I picked this up from an op shop on a whim and actually quite enjoyed it. It's the story of two alien planets knocked out of their original orbits by a comet. Once is frozen and inhospitable with people to match and the other inhabited an all-female race of winged humanoids.

As always I liked the imaginative exploration of alien environments and cultures. I was a little confused as to why travelling between two different planets in the same solar system seemed to involve passing through a parallel universe on the way, but the semi-living ships were kind of cool.

I'm a little disappointed to discover that this series was not actually continued.

A lovely walk down memory lane for me. Adventure and mystery and intrigue, with a couple of closely connected all-female cultures, what's not to love?
