This was a read-aloud for my mom, younger sister, and myself. My mom and older sister had read it several years ago and remembered it fondly. It was enjoyable to share the experience again, though it was a book that caused many stops to have conversations over what was happening. Didn't agree with everything portrayed (not relating to the courtship itself but the family dynamics/running of a household, etc.), and there were definitely some frustrating things, but again, it inspired conversation which was good.

I loved this series so much! (Jeff's book is actually probably my favorite. Or Waiting For Her Isaac) But all that to say, these books were amazing. They were inspiring and helpful and gave some wonderful perspective. It's one thing to know the way things should be and another to get to watch it played out in someone's life. I highly recommend. The formatting was a little odd in a couple places and the writing isn't the most brilliant I've read, but I think the story makes up for that. These are wonderful books, and there are guys I know who have enjoyed this series and found it helpful just as much as girls. Lovely series. I'm sad it doesn't have better reviews!

This christian fiction book shows how the beginning of a relationship could look like. Great for introducing courtship to young girls. If you want to do relationships God's way, you will love the book, if not, you will call it "not realistic", "radical" and so on.

I love this book, I read it in the span of a few hours last night and it has given me a sense of relief and hope.

I am a lot like Sarah in many ways(major perfectionist) and very different in others(not the best cook). I felt this book dealt with a lot of things I am currently going through in my life right now(longing for a husband and children, wanting to court, etc.).
I know that this is fiction, but it is still relevant to how, I believe, God wants us to live. I love the family values this book has, and how tight-knit the family is. In many ways I wish more people lived like they do without all the technology that can(and does) drive wedges into family time.

Something that really stood out to me in this book are the 3 different types of men who are all attracted to Sarah; there is the non-christian who doesn't understand her and the morals she holds value in. The christian who is a good worker, but doesn't respect the family life and has other things he still has to work through. And there is the Strong Christian, who is a good worker, has family values and a tender heart for children, and even though he has things he is working though is constantly trying to improve on and them.

I think this is a good book that every young woman should read before she begins dating or courting. The morals of this book ring true and I hope God has a young man like Luke waiting for me :)

uh....I learned some stuff about courtship but this was a totally unrealistic book. like, this girl is practically perfect and it almost seems like her family lives 150 years ago or else they are amish. Therefore, it's very hard to relate to this story. It also makes it seem like there's NO temptation whatsoever during courtship, and like I said, she is pretty much perfect. oh....and her wedding annoyed me...no pretty dress, no guests, no church! just a simple little house wedding. *YUCK* so ya, I've voiced my opinion. :) I would say there are better courtship books out there.
