Wolf and Fallyn have a history. It is a very complicated, painful history. Wolf and Fallyn's brother were best friends, with Fallyn being a welcome tag along. That was years ago. After a tragic accident, Wolf and Fallyn have nothing to do with each other.
Now, though, Fallyn finds herself in a major bind. She's got to pay for her semester in school, or she's gonna be dropped. What's something that could make her a lot of money really fast?
While they've been estranged all these years they're together at the same college. Wolf decides it's time to get back to where they were years ago. The problem is that Fallyn isn't interested in going back there.
Throughout the story, it's explained how close Fallyn and Wolf used to be. And it's heartbreaking to see how much time and distance is between them. But I really enjoyed Wolf's pursuit in getting back to the way they were. I wasn't expecting his devotion, but when we got a major suprise, i was really pleased. There's, of course, the old issues, but wouldn't ya know some new ones pop up as well.
After all these years, Wolf Westerville has done the unthinkable. Within a matter of weeks, he’s managed to chip away at my defenses, and I have no idea how long it’ll be before he obliterates what’s left of them. What I do know is that it’s scary as hell.
Wolf Vesterville. The former best friend of Fallyn’s now deceased brother. The one who was driving the car in the accident in which he died. The hockey superstar. He cannot stop thinking about her and he is determined to find a way to insert himself into her life again.
How can I allow another man to touch her? To be the first to claim her? The simple answer is that I can’t. It’s not a question in my head. Fallyn DiMarco belongs to me. She’s always belonged to me. Whether she understands it or not.
Fallyn DiMarco. Her whole life turned upside down during one night. She blames Wolf for the accident and has avoided him since. After five years, their paths cross again. Will she hold onto her grudge despite his best efforts?
It’s impossible to believe that there was a time when I was drawn to him, couldn’t get close enough, wanted to bask in his presence 24/ 7. Now the opposite is true. Or maybe I only wish that were the case.
First of all, I have to admit that I liked Love You Never (Carina and Ford’s book) way more than this one. This book had an interesting storyline but I think the execution was off and the potential was wasted on a boring-ish story.
Even though I am not a fan of third-act break-ups, I still think a good book needs some kind of drama in the last 30% and this book was majorly lacking in drama. Instead, the happy end came pretty early on and it was smooth sailing ever since.
Secondly, this was supposed to be a hockey romance but pretty much the only relation in which hockey was mentioned was when describing Wolf’s status at the school and the reason for his popularity. I think hockey games were mentioned twice: once when Fallyn was working and the game was on during her shift and once when she attended a game. In my opinion, a hockey romance needs to have hockey as a more central element to qualify as a hockey romance.
As much as I hate the thought of being forced into selling my virginity, this decision makes the most sense. It’ll do the impossible and buy me some peace of mind.
Thirdly, the book began in a weird af way when Fallyn could not afford tuition due to the sudden financial troubles of her family. Wolf’s family was the cause of it and the animosity between the two was present immediately but there was never any good explanation for it.
I would have preferred more background knowledge onto the accident than what we got. Now, the information was revealed little by little which made Fallyn and Wolf’s relationship a bit confusing. If there would have been more backstory on their relationship and the accident, their current relationship would have made a lot more sense.
Also, Fallyn’s idea to pay for her tuition was to sell her virginity. The idea came super off the left field and made the beginning of the book just weird. I like the idea that Wolf ended up buying it and how the whole thing panned out but I think the transition into the decision and Fallyn’s inner struggle with it would have needed to be more thoroughly and smoothly explained.
Whether she’s aware of it or not, we’re still connected. There will never be a day when that’s not true.
Finally, I am an avid lover of smut and its absence was definitely notable in this book. The smut in Love You Never was a lot better and more frequent as well. Also, there were some words that were used in the spicy scenes that just gave me the ick and that’s hard to get over.
Argh. The last thing I need is Colby McNichols, manwhore extraordinaire, messing with one of my friends.
Immediately, when they met, I knew the next book was about Colby and Britt. I just know there is so much more to dig into regarding her hatred for hockey players and I just know Cody is tenacious (and cocky) enough to keep pursuing her until he powers through her defenses.
Especially knowing their book will be Vegas and accidental marriage, I cannot wait for it!
I received an ARC of Never Mine to Hold in exchange for an honest review
This is Book 3 of the Western Wildcats Hockey Series.
I was lucky enough to receive as an ARC.
Never Mine to Hold is a rollercoaster of emotions, second chances, and the struggles of finding oneself amid life's unexpected challenges. The story revolves around Wolf Westerville and the complexities of a past that shattered dreams and a present that demands tough choices. The narrative brilliantly weaves between the past and the present, giving readers a glimpse into the characters' history and the impact of unforeseen events. The writing is emotionally charged, and the author tackles sensitive subjects with both grace and honesty.
Wolf, now a star goaltender with NHL dreams, and the protagonist, facing financial hardship and tough decisions, are intricately crafted characters. The tension between them is palpable, and Sucevic skilfully navigates their reconnection, making it feel raw, genuine, and fraught with both passion and pain.
The story's backdrop of college life and the challenges faced by the characters adds a layer of realism, making the plot relatable to a wide audience. The theme of resilience and self-discovery is portrayed beautifully as the characters navigate their way through adversity.
The pacing is well-executed, keeping the reader engaged and invested in the characters' journey. The emotional stakes are high, especially with the protagonist's decision to sell her virginity to secure her future. Sucevic handles this delicate subject matter with sensitivity, shedding light on the sacrifices people make when pushed to their limits.
Never Mine to Hold is a compelling read that explores the complexities of love, sacrifice, and the unpredictable nature of life. Jennifer Sucevic delivers a story that tugs at the heartstrings and leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy emotionally charged contemporary romance with depth and authenticity.
I stand by the fact that the dirtiest hockey boyfriends are always the goalies 👀 and Wolf sure fits the category.
After tragically losing her brother when she was younger, Fallyn has had to pick herself up time and time again due to the grief she is still dealing with. Due to the accident, she also lost her friend and her brothers best friend in the mix, due to her parents blaming him for her brothers death. Fallyn has tried to move on with her life, however Wolf has just taken a step back into her life because her parents just lost everything because of his parents sabotage. Fallyn has now been put in a place to sell the one thing she has, that men just might give her a lot of money for. Fallyn has always been drawn to Wolf, even as kids, but will everyone accept them after all they’ve been through? Will she be willing to accept him even after what he did to her brother?
Wolf has always had eyes on Fallyn, even if her and her parents blocked him out of their life after blaming him for Miles’ death. He has kept her at arms length, because that’s what she needed from him. However, when he overhears her talking about her needing money and they way she plans to do it. Wolf puts himself in the position to help her with her needs, but with a special requests that she doesn’t know who he is. Wolf would do anything for Fallyn, but now that he’s gotten a taste of her, there is no letting her go. He just has to prove to her that the future is brighter than what happened to them in the past.
Jennifer just knows how to write a good freaking story. She just knows how to give the dirty, forbidden spice to each of her characters every single time. Another 5 star read from her and you know what I always say… cannot wait for the next one 🥵
This was an odd one for me to review. One on hand, we had selling her V-Card to stay in college, unknowingly to the guy (who was a family friend until tragedy struck) who is now her enemy.
The v-card aspect seemed very dark, mafia type vibe but this is new adult, so it seemed a bit off, but it was what put them in the same path as each other.
There was also this deeper storyline of grief and loss and moving on. This part I really loved, seeing the couple work through it. I also enjoyed the unexpected revelation about the H.
Book 2 of the series is still my fave, but this was a good listen.
I have read many books and loved many book boyfriends but Wolf…no one tops Wolf! The lengths this man went to…..WOW! He spared no expense and didn’t care what people thought or said. His heart belong to Fallyn and hers to him. My goodness this story was so emotional but so good. I couldn’t stop reading.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with these two but this turn of events. The twists and turns omg I loved it all. Loved that the broody bad boy wasn’t what he seemed! And now I must go buy my husband romance books hahaha!
How desperate would you have to be to sell something as personal as your V-Card? Welp... Fallyn is about to find out! Her parents' inability to cover her college expenses with no notice leaves her on the hook to cover her tuition, room/board, ... all things she's never had to consider before. And she's not interested in heading back home, even if that means putting some distance between her and her FORMER childhood friend: Wolff Westerville. 5 years isn't enough time to heal the wounds of their past.
I love heading back to a series. I love reconnecting with characters I've loved and diving a bit deeper into the new couple's lives. I love sneaking around the world an author has created, especially when that world is as rich and comforting as Sucevic's Wildcats series. So when I realized that 1) she had two novellas out I hadn't read yet and 2) there was a chance for ARC reading Never Mine to Hold... I jumped on all of them! I binged her novellas (Dare You to Love Me & Always My Girl) after reading this one-- you can go either way, but know that those MC-couples make appearances in this book.
ARC reading this book had me on my tiptoes the whole time. I mean, like even as I sat in my comfiest chair, my feet would fly to the ground fast AF and then the intrigue and tension would have me curling my toes in suspense.
Well, not just in suspense! The spice SPICED with this book. It takes a bit to get there as it is a slow burn of former childhood friends with a painful history. Honestly, I loved that Sucevic didn't gloss over their past and act like everything can be fine and healed without the hard conversations. But also... she gave us SP{C3! The hotel room scenes will have you pulling at your shirt collars, biting your lips, and crossing/uncrossing your thighs. (It can't just be me). This story about what it can be like to lose your V-Card isn't simple or easy. But Jennifer did was she does and gave us the most incredible STORY. Not on top of or in leiu of spice, but the way she combined them is ... 👩🍳😘🤏!
*** Yes, this book was given to me for an honest review. But I HONESTLY loved this book.
Never Mine to Hold by Jennifer Sucevic 🖤 Western Wildcats Hockey, Book 3 Interconnected Standalone

🏒 sports romance 🚘 friends to enemies to lovers 🏒 boy obsessed 🚘 virg*nity for sale 🏒 college romance 🚘 dual POV 🏒 no third act breakup 🚘 HEA
📍 “She’s like the sun, and I just want to soak in her warmth even though none of it is directed my way.”
We were told to be scared of the big bad wolf. But this Wolf is not scary at all. And if this is what bad looks like, please do sign me up. I’m pretty sure normal people find things like roses and chocolates romantic. But for me… it’s the crazy things Wolf does that have me swooning on the spot. Is it really a red flag if the inside is green? 👀
📍 “After years spent apart, our worlds have once again collided. And I’m not about to let her go. Not for a second time. Not ever.”
We’ve met Fallyn and Wolf before. We also saw a certain song being sang a la serenade and — maybe it’s just me — I was an absolute goner for these two from that moment on. Did they deliver?! Glad you asked. They fudging DID! They were goals in ways I didn’t know I needed. Two halves of a broken heart 🥹
📍 “Make no mistake, Fallyn. You belong to me now just like you belonged to me then. You will always be mine.”
Boy obsessed is just a whole other league of its own. And I’m here for all of it 😎
When Fallyn's dad looses his job and can no longer afford to pay her tuition she is desperate to do whatever it is she can to make sure she doesn't have to drop out and move back home. When Wolf overhears that she is willing to sell her V-card he is on a mission to do what he can to protect the girl he has always loved to make sure she doesn't do something she regrets.
I was a little worried about this one and how it would play out. I really didn't want to think that Wolf was creepy but I knew I shouldn't have doubted him. He was perfection. I adored him and it was evident how much he adored Fallyn. I really enjoyed their story and how it all played out. I couldn't put this one down, I needed to know how their story played out. If adulting didn't get in the way I would have finished this one in one day.
I like this one a lot better than the second one. No third act break up, thank god. The last like 20% did feel super rushed though, and there definitely could have been more depth and detail in that part, but it was still good.
Fallyn’s life is falling apart. She keeps seeing the boy who ruined her life, her parents can’t afford to pay her tuition and the only way to stay at college is to sell her V card. If she doesn’t she’ll be forced to drop out and move back home. Selling her V card seems like the only option.
When Wolf overhears Fallyn talking about this, he is determined to help her. What will happen when these two enemies collide?
Fallyn and Wolf have a complicated and tragic history, and have had no contact since that tragic event 5 years ago. When he comes back into her life, she wants nothing to do with him but he is persistent. It is Wolf’s love and devotion that is truly the winning step in this story. He sees it all very clearly, he’s always wanted her and only her.
It is a beautiful story of love, loss, tragedy, strength and courage to move on with a life joy.
This is a book that I did NOT want to end! Of course I was a blubbering mess at the end of this one, because - excuse me, ma'am, Jennifer? That ending?? Are you kidding me???? I'm not crying, I'm balling my flipping eyes out. It was BEAUTIFUL! Wolf and Fallyn are beautiful; their story is heartbreaking, sweet and beautiful - it was just... I love these two like crazy!
Now let me rein in my gushing and sporadic thoughts and give you something more sensible. This is book #3 in the Western Wildcats Hockey series, and to say that I loved the first two stories would be a major understatement. Book #2, Carina and Ford? Well, in my review of that book I made a very, very bold statement: since I first started reading Jennifer's books I fell in love with one story in particular, that of Brooke and Crosby. I love them beyond anything else. And after reading Ford and Carina's story, I made the bold claim that they might just have ousted Brooke and Crosby and taken over the #1 spot. Well, I can't believe this, but.... *sigh* .... Wolf and Fallyn? They are the entire flipping package! They have not just ousted Carina and Ford, but they have come in guns-a-blazin' and taken over my #1 favorite Jennifer Sucevic character / story spot. Congratulations!
Wolf and Fallyn are such interesting characters, and their story has many layers to it. And as Jennifer unravels each layer and reveals secrets and plot twists, phewww. There's so much. I loved everything about it. Fallyn is kind of at a coming-of-age moment in learning about herself, taking care of herself in more ways than one but primarily realizing that she needs to be the keeper of her own happiness and in order to do that, she needs to set boundaries and allow herself to grieve - and let go. She is coming to terms with being ok allowing herself to live, despite what has happened. Meanwhile, Wolf... wow. Wolf. Now here is my new favorite MMC crush! This guy! The goalie of the Western Wildcats, the tall and built, tatted, sweet and considerate yet possessive.... I mean, Jennifer - ma'am - could you have written a more perfect specimen??? *blots sweat from brow and fans herself off* And as the layers of Wolf get revealed... I. Am. There. For. Every. Single. One. Of. Them! ... I want to gush so bad about him, but I can't without giving away plot twists and Wolf secrets / traits, and I can't do that - but just know, this MMC is my new favorite in a long-long time!
Now, I will tell you this: I have read every-single Jennifer Sucevic book. I tell you that because she is the only author who I read that I am so desperate for more of her words that I constantly catch myself jumping ahead because I am so impatient to get more words and find out what happens. This story was absolutely no different! But with this story I also HATED when it ended!!!! I was not ready for it to end. I wanted - nay, NEEDED so much more of these two!
But this book also had me so emotional - in the last act? I was balling my eyes out!!!! I was expecting a big blowup, I was expecting a third act breakup, I was expecting lots of hurt and tears (from the characters), but instead what I got were my own tears over how the third act played out. And I loved how it played out!!! In fact, I much prefer how it played out over what I was expecting. But that ending, giiiiiiiirl! You made me cry, like hiccup-cry! And then I wanted to cry all over again when it was done.... and here I sit, in a book slump, missing Wolf and Fallyn and their story - unwilling to move on quite yet.... *sigh. Jennifer, could you just write another book with Wolf and Fallyn? Just more of them? Pleaseeeeeeee.
This follows Wolf and Fallyn. These two have a very tragic history. Wolf was best friends with Fallyn's brother and the three of them were always together. One night they are in a car accident while Wolf is driving, and it results in the loss of her brother. It tears them a part and Fallyn spends the new few years blaming him and hating him for it.
Her family has come across some hard times and are struggling financially. They cannot continue to pay for her schooling, and she's devastated. Instead of leaving college she results in selling her v*rginity to cover the costs and stay in school. She also gets a job to help cover as much of her bills as possible. Wolf finds out about her plan and makes certain that he's the one that she loses it to. It's set up so she won't know it's him. Along with that he finds a way to get her to let him drive her to and from her job so he can get close to her and hopefully change her mind about her hatred towards him. I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I have left quite a bit out, but trust me...it sounds worse than it is. I was skeptical and worried about how it would play out. It sounds like a terrible decision for him to make and like something that would ultimately blow up, not to mention sounds questionable in general. But it works out beautifully. I not only ate up every page of this book, but I fell in love with Wolf. HARD. The grief that these two share is heartbreaking. Seeing her parents struggling so much made me tear up. It's a heavier topic but the book never felt overly heavy to me. It is more about healing, forgiving, and moving forward than anything else. And Wolf was the anchor for that. He's dedicated, loyal, persistent, possessive, protective, and swoon worthy. Everything you could want honestly.
I devoured this book and I'm so excited for the next one in the series!
I hate flash backs, but I feel like this book might have benefited going from past to present to see how the main couple relationship progresses, how it fell apart, and then how they came back together.
We get some background info on how they fell apart, but that’s it😭 Its like “oh, it’s all your fault” “this wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for you”
And then they explain what happened in conversations, and it’s just feels so…..flat
Like I wish we would have found out what happened in the form of flashbacks that would have engaged me more and gave me more motivation to finish it sooner because I was DRAGGING through this book
And to speak on how I felt like it was moving too fast, they got married at the end of the book😭 Like what? They haven’t seen each other in years, spend some weeks together and realize they were always meant to be together and they get married I audibly groaned when he proposed to her, like SLOW DOWN, give your relationship some time
And I get that he’s been in love with her for years, and that “It’s always going to be her” crap, but jeez can we get a little background
That’s why I think this story could have really been better if there were flashbacks to show why he was in love with her, when it started, their relationship when they were younger, etc.
Overall it’s not a bad book, it’s just that there could have been a little bit MORE
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Well, I think I found my next book boyfriend and his name is Wolf. This has got to be the best book yet by this author that I've read. This story had so much depth and heartache. She did a great job at making me understand the hate, heartbreak, and heat.
Fallyn has been through so much with losing her brother Miles shortly before she turned 16. Her family in turn blaiming Miles best friend, and Fallyn's first love, Wolf. Not only for Miles death, but Wolf's family for all their heartache. Once her dad is forced out of the company, he part owned. Fallyn has learned that there is no more money to pay for her next semester at Western University during junior year. Trying to get her to come home from college and take a year off. Which is the last thing Fallyn wants, because her family can be a bit smothering now. Leaving her to sell the only thing she truly has of any worth. Her V-card. The only reason she has never been with anyone is from the jagged raised scar from the accident she was in with them. Thinking it makes her ugly, and she's very self-conscious of it.
Wolf is every bit of broody and good-looking as he sounds. I ate him up! Covered in tattoos and is the goalie of the Western Wildcats hockey team. He's in his senior year there. He follows Fallyn into student services one day, wondering why she's there. What he overhears is her having a conversation with another student about selling her V-card. Fallyn is the only girl that Wolf has ever loved. He knows that she hates him and blames him for her brother's death, but can't stand the fact that she needs money and the thought of anyone else taking her virginity. So he agrees to buy it anonymously and pay the slightly ridiculous price. He has two rules, though. One, she has to be willing to be blindfolded and two willing to meet him 3 different times. At the end of each time, deposit 10K into her account. Which she agrees.
They end up becoming close again on their own accord, even though he still meets her anonymously those 3 visits. Fallyn also ends up taking a job at Slap Shots, a sports bar for money, as well. She agrees to let him drive her back and forth in agreement that he teaches her to drive. Once Wolf gets back involved in her life, they have this magnetic pull towards each other. He makes her feel alive again and comes to learn the truth about why he wasn't there for her when she needed him most. He also learned that her hate wasn't because she didn't want to see him all those years ago. Fallyn is shocked by the truth but doesn't find it that far-fetched.
Does Wolf end up taking her virginity anonymously? No, I will say that. But maybe there is another secret he's been keeping from her. Boy, was I shocked to sh!t when I learned it. I loved Wolf's dirty mouth. It rates up there with the best. Plus, how he learned a lot about how to pleasure a girl from reading dirty books. Brought joy to my heart that a boy for once read smut. Wolf is what I want in a boyfriend. Tall, broody, tattooed, good-looking, possessive hockey player... yes, please.
I received this book as an Advance Readers Copy, and I want to thank the author for this one. I loved and enjoyed every second of it. This is my honest opinion.

Jennifer Sucevic is back with another release fromWestern Wildcats Hockeyseries. Never Mine to Holdcomes in as the third interconnected Standalone, following the story of once former childhood friends Fallyn DiMarco and hockey superstar goaltender Wolf Westerville, through the sharing of dual POVs.
After reading Fallon and Wolf’s story it can be said they are definitely my favourite couple ofWestern Wildcats Hockeyseries. There was just something about them that me hooked, particularly when it came to reading their story, something that was different due to the subplots that connected together and made up the storyline what it was.
When it came to the narrative, there was a lot to take in given the history shared between Fallyn and Wolf. It was what allowed us to see greater development as the story progressed, since not only were we able to get insight into their back story, but also learn how it affected them both in their present lives. Eventually leading to a lot of growth to be showcased through the characters and the storyline.
The emotions and feelings journey just kept on coming with author Jennifer making it feel like it was never endless. And yet it was truly enjoyable to me very much. It added depth to the storyline from the outpour of emotions as well as to the character development of Fallyn and Wolf, when you took into consideration all that they endured, suffered through and still continued to face. Which Jennifer made very clear through their personal inner monologue that allowed us to see into their minds and get a deeper understanding of Fallyn and Wolf and their journeys, both individually and as a couple upon their steps of building a relationship.
From the highs and lows to the ups and downs, alongside some twists, Jennifer had you riding one heck of a rollercoaster that ended up being Fallon and Wolf’s story. Especially when you compare it to the previous stories from the series IMO.
There was one critique to be had and that was the quickness of some of the resolvement between Fallyn’s family and WolfIMO. In all honesty it would’ve been nice to see it play out more and that too on page, ensuring us the readers to better acknowledge and accept it.
Talk about a truly beautiful, emotionally deep and moving story. Jennifer Sucevic came through with a delivery of a wonderful engaging, well developed, incredible story worthy of such amazing characters Fallyn and Wolf. Highly recommend checking outNever Mine to Hold, especially if you enjoy Sports Romance with deep feels and high angst. It will do you no wrong. After this and the sneak peek, Colby’s story could not come fast enough.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
4⭐️ 3🌶️ This is my 2nd Jennifer Sucevic book, and book 5 of the Western Wildcats hockey series (There are 9 books and I’m reading out of order). These books have couples you’ll love, great spice, and you’ll fly through them.
Fallyn and Wolf have known each other since they were kids. They now go to the same college but Fallyn avoids Wolf because she hates him/blames him for an accident 5 years ago that took her brother. She also was in the accident and has a big scar from it that she doesn’t let anyone see.
Fallyn’s parents are struggling, so she has to get a job to pay for her last semester of tuition. She gets a waitressing job at Slap Shotz - the last place she wants to work because the hockey team comes in after their games, so she has to see Wolf. In addition, she doesn’t drive, so he offers to drive her to and from work. During these drives/time together, she starts to let down her walls, realizing it wasn’t his fault, and that it’s not healthy to hold onto this hate/resentment. Wolf even stays until her shifts end at 2am to drive her home. He is protective, sweet (he kisses her scar=swoon), and possessive. ❤️ Did I mention he has a dirty mouth and loves to eat? 🥵🫠👏🏻

One of my all-time favourite sports romance authors, I will never get enough of Jennifer's writing! I've read a few of hers now and I've loved every one of them, they're always different. These main characters have a past. The beginning of the story feeds us bread crumbs, and we're aware that something happened in the past that caused this rift between them. Fallyn is in a bind and is doing the only thing she can to pay her college tuition. Jennifer manages to create characters that are believable and come alive on the page. You feel every one of their emotions. Granted, certain things you wouldn't imagine happening, but the feelings and emotions and everything they go through is believable. I like the tension between Fallyn and Wolf, there is a good build up in the beginning, so you know it's going to make for some angsty writing! Lord I could almost feel Fallyn's pain! And Wolf's. These two have gone through so much. I love the way Jennifer uses her words to evoke such strong emotions. While this was sad and heartbreaking at times, it was also beautiful. I feel like this was written a little differently to the previous Wildcats books and I absolutely loved it. If I already didn't love wolf, he certainly won me over when he made a decision, not knowing if Fallyn would hate him once he made it. You will know it when you come to it! He showed just how serious he was about her and it just added to his character. There was never any doubt these two were meant to be and I loved that they both got to experience things together. As always, you can't help but love the characters. You laugh with them, you cry with them. I'm so glad they found their way back to each other. This book shows how grief can affect people in different ways, and how it's not so easy to move past it. There was some really good messages in this book and I cannot recommend it enough! Another amazing book by an amazing author! I highly recommend this to any lovers of sports romance, friends-to-enemies-to-lovers this has been a great series so far! Thank you!
Never Mine to Hold: An Enemies-to-Lovers Secret Identity New Adult Sports Romance (Western Wildcats Hockey Book 3) by Jennifer Sucevic is an entirely unexpected hockey romance. Due to a terrible accident that took the life of one teen, two families are torn apart, and the two teens who survived are caught in the fallout. Fallyn DiMarco discovers that her college tuition bill is due now, and she is willing to do just about anything to avoid returning home where her parents are steeped in grief and living a stagnated life. On a visit to the financial aid office when Fallyn hears someone declare, "What am I to do? Sell my virginity to pay my bill?" (location 217). As scary as it sounds, Fallyn allows her friend to help her sell her V-card online for megabucks ranging in the thousands. Meanwhile, she finds a job at a sports bar to make more money. As the story unfolds, one learns how Wolf has always pined away for Fallyn and felt he was in love with her before the accident destroyed their lives. Family interference and secrets that warp and damage lives unravel as Fallyn and Wolf begin to talk and spend time together! The revelations, twists, and turns never ceased to surprise me as I read about who was paying Fallyn for her V-Card. Oh, yes, I was shocked! OMG! This book is not what I expected! I can't say that enough, as I do not read the trope involving auctions. Never Mine to Hold is an emotional roller coaster, with Wolf falling first. Fallyn uncovers lies, discovers truths, faces her fears, and falls in love. Jennifer Sucevic's sports romances always end in a HEA, which is good news for all die-hard romantics. I found my reading niche in Jennifer Sucevic's sports romance, whether it's a football or hockey story.
Okay, buckle up because "Never Mine to Hold" took me on an emotional rollercoaster that I'm still recovering from. The chemistry between Wolf and Fallyn? SO HOT. Even when they were at odds, you could sense the weight of their shared history, making it hard for them to express what they truly felt.
Oh boy, Wolf—what an endearing character! The more I read, the harder it was not to fall head over heels for him. At first, the whole idea of Wolf buying Fallyn's v-card raised my hackles, but as the charade unfolded and secrets were revealed, I was absolutely hooked. Fallyn's life has been under a microscope due to the loss of her brother thus resulting in overbearing parents, and her family's financial struggles (due to Wolf's family), painted a heartbreaking picture honestly. The grief they share is palpable, and witnessing her parents' struggle hit me right in the feels even when I struggled to like them.
This book touches on heavier topics, but it never felt overwhelming. It's a narrative of healing, forgiveness, and moving forward, with Wolf emerging as the anchor for it all. Dedicated, loyal, persistent, possessive, protective—Wolf is the literally the whole package and Fallyn knows it which made this all the more enjoyable. I devoured every page, and I'm practically buzzing with excitement for the next installment in the series. If you're into emotional, spicy reads, this one's a must!
Hate to love, absolute page turner! Wolf Westerville; he was Fallyn’s older brother Miles’ best friend and the three of them were thick as thieves when they were younger, but a car accident, on a snowy night, a month before Fallyn’s sixteenth birthday changed everything, putting Fallyn in hospital and killing her brother, Wolf was driving. Five years on and Fallyn and her parents have not moved on from Miles’ death, their grief as great now as it was then and the hatred of the person they blame palpable. For Wolf, he not only lost his best friend, he lost the girl he secretly loved since he was 13, the hole in his life as tangible as that of Fallyn’s. But he’s done ignoring her, it’s time she came to terms with her grief even if the waves of hatred rolling off her as she smacks him, twice, when she comes across him on campus, is how it’s going to be. Overhearing a conversation about her offering to sell her virginity to ease the financial difficulties she is facing, has Wolf coming up with a plan to force his way back into her life. This was well written and easy to read as these likeable and complex characters went through a gamut of emotions, from hate to resignation, lust to love, as they fought to get back to who they were to each other prior to the accident. There were some not so small hurdles to overcome along the way, but Wolf’s love and determination to make her his never wavered. A great addition to the Western Wildcats series!
This one had me in all the feels with Wolf and Fallyn. Yes, these two were thick as thieves growing up he wasn't just her brother’s best friend but hers as well. With one tragic accident, it all changes everything between them and their families. Get ready to have a few emotional moments with these two but even more so be ready for the undeniable chemistry you can feel between the pages as you read.
If you love tension and angst this one has it in boatloads and when these two finally cross the line from tragic past to acceptance they are completely combustible. Wolf is not just perfect book boyfriend material he's got that book husband material you want at the end of the day. He's a broody, possessive, dirty talker, and with a heart that only wants one girl forever. Yes, he's swoon-worthy for sure! Fallyn went from the shy inexperienced girl who is lost in her grief to this new girl who finally accepts her feelings for the one guy she can't deny any longer. She gets her newfound courage to stand up not just for herself but for her relationship with Wolf against her parent's wishes. With the mending of their past, these two can finally see their future and get a HEA.
This book was the perfect mix of friends to enemies to lovers with a second chance. These two brought a ton of emotions and steam in this one which kept you glued to the pages. You get the most epic ending for these two. I can't wait for the next book now. Highly recommend this one if you need a book to give you all the feels!
Omg this is an absolutely amazing read. Fallyn, her brother Miles and his best friend Wolf were inseparable when they were teenagers until an accident tore them apart. Wolf was driving the car they were all in and Miles didn't survive. Five years later and Fallyn has just learnt that her tuition hasn't been paid and her parents have no way of paying it. Can she come up with the funds before she is kicked off her course? She only has one thing worth anything and that's her v-card. When Wolf hears that Fallyn is going to sell her v-card he knows that he is the only one for her. He has stayed away for years but now is the time to get back in her life. He knows that it has to be done anonymously otherwise she will walk away from him again. Fallyn was in love with Wolf before the accident and always thought that he would be her future so when he starts to get closer again will she let him. I loved the chemistry between them and it isn't long before they are inseparable but will her parents try to keep them apart again when they find out they are friends and more. Secrets are revealed and some you can't truly fathom as real but also so much love. Loved the ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Wolf Westerville is the superstar goalie for the Wildcats with the chance of going on to the NHL.
Fallyn DiMarco is 20 and has a year and a half to go before she graduates from college working toward her degree in Psychology.
Five years prior her brother died in a car accident in which Wolf was the driver. They had been best friends with Fallyn always tagging along. There were also issues between their families that tore them all apart and they haven't spoken since. Fallyn loved Wolf, he was her everything, now she just tries to steer clear of him.
When she learns her tuition wasn't paid and she has to come up with the money right away or be dropped, she makes a decision to sell her V-Card. Wolf would do anything for her, she is his breath, his life and he will protect her forever.
4.5 stars Such an emotional story. Wolf loves her and has never stopped. He's possessive but only wants the best for her and will do anything for her. Their story is learning how to go on after the death of a loved one and coming out on the other side.
Wolf and Fallyn are absolutely everything. So much Passion, Encouragement, and strength that go on throughout! Wolf is absolutely my favourite of the Wildcats so far!
So I got this one for an ARC review and first things first… These two characters have so much history, and background that creates such a strong connection. Love, love, loved it all! They are passionate, caring, possessive and are able to overcome a lot thanks to each other. Fallyn is put into a financial constraint at the start and needs to make some very significant choices. While Wolf secretly helps her, they are able to reconnect through situations and needs.
Wolf and Fallyn have been estranged for 5 years after the tragic loss of Fallyn’s older brother. But this loss is also what brings them together. Wolf is a strong, possessive, goalie who has worked hard to be as successful as he is. But there is this overarching pain, and loss. The fact that these two characters work through their grief and come out in a positive manner and together is just a small component of this one.
The wildcat series is everything and has everything you want in a sports Romance! Highly recommend it!! 💕
“Baby, you only have to look and see that you’re inked all over my body. If I couldn’t be with you, I wanted you with me.” Never Mine to Hold is book 3 of the Western Wildcats hockey series. Wolf and Fallyn have known each other forever. Wolf and Fallyn’s brother, Miles, were best friends and always let Fallyn tag along. However when tragedy struck, Wolf and Fallyn were torn apart. Now 5 years later and the two are finding themselves in all the same places.
The two have a lot to overcome in order to become friends again, let alone fall back in love. However, I was so happy for them! Wolf’s dirty talk was 🔥 and he was perfect for all of Fallyn’s firsts. I loved all the ways he protected Fallyn while they were together and even the years they were apart. “You know that I’ve always loved you, right It’s always been you, Fallyn. Always.”
I loved Wolf and Fallyn’s HEA and enjoyed all the cameos from past couples. I am so excited for Colby’s story next! Thank you @jennifersucevicauthor and @wordsmithpublicity for the ARC! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🔥: “Are you watching how nicely you take me?”
“ Fallyn DiMarco belongs to me. She’s always belonged to me. “
Wolf has officially climbed to the top of my favourite man written by Jennifer. This read was so emotional and raw that you can’t help but feel for these characters.
“ She was my everything back then. And she’s my everything now. “
Fallyn and Wolf grew up together before as tragedy tore them apart. 5 years later, they are attending the same university and Wolf is determined to be back in her life.
The last 5 years have been hard on Fallyn. She lost her brother, her family dynamic has changed and they are currently in financial ruin. Determination to stand on her own and stay in school has her thinking that her only solution is to sell her virginity.
“ I won’t be satisfied until every piece of her belongs to me. “
When Wolf hears about this, he has his own way to quietly solve her problems. The way that these two reconnect and the honest conversations that they had, had my heart hurting for these two but it was also healing.
The tender moments that they have especially during some of those spicy scenes just made me fall harder for these characters.
“Baby, you only have to look and see that you’re inked all over my body. If I couldn’t be with you, I wanted you with me.”
The journey that they take isn’t easy but their HEA was worth all the heartache for these two. Their story will live rent free in my head forever.
