Leo may be one of the best goaltenders in the minor hockey league, but he has one chink in his armor—Dern. A forward from Leo’s rival team, the two of them get along like fire and paper. Leo lives to stop Dern from scoring, and Dern relishes in getting a puck past Leo.
Then one night while Leo is out clubbing, he runs into Dern. Instead of squabbling, the two of them of end up heating up the sheets. But is it just a one-night stand? And if not, do the two of them have a chance of changing from enemies to lovers?

Similar to the others in the Blue Line Hockey series, there is nothing too heavy here, just a quick, light, fluffy M/M romance with a HEA. It doesn't claim to be anything more than that and it really isn't. If you are a fan of the series and/or a hockey fan, you really do have to read all of these.
Minor hockey league Goalie, Leo and Forward, Dern Zimmerman were sworn enemies on and off the ice. That is until one night when they ran into each other while out at a club.
Stephani Hecht did a get job developing the characters in this short story. The characters went through the metamorphosis from being enemies, to lovers. They had to deal with prejudices. Openly homosexual, Leo feared for Dern who was in the closet and how he would be accepted by everyone if he admitted he was gay. Dern never wanted to come out until he started having feeling for Leo and began tiring of not being himself.
I enjoyed this book and the characters. I felt sympathy for the challenges they had to face as well as joy that they found each other. This is a powerful story that conveys a lot of emotions.
I like that previous Blue Line Hockey Series characters make an appearance in this book, especially Trey since he is probably my favorite character in the series.
The hockey scenes are written well. It is easy to visualize what is happening on the ice.

It was very cute. I liked the characters and it was a very easy read - no thinking required. It was a tiny bit unrealistic but *shrugs* 2.4 stars
*2nd read* 18/11/16 It was just as cute and fluffy as I remembered it, the characters were well-written and the story progressed nicely. I liked it a bit more the second time around, and I think it deserved a higher rating. 2.8 stars* * that means that the two ratings together give it an average rating of 2.6 stars.
Quick, light read, nothing too deep and heavy. Have read the whole series and whilst each book is standalone, they probably would seem a bit odd and disjointed if you haven't followed the series.
13.12.20 reread : 6 years since I read this series! I do want more now from a story but for a quick read it was enjoyable again
