldn't mind him being part of my security detail, if I had one.
Things actually progress a bit slowly. There's a lot of chemistry between the two of them, but from the start of the novel until the time when the real action takes place is a bit more drawn out then in the other books.
After that, things start moving along a bit faster. I have to say, the crazy who was after Judy surprised me a bit. I won't spoil it for you, but it definitely is an unexpected twist in the plot.
A great read for those of us that like a little more than just a sexy read.

I really enjoyed this book. there was suspense, action that had me on the edge of my seat, romance and love, a big happy family, and a sick twisted man.

Judy and her friend Meg had just graduated from college. Judy's brother was a movie star. He knew he wouldn't be living in his house for months. He offered to let Judy, and Meg move in.

Rick worked security for Judy's brother. Rick had been attracted to Judy for years. He was excited that she was moving to California.

He became Judy's personal body guard. When Judy was attacked he vowed he would find out who hurt her. The police was no help at all during the investigation. Their only suspect just happen to be Rick. They viewed the crime as it had to be someone Judy knew. How could he protect Judy from a jail cell? The only person that makes Judy feel safe and secure is suddenly being arrested for attacking her!!! She wants to yell and scream at the police for arresting the wrong guy.

You'll have to read and find out what happens. The twist and turns of this story is great! This book is another one that is going on my favorites list!

Copy received via Netgalley in return for an honest review.

I have read all the other books in this series and I have to say this one was one of my favourites. It can be read as a standalone, as can all the others, but knowing all their back stories helps.

Mentally screaming at your kindle when the plot takes a turn you don't expect doesn't help when you are trying to work out a whodunit plot whilst hoping and.waiting for the main characters to hook up!

A great action storyline with movie stars and our ever loyal ex Marine Corps bodyguards.

Now books 6 & 7 .....Meg needs a HEA and so does Michael.

Judy and Rick have an undeniable chemistry that began in the previous book in this series. That book is not necessary to read prior to this one, but would be helpful for a new reader to understand these characters backgrounds better. Since the whole series has been enjoyable, I’d recommend just going back to the first book and working your way through to this one, I promise you’ll get through them in no time.

The story and the characters are well crafted, and the hint of mystery helps keep the book moving. Anyone who loves Contemporary Romance will love this book.

Another incredible book in this series! Judy and Rick have a chemistry that just explodes from the pages but Judy is determined to ignore it and not let her professional goals be derailed. When events prove Judy is in danger the only person who can make her feel safe is Rick. This is a fantastic story with twists, turns, and suspense that keeps you glued to the pages until the very end. I recommend this book and this entire series to everyone!

The last two thirds of this book had plenty of exciting action with main characters that were smart and honest but the romantic buildup at the beginning seemed like high school and I nearly gave up. I peaked ahead 100 pages and the story was quite different so I continued and glad I did. Recent graduate Judy moves to her brothers house and is attracted to one of his bodyguards, Rick.

4,5* gostei, gostei e gostei :D

(sim estou me contradizer, é da idade)

Boas leituras!
