Despite having used Windows Vista for seven years, I still did not know a bunch of handy things about it. Reading this book enabled me to improve several aspects of my computer use. As I write this, Windows Vista has two years left before Microsoft kills it, so I might as well make the best of them, while figuring out Windows 8.1 and then Windows 10.

Given all the time many of us spend using our computers, and the less-than-apparent complexity they contain, a person can never read too many computer books. Getting through this one from start to finish was difficult, due to the length, and the increasingly dry boring technical detail toward the end, but that's normal for books of this type (operating system overviews).

I just bought this yesterday. It's about 3" thick. I'm not sure if I'll read the whole thing but it will make a great reference book. There is also a CD with it.
