As the heroes of Ruauck-El emerged triumphantly in The Orb of Truth, the first book in the Horn King series, they could not have imagined that an even greater evil still lay ahead of them.
Raina has discovered a new threat to the realm, and teleported King El'Korr - against his wishes - to the West Horn King's capital city, Tuskabar, in hopes of thwarting an evil Mystic's plan to acquire the five dragon stones. Each relic harbors an ancient dragon spirit, and, if combined, would unleash a multi-headed deity beyond imagination, to begin a reign of terror upon Ruauck-El.
Meanwhile, Bridazak and friends are in search of Spilfer Teehle's missing family. Their quest leads them to visit old enemies, travel through beautiful but deadly locations, and will ultimately take them on an adventure of new discoveries of themselves.
Each group is on their own mission, but as destiny would have it, their fates are more entwined than they could possibly know.
Internationally acclaimed author, Brae Wyckoff, brings a new depth to fantasy storytelling in The Dragon God.
Demons & Thieves is a fast-paced, riveting tale of demonic powers that bring destruction, of unconditional love that brings restoration, and of man’s ultimate choice toward one or the other. In this brilliantly crafted historical novel, master storyteller, Brae Wyckoff, weaves together the account of the two thieves on the cross and the Gerasene demoniacs in an action-packed, epic adventure that progresses across a span of twenty years against the backdrop of ancient Israel.

Brae Wyckoff is an award-winning and internationally acclaimed author, born and raised in San Diego, CA. He has been married to his beautiful wife, Jill, for over 20 years, and they have three children. He has a beautiful grandson named Avery. Brae has been an avid RPG gamer since 1985. His passion for mysterious realms and the supernatural inspired him to write The Orb of Truth, the first in a series of fantasy action adventures.
The Dragon God is book two in the Horn King series by Brae Wyckoff. It pulls you in from the very first page and keeps you hooked until the very end. In this book we follow many of the heroes of the first book including Bridazak, Dulgin, Spilf, Raina, El’Korr, Xan, and Abawken. They are all on different missions but are all drawn together once more on a mission from God. We also meet many new characters as well as new evils along the way. Will evil finally triumph, or will good win again? I have been patiently awaiting the arrival of this book for almost a year. I was drawn to this series from the first book and could not wait to read the second. I was not disappointed. It took me on yet another adventure with my favorite characters and gave me an even more in depth look at them and what made them who they were. I love how each of these characters have their own unique back stories, talents, and beliefs. These heroes make a great team. I was so engrossed in this book that time just seemed to fade away and I would only put it down in sheer exhaustion because my eyelids drooped too much to read another word coherently. I finished it in only two days. I love how the writer mixes influences from the Lord of The Rings, Dungeons and Dragons, and the word of God to create this amazing adventure. Wow, what else can I say this book honestly blew me away and I can’t wait until the next one so I can continue my adventures with my favorite characters again! I am sure the Vampire King will not disappoint either. Thank you very much for this amazing journey Wyckoff!
The Dragon God picked up right after the Orb of Truth...as with the previous edition, this book grabbed my interest from the first page...another one of those hard to put down novels...
An evil mystic is amassing five magical stones to unleash a dragon while Spilfer searches for his family.
While I enjoyed the Orb of Truth, this second novel in this series was even better than the first. With magic rocks and dwarf slaves, this is a cross between Temple of Doom and Lord of the Rings. Heads up to fans of both.
This epic adventure was full of creatures, not just elves, gnomes and dwarves, but this time there were also kelpies and pirates. Yes, pirates! And not just any pirates, but French vampire pirates! Tres cool! And the undead… Just WOW. If those weren’t enough, there were also chuulkath, beltothi, devlings and reegs. What are those? Yeah, I didn’t know either until I read this. After reading, I was excited to look them up and see just how made-up they truly are. I wish there were more descriptions on reegs but I still enjoyed them right alongside the rest of the new creatures. Of course, there were made up places, names, words and languages to go along with the new creatures. Yay!
Even though there are a host of new critters and living things, the cast of characters from the first book are all here too, of course, which is quite a considerable list. While hard to remember all of them at once, each one incredibly has depth. When presented with one, their own personality easily comes through and each is easily memorable and distinguished from the rest. Dulgin came front and center in this one, much to my delight. Love that funny little guy!
Again, like my review of the first, the writing is outstanding. It is a poetic, literary masterpiece, much like R.R. Martin but clear and easy to read, something difficult to pull off. If you’re anything like me, you might hesitate picking up and reading fantasy novels because of the inevitable complicated wordiness of the genre. Descriptive monologues? Gag me, right? Though this world is a fantasy world, it was described within the action of the story. Therefore, there were not lengthy descriptions really anywhere. Words flowed and the story jumped off the page. Double high five to Mr. Wyckoff for pulling this off again!
Just like the first, there are plenty of symbols to be found: Gods competing in a match, healing people, giving mercy, magic stones, elements of light and dark, the afterlife. The more philosophical fantasy reader will be intrigued and have plenty to ponder and discuss.
All in all, Brae has delivered a new quest, new characters and new languages but the same great fantasy writing quality readers expect. I would not be surprised if once again this book rises to the top of the charts and everyone’s reading lists. Just like the first of this series, it is family-friendly, action-packed and lets your imagination run wild. Not any more violent than the average cartoon when I was growing up, this is suitable for an audience of all ages. I highly recommend this one to anyone who can read.

The Dragon God is the second book in the Horn King Series by Brae Wyckoff. I completely enjoyed it and am so looking forward to the next installment. The lovable characters from book 1, The Orb of Truth, split up to accomplish different tasks, are joined by other amazing characters, and end up in the same place to fulfill their requirements. I love the addition of the vampires and am thrilled with Jack's new role. He has unlimited potential, in my opinion. The strong Christian themes are successfully mingled with the fantasies and adventures. This series is destined to become classic.
This is the second book in Brae's amazing series. I was very glad to see that this one is a lot less like Tolkein's story. The characters are well developed and the plot works. I loved how each group had a quest to fulfill and yet all were needed to complete the real purpose of the story. His visual descriptions are amazing and I look forward to reading the next installment.
I enjoyed book 2 of this series for multiple reasons. First off, I was contacted directly by Mr. Wyckoff after my review of his first book, and he said he appreciated my feedback and offered me a copy of book 2 for free when it was released. Needless to say, a free copy of a book is a great way to start reading it! Fortunately, the book includes a brief synopsis of the characters from book 1, which was great because I had forgotten some of the smaller details and lesser characters from it. As far as his writing style, I couldn't tell a whole lot different from book 1, which for me is good, since it gives me a feel of consistency through out the story. Some authors change styles throughout their series, and that makes it more difficult to follow since I feel like different people are telling the story (in some cases though, that's the author's goal).
Most of what I liked about this book is the same for what I liked about book 1. It wasn't the plot or characters that drew me in (though the character development and deeper plot here are plusses), it was the spiritual aspects that I liked. My two favorite parts of the book paralleled stories from the Bible. I appreciate how Mr. Wyckoff intertwines these Biblical stories into his narrative without being preachy in the least.
The book ends well, as the immediate tension is resolved, although there are still plenty of questions left for book 3 to answer.
This was better than the first. I knew and cared about the characters. I enjoined their travels. The teasing they do along the way. It is a great story. I love the mention of their faith in daily setting. It is not a plot device. The ending was oh my oh my. I cried at a drawf's death. I cried harder at the proposal because I want them to be happy. It is great to have the new gnomes and now poor friendless Jack. I wish he could find a way to fit it. The next book, I hope. Thank you for a wonderful story
THE DRAGON GOD BRAE WYCKOFF The ride continues with Bridazak Spilf Abawkin and Dulgin along with other factions looking for a mysterious gem that may have dire consequences should it fall into the wrong hands. Spilf is also trying to locate lost family. With the same spirit of the ORB the adventure and the quest continues of good vs evil triumphing. The main characters are as likeable as the villains are evil beings. Mr. Wyckoff has brought us another epic novel that is suitable for the whole family. I give it five gold stars for a heroic saga.
Read the first book Orb of Truth. I thought it was awesome but this second book is just as awesome. It was one I couldn't put down and you won't want to either. It's a book for all to read. Can't wait to start reading the third book. The Vampire King.
The continuation of the friends adventuring about from the Orb of Truth does not offer much in the character building because we already met almost everyone. The book does quite a bit of bouncing around. Sometimes it made sense and sometimes it doesn’t. Book 1, by far, is a much better book.
