During the London season, Lady Pamela Premington sets her sights on the distinguished and wounded Lieutenant Penford, all the while ducking for cover from the rakish and marriage-minded Lord Marchmont. Original.
Teresa DesJardien lives in Seattle. She is married with grown children, and growing grandkids. She’s been a financial and a file clerk, a mommy, a page, a bookseller, a very young and hot grandma, and an author. She has received two Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Nominations and three Regency Rake of the Month Awards.
This was another fun read by Ms. DesJardien. This one hooks you right from the start...
"Lady Pamela," Lord Marchmont asked in the middle of their waltz, "would you do me the honor of agreeing to become my wife."
Lady Pamela is enjoying her first few weeks of her very first season when out of the blue Lord Marchmont, the town rake, purposes. She is stunned and confused and of course must decline. And yet, there is something about Lord Marchmont that she just can't quite shake. Maybe its because he is determined to make her his bride and this guy does not give up easily. Even when Lady Pamela makes it clear her sites are set on the war hero, Captain Roger Penford.
This was a fun read, I enjoyed Lady Pamela and Marchmont story. It's clear these two have a lot in common and I did love how Marchmont seemed to really accept Pamela for who she was. I would have loved to get a peek from his POV. I thought it was well written and for the most part moved along well, there were a couple times I felt it dragged a tad, but overall it was just a fun lighthearted story.

I have read 2 other books by this author and I gave both of those 5 stars. This one was a disappointment to me. The story is about a girl trying to catch the eye of a military man before he goes back to war. Before she can do this, she is given a proposal by a outrageous flirt. At first she doesn’t believe he is serious but he decides to not give up and tries to court her.
This story became annoying after the hundredth time the h believed the H was lying and didn’t trusty care about her. Through the ENTIRE book this happens. That pretty much details the whole story.
Lady Pamela Premington thinks she knows what she wants: Lieutenant Roger Penford, but when she accepts a dance with Theopholus Dunmire, Lord Marchmont, her life changes. Certainly, Lt. Penford offers his attentions. Pamela and her mother have planned quite nicely for him to do so. However, she isn't expecting Marchmont's attentions also. After all, Marchmont is a known rake. Yet, she and Theo strike up not only a strong friendship but an all-encompassing love.
It really was a pleasure to read this book. I like how the entire story is written in period style. Pamela & Theo are characters you will fall in love with and cheer on in the end.
I enjoyed this book very much, it was witty and romantic. The ending had me smiling to myself. I enjoy Theo's enthusiasm at surprising Pamela at every turn.
